Hamas Confirms It Doesn't Want Peace, Will Torpedo Trump's Plan

Tuesday, August 21, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
As elements in Israel and the international community work on a new Middle East peace proposal, they continue to ignore the fact that a sizable portion of the Palestinian population simply isn't interested in a peace that enables Israel to continue existing.
Unfortunately, that part of Palestinian society, even if it is a minority, is large enough to effectively scuttle any efforts to end the conflict.
Case in point, the last Palestinian legislative election was easily won by Hamas, a group that reaffirmed just this week that its primary goal remains the downfall of the Jewish state. And a majority of Palestinian voters chose these guys to lead their government.
At an event in the Gaza Strip, Hamas leaders declared that they remain dedicated to the mission of "liberating the land of Palestine and the holy places of Islam and Christianity."
Hamas further vowed to do everything in its power to torpedo the so-called "deal of the century" being formulated by US President Donald Trump.

Watch Out California! 53 Major Earthquakes (Including A Magnitude 8.2) Just Hit The Ring Of Fire In A 24 Hour Period - Michael Snyder

Posted: 19 Aug 2018 Michael Snyder

Is something unusual starting to happen to the crust of our planet?  The USGS defines any earthquake of at least magnitude 4.5 as “significant”, and there were 53 earthquakes that met that criteria along the Ring of Fire on Sunday alone.  If you would like to verify that information for yourself, you can so do right here

Not too long ago, I wrote about how “Earth changes” seem to be accelerating all over the world, but even I was stunned by the ferocity of the seismic activity that we witnessed over the weekend.  Because none of the earthquakes happened in the United States, the mainstream media almost entirely ignored this story, but that is a huge mistake.  The entire west coast of the U.S. falls along the “Ring of Fire”, and experts assure us that it is only a matter of time before the seismic tension that is building up along the tectonic plates in that area is released.

Much of the seismic activity on Sunday was near the small island nation of Fiji, and it is true that Fiji often experiences earthquakes because it sits directly inside the Ring of Fire
Fiji falls in the Pacific Ring Of Fire – a massive horseshoe-shaped area in the Pacific basin.
The ring is formed of a string of 452 volcanoes and sites of seismic activity (earthquakes), which encircle the Pacific Ocean.
Roughly 90 percent of all earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire, and 75 percent of the world’s active volcanoes are dotted along the expansive ring.
It certainly is not unusual to see earthquakes happen along the Ring of Fire, but what was unusual about the activity on Sunday was the size of the earthquakes.

The largest quake on Sunday was a massive magnitude 8.2 earthquake that could have done an enormous amount of damage if it had been closer to the surface
A massive quake of magnitude 8.2 struck in the Pacific Ocean close to Fiji and Tonga on Sunday but it was so deep that it did not cause any damage, authorities in Fiji said.
The U.S. Tsunami Warning Center also said the quake was too deep to cause a tsunami.
Earthquakes that are that deep are usually not so large.  This “deep focus” earthquake on Sunday was actually the second largest “deep focus” earthquake that has ever been recorded
The USGS calls these “deep focus” earthquakes, and while some of the biggest earthquakes to strike the earth are deep focus, their depth usually minimises damage.
The biggest deep focus earthquake ever recorded was in 2013 when an M8.3 struck near Russia and was felt all over Asia, giving us a sense of how massive this Fiji quake was.
In addition to this massive earthquake in Fiji, other areas of the south Pacific were also hammered on Sunday as well.

You may remember that the Indonesian island of Lombok was shaken by a tremendous quake back on August 5th which killed hundreds of people, and on Sunday they were hit once again.  The following comes from CNN
A trio of intense earthquakes shook several islands in the South Pacific and Indonesia on Sunday, including two on the already battered island of Lombok.
The most recent major quake was a 6.9 magnitude tremor centered just 4 kilometers south of Belanting, on the Indonesian island of Lombok.
That island is still trying to recover from the devastating effects of an August 5 earthquake that killed more than 430 people.
But until big earthquakes start happening here, many Americans simply will not pay any attention to all of this.  What they need to understand is that this is truly a global phenomenon that we are witnessing, and shaking in one part of the globe can have tremendous implications for people literally living on the other side of the planet.  In particular, those living along the west coast should be deeply alarmed that seismic activity along other areas of the Ring of Fire appears to be intensifying.

