Forced Introspection ✡ "Let Those Who Seek My Life Be Frustrated" - Israel365

Let those who seek my life be frustrated and disgraced;
let those who wish me harm, fall back in shame

Psalms 70:3 (The Israel Bible™)

יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיַחְפְּרוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר וְיִכָּלְמוּ חֲפֵצֵי רָעָתִי

Forced Introspection

As the leader of Israel, David lead two lives: A public, national life, and a private one. This psalm focuses on the personal suffering of David which he sought to remember as he writes in the title of this psalm, lehazkir, which means to 'remind' or 'mention'. David had enemies who sought to destroy him personally. They mocked him, deceived him, and acted traitorously toward him. David sought the ultimate failure of these enemies and their shame and humiliation, not out of vengeance, but rather to force them into repentance. Often, it is only the shock and humiliation of defeat that brings one to introspection and to change  his errant ways.

Warning: Bittersweet Times Ahead - BERT FARIAS CHARISMA NEWS

(Photo by Artem Saranin from Pexels)
Joseph prepared for seven years of famine during the seven years of prosperity (Gen. 41:47-49, 53-57). And so there is a time of preparation we've been in now for some time. The disciplinary judgments of the Lord have been delayed and held back from on our nation as the praying remnant who are exercising their spiritual authority take their place.
I heard one minister call this the ministry of divine authority. In the times of Elijah, we see this ministry in manifestation in the spirit and power of Elijah as he stood on Mount Carmel and contested with the false prophets of Baal. The fire fell and consumed the sacrifice along with the wood, stones, dust and even the water. This mighty manifestation caused the people to fall on their faces and declare the Lord as God.
"Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, 'The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!" (1 Kings 18:39b)
We also see this divine authority exercised in the days of Moses as he stretched forth his rod and the Red Sea swallowed up and drowned the Egyptian armies. The results of this ministry are noted in Exodus 14:31:
"When Israel saw the great power which the Lord used upon the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses."
This type of authority administered in the spirit and power of Elijah will be seen again. Its purpose is always redemptive—to bring forth true repentance and cause the hearts of the people to turn to the Lord.
We are in the infantile stages of the release of the spirit and power of Elijah where true servants of God exercise this great authority. This will include a worldwide company of men and women who have been summoned by the Lord to be His messengers, and their ministry will be similar to that of John the Baptist.
"He will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. And he will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord" (Luke 1:16-17).
In the times of Moses and Elijah, great severity was necessary to turn the hearts of the people back to the Lord. Often people quote the Scripture in Romans 2:4, properly stating that it is the goodness or kindness of the Lord that leads to repentance, but when the Lord's goodness does not lead to repentance then He is forced to move us into the realm of His severity.
"Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God—severity toward those who fell, but goodness toward you, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off" (Rom. 11:22).
If people would stop taking Romans 2:4 out of context, they would see that the passage is not just focusing on the goodness of God, but also on His severity. It's in contrast to understanding His severity that we come to greatly appreciate His goodness and not take it for granted. People love to quote this verse, but how often do you hear them quote the verses before and after it? Do people realize this verse is sandwiched between verses about the judgment and wrath of God?
Do you think, O man, who judges those who do such things, and who does the same thing, that you will escape the judgment of God? Do you despise the riches of His goodness, tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
But because of your hardness and impenitent heart, you are storing up treasures of wrath against yourself on the day of wrath when the righteous judgment of God will be revealed. ...
But to those who are contentious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation, and wrath, will be tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man who does evil, to the Jew first, and then to the Gentile (Rom. 2:3-5, 8-9).
The danger of God's judgment and wrath needs to be made known, or people will never realize how good, kind and patient He is. God's goodness is truly manifested toward the disobedient when He graciously allows them more space and time to repent in spite of their rebellion against Him. Lovingly warning others about God's wrath and severity does not mean you are not focusing on the goodness and kindness of God. God's wrath is good, because it is just, and fair, for it reveals His holiness.
Too many people have taken the Lord's goodness to further their pleasurable, worldly and even sinful lifestyles. Therefore, for the sake of their salvation and perseverance of their souls the Lord has to administer His severity.
And so we will see both the manifestation of the goodness and severity of the Lord side by side in the days ahead. Bittersweet times are upon us. We will choose our own medicine. These things will come with great cost and great loss to many as well as great glory and victory to others.

