'Selling Baby Parts Like Widgets on an Assembly Line': Pro-Lifers Blast P. Parenthood - CBN News Paul Strand

'Selling Baby Parts Like Widgets on an Assembly Line': Pro-Lifers Blast P. Parenthood

02-14-2017 CBN News Paul Strand

WASHINGTON -- Prominent pro-life speakers took on various issues concerning Planned Parenthood during this weekend's #ProtestPP rallies. Demonstrators gathered at some 200 locations across the nation to protest forced taxpayer funding of the abortion giant.
At a rally in front of a clinic in Orange, California, undercover investigator David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress blasted Planned Parenthood for its alleged trade in body parts of the unborn.
"This Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino County is one of the places – this exact clinic right behind me, this exact mega-center where they do abortions up to six months – this clinic is one of the places where for years and years they have been harvesting and selling the body parts of our unborn brothers and sisters, like so many widgets on an assembly line," Daleiden stated.
Daleiden was part of the undercover investigative team that released shocking videos of Planned Parenthood employees talking about this gruesome practice of harvesting those body parts.
"We now know for almost eight years this Planned Parenthood clinic was partnered with DaVinci Biosciences and DV Biologics up in Yorba Linda, where every week, multiple times a week, their technicians would come into the center and harvest the body parts of late-term aborted children and then re-sell them to make half-a-million dollars every year," Daleiden charged.
He added, "Planned Parenthood knew that this was going on for eight years.  They received kickback contributions from DaVinci in exchange for the relationship.  And for eight years they used a fraudulent inaccurate consent form to try to coerce their patients to give consent for their body parts to be harvested and sold for profit against the law."
"They are an integral part of the criminal trade in the body parts of our unborn brothers and sisters and they must be held accountable to the law for their barbarism," Daleiden said.
Speaking at a rally in Aurora, Illinois, Jill Stanek of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List talked about how Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion scene.
She spoke of Planned Parenthood's record of "killing one in three babies in the United States from abortion.  Their percentage of abortion increased from 20 percent to 34 percent in just six years."
Stanek also noted that the amount of taxpayer funding going to the abortion giant has soared in recent years.
"I'm sure that this is in line with President Obama being in charge: Planned Parenthood's proceeds from our tax dollars increased by 50 percent since 2007," she said.
At the same rally in Aurora, Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League blasted Terry O'Neill, president of the National Organization for Women Foundation, for her recent written critique of pro-life health care advocates.
"One of the things she complained about in her article was the website GetYourCare.org," Scheidler told CBN News.
"When someone says, 'Well, how are women going to get their health care?' – they're going to go to GetYourCare.org and they're going to find health care that they need in their community.  O'Neill was complaining that that list of health care providers included dentists," he said.
"Some of them are dentists!" Scheidler gasped in a tone of mock outrage, then asked, "Show of hands: Whoever's been to the dentist?"
Every hand at the rally went up.
Then the pro-life leader asked, "Can you go to Planned Parenthood for dental care?  No.  Can you go to Planned Parenthood for the flu?  No.  Can you go to Planned Parenthood if you've got a broken leg?  No."
He continued, "Can you go to Planned Parenthood if you've got behavioral issues, depression, heart disease, if you've got a problem with sleep, if you've got back pain?  One of the most common problems Americans have: back pain.   Planned Parenthood?  Can't help you."
Referring again to the pro-abortion NOW Foundation president, Scheidler concluded, "Terry O'Neill thinks the only thing a woman needs to see a doctor for is an abortion or maybe some contraceptive pills.  Doesn't that show you their mentality?"
"That they would complain we're trying to connect women to dentists along with other kinds of health care," he continued. "We believe in comprehensive health care for Americans.   We want to provide that any way we can."
"And that's what GetYourCare.org is about," he concluded. "And that's the difference between the pro-life movement and the pro-death movement."

