Why Kavanaugh Could Lead to the Biggest Red Wave America Has Ever Seen - STEVE STRANG CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Judge Brett Kavanaugh (YouTube)
This morning, the Senate voted to advance Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination. It's likely the final vote will happen during the weekend. Like many Americans, I've been glued to the television the past couple weeks, watching the hearings and waiting to see what will happen next.
From what I've observed, Kavanaugh is not only a strong conservative but also a qualified jurist. In his 12 years as a judge on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, he's written more than 300 opinions. He underwent many hours of examination, and the FBI conducted six background checks on him.
And yet, before Donald Trump even announced his nomination, the Democrats declared they would do everything to oppose his choice. It's become clear that the left's goal is now simply to oppose anything Trump does and resist what is important to Bible-believing Christians.
I believe Kavanaugh is a good man who loves God. In fact, the Democrats had to go all the way back to his high school years to find an accuser. Kavanaugh's character aside, though, nobody should have to go through what he and his family have.

I should clarify that when I watched Christine Blasey-Ford testify, I believed she was sincere, and it was clear she had been traumatized. But Kavanaugh insists he wasn't the man who attacked her. Much of the matter is his word against hers, and I think Ford's memory tends to be faulty. You can watch her testimony for yourself on YouTube and see how she remembers some details (like only having one beer) but not others (such as how she arrived at the party where she was assaulted).
Because of this, I find that her testimony lacks credibility. No one would have taken Ford's case to court under normal circumstances, but the Democrats used it merely so they could attack Kavanaugh's character and oppose his nomination. The left's tactics are to destroy and to put question marks in people's minds.
I write about this in my new book, Trump Aftershock. In my first political book, God and Donald Trump, I discuss how the left was certain Hillary Clinton would win the presidency. When she didn't, the left became enraged and since then has opposed Trump at every turn.
In Trump Aftershock, I flesh out the idea that if Trump's election was an earthquake, all that has happened since then are the aftershocks. These aftershocks don't just include the negative issues, such as the left's resistance, but also Trump's accomplishments, such as our booming economy and his muscular diplomacy. This year, for the first time in my life, I watched a president bring a North Korean dictator to the negotiating table.
Despite these accomplishments, the Democrats have made it clear that their main objective is to oppose anyone Trump nominates. But—although I believe Kavanaugh will be confirmed—if for some reason he loses, the left's plan will likely backfire. A number of Christian prophets believe these attacks will come back and boomerang on the Democratic Party.
One of the pundits said the other day that Kavanaugh is more popular than any senator, and I think he's right. Even one of my liberal friends announced that the despicable way the Democrats have treated Kavanaugh has made him decide he's never going to vote Democrat again.
Sen. Lindsey Graham suggests that if Kavanaugh loses the nomination, Trump should nominate him again after the midterm elections. In doing so, Trump would make the midterms a referendum, which I believe could become the greatest red wave we have ever seen in this country's history.
To make that happen, though, believers across the nation need to pray and vote. Yesterday, I wrote about how my 90-year-old mother, despite the difficulties, still goes to the polls and votes in every election. If she can vote, so can you! Nov. 6 is fast approaching, so make sure you're registered to vote and, if you'll be out of town that day, use an absentee ballot.
Nov. 6 also happens to be the day Trump Aftershock releases. I encourage you to pre-order the book on Amazon or at trumpaftershock.com. Until the release date, I plan to write a newsletter and record a podcast every day about some aspect of what's happening in our culture that relates to my book. Listen to my latest podcast below!

