God Has Chosen Jerusalem—It's Time We Do the Same - REV. CHERYL L. HAUER BRIDGES FOR PEACE

God Has Chosen Jerusalem—It's Time We Do the Same

REV. CHERYL L. HAUER/BRIDGES FOR PEACE  charisma news
2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the remarkable city of Jerusalem, and celebrations will abound in Israel and around the world. We hope you will join us as we celebrate! It is a unique moment in history, just as Jerusalem is unique among all the cities of the world. The very name evokes an emotional response. It is God's city, His holy mountain! He chose it for His earthly dwelling place, and those who love Him are drawn to His home.
"Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King" (Ps. 48:1-2).
As believers, when we think of the LORD our King and the fact that He chose Jerusalem as His habitation, perhaps we can begin to recognize the eternal importance of this incredible place. Millions visit the city every year, many coming to seek the face of God in His holy habitation.
Others come with a different heart. Historically, many have sought to destroy this city that God claims as His own and others continue in their determination to divide it. They may not realize it, but those who conspire against this place make themselves opponents of the LORD of the universe. There is a spiritual war over Jerusalem as the forces of the enemy would destroy that which God holds so dear. That same war is also experienced in the natural realm. During its long history, Jerusalem has been attacked 52 times, captured and recaptured 44 times, besieged 23 times and destroyed twice. During the 1948 war for Israel's independence, Jerusalem was again attacked and torn apart. The Jordanians occupied half the city until the Six-Day War in 1967, when it was miraculously restored to the Jewish people. What a glorious day it was when the city God chose to be Israel's eternal and undivided capital was reunited and once again under Jewish sovereignty!
At Bridges for Peace, we are sponsoring a worldwide celebration to rejoice with those who rejoice over Jerusalem! You can be part of this celebration without ever leaving home, and we will help to provide resources and ideas to make your Jerusalem party a success. Everything is free, and if you host or attend a party, you might even win a free trip to visit this incredible place. But most important, your voice will join with others around the world, declaring into the heavens that this city is indeed God's city and the eternal and undivided capital of the State of Israel.
Imagine the incredible spiritual power that will be unleashed when thousands or even millions of Christians around the world all join together to praise and honor Jerusalem within the same two-week period! Please, visit rejoicejerusalem.com, sign up and join us. What a blessing you will be to the God who claims Jerusalem as His own!

First Public Prayer for President Trump Held in Jerusalem [WATCH] - Tsivya Fox BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

First Public Prayer for President Trump Held in Jerusalem [WATCH]

“And He changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth kings, and setteth up kings; He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.” Daniel 2:21 (The Israel Bible™)
Rabbi Tuly Weisz, director of Israel365 and publisher of Breaking Israel News offered the first public prayer for President-Elect Donald Trump in Jerusalem at the Bridges for Peace solidarity conference on Wednesday.

Rabbi Weisz spoke at the Bridges for Peace gathering in Jerusalem. Entering the hall, he was informed that Donald Trump had just been elected President of the United States.
Following the contentious campaign which left many wondering what had become of the democratic process in America, it was clear that the diverse group of over 100 mostly Christian participants from eight nations, were anxiously waiting words of clarity from Rabbi Weisz.
With UNESCO’s recent endorsement that Jews and Christians have no connection to the Temple Mount and continued negative reports about the Holy Land, the event was called “Encountering the Truth About Israel: 40 Year Celebration of the Dispatch From Jerusalem”.
Do you agree the Jewish people have a Biblical right to Jerusalem?
“This event was the perfect venue to pray for the welfare of America and the State of Israel,” smiled Rabbi Weisz.
Bridges For Peace is an organization made up of Christians worldwide who support Israel and the building of relationships between Christians and Jews in Israel and across the globe. They bless Israel through humanitarian projects throughout the Holy Land.
Rabbi Weisz began his talk by asking the audience to stand and join him in a “Prayer for the Welfare of the Government”. This prayer is found in many Jewish prayer books. Instituted in 1948 by the Sephardic and Ashkenazi Chief Rabbis of the newly formed State of Israel, today the prayer is commonly said in religious Zionist synagogues on the Sabbath and during Jewish holy days.
Prayer For the Welfare of the Government:
May He who gives salvation to kings and dominion to princes,
whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
who delivers His servant David from the evil sword,
who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters,
bless and protect, guard and help, exalt, magnify and uplift the
President Elect Donald Trump
and Vice-President Mike Pence
and all officials of the United States of America.
May the supreme King of kings in His mercy
put into their hearts and the hearts of all their counselors and officials,
to deal kindly with us and all Israel.
In their days and in ours may Judah be saved and Israel dwell in safety,
and may the Redeemer come to Zion.
May this be His will, and let us say: Amen.
As citizens all over the world wonder what the next four years of this new American leadership will bring, this prayer sends a message of hope that all is in God’s hands. Rabbi Weisz continued his talk by reiterating that God keeps His promises to His children and that we are blessed to be living in this era where the prophet’s words are coming to life.
“Through the prophets, we know that God promised that the Jewish people would be ingathered from the four corners of the earth to return to their Biblical homeland and bring the greatness of Godliness back into the world,” said Rabbi Weisz to Breaking Israel News. “I fully believe that Trump in the White House is part of God’s greater plan to bring the Messiah and I am honored to open this event and this momentous occasion with this heartfelt prayer.”