Judge Gorsuch: A Dream Pick for Supreme Court? - CBN News Paul Strand

Judge Gorsuch: A Dream Pick for Supreme Court?
01-30-2017
CBN News Paul Strand

WASHINGTON--The U.S. Supreme Court has been one justice short for almost a year now after the death of Antonin Scalia last February. That's why President Donald Trump this Tuesday – just a week-and-a-half into his presidency - will announce who he's nominating to fill Scalia's vacant seat.
Candidate Trump promised to pick from a list of 21 names, all constitutionalists, all likely to lean pro-life.
However, ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl tweeted that a White House senior administration official told him the Supreme Court's short list is down to Neil Gorsuch & Thomas Hardiman.
No matter who it is they will face rock-hard opposition from Democrats in the Senate, where confirmation hearings will be held.
"They're Going to Shake Their Fist"

Curt Levey at Freedomworks and the Committee for Justice said of these Democrats, "I think it's fair to say no matter who Trump nominates, they're going to shake their fist. So I think it comes down to how much ammunition will they have?"

Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network added, "Everyone on this list is going to get major attacks from the Left.  And that's because they do have a very strong record of upholding constitutional fidelity."
Supposedly at the top of the list is 10th Circuit appeals judge Neil Gorsuch.

"He has one of the most stellar academic resumes of the bunch, and we're talking about some pretty tough competition," Severino stated.  "He went to Harvard Law School, he was a Marshall Scholar, he had not one but two Supreme Court clerkships."

Caring For The Constitution
For Trump, with all his nominees, the question wasn't what party do they belong to - whether they're Republican or Democrat - but whether they're a constitutionalist.  It's not about what they think of the law, but what the Constitution actually says the law is.

And Levey said that's definitely what Gorsuch is.

"He really does impress people as a rule of law guy.  He'll follow it where it goes," Levey explained.

Severino said of Gorsuch's rulings, "Particularly some good decisions on religious liberty issues.  He was part of the court that heard the Hobby Lobby case as well as the Little Sisters of the Poor case.  And voted the right way on both of those as far as I'm concerned, defending religious liberty and standing up for the rights in those two cases."

Liking Gorsuch…Until He Gets Nominated
Levey said of Gorsuch, "Highly regarded by nearly everyone even on the Left. Of course, they'll forget that if he gets nominated."

Severino said of Gorsuch and the Left, "The same religious freedom cases that we would view as 'wow, this is great,' this shows that he understands the First Amendment, he understands the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and our fundamental rights, is something that the Left is going to see as a threat."

Will conservatives or pro-lifers find anything about Gorsuch to oppose.?  Nit-picky stuff, Severino suggested.

"People were complaining that he signed onto an opinion that used the word 'fetus' instead of calling it an 'unborn child.'   The level of pickiness that we're looking at here, Justice Scalia would not have passed this threshold," Severino insisted.
Second Possible: Thomas Hardiman
The other name rumored to be on the top of the list is Third Circuit judge Thomas Hardiman, who just happens to serve alongside Trump’s sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry.
The three judges on his list of 21 possible candidates Trump has actually met with recently: Gorsuch, Hardiman, and Pryor.
Severino admires the way Hardiman fills many hours outside work volunteering and doing charitable work.
“He came up from working class roots,” Severino said, adding, “He drove a taxi for his family business, growing up to work his way through school.  He just sounds like he’s a great guy.”
Hardiman is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and gun rights.  In a religious liberty case, he sided with a mother and son when the boy wasn’t allowed to read Bible verses during a kindergarten show-and-tell at his public school.
Levey said of Trump picking Hardiman, or for that matter anyone on Trump’s list of 21, “I really would be and I think the vast majority of conservative attorneys would be very happy."
Pryor Possibly In Trouble
11th Circuit judge William Pryor seemed to have the inside track for a few weeks.
Severino suggested that was because "He has a very distinguished record of constitutional fidelity.  So many great decisions.  There are some really good ones on religious freedom."
But his past controversial comments on topics like abortion may cause an apocalyptic bitter battle in the Senate.   And Trump may want to avoid that much trouble this soon into his new presidency.
"Your best bet is to go with the best person that you think has a reasonable chance to get confirmed," Levey explained.
But Severino appreciates Pryor's willingness to say what he believes in past hearings.
"He was very outspoken during his confirmation hearings and got a lot of flack from the Democrats at the time," Severino said.  "Because they asked him straight up 'what do you think of Roe vs. Wade (that legalized abortion)?'  And he said, 'it's an abomination, a constitutional abomination.'  So kudos to him for being able to say it like it is."