How Will Graham Prepared to Play His Grandfather, Billy Graham, in 'Unbroken' - DeWayne Hamby Charisma News

How Will Graham Prepared to Play His Grandfather, Billy Graham, in 'Unbroken'
9/14/2018 DeWayne Hamby Charisma News

Will Graham, grandson of famed evangelist Billy Graham, stepped in front of the cameras in Unbroken: Path to Redemption to play a crucial part in the life story of Louis Zamperini, Olympic runner and prisoner of war.
The film, a "spiritual sequel" to the 2014 Unbroken, was directed by Harold Cronk (God's Not Dead, God Bless the Broken Road), produced by Matt Baer and executive produced by Luke Zamperini, son of the main character.
Zamperini, played in the film by Samuel Hunt, battled alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder after returning to the states following his time in a Japanese prison camp, but eventually turned his life to Christ at a Billy Graham tent crusade.
"I'm grateful to have a chance to play my granddad and to tell the bigger story of how God changed Louie and Cynthia's (lives)," Graham said.
Graham, who is quick to point out that he's "not an actor," studied his grandfather's sermons, which he said often were as quick as a "machine gun," with the evangelist rarely taking a breath.
"He went eight weeks, preached every day, and twice on Sunday, and so I didn't get to listen to all those sermons, but I try to pick out the few that were meaningful to Louis," he said. "Actually, we used his sermon as my script in the movie."
Luke Zamperini, whose character appears as an infant in the film, never knew his father before his conversion, but jokes that he saw flashes of his anger when he was disciplined. He's grateful for the chance to continue telling his father's story, specifically his transformation.
"I'm disappointed that we couldn't tell the whole story in the first [film] but elated that we're able to tell it in Unbroken: Path to Redemption," he said. "Because this was the right team to tell this part of the story to focus on his struggles with PTSD and being able to overcome that through faith in Christ at the preaching of Will's grandfather."
Unbroken: Path to Redemption releases Friday from Universal 1440 Entertainment, The WTA Group and Pure Flix Entertainment.

Trump to Palestinians: Don't Bite the Hands That Feed You - Israel Today

Trump to Palestinians: Don't Bite the Hands That Feed You

Friday, September 14, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
Despite being wholly dependent upon the goodwill of Israel, the Arab states and Western power-brokers, the Palestinian Authority has seemingly done its best to alienate each and every one.
It's ironic, considering that much of the Palestinian leadership's diplomatic efforts are focused on isolating Israel.
Israel's reasons for distrusting the Palestinian Authority are clear. And numerous statements by Arab leaders across the Middle East in recent years reveal that they don't think very highly of Mahmoud Abbas and his regime, even if they remain committed to the "Palestinian cause."
But the bulk of the PA's annual income comes from the West, and a large chunk of that used to be provided by the United States. But no more.
Over the past several weeks, US President Donald Trump has significantly slashed American financial aid to the Palestinians. In an interview with the New York Times published on Friday, Trump's son-in-law and foreign policy adviser Jared Kushner effectively warned the Palestinians to stop biting the hands that feed them.
"Nobody is entitled to America’s foreign aid," Kushner said as he addressed the Palestinian leadership's hostility toward the Trump Administration.
Kushner also explained this White House's unprecedented steps vis-a-vis the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, such as recognizing Israel's claim to Jerusalem and demanding that the Palestinian refugees be subject to the same set of rules as every other refugee population on earth.
"There were too many false realities that were created — that people worship — that I think needed to be changed," said Kushner. "All we’re doing is dealing with things as we see them and not being scared out of doing the right thing. I think, as a result, you have a much higher chance of actually achieving a real peace."
The remarks echoed what Israeli leaders have been saying for years–that the Palestinians' hard-line positions and the international community's tacit acceptance of them had created an impassible roadblock to peace.

A Record 7 Named Storms Are Swirling Across The Globe – Has ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ Arrived? - Michael Snyder

Posted: 13 Sep 2018 Michael Snyder

Is something extremely unusual happening to our planet?  At this moment, Hurricane Florence is just one of seven named storms that are currently circling the globe.  That matches the all-time record, and it looks like that record will be broken very shortly as a couple more storms continue to develop.

Back in 2004, a Hollywood blockbuster entitled “The Day After Tomorrow” depicted a world in which weather patterns had gone mad.  One of the most impressive scenes showed nearly the entire planet covered by hurricane-type storms all at once.  Of course things are not nearly as bad as in that film, but during this hurricane season we have definitely seen a very unusual number of hurricanes and typhoons develop.  As our planet continues to change, could this become “the new normal”?