And I am definitely not the only one saying this.  According to one British news source, scientists are warning that “increased seismic activity” along the Ring of Fire “may mean the so-called ‘Big One’ killer earthquake is on the way”…
Scientists warn increased seismic activity in the area may mean the so-called “Big One” killer earthquake is on the way.
If California was hit, experts warn tens of thousands could be killed.
Sadly, the truth is that we would be extremely fortunate to only have “tens of thousands” killed in the event of a historic earthquake on the west coast.

The 1906 and 1989 earthquakes were actually not that big compared to some of the monster quakes that we have seen elsewhere along the Ring of Fire, but they still did tremendous amounts of damage
Two major earthquakes have hit the Bay Area in modern history. In 1906, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit San Francisco and 80 percent of the city’s buildings fell or burnt to the ground, leaving 300,000 people homeless and killing nearly 3,000. In 1989, a 6.9 magnitude quake caused the ground to liquefy in parts of the city and collapsed highways, killing more than 60 people.
A new report from the U.S. Geological Survey says that there is more than a 70 percent chance that a 6.7 magnitude or higher earthquake will hit the area in the next 30 years.
We live at a time when our planet is becoming increasingly unstable.  In recent weeks we have witnessed earthquake swarms off of the Oregon coastrecord-setting heatwaveshail the size of softballs, and wildfires of unprecedented size and scope.

There are some experts out there that would like to assure all of us that what we are witnessing is completely normal.

But I think that not a lot of people are buying that explanation.

Because there has not been a major seismic event on the west coast for decades, many people have grown complacent.  They simply assume that because nothing has happened in such a long time that nothing will happen for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, the experts assure us that the “Big One” is definitely coming to the west coast at some point, and all of this seismic activity may be an indication that it is coming sooner rather than later.

Christians Bring Message of Hope From Hong Kong to Israel - Arthur Schwartzman ISRAEL TODAY

