Gaza Christians Being Forcibly Converted; World Uninterested - Ryan Jones ISRAEL TODAY

Gaza Christians Being Forcibly Converted; World Uninterested

Monday, November 07, 2016 |  Ryan Jones  ISRAEL TODAY
You’d think a story like this would be making major headlines, given the amount of attention that’s afforded every other aspect of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But the forced conversion of Christians to Islam by Gaza’s Hamas rulers just doesn’t seem to interest Western power brokers.
And that should be a wake-up call for any and all advocating a two-state solution.
Arab media commentator Raymond Ibrahim brings the story after surveying Arabic-language media, where the plight of Gaza Christians seems to be covered far more regularly.
“…we hear of the kidnapping of Christians and the coercion of them to embrace the religion of Muhammad,” reads one Arab media report cited by Ibrahim.
It goes on to note that in mid-October, Christians in Gaza held a rally against the abduction and forced conversion of their children, and that the coastal enclave's most senior Christian leader, Archbishop Alexios, confirmed that “Christians who converted to Islam did so under threats, coercion, compulsion and force.”
That was just three weeks ago. Did you hear anything about it in your media? Of course not. Because Hamas didn’t want you to, and the Western journalists on the ground here happily comply with the Islamists so they can keep their jobs, and their heads.
Makes you wonder what else is being left out of or misrepresented in mainstream media reports.
Even so, those whose job it is to know what’s going on in the world can’t be unaware of the situation. Which begs the questions: Where is the outcry from world leaders? Where is the special UN Security Council session condemning this behavior? Where are the human rights organizations that are always ready to jump all over Israel at the slightest hint of misconduct?

Palestinians Claim Hebrew-Language Dead Sea Scrolls - Israel Today

Palestinians Claim Hebrew-Language Dead Sea Scrolls

Sunday, November 06, 2016 |  Israel Today Staff
So, the Dead Sea Scrolls are demonstrably written in Hebrew. But the Palestinians are now saying these ancient documents are, like Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, Arab Muslim in origin.
That is how ridiculous the campaign to delegitimize Israel has become.
Carmel Shama-Hacohen - Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) - said the Palestinians raised the matter informally during a recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for Promoting the Return of Cultural Property to its Countries of Origin.
According to the ambassador and to representatives of the Israel Antiquities Authority who were present at the meeting, the Palestinians intend to make a formal claim to the Dead Sea Scrolls when the committee next convenes in 2017.
“This is another provocative and audacious attempt by the Palestinians to rewrite history and to erase our connection to our land,” Shama-Hacohen told The Jerusalem Post. “The Dead Sea Scrolls are factual and weighty archeological evidence of the presence of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel.”

Today's Israel Inspiration

After the tremendous miracle of the exodus from Egypt and while the Israelites were getting their first tastes of freedom at the onset of their sojourn in the desert, God reminds His beloved nation of what He did for them. Why does God use the metaphor of 'eagle's wings' to make this statement? Explain our commentators: almost all birds carry their young in their claws to defend against higher-flying predatorial birds. But the eagle, the bird that flies the highest, carries its young on its back, within its wings, as a show of tender care and love. We are meant to understand from this that we are the young and God is the eagle; no matter what happens to the people of Israel, God will always come and rescue us with loving arms. A modern manifestation of God's promises is no doubt the incredible revolution of aircraft carriers, which have the ability to bring hundreds of people at any given time to the Holy Land and be once again enfolded in the wings of God's love. Find out more about EL AL, and explore its many options to bring you home to Israel.

Archaeological Excavations Shed New Light on Holy Temple's Destruction

2,000 years ago, the invading Roman army took siege of Jerusalem and breached her walls by slinging stones and battering the doors. Today, new archaeological evidence may at last reveal where in the wall the battle took place.

Chaos Candidate: Is Trump a Modern-Day King Cyrus? - CBN News Chris Mitchell

Chaos Candidate: Is Trump a Modern-Day King Cyrus?
11-04-2016
CBN News Chris Mitchell

JERUSALEM, Israel – On the other side of the ocean, U.S. evangelical Christians are divided about what to do with Donald Trump.
The views range from abandoning Trump to standing with him, believing he has a biblical mandate.
When the tape surfaced recently of Trump making inappropriate comments about women, some evangelicals said it was time to head for the doors.
In a commentary entitled "Unfit for Power," published Oct.11, World Magazine claimed Trump was unfit for power and asked him to step aside.
"A Trump step-aside would be good for America's moral standards in 2016," the article read. "It's still not too late to turn the current race between two unfit major party candidates into a contest fit for a great country."
Yet another major evangelical leader, Dr. James Dobson, stands behind the Republican nominee.
"So…is Donald Trump good for America? I honestly believe that he has been already," he wrote. "He has shaken the political system. Do his comments offend me? At times! Do I agree with all he says? Not at all!"
Evangelical leader and author Lance Wallnau believes Trump is like the Persian King Cyrus the Great.
"It's not a normal election and so we -- it's -- we almost need a different kind of candidate," Wallnau told CBN News. "Trump has the Cyrus anointing to navigate in chaos."
According to the Bible, Cyrus ruled over ancient Babylon and made a decree that the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem should be rebuilt. He also allowed Jews to return to Jerusalem to help in the rebuilding.

"He came in, this king, as a secular ruler and decreed for the building of the house of the Lord. He literally made it possible for the Jews to end the captivity," he explained.
Wallnau wrote a book about this Cyrus connection called God's Chaos Candidate.
"I literally wrote the book for a 30-day purpose," he said. "It's like a sacrifice.  I wrote the book for this election so that believers could know what to do."
Yet others aren't so sure about the biblical analogy of Trump and Cyrus. One apologist wrote he sees a number of "potential problems or gut checks that give (him) serious pause in regard to the 'Trump as Cyrus' word."
But Wallnau believes with China asserting itself, Russia getting more aggressive in the Middle East and the growing threat of Iran, the world is becoming increasingly dangerous for the U.S.
"America's going to have a challenge either way," he said. "With Trump, I believe we have a Cyrus to navigate through the storm."