Prophetic Prayer Warriors Form a Shield Around Donald Trump

PAUL STRAND/CBN   charisma news
The incoming Trump administration is all over the secular news these days with talk of what the president-elect is doing, his naming of cabinet nominees and now their various hearings.
There's also a lot of spiritual news concerning the Trump administration here in Washington. On Thursday, a new group called POTUS Shield (as in President of the United States) gathered inside the National Press Club.
There are hundreds of prayer warriors and a number of well-known prophetic types like Cindy and Michael Jacobs. They've come together to build a prayer shield and speak words of life into the Trump administration.
"We're really not looking for Mr. Trump or any human to change America, but we know God can and will do it," Alveda King, director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, told CBN News at the POTUS Shield gathering.
On Capitol Hill, a number of pastors from Virginia and Maryland gathered to pray for and cheer on Ben Carson, the HUD Secretary nominee, at his Senate hearing.
Virginia Beach Pastor Eric Majette said, "We're actually a prayer group. We pray for leaders across our nation—a group of pastors come together to pray for our nation and our leaders, particularly the new administration."
Richmond Pastor Leon Benjamin spoke to the fears of many in the African-American community that the Trump administration means trouble for them.
"We must believe for the best," Benjamin told CBN News. "It doesn't matter who is in the White House as long as there is faith that God has not forsaken us and that He has not left us because of a transition of power. That would be dreadful for us as pastors and leaders to say 'Oh my God, we're doomed now!' So we're very hopeful."

Faith Leaders React to Trump Victory: Mainstream Media Plot 'Backfired' - CBN News Paul Strand

Leaders React to Trump Victory: Mainstream Media Plot 'Backfired'
11-11-2016
CBN News Paul Strand

WASHINGTON – Donald Trump earned a lot of support from evangelical voters in this election, more than Mitt Romney did in 2012. Now Christian leaders are sharing their reactions to the Trump triumph, depending on their particular ministry or work.
Ralph Reed set a goal for his Faith and Freedom Coalition to convince a record number of Christians to go the polls on Election Day.
"To have Donald Trump get 81 percent of the evangelical vote, which is higher than Ronald Reagan got, it's higher than George W. Bush got – and to have Hillary Clinton get a lower share of that vote than Michael Dukakis got is pretty extraordinary," he said.
Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center points to the role the mainstream media played in Tuesday's results.  Bozell regularly criticizes the liberal agenda of networks and newspapers and believes that's the major reason they have loss the public trust.
"Advancing Hillary Clinton, but more importantly, trying to destroy Donald Trump…and then with WikiLeaks, we learned that they were actually working with the campaign, which we assumed all along, but the evidence came out," Bozell told CBN News.
"So the public saw this. The public saw that they too were considered a basket of 'Deplorables' in the eyes of the national media.  And it backfired on them," he explained.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, with the Susan B. Anthony List, helped Trump capture the pro-life vote. She sees a mandate for the anti-abortion agenda.
"That means we've got smooth sailing to defund Planned Parenthood, to get a majority vote again on the Pain-Capable Act, that 20-week limit," Dannenfelser explained. "It means that pro-life Supreme Court justices will be nominated. Those are the commitments. And we'll put the Hyde Amendment, the No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion law permanently into law."
In a campaign in which the Left talked about a war on women, many women felt attacked if they didn't publicly back Clinton. While Penny Nance, head of Concerned Women for America, would like to see a woman president eventually, she's clear about what the priority should be.
"As the leader of Concerned Women for America, we are more than happy to wait for a female president who represents our values," Nance told CBN News.
"Concerned Women for America members are jubilant," she continued. "We're so thrilled to come out and support a candidate who agrees with us on the Supreme Court, the fact that we're going to have about 500 lower court judges now who are going to be pro-life."
Rev. Pat Mahoney with the Christian Defense Coalition decided to go to The White House the morning after the election and pray for whomever won the presidency.
"We can all agree on we want to see our nation strong.  We want to see our nation united. We want to reach out in justice to the poor and needy.  We want to stand for basic values that unite all Americans," Mahoney said.
So where does the nation go from here?
"This candidate, Donald Trump, and Mike Pence of course, has promised the pro-life movement more than any other candidate in presidential history," Dannenfelser said.
"We know that the country was much more conservative on social issues than the people who have been leading us," Nance said. "And now we're able to put the numbers to that and we're able to move forward and protect our nation, protect our children, protect the least of these: the unborn."

