LoveMusic! Revelation Song (Live) Kari Jobe at Chris Tomlin concert

Revelation Song  (Live)

Kari Jobe and Chris Tomlin

Sept. 22, 2017

Greetings LoveMusic! listeners!

There have been many worship leaders who have now done Revelation Song. I really didn't know the history of the song, so I looked it up (see below.) I found out it was written by Jennie Lee Riddle before 2009. At that time it was recorded by a group from Christ For The Nations. Soon after Kari Jobe, Phillips, Craig and Dean, Don Moen and others included it on their albums.

Whenever I hear the song my spirit soars. If ever there is a song declaring, proclaiming, worship the Living God, this is one of them.

Worship the Living God of Israel! He alone is to be praised and glorified!

Ahava and shalom,

Release[edit]

Revelation Song was released by contemporary Christian group Phillips, Craig and Dean on May 5, 2009 as the lead single from their album Fearless. Their version quickly gained popularity, reaching No. 1 on BillboardHot Christian Songs chart in August 2009,[1] and No. 31 on Billboard'Heatseekers Songs. It was the longest-running No. 1 song in any format on Christian radio in 2009.[2] In all, it spent over 15 weeks atop the Billboard's Hot Christian Adult Contemporary chart, and No. 11 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songschart.[citation needed]
Band member Randy Phillips explained why the trio recorded the song:
This song captures the moment of looking up into Heaven, peeling back the curtain of eternity so we can peek in. If you keep your eyes on the Dow Jones or nuclear weapons in North Korea, you’ll always be nervous. Look to the awesomeness of God instead.[3]

Dutch Sheets Resigns From Christ for the Nations, Cites Limited Window for Change in US

Best-selling author Dutch Sheets announced Wednesday he will be leaving Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI), where he returned to his alma mater in 2012 to serve as executive director. His resignation becomes effective at the end of May as the school’s spring term concludes.
During his tenure at CFNI, Sheets continued to minister and speak around the nation most weekends, as well as write books—including his latest, The Power of Hope, which released Tuesday.
He told students and staff Wednesday that the demand on his time did not allow him to give himself fully to leading the school in a way he’d like, adding that this was “a difficult decision.”

“The No. 1 passion of my life is seeing America experience a third great awakening. This has been my primary calling from God for over 20 years,” he said to CFNI staff today. “When I accepted this assignment at CFNI, I knew that calling to America would not change—that I would have to add this responsibility to what I was already doing.”
Sheets said upon arriving at CFNI he was also aware his assignment might not be long-term—though he hoped it would be longer—and called his work with students “one of the greatest joys.” He believes, however, that the Lord has given him a new assignment for America leading up to national elections in two years.
“I believe there is a two- to three-year window for us as a nation to see certain things change,” he said. “I feel a great responsibility and stirring in my spirit to be a part of leading in this. It has to do with prayer and, of course, the revival that I know is coming.”
CFNI President Dennis Lindsay publicly thanked Sheets for his leadership and joined staff in praying a blessing over him during a service this morning. He also wrote a letter to Sheets, which he shared with Charisma News.
“It is obvious to me that God has put in your heart a plan to touch America’s spiritual spine,” Lindsay wrote. “Though we would love for you to accomplish this divine plan as executive director of the CFN Insititute, I am convinced that the structure of this ministry could impede the vision God has placed in your heart, as well as the burden upon you to be an agent of change over the next two years.”
Sheets and his wife, Ceci, graduated from CFNI in the late 1970s, and Sheets taught at the Gordon Lindsay-founded school throughout the ’80s. A former pastor, Sheets is best known for his book Intercessory Prayer, which has sold nearly 1 million copies worldwide.

Parents - Armed and Loaded with Prayer (Dutch Sheets) - The Elijah List

Dutch Sheets:
Parents: Armed and Loaded with Prayer

Dutch SheetsWhen George McCluskey married and started a family, he decided to invest one hour a day in prayer, because he wanted his kids to follow Christ. After a time, he expanded his prayers to include his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every day between 11:00 A.M. and noon, he prayed for the next three generations.

As the years went by, his two daughters committed their lives to Christ and married men who went into full-time ministry. The two couples produced four girls and one boy. Each of the girls married a minister, and the boy became a pastor.

