"Har Ha'Beit B'Yadeinu!" - "The Temple Mount is in our hands" - ISRAEL TODAY

This announcement crackled over Israel's military radios on June 6, 1967
This was one of the most important announcements of the Six Day War in 1967. "The Temple Mount is in our hands" - these six words caused soldiers to burst into tears and changed the history of Jerusalem forever.
Jews around the world had been waiting to pray at the Western Wall, the remains of the temple, since the occupation of Jordanian forces of the Old City of Jerusalem in 1948. The radio announcement of Motta Gur fulfilled the dream of the Jewish nation.
Our soldiers guard the borders of Israel indefatigably. They protect the very existence of the country, which has been so hard-fought for. On the auspicious occasion of the Jubilee Jerusalem Day celebrations, you will find an offer which includes a solidarity package for our soldiers!
On offer now! A special subscription package which includes a subsidised Soldiers Solidarity Package. You can purchase an annual subscription to Israel Today and pay half price for a Soldiers Solidarity Package. We will make up the other half of the Soldiers Solidarity Package.
In our June Golden issue, you will find great articles such as...
  • Nostalgic pictures, combined with modern and current photos
  • Personal quotes and life stories
  • Golden memories and insights
  • Timelines and trips to past epochs
  • And so much more...

Celebrating the miracle stories of 1967 - ONE FOR ISRAEL Dr. Erez Soref

May 22, 2017

Shalom!

"When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream..." Ps 126:1

This Wednesday on Jerusalem Day, we will be celebrating 50 years of the reunification of Jerusalem. For so many years, Jewish people could only pray and long for Jerusalem, but through the remarkable and miraculous events of 1967, God restored the city of Zion to the people of Israel.

"Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them."

Israeli soldiers in wonder and awe, Jerusalem 1967

Yet still, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and for the salvation and well-being of all her inhabitants. 1967 was a significant year in many respects, but true shalom will only come when Yeshua returns.

In the meantime, we are constantly working to make sure that the gospel reaches everyone in Israel! Just as we have produced many videos tackling common questions that Jewish people ask, we are now also working on a parallel series in Arabic, which we will be filmed later this year.

For now, here's the latest one from Moti and Eitan, showing how the Bible is full of very specific prophecies about the Messiah:

COME AND SEE THE PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL RESTORATION

For thousands of years, believers would have heard the biblical stories about Israel, and yet would've seen the Jewish people scattered about the earth with but a small remnant living in the Land. As empire after empire overran her borders, it would have been easy to think God would not be faithful to His promise to Israel to regather her a second time (see Isaiah 11:11-12). But here we are today, just one year out from celebrating modern Israel's 70th birthday, and we can say with full confidence God has indeed been faithful! The descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are back in the land God promised to them, and not only that, but a spiritual restoration has begun as well.

Why not come and see for yourself the amazing rebirth of Israel on one of our unique ONE FOR ISRAEL Ministry Trips? We'll not only take you to the biblical sites, but we'll also introduce you to local Jewish and Arab believers and provide hands-on opportunities to serve Israelis, demonstrating to them in word and deed the love of Yeshua (Jesus). With space still available on our upcoming June and November trips, it's not too late to join us! Simply go to oneforisrael.org/about-us/ministry-trips, select a trip, and follow the instructions to sign-up! We'd love to have you!

THE MIRACLES OF THE 1967 WAR

As marvelous as this victory is in our eyes, we are mindful that the events of the Six Day War has led to some very hard repurcussions. Was this victory really from God? Here are some of the ways we can see God's handiwork in the events of 1967. Continue reading...

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM?
Psalm 122 urges us to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem", or more literally, to ask about shalom for Jerusalem. What does it mean? Is it talking here about the need to pray for the city itself - for the dirt and stones, or for spiritual salvation, as true peace starts within? Or a bit of both? Let's look at what the Bible has to say about the significant city, and some suggestions about how we can pray today. Continue reading...

Find the Star of David in Nature ✡ "If You Follow My Statutes"

If you follow My statutes and observe My commandments and perform them, I will give your rains in their time, the Land will yield its produce, and the tree of the field will give forth its fruit.

Shabbat Inspiration

Look closely at today's verse; are the beautiful blessings promised by God material or spiritual in nature, and why? Notice that only material rewards for prosperity are listed, with no mention of earned spiritual merit. Our Sages found this strange and explained it as follows: One who has food and security, and all of his needs met, will find it easier for continue fulfilling God's commandments, which obviously earns spiritual rewards as well. Join Karmey Chesed (Vineyards of Kindness) in bringing down blessings to the world and providing the poor of Israel with all their needs!

New Music Video for Terror Victim

This new music video expresses the beauty of the constantly outstretched hands of a young Israeli woman, Dalia Lemkus, obm, who was a giant in kindness to the sick and infirm. She was murdered by a terrorist last summer.

Jerusalem Day this Sunday!

It was 48 years ago this coming week that the IDF, with great heroism and Divine providence, liberated the Jewish People’s historic holy capital. This led, within a very short time, to its official unification under Jewish sovereignty for the first time in nearly 1,900 years.

Shivat Pomegranate Body Peeling Oil

The pomegranate is a symbol of beauty and fertility, well known for its healing capacity, high antioxidant contents and richness in vitamins and nutrients. This soothing body oil with natural pomegranate is made in Israel by Shivat ("seven") referring to the biblical seven species which all contain healthful nutrients that benefit the body and promote wellness.

Today's Israel Photo

Yehuda Poch's photo of a pomegranate ("rimon") in Israel. At its crown, the pomegranate has a six part star and is the only place the Magen David / Star of David appears in nature. According to Jewish teachings, the numerous seeds in the Pomegranate represent the 613 commandments of the Torah.