Pro-Life Priests Don't Mince Words on Who You Should Vote For - CBN News Paul Strand

Pro-Life Priests Don't Mince Words on Who You Should Vote For
10-20-2016
CBN News Paul Strand

WASHINGTON -- A group of Catholic leaders gathered in the nation's capital Thursday to say Americans have a duty to vote. And they insisted pro-life voters must vote for candidates who'll fight abortion.
Speaking at a news conference at the National Press Club, these priests and pastors didn't actually endorse any candidates by name. But they said the final presidential debate showed a stark difference between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton when it comes to abortion.
"The Republican Party overall and Mr. Trump in particular should challenge the Democrats on the extremism of their position, which as he articulated last night means abortion throughout pregnancy.  That's been the policy for a long time," Father Frank Pavone, head of Priests for Life, said.
The Catholic leaders at Thursday's gathering also said pastors and priests need to know it's completely legal for them to preach about the abortion issue.
"I see pastors wanting to stand up and say, 'The Church stands for the unborn. The protection of life is the first duty of government. We have to elect public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing the public,'" Pavone told CBN News.
Donald Trump (Pro-Life) and Hillary Clinton
One of the leaders at the news conference attacked Clinton's defense of late-term abortion and Planned Parenthood during the final debate as "reprehensible."
The priests are offering a voters' guide highlighting huge differences between the Democratic and Republican platforms this year. It can be found at votinginfo.net.

Pro-life Activists Fight to Keep Indicted Filmmaker Out of Prison - Paul Strand CBN News

Pro-life Activists Fight to Keep Indicted Filmmaker Out of Prison

CBN NEWS Paul Strand

WASHINGTON -- Supporters rallied outside the Harris County courthouse as indicted pro-life activist David Daleiden rejected a probation deal and announced plans to take on the district attorney in court next month.
Daleiden faces a second degree felony charge that could land him in prison for 20 years for using fake identifications to uncover Planned Parenthood's harvesting of unborn baby parts.
Click here to watch CBN Reporter Paul Strand's earlier report.
Fellow investigator Sandra Merritt turned herself into the court system Wednesday and was offered probation for her role in the covert investigation.
Daleiden rejected the disctrict attorney's deal and will instead go before the court March 28. His attorneys say the only thing they will accept from Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson is an apology.
"This D.A.'s office needs to apologize to David for dragging him down here and making him have to defend himself when the actual wrongdoers are not here today," they said.
"David is a modern-day hero. He has exposed something that has been occurring in abortion clinics all across this country and the fact that he is here today is a miscarriage of justice," they said. "And we believe once this case is done it will be dismissed, it will be thrown out, and we are hopeful that this D.A. will go after the real wrongdoer: Planned Parenthood."
Daleiden's defense attorneys argued that his actions were "fully within the tradition of undercover journalism" and the indictment was really intended to scare modern-day journalist from exposing the truth.
The attorney said additional incriminating information about the abortion provider will be presented to the district attorney.
Meanwhile, the courthouse was flooded with pro-life advocates who joined Daleiden at a press conference earlier Thursday.
Pro-life activist Rev. Patrick Mahoney condemned Anderson for "using her office for a politically motivated agenda."

"This is the only grand jury in America where someone was indicted for a fake drivers license. But its not a fake drivers license because their intent as journalists was to get to the truth," Mahoney said. "The fact that Devon Anderson has gone after them is really an embarrassment to this county."
Despite the criminal charges against Daleiden and Merritt, Mahoney said their efforts resulted in "the number one investigative journalism story in 2015."
"From their efforts over 12 states began their investigations of Planned Parenthood themselves. Numerous states voted to defund Planned Parenthood because of what David Deleiden and Sandra Merritt did," Mahoney explained.
"For the first time in history a bill went to a sitting president of the Untied States to defund Planned Parenthood. That's never happened in history before. All based on the work that David and Sandra did. This has lead to the most major expose of Planned Parenthood," he continued.
At the press conference, Daleiden also expressed his immense gratitude for the support and prayers he and Merritt recieved.
"I think we all know that every day that goes by the Texas authorities do not prosecute Planned Parenthood for their illegal trade of baby parts, they are sending a message to the entire country that the state of Texas is open right now for the sale of baby body parts," he said.
"But by your presence today you are all sending an equally strong message, if not stronger message, that the children of Texas and the children of Houston's body parts are not for sale," he said.
Mahoney showed supporters the 110,000 signatures from petitioners who demand the charges be dropped against two activists.
The signatures will be presented to Anderson. If she does not drop the charges, Mahoney said they will file charges against her for "ethical violations."
"If she still insists... we will do everything we can in our power to ensure that Houston has a new district attorney that respects justice and jails criminals and not citizen journalists," he concluded.
A prayer vigil for Daleiden and Merritt and their attorneys also followed the press conference as they continue to face the history-making legal battle.