The first two children born to this generation were both boys. Upon graduation from high school, the two cousins chose the same college and became roommates. During their sophomore year, one boy decided to go into the ministry. The other didn't. He undoubtedly felt some pressure to continue the family legacy, but he chose instead to pursue his interest in Dr. James Dobsonpsychology. He earned his doctorate and eventually wrote books for parents that became bestsellers. He started a radio program heard on more than a thousand stations each day.

The man's name—James Dobson.

Talk about the power of prayer! The next time you're blessed by Focus on the Family or one of Dr. Dobson's books, thank God for a generational watchman, George McCluskey. Many kids aren't as blessed with praying fathers.

At a 1994 Promise Keepers' conference in Denton, Texas, Pastor James Ryle told his story:

When he was two-years-old, his father was sent to prison. When he was seven, authorities placed him in an orphanage. At 19, he had a car wreck that killed a friend. He sold drugs to raise money for his legal fee, and the law caught up to him. He was arrested, charged with a felony and sent to prison.

While in prison James accepted Christ, and after he served his time, he eventually went into the ministry. Years later he sought out his father to reconcile with him. When they got together, the conversation turned to prison life.

James's father asked, "Which prison were you in?"

James told him, and his father was taken aback. "I helped build that prison," he said. He had been a welder who went from place to place building penitentiaries.

Pastor Ryle concluded, "I was in the prison my father built."

Indeed! In more ways than one.

These are amazing stories, powerfully contrasting two possibilities. We can either build prisons for our children or through prayer build fruitful lives that bless others.

ALL HE CAN DO IS PRAY

The same stories could be told by millions around the world. Change the names, a detail here and there, but the bottom lines are the same: success or failure, life or death, fruitfulness or barrenness, bondage or freedom—results that are largely determined by the influence of righteous or unrighteous parents.

Never underestimate the power of a praying parent!

As we think about the importance of watching intercession for individuals, most of us probably think immediately of our families, as well we should. Our personal gardens, as our opening stories reveal, are where we must begin.

Quin Sherrer has taught much on the subject of praying for family members. In her book Good Night, Lord, she relates an occasion of interceding for her son:

"I clearly remember a day when the Lord spoke to me about my teenage son, Keith, as I walked the beach. Deeply concerned about his spiritual condition, I felt he was drifting further and further from the Lord. My only recourse was prayer. I realized that as a parent, I had made so many mistakes. So I asked the Lord to forgive me.

"That afternoon, as I walked alone, I proclaimed aloud Scriptures tucked away in my heart. 'The seed of the righteous shall be delivered,' I shouted into the wind 'Because of Jesus' Blood I am righteous and my children are my seed and they shall be delivered,' I paraphrased. 'All my children shall be taught of the Lord, and great will be their peace,' I paraphrased again (see Proverbs 11:21; Isaiah 54:13, KJV).

"Over and over, I repeated Scriptural promises God had given me for my children. I desperately needed an answer for my son. After more than an hour of this, I reached down and picked up a small brown shell being tossed about by the waves. 'Trust me to polish and perfect your son,' the Lord seemed to whisper to my spirit as I turned the shell over in my hand.

"I took my shell home, cleaned it and set it where I could see it whenever I cooked. 'Lord, You promised,' I would say some days as I cradled it in my palm. Even after Keith left for college and I saw little change, I thanked God for His word that He and He alone would perfect my son whom I loved so very much.

"Our prayer battle ended one night when Keith called to ask his father and me to forgive him; we asked him to forgive us, too. He had started his pilgrimage back to the Lord. After college and a short career in graphic arts, he enrolled in Bible school.

"Not long ago, Keith finished seven years of service with the Youth With A Mission organization (YWAM)...Today he's a godly husband to a wonderful wife and the father of two young daughters. My 'promise shell' still sits in my kitchen, testimony to a prayer answer God gave me so many years ago. That promise shell is also a watchman shell, for that is the watchman anointing!"

Quin also shares prayer steps she uses in being a watchman for her children:

• Be specific;
• Pray Scripture passages aloud;
• Write down your prayers;
• Pray in accordance with God's will;
• Pray for your children's future.