Angela Merkel's Problematic Policy Toward Israel - Tsvi Sadan ISRAEL TODAY

Angela Merkel's Problematic Policy Toward Israel

Friday, October 05, 2018 |  Tsvi Sadan  ISRAEL TODAY
There are two disturbing aspects of Germany's policy vis-a-vis the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. One is Germany's decision to fill the financial gap left by America's decision to stop supporting UNRWA, the UN's Palestinian refugee relief fund. The second is Germany's financial support for the illegal Bedouin village of Khan al-Akmar, located just east of Jerusalem, which Israel's Supreme Court ruled must be evacuated.
Both these things stem from a German moral position, which makes them all the more irritating.
Back in 1981, then-Prime Minister Menahem Begin rebuked German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt for giving moral support to the Palestinian cause. "From a moral point of view," said Begin, "Schmidt's statements certainly rank as the most callous ever heard … it seems that the Holocaust had conveniently slipped his memory. The German debt to the Jewish people," continued Begin, "can never end, not in this generation and not in any other." Schmidt's sympathy for Israel's enemies was all the more troubling in light of what Begin called Germany's "lucrative business deals with Saudi Arabia.''
One could easily find the similarities between the positions taken by Schmidt and Merkel, who now challenges Israel's sense of morality, while at the same time seeking lucrative business deals with Iran. To fully appreciate how problematic Merkel's sense of morality is, one needs to understand UNRWA and Khan al-Ahmar.
UNRWA is the only UN refugee relief organization devoted to a single group of people, the Palestinians. Furthermore, under the auspices of this organization, the number of Palestinian refugees has grown from less than half-a-million in 1948 to more than five million today (so much for Palestinian "genocide").
UNRWA is the institution that invented the notion of hereditary refugee status. No other group of refugees (and there were more than 100 million refugees in the 20th century) was ever granted this counterproductive benefit, which we must conclude has but one goal: to destroy Israel. Likewise, no other group of refugees has benefited from UN aid for such a long period of time. All other refugee crises were solved within a decade or two. But UNRWA continues to nourishing the Palestinian refugee problem for more than 70 years, without showing any signs of fatigue. In this light, Merkel's support of UNRWA is anything but moral.
And if invigorating UNRWA wasn't enough, Germany is actively intervening in Israel's internal affairs by speaking out on behalf of the illegal settlement of Khan al-Ahmar. Since the early 1990s, the Israel Supreme Court has three times ruled against the Bedouin settlement, which was represented by radical left-wing Israeli NGOs bankrolled by European nations, Germany included.
As someone who once lived in the town of Ma'aleh Adumim, I followed closely how the few tents of the Jahalin tribe situated just half a mile from my house slowly became a village of shacks that now nearly surrounds Ma'aleh Adumim. The Jahalin faction now living in the West Bank broke away the part of their tribe that resides in "Israel proper" over some sort of internal feud shortly after the 1948 War of Independence. It wasn't until the 1990s that the Jahalin in the West Bank began to identify themselves as Palestinians, and they did so only because it was economically expedient to do so.
The repeated appeals to the Supreme Court, and Israel's sluggish implementation of the court's rulings, has turned Europe's attention to this shabby village. It was quickly became a case study for Israel's alleged immorality and Europe's commitment to the supposedly moral causes of all peoples who hate Israel with a passion. This, according to Merkel, is a sound moral position.
It would have been one thing to criticize Israel if it was truly an incarnation of apartheid South Africa. It is an entirely different thing when, Germany of all countries, accuses Israel of lacking morality, while at the same time supporting the immoral agendas of both the Palestinians and Iran.
This is what's so irritating about what amounts to condescending preaching coming from a country that lost any right to chastise Israel. As Israeli journalist Shimon Riklin rightly said, when it comes to criticizing Israel, Germany should keep its mouth shut for the next 2,000 years.

