Trump Envoy 'Deeply Angered' by Ongoing Hamas Terrorism - Israel Today

Trump Envoy 'Deeply Angered' by Ongoing Hamas Terrorism

Tuesday, January 30, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
US President Donald Trump's special representative for international negotiations, Jason Greenblatt, was in the region this past week, and, like Trump, he was none too happy with the behavior of different Palestinian groups.
Following a tour of Gaza terror tunnels provided by the Israeli army, Greenblatt issued a statement harshly condemning the coastal enclave's Hamas rulers.
Excerpts from the statement, via the US Consulate in Jerusalem, read:
"I am deeply angered by Hamas’ continued terror activity, including the digging of tunnels that facilitate terrorist activities. Such activities show Hamas’ continued exploitation of the people of Gaza and Hamas’ threats to stability and security in the region."
"Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other extremists continue to build up their military strength at the expense of the civilian population, causing danger to the people of Gaza, Israel, and Egypt."

Syria Threatens to Fire Missiles at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport - Israel Today

Syria Threatens to Fire Missiles at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport

Tuesday, January 30, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
Syrian dictator Bashar Assad threatened at the weekend to strike Israel's primary point of entry, Ben Gurion International Airport.
Assad said in a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin that if Israel again attacks on Syrian soil, he will fire SCUD missiles at Ben Gurion Airport.
That according to the Lebanese newspaper A-Diyar, which reported that Putin promised to pass the message along to Israel.
Israel has struck both Syrian government and Hezbollah targets in the war-torn country on numerous occasions, the latest attack occurring just three weeks ago, when Israeli aircraft attacked a weapons depot not far from Damascus.
The Israeli attacks are ostensibly to prevent Syria from obtaining advanced weapons from Iran and other sources and then passing them on to Hezbollah.

Report: Trump Prepared to Kick Palestinians Out of Washington - Israel Today

Report: Trump Prepared to Kick Palestinians Out of Washington

Tuesday, January 30, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
US President Donald Trump won't stop merely as cutting financial aid if the Palestinian Authority doesn't change its belligerent tune, and soon.
According to sources that spoke to Israel's Channel 2 News, Trump told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Davos last week that he might soon shutter the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) offices in Washington.
Those offices serve as a de facto embassy for the Palestinian Authority, despite the fact that under the "Oslo Accords" the Palestinians aren't supposed to be conducting foreign relations prior to a final status agreement.
In speaking to the press at the World Economic Forum, Trump addressed the issue of American aid to the Palestinians:
"They disrespected us a week ago by not allowing our great vice president to see them, and we give them hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and support — tremendous numbers, numbers that nobody understands. That money is not going to them unless they sit down and negotiate peace."