Christians Bring Message of Hope From Hong Kong to Israel

Sunday, August 19, 2018 |  Arthur Schwartzman  ISRAEL TODAY
With antisemitism on the rise worldwide, and anti-Israel bias in the media, it is always refreshing to see Believers from all around the world come to visit and minister in the Holy Land. Last week, a group of Believers from Hong Kong came to do just that.
In association with Chosen People Ministries and Alliance Global Serve, the congregants of Kowloon Tong Church of the C.C. & M.A. Sheung Shui Church flew to Israel to see, learn and give hope to the Jewish people. They participated in 10 packed days that involved tours of biblical sites, learning about modern Israeli culture, and ministering to Holocaust survivors and singles mothers.
I had the privilege of speaking with members of the group on one of those days, during their visit in the city of Nahariya, where they took part in an outreach program on the beach. I witnessed a devoted group of mission-minded people, who had a heart for the Jewish people.
Tell me a little bit about your group and why you came here?
S: This year is special for Israel, as it’s the 70th anniversary. We are a group of Believers from Hong Kong, and we love the people of Israel because we believe that the Jewish people are the chosen people of God, and we want to bring joy and blessing from Hong Kong. Because the Gospel started here, we would like to bring it back here, to the people of Israel.
M: I’m an intern with CPM; I’m with the group training. It is my 7th time here, and that’s because God gave me love for Israel and the people of Israel. I have a calling to come here and share the Gospel. God has opened this door for me.
Is it hard to share the Gospel with Israelis?
M: Yes, I think so. I’ve gone with my friends for outreach several times, and many people we met say that they don’t believe they have sin, they think they’re good people, and that they can be good on their own efforts. I receive Israeli backpackers in Hong Kong for free, because we want reciprocate this blessing to the Jewish people. Some of them don’t even read the scriptures, they don’t believe Abraham was a real person, and they would ask questions such as, “If there’s a God why did the Holocaust happen?”
Do you think Israelis would be more receptive to the Gospel if it was preached to them by their fellow Jews?
M: I think that we Gentiles can do very little, because of the language barrier, and sometimes because of the culture and history. We have to pray and provoke the Jews to jealousy, but for Jews, because you speak the same language, you understand the culture, you have the same history, same background; I think it’s more powerful if a Jew shares the Gospel with another Jew.
How is Israel viewed in Hong Kong?
M: Many in Hong Kong don’t know much about Israel. Most churches don’t talk about Israel, and if they do, they don’t have a very good perception, mainly because of the media. When I told my pastor that I had a calling for Israel, he stared at me in shock; so I feel like God gave me this burden to share the Gospel with the Jewish people, and also to share with my brothers and sisters the truth about Israel. Many believers don’t pray for the salvation of the Jews or the nation of Israel. Many don’t care, and treat Israel like any other state in the world.
S: We learn from the Bible that Israel is the Holy Land, and many Christians do like to visit Israel at least once in their lifetime. Of course, for Christians, this is a special place. This is the place where God performed miracles and especially Yeshua, who walked upon this land. We want to come here and experience the land that Yeshua walked on.
How is Israel viewed politically?
S: People learn from the news that this is a place of conflict, especially between Israelis and Palestinians, but upon arriving here we don’t feel that tension, as depicted by the media. Of course, all news you read is bad news, but we feel safe, the people are friendly, and we enjoy the environment.
Where do you think Israel is at spiritually?
S: We have mostly been in Jerusalem. We saw many Orthodox Jews who strongly object to Christianity. As we know, the majority doesn’t accept Yeshua as the Messiah, but we believe that the trend is changing. Even though it may not be dramatic right now, more and more people are coming to know Yeshua and accepting the faith.
You ministered as Christians to Israeli single mothers. How was that received?
S: The single moms were very impressed with us, because we traveled all the way from Hong Kong, and we came to serve them, get to know them, and express our love to them. They are the people most ignored by society, and when we extend our warmth and love to them, they were really touched.
Seeing the Believers from Hong Kong on the streets of Nahariya elicited a sense of awe at the power of the Gospel, which spread from Galilee to Jerusalem, and to the ends of the earth. It is a remarkable thing to know that, despite the bias in the media, Israel has friends; people who’re praying for us and expending time, money and effort into the hope of the Jewish people, which is in Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach.

Franklin Graham to Chelsea Clinton: 'What a Lie' About Abortion - DONNA RUSSELL/CBN NEWS

Franklin Graham to Chelsea Clinton: 'What a Lie' About Abortion

Evangelist Franklin Graham passionately criticized a recent speech by former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton who claims there are huge economic benefits from abortion.
"What a lie. Hitler probably also claimed that killing the Jews would be good for their economy," Graham wrote in a Facebook post.
Graham was referencing a speech by the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton where she says America's economy benefitted from legalizing abortion.
"It is not a disconnected fact ... that American women entering the labor force from 1973 to 2009 added three and a half trillion dollars to our economy. The net, new entrance of women—that is not disconnected from the fact that Roe became the law of the land in January of 1973," Clinton said in her speech.
As Graham pointed out, Hitler did, in fact, make a similar economic argument, claiming that the Jewish people were holding back Germany's working class from achieving success.
Graham says legalizing abortion has done the opposite of helping our country, saying, "It has cost this nation more than 60 million lives—lives precious to God. Just think of the contribution these people would have made."
Clinton spoke at the Rise Up for Roe Tour on its first stop in New York City. The pro-choice event is aimed at defending Roe v. Wade and opposing the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.