Regardless of Kavanaugh's Confirmation Outcome, We Must Address This

FRANK TUREK  CHARISMA NEWS
If your back was turned when your child asked, "Daddy (or Mommy), can I kill it?" What would be your first question?
What is it?
A spider? Sure. Your baby sister? No.
Many of the problems in our culture stem from the fact that many people fail to correctly answer the question, "What is it?" What is the nature of the thing in question?
This applies in everything from abortion to Senate confirmation hearings, which, come to think of it, are really about the same thing. What is the nature of the Constitution? What is the nature of the unborn? What is the nature of sex?
Get Spirit-filled content delivered right to your inbox! Click here to subscribe to our newsletter.
It seems to me that the left's answers to these "What is it?" questions are wrong. And their wrong answers lead to wrongdoing.
What is the nature of the Constitution?
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land that expresses the will of the people, and, at the same time, protects the people from an overreaching government. It can only be changed through the amendment process (that's why the amendment process is in there). The will of the people should not be overruled by rogue judges who merely disagree with what the people have decided (that's what overreaching governments do).
But the left doesn't care about the will of the people. The left wants judges who will impose leftist policy preferences and will fight any judge who isn't a leftist legislator. That's why the left came out against Judge Kavanaugh immediately after he was announced back in July. It had nothing to do with any alleged sexual misconduct. This is about abortion.
Abortion is not, and never has been, in the Constitution. In 1973, seven unelected judges overruled the will of the people in all 50 states by inventing a right to abortion through their Roe vs. Wade opinion.
The left knows that if a case rises to the court that challenges Roe vs. Wade, a judge like Brett Kavanaugh might actually read the Constitution and join others to overturn Roe. That would put the question of abortion back to the states where people could actually vote on it. (Overturning Roe vs. Wade wouldn't outlaw abortion—it would just return the issue to the states and allow the people in each state to vote on it.)
What is the nature of the unborn?
Why are leftists afraid to allow people to vote on abortion? Because democracy and truth are the enemy of their pro-abortion position. An informed public might correctly answer the question, "What is the nature of the unborn?" and vote to restrict or outlaw abortion. Indeed, anyone who has ever seen a sonogram knows there's an actual baby in there. It's not just "a blob of tissue," but a genetically unique human being from the moment of conception. That's a scientific fact.
But for the science-denying left, the nature of the unborn doesn't matter. Power matters. Their wrong answer about the nature of the unborn leads them think it's justified to use power to commit wrongdoing to get what they want. After all, once you've convinced yourself that it's justified to kill the unborn, how hard is it to convince yourself that it's justified to kill the reputation and candidacy of a conservative judge?
"Daddy, can I kill it?" "Why not? It's in my way."
What is the nature of sex?
And then there's sex, from which all of this derives. For the left, sex is like a religion, and a militant one at that. Anyone who questions their sexual dogma will be branded a heretic, as I was. In the name of "inclusion, tolerance and diversity," you will be excluded and not tolerated for holding a diverse view.
The left's views on sex are not only contradictory on so many levels, but their wrong view on the nature of sex leads to personal and societal destruction. For the past 50 years, leftists in academia, the media and Hollywood have been cheering on casual sex as if the nature of sex itself is merely physical. It's little more than a sport. It's a competition where you're urged to throw off all restraint and constantly pursue sexual conquest, especially when it's outside of marriage.
So why are leftists now outraged to hear that some teenage boy may have actually pursued sexual conquest as if it were merely a sport? They create and champion an environment that amps up youth to "score" sexually and are then shocked when a youth may have actually gone too far in attempting to do so.
The left has helped create the very problem they're now selectively incensed about. (I say "selectively" because who on the left voted to remove Bill Clinton for the sexual sins he committed, not allegedly as a drunken teenager, but known sins he committed as president of the United States?)
They've done the very thing C.S. Lewis observed about those who undermine virtue. Lewis wrote, "In a sort of ghastly simplicity we remove the organ and demand the function. We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful."
In fact, the left has castrated the proper view of sex itself. A moment's reflection should convince anyone that sex is far more than just physical. If sex is just physical, then why is it worse if someone rapes you than if someone physically assaults you? Why are people more traumatized over sex than almost anything else? Why do we consider the uncorroborated word of Dr. Ford so seriously, even when all of the supposed witnesses deny it happened?
Because deep in our hearts, we know that sex isn't just a sport or physical activity to be taken lightly as the left has been advertising for so long. It's much more than physical. There are spiritual, emotional, reproductive, psychological and moral aspects to sex, which means the consequences can be either wonderful or devastating.
Sex is like fire: if you keep it in your fireplace, it will warm you. But if you get it anywhere else in your house, it will burn your house down. If you have sex with someone, then everything changes dramatically forever.
Regardless of how this confirmation process turns out, there are more foundational issues we must address personally and as a country. Are we going to continue to lie to ourselves about the nature of the Constitution, the nature of the unborn and the nature of sex? If so, we're not only going to continue killing our vulnerable children, we're going to continue killing our vulnerable country.