In another of her books, The Spiritual Warrior's Prayer Guide, she and Ruthanne Garlock give Biblical examples of how to do this by offering the following Scriptural prayers:

• That Jesus Christ be formed in our children (see Galatians 4:19);

• That our children—the seed of the righteous—will be delivered from the evil one (see Proverbs 11:21, KJV; Matthew 6:13);

• That our children will be taught of the Lord and their peace will be great (see Isaiah 54:13);

• That they will train themselves to discern good from evil and have a good conscience toward God (see Hebrews 5:14; 1 Peter 3:21);

• That God's laws will be in their minds and on their hearts (see Hebrews 8:10);

• That they will choose companions who are wise—not fools, nor sexually immoral, nor drunkards, nor idolaters, nor slanderers, nor swindlers (see Proverbs 13:20; 1 Corinthians 5:11);

• That they will remain sexually pure and keep themselves only for their spouse, asking God for His grace to keep such a commitment (see Ephesians 5:3,31-33);

• That they will honor their parents (see Ephesians 6:1-3).

My fellow watchman, most of us will never be called to lay our lives down in a literal sense. But every Believer is called to a life of prayer. In fact, we are called to be our brothers keeper—yes, the word is watchman. How much more should we keep "watch" for our own children whom the Lord has entrusted to us? I encourage you to pick up the serpent-killing mantle God is offering. Use it daily!

Together for Israel - Scott Volk

Scott Volk was born on January 4, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York.
His father, Shelly, along with his mother, June, were successful
American Jews enjoying an upper-middle-class lifestyle when
Jesus radically transformed their lives in the early 1970′s you can
read their riveting testimony in June Volk’s book
The God Who Answers By Fire: A Jewish Saga).

It was in the summer of 1975, while the Volk family was visiting
Art Katz’s community in Northern Minnesota, that Scott
gave his life to the God of Israel, recognizing Jesus as the
Messiah of Israel and the savior of the world. One year later, the
Volks moved to Northern Minnesota and served with Art in
what was to be a life-long relationship until Art went home to
be with the Lord in 2007.

After graduating high school in 1982, Scott completed two years of
study at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas, and then transferred
to North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he
received his bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Studies. Upon graduating in
1988, he married Beth and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he
served on the pastoral staff of a church until 1996. It was late in that
year when Dr. Michael Brown (www.askdrbrown.org) invited Scott
to join him in Pensacola, Florida, to serve as personal assistant to him
and help with the administrative details of his growing ministry.

From 1997-2005, Scott had the privilege of serving in ministry with
Dr. Brown as they traveled together around the world in all sorts of
 ministry settings. When the ministry that Dr. Brown birthed moved to
Charlotte, North Carolina, a church was planted and Scott was
asked to serve as the lead pastor of FIRE Church. He remained in
that position until September of 2012, when he stepped down to
dedicate himself to seeing Hineni expand into all that the Lord
has destined it to be.

A DEFINING MOMENT

Although a Jewish believer in Jesus since age 10, Scott rarely
identified with his Jewish roots or the Messianic culture; he actually
felt more comfortable and at home in ‘church’ settings. After completing
a tour which he leads annually to Israel, Scott was returning home on
his trans-Atlantic flight when the unexpected happened:

“It was in June of 2010 while on a flight home from Israel that the
Lord did a remarkable and most-unexpected work in my life. It was
as if everything that I’ve heard from my childhood about Israel and
God’s burden for that land and its people, went from my head to
 my heart. I felt at that moment as if God, Himself, gave me
revelation as to the calling that He had on my life with regard to the
lost sheep of the house of Israel. Before this time, I’m ashamed to
say that Israel was barely on my grid. In a nondescript and totally
unexpected moment, I feel as if my life was radically changed. I now
feel as if I’ve been born again again.”

As a result of that momentous flight, doors are miraculously opening
for Scott to express this message to churches, bible studies, and
conferences around the globe.

ARAB AND JEW – ULTIMATE RECONCILIATION

Another amazing aspect of Scott’s story is that his family is a living
demonstration of the one new man message. Scott, a full-blooded
Jew, and Beth, a full-blooded Arab (grandparents from both sides
from Lebanon), have been happily married for over 23 years and
have five beautiful children.

“I think it’s amazing that my kids have a little bit of Ishmael and a
little bit of Isaac inside of them all. I’m foolish enough to believe
that somehow, through the simple message of our family being truly
united, that we can bring an empowering message of hope and
reconciliation to the seemingly hopeless situation that faces many of
our Arab and Jewish brothers in the world today. The Messiah’s
prayer in John 17 indicates that the world would know that He was
sent from the Father when those that believe in Him are one. The
greatest evangelistic tool that we have today is the unity of the Spirit
and it’s my prayer and desire to contend for that unity wherever I
am privileged to go.”

The Volks reside in Charlotte, North Carolina along with their 5
children Alysa, Jonathan, Joseph, Emily, and Olivia.