Prayer Mobilized for Israel's Physical, Spiritual Battle - Tzippe Barrow, Jerusalem)

Prayer Mobilized for Israel's Physical, Spiritual Battle

JERUSALEM, Israel -- The letter to the Ephesians in the Bible says much of what happens in the natural realm has spiritual roots.
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)
So how are people praying into the terror wave sweeping across Israel?
Intercessory groups in Israel, along with Christian and Jewish groups worldwide, are calling on people to pray at this critical time in Israel's history.
Intercessors for Israel, an indigenous Israeli ministry that sponsors a weekly prayer meeting and annual intercessory prayer conference in Jerusalem, posted an emergency prayer alert this week.
According to IFI, the basis of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict lies in the Palestinian Authority's unwillingness to acknowledge in any way that the Jewish Temples once stood on the same mount where the al-Aksa Mosque now sits.
P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas recently said Jews should not be allowed to soil the area with their "filthy feet."
There have been a variety of efforts over the years to destroy archaeological evidence of a Jewish presence on the Temple Mount. The Islamic Movement in Israel, for example, denies any historical Jewish connection to the Western Wall.
But the last remaining vestige of the Temples has great spiritual significance to the Jewish people, some calling it Judaism's holiest site.
During the Jordanian occupation from 1948 until Jerusalem was reunited under Israeli sovereignty in 1967, Jews were forbidden to enter the Old City.
Despite the fact that Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Koran, Islamic Movement leader Sheikh Raed Salah still claims the wall is part of the al-Aksa Mosque's western tower.
Meanwhile, the Jerusalem-based headquarters of Bridges for Peace called on people "to bring prayers and petitions before the Lord on behalf of the nation of Israel, which exists for His purposes and His glory."
"Call upon Him to strengthen the resolve of His people as they face increasing acts of violence meant to dislodge them from the Land of their inheritance," Bridges wrote, citing Jeremiah 31:35-36.
Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): "If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever."
On the Huffington Post website, Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson admonished people not to lose hope and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
"Our brothers' and sisters' blood cries out to us from the ground. We have watched with pain and sorrow as the recent wave of terror attacks have claimed too many lives and orphaned too many children," Artson writes.
"We unconditionally condemn these violent attacks on innocent Israeli citizens. No political motive justifies murdering or injuring civilians. We call on the Palestinian and international leadership to condemn these attacks in no uncertain terms," he continued, noting "the shock of attack after attack…can immobilize."
"I beg of you: don't lose hope. Stand tall and proud as Jews, as a Jewish community -- and reach out to anyone you know in Israel or with Israeli family and friends. Let's model the love we pray influence our political reality, soon and in our days," he wrote.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Please God, may it be so: right now," Rabbi Artson concluded, expressing the hearts of Christians and Jews alike.

Shabbat Inspiration

The Machpelah Cave is where Abraham, Sara, Isaac, Rivka, Jacob and Leah are all buried. Abraham's purchase of this property was the first concrete action to establish a Jewish connection with a particular place in the Land of Israel, and upon his death he is buried in this place. Today, thousands of years later, Jews commemorate the Sabbath when this Torah portion is read as 'Shabbat Hebron.' Synagogues around the world dedicate study and prayers in honor of Hebron, and tens of thousands of Israeli Jews and tourists visit the holy city for Shabbat.
