How Does God Spend His Time? ✡ "The Eyes of Hashem" - ISRAEL365

It is a land which Hashem thy God careth for; the eyes of Hashem thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

Today's Israel Inspiration

This verse in Deuteronomy is the only time the Bible tells us how God “spends His time”. From the beginning of the year until the end, the Creator of the entire universe focuses His eyes and attention on the Land of Israel. Indeed, individuals who choose to regularly devote their attention to the welfare of the Land of Israel are following the example of none lesser than the Divine. For Bible believers who seek to emulate God as much as possible, this calendar will allow you to make a daily connection with the Land of Israel as He does.

With God By Our Side,
We Can Rise Again

Prayer helps us to focus on what we need to do in order to succeed. And whatever God’s answer, it’s always what’s best for us.

A little dose of Israel trivia: Did you know? In the Babylonian Talmud, Flavius Josephus, the noted historian, refers to the Sea of Galilee as the "Sea of Ginosar", after the small fertile plain of Ginosar that lies on its western side.

Shabbat Inspiration

If we had to choose a “favorite” Sabbath Torah portion, Parshat Ekev would be the one! It includes the verse which was the inspiration for Israel365, the only time the Bible teaches us what God does each and every day, “His eyes are upon it (the Land of Israel) from the beginning of the year till the end.” For those of us Bible believers who seek to emulate God as much as possible, we must stop and learn it by heart and commit ourselves to making a daily connection with the Land of Israel as He does. Israel365 is spreading the beauty and significance of the Land of Israel each and every day to hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. However, in order to continue this labor of love, we need your help, now more than ever.

This Just In: Scenes of Israel Kippa!

Created by two former lone soldiers, these stunning Kippas are adorned with scenes of Israel that will make you feel closer to home and close to God every moment of the day. Though there is no explicit mention of the Kippa in the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud teaches of the obligation to cover one’s head upon mentioning God’s name in order to exhibit true humility in the face of his Creator. The Kippa, therefore, is a reminder to the wearer of the importance to constantly keep God on one’s mind, enabling one to remain humble and refrain from sin.

Rabbi Tuly Weisz - Did I ever tell you the story behind Israel365?

Dear Friends,

I don’t know if I ever told you the story of how I came up with the idea behind Israel365. A few years ago, I began reading my Tanakh from beginning to end underlining and highlighting all the references to the Land of Israel. I still remember that I was just blown away with how frequently God lovingly describes His promised land.

A few weeks in, I came upon the verse in Deuteronomy 11:12 describing Israel as the place on earth God gazes upon “from the beginning of the year till the end.” It then hit me that there should be a way for people to follow in God’s divine footsteps by also looking towards the land of Israel each day of the year and I thought of a calendar called “Israel365”. That’s right, Israel365 was supposed to be a simple calendar!

That idea never materialized but clearly God had other plans for Israel365 that involved a website and an email newsletter, which thanks to His blessings, goes out to over 200,000 people every day. Nevertheless, I always loved the idea of having a calendar with photos of Israel so I could keep my eyes focused on the land of Israel every day of the year.

This year, we printed 1,000 Israel calendars and have exactly 60 left.

We don’t want these 60 calendars to sit in a box for the rest of 2016 when they can be hanging up in your home so we decided to give them out for free on our e-store. Buy anything in our e-store and the first 60 customers will get a free 2016 Israel Calendar.

There will certainly be ups and downs in the months ahead, but one thing will remain constant, God’s love for the Land of Israel and our love for the Land of Israel.

Thanks for listening to my story and I look forward to spending the rest of 2016 together, learning together, and connecting with Israel each and every day.

Shalom,

Rabbi Tuly Weisz