As I mentioned above there are currently seven named storms that are active, but an eighth is about to join them, and that would break the all-time record
The Hurricane season is causing devastation from the Pacific to the Atlantic as seven active storms are currently swirling across the globe – with high chances an eighth powerful storm will soon develop to break an all-time record.
And actually there is an additional storm that is also developing in the Pacific which could bring the grand total to nine.

Overall, there have been 9 named storms in the Atlantic and 15 names storms in the Pacific since the official start of the hurricane season.

That is not normal.

In fact, one veteran meteorologist has said that he has “NEVER seen so much activity in the tropics”…
Far from being the biggest threat facing the US coastline this hurricane season, Florence will be followed by several other storms that rapidly strengthening in the Atlantic. As one veteran meteorologist remarked, “in my 35 years forecasting the weather on TV, I have NEVER seen so much activity in the tropics all at the same time.”
Meanwhile, the biggest storm on the planet is actually in the Pacific Ocean.

Super Typhoon Mangku is a Category 5 hurricane, and it absolutely dwarfs Hurricane Florence
The devastating force of Hurricane Florence is nothing when compared to the category 5 hurricane sweeping over the Pacific Ocean, Super Typhoon Mangkhu.
With winds close to 180mph, the fierce hurricane is feared to land over a mountainous terrain in the northern Philippines on Friday night, before moving over the South China Sea and potentially impacting Hong Kong and Vietnam.
But let’s not minimize the seriousness of Hurricane Florence.  It is currently approximately the size of the state of Michigan, and even though it has been downgraded forecasters are still predicting that it will bring up to 40 inches of rain in some areas.

One meteorologist ran the numbers, and he determined that if the current forecasts are accurate the state of North Carolina could end up getting ten trillion gallons of rain
Weather.us meteorologist Ryan Maue crunched some numbers and tweeted that North Carolina’s 7-day rainfall forecast by the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center would be like getting “a total of over 10 trillion gallons” of rain from Florence. The math was based on the projected state average of 10.1 inches of rainfall for that time span.
Yes, you read that correctly.

Ten trillion gallons of rain.

Needless to say, all of that water is going to cause an immense amount of damage.
Over in Virginia, a top official is warning that “there could be a number of dams that will fail”
In neighboring Virginia, officials with the state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation have identified some 100 dams they are concerned could be at risk, either because of “spotty inspection records” or because they are still being built.
“If we get 20 inches of rain in a relatively short period of time,” Russ Baxter, the department’s deputy director told the WSJ, “there could be a number of dams that will fail.”
As I write this article, some areas along the coast are already getting hammered.  Atlantic Beach has received more than 12 inches of rain, and other towns are already inundated with water.

It is going to be a long couple of days for those living along the Mid-Atlantic coast, and there were reports of panic among those making last-minute preparations
A rowdy crowd was shown in a Facebook video shared by an employee from the supermarket off Glenn School Road in Durham Tuesday pushing one another and shouting as they hurried around the store to gather their supplies.
Police officers were even spotted making their rounds around the Walmart to ensure the safety of shoppers.
One officer is seen restraining a young boy as another shopper drops several bottles of water.
This is yet another example that shows that you never wait until the last minute to get what you need.

In the end, the damage to property will be in the tens of billions of dollars, but only a handful of people will probably lose their lives.

Now that the storm has been downgraded, some are even booking rooms along the coast so that they can say that they rode the storm out.

For instance, 53-year-old Barry Freed says that he is sticking around so that he can cross this off his “bucket list”
For Barry Freed, 53, riding out a hurricane was a chance to cross something off his “bucket list.”
Armed with a few sodas, some M&Ms, Doritos and a copy of Moby Dick, the Greensboro resident booked an AirBnB at a condo here.
As skies darkened Thursday and winds whipped up at Waterway Lodge, just off the marina near Wrightsville Beach, Freed admitted he wasn’t really prepared.
“I kind of thought of this impulsively,” he said. “It’s kind of a stupid idea.”
Yes, it probably is a stupid idea, but I admire his courage.

This storm will come and go, and the recovery will take an extended period of time.

But the much bigger story is what is happening to our planet on a larger scale.  These storms are increasing in number and intensity, and that should definitely alarm all of us.
