As ceasefire talks proceeded into a sixth round in Qatar, Israeli forces pounded Hamas targets in Gaza today. Hamas refuses to release hostages until Israel commits to a permanent troop withdrawal, while Israel won't back down on its core goal of eliminating the Hamas threat. President Trump deflected talk of friction between Israel and the U.S., saying the two nations are fully coordinating and "agree completely" that Hamas cannot pose a threat to Israel. Meanwhile, there are growing concerns that Iran is trying to retrieve uranium from the nuclear facilities that were largely destroyed in the U.S. and Israeli attacks last month. Here's what you need to know.

WE'RE ALSO WATCHING  Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner led the entire Trump cabinet in prayer for the flood victims in central Texas as the state's governor, Greg Abbott, announced an intensive search for 160 missing people. President Trump's campaign promise to repeal the Johnson Amendment, which prohibits pastors from endorsing political candidates, may soon be realized, after the I.R.S. said in a recent court filing that churches are permitted to endorse campaign candidates from the pulpit.   An update on a CBN News story from earlier this week: Baylor University has rescinded a $640,000 grant from a progressive group to advance LGBTQ "inclusion and belonging in the church." TODAY'S TOP VIDEOS President Trump appears to be losing patience with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The president said he tried to "play nice" with the Kremlin, but after a massive Russian drone attack on Ukraine, the White House is considering tough sanctions and shipments of defensive weapons to Kyiv.    The group Skillet's John Cooper says the church needs to make a "full-throated condemnation" of former Newsboys singer Michael Tait's alleged actions of sexual assault. He believes the "larger Christian testimony to the world is at stake."