Is This Dirty Little Secret Destroying Your Marriage? - PAUL STRAND/CBN NEWS CHARISMA NEWS

Is This Dirty Little Secret Destroying Your Marriage?

Join us on the new C-Pop podcast where Taylor and Jessilyn discuss, debate and sometimes deride pop culture with a strong sense of humor and a focus on Christ. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Pornography can rip a marriage right in two. It's threatening an increasing number of Christian marriages, according to those who counsel couples in the church.
Trena Mewborn—director of counseling at Lakeland's First Baptist Church at the Mall—sees it in about half the couples who come to her. But she told CBN News shame has kept it a largely hidden crisis in the church.
"That was the feeling: that nobody else in my church struggles; Christians don't look at pornography. Christians don't struggle with sexual sin," she said.
Greg Dyer got hooked on porn at 15.
"I can still picture the first images that I saw," he said. "That was always a part of my life, pornography was."
From Addiction to Affair
After years of hiding drug, alcohol and porn addictions, he left his wife, Cathy, when he went from the porn to a full-fledged affair. She was totally blindsided.
"I hadn't seen any of it. He was very good at hiding it," Cathy recalled. "And so I think one of the reasons probably it came out is he was just tired of hiding it."
But Greg repented after a frightening Holy Spirit encounter.
"You know that little voice in your head that you know you should listen to?" Greg asked. "It just said, 'What are you doing? I've protected you through the drugs, through all the alcohol, through all the unprotected sex that you've had, I've protected you. If this is how you're going to live, I'm done. I'm not going to protect you through that anymore.'"
Kevin Conrad—leader of the support groups at Lakeland's First Baptist Church at the Mall—now helps men like Greg fight their way free. But was once himself a porn addict, though he had good Christian parents and was saved at age 9.
"That still does not shield one from the temptations of the world," he explained. "I was never deceived about the right or wrong about that, yet I continued to do it."
Rearranging Life Around Pornography
His lust for the X-rated material went into overdrive when it hit the Internet.
"I began to rearrange my schedule in order to view pornography," he admitted.
And when it was revealed, his addiction deeply hurt his wife.
"She has subsequently struggled in our relationship with the security of the love and attention and devotion and affection that I owed to her as her husband," Conrad said. "So that's been the real tragedy in our marriage."

Matt Russell was hooked from age 18 on, and almost lost his marriage over the pornography before he finally wised up and repented.

"Something Different or It's the End of Us"
"I feel it was the third or fourth time I got asked to leave the house," he said with a laugh. "And I don't mean to make light of that, but it was like one of those watershed moments with us."
"I was very angry," Matt's wife, Danielle, said of the times she discovered he was still using porn. "Very angry, very hurt. Probably more hurt."
Matt remembered thinking, "There has to be something different or it's the end of us. I mean, there's only so much, even as two believers, that she can take."

They started going to Trena Mewborn and Kevin Conrad's church in Lakeland, Florida, where Pastor Jay Dennis makes fighting pornography and sex addiction a very public top priority.

Danielle was so relieved to hear other men and wives talk about the crisis porn had caused in their homes.
"I Really Had Felt Alone"
"How much it meant to me to hear that I wasn't the only female that was going through this," Danielle exclaimed. "Because I really had felt alone in most of my marriage."

Counselor Mewborn oversees Lakeland's First Baptist Church at the Mall's support groups and highly recommends such groups to those struggling to break free and stay free of pornography.
"And there's a lot more power in a team," she said, "even if it's just a team of two or three than it is when you feel like you're the Lone Ranger."

Matt Russell agreed, saying, "To think that you can go at it alone is foolishness."
Greg Dyer added, "You have to have help. God has to help. I couldn't have done it by myself. There's no way."
Can't Win by Yourself
Mewborn has counseled hundreds of addicts. She stated, "I personally don't know anyone who has successfully battled a really bad addiction by themselves."

"It's isolation that Satan wants you to employ because he can pick you off," Matt said.