Pilot Saves Hundreds When Holy Spirit Prompts Him to Take Off Moments Before Quake Strikes - MARK ELLIS/ASSIST NEWS

Pilot Saves Hundreds When Holy Spirit Prompts Him to Take Off Moments Before Quake Strikes

The Holy Spirit prompted a Christian airline pilot to speed the departure of his Batik Air flight from Palu carrying 140 passengers, narrowly averting a potential disaster with the loss of many lives.
The epicenter of a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Friday, Sept. 28, in a mountainous area of Central Sulawesi, 48 miles from the provincial capital of Palu. Only minutes later, underwater landslides apparently triggered a massive 10-20 foot tsunami that swept through Palu and other coastal areas.
The waves were intensified by Palu's location at the end of a narrow bay. At least 1200 people perished and smaller villages in the surrounding area were entirely swept away. Because communication has been poor in remote areas, the death toll may increase dramatically.
"All day Friday I had been feeling unsettled and I didn't know why," Captain Icoze Mafella recounted at a Jakarta church, Duta Injil BIP, on Sunday, Sept. 30.

To displace his feelings of unease, Mafella—a strong Christian—began to loudly sing worship songs on his flight from Ujung Pandang to Palu. "Usually I only hummed, but that day I wanted to praise the Lord as best I could," Mafella said.
"I think you should make a CD of worship songs," his Muslim co-pilot told him, jokingly.
When they were about to land at the Palu Airport, the wind was unusually strong and Mafella "heard a voice in his heart" directing him to circle again before landing.
The Palu airport is squeezed between two mountain ranges, and some pilots refer to airports situated in this way as "valleys of death," so once again, Mafella felt prompted to be extra careful in landing and recited Psalm 23:
"I may walk through valleys as dark as death, but I won't be afraid. You are with me, and Your shepherd's rod makes me feel safe," he said.
After they landed, the Holy Spirit prompted Mafella once more that he needed to be quick. He instructed his crew to take a shorter, 20-minute break before the plane was due to take off for Jakarta via Ujung Pandang.
"I didn't even leave the cockpit and requested permission from the control tower to depart three minutes ahead of schedule," Mafella recounted.
He received approval for the expedited time for takeoff from Air Controller Anthonius Agung, and the crew prepared for departure.
Mafella felt such an urgency that he broke with standard flight procedures and took over some of the co-pilot's responsibilities to speed up their exit.
The moment arrived for takeoff, and the plane barreled down the runway. "I don't know why, but my hand kept pushing the lever, causing the plane to speed up as it took off," Mafella said.
As they sped down the airstrip, the massive earthquake began to strike Palu, and both pilots felt the plane sway noticeably to the left and right. The Muslim co-pilot glanced at Mafella with a look of fear in his eyes.
"If I had taken off three minutes later, I would not have been able to save the 140 passengers, because the asphalt on the landing strip was moving up and down like a curtain blowing in the wind," Mafella testified.
Several minutes after takeoff, he attempted to communicate with the control tower, but there was no response.
Then he looked down and saw an unusual sight. "The sea water on the coast was forming a very large hole so that the foundation of the sea bed could be seen," he reported. "I saw circles getting bigger and bigger. I thought it was very strange."
Prior to a tsunami, the shoreline often recedes dramatically, exposing areas that are normally submerged.
When the plane arrived in Ujung Pandang, he was told the shocking news that there had been an earthquake and tsunami in Palu.
The air controller, Anthonius Agung, 21, made sure their plane—the last to leave the airport — had safely taken off before he jumped from the crumbling control tower at the height of the quake.
"They said people tried to call him to get away from the tower, but he said, 'No, the aircraft isn't airborne yet.' Then the roof started collapsing, and he jumped," Mafella explained.
Tragically, Agung broke his legs, arms and ribs as a result of the fall and died from internal injuries on his way to the hospital.
"In this difficult time, during the split seconds of decisions, he waited for me until I was safe before he jumped. That's why I call him my guardian angel," Mafella said.
Many others are calling the air controller a hero—along with Mafella.
"It is important that we hear the voice of God," he said.
"And whatever happens we must be calm, not in a panic, so that we can clearly hear the voice of God coming to us by the Holy Spirit."