Pastor Jay Dennis, author of Our Hardcore Battle Plan, believes the enemy has fooled people into thinking they can have both a good Christian walk and a hidden sexual life.
Dennis told CBN News, "Satan has convinced many men and I've heard them say, 'Guys will be guys.'"
Well, Conrad has seen these lusts steal people's careers, spouses and children.

"But most importantly and most tragically is their relationship and their ability to fellowship with Christ," he said.
You Don't Have to Give In
Dennis said in reply to that, "Jesus Christ came and lived a perfect life, faced every temptation that we face, went to the cross, died for our sin and He rose from the dead so that we wouldn't have to be the way we are, that we could change, that we wouldn't have to give in to our sinful natures."

After Cathy and Greg Dyer put their marriage back together, Cathy co-wrote with Pastor Dennis Our Hardcore Battle Plan for Women, a book to help those married to porn addicts and users.
She totally supports Lakeland's First Baptist Church at the Mall's open battle against the X-rated material, saying, "The more we as a church start putting it out there, I think the more people will feel like they can go to someone, they can ask for help, they can seek out some friends for accountability."

A grateful Danielle said of her husband, Matt, "We're in a place where it's safe for him to talk about it. If he says 'I'm struggling with this,' he's not going to be shunned. He has people he can call and say 'this is a struggle I'm having right now' and they will rally around him."

Pastor Dennis had hopeful words, saying, "I can tell you from having dealt with many men who have broken free, that the joy returns, the peace returns; they're not worried about getting caught. They're not worried; the guilt is gone, the shame is gone."

But the Florida pastor warns the truth of the matter is the porn lifestyle and the God lifestyle cannot be held in balance. Eventually one is going to shove the other out of the way.

March for Life Protesters Brave Blizzard to Speak for the Unborn - Paul Strand CBN News

March for Life Protesters Brave Blizzard to Speak for the Unborn
01-22-2016

CBN News
WASHINGTON -- Despite threats Washington officials might yank the March for Life's permit because of a dire storm threat, the march went on Friday.
Its participants refused to let a record-breaking blizzard bearing down on the nation's capitol stop them from their mission. Like in the 42 years before, they came determined to bear witness that multitudes of Americans hate abortion.
Starting on the National Mall, they've been marching on the Supreme Court to protest ever since it legalized abortion January 22, 1973. This year's theme: "Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand-in-Hand."
"I'm so thrilled with the theme of this year's march," Maureen Ferguson, senior policy advisor for The Catholic Association, told CBN News.
"It's so wild-timed because the pro-abortion side, of course, loves to use this as a political football and bandy around terms like 'the war on women.' But we know there's a war on women in the womb," she said. "Half of those babies aborted are little girls."
Catholic Association Senior Fellow Ashley Maguire explained the earliest American feminists were pro-life.
"Starting with the suffragettes who were fighting against slavery and then fought for their own rights to vote - they were very pro-life," Maguire said. "And so the idea that women are by nature pro-choice is completely false."
"And we know that abortion sadly leaves a woman wounded, sometimes physically; emotionally scarred with a hole in her heart for the rest of her life," Ferguson added.
"A woman's capacity to be a mother is empowering and it's a beautiful gift  that's a part of who she is as a person," Jeanne Mancini, who leads the March for Life, said.
Subverted author Sue Ellen Browder was once a pro-choice feminist working at Cosmopolitan. That is no longer the case.
"To be pro-woman is to be pro-life, and of course that's true," she told CBN News before speaking at the March for Life rally. "You know, women want to have babies. Babies bring us joy, happiness, wonder."
Lauren Handy, with the group Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, counsels women heading into abortion clinics. She gets angry at those who accuse her of waging a war on those women.
"I think they use inflammatory language and scare tactics when we try to meet the needs of both the child and the mother, because we know abortion hurts the mother, the father and the child," she said.
Monica Miller, with Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, rejects that the right to this procedure is a key component of women's liberation.
"The sadness and the tragedy of that skewed, perverted point of view - that we actually would have to kill someone, end the life of someone else in order to be free - that's not a freedom," she explained.
"It looks easier and more fun not to have babies sometimes," Browder added. "But in the long run, especially when you get to be my age, and you see the women that did have children and how happy they are and how blessed they are with grandchildren and all that - whereas the old ladies in the nursing home, because they thought they were all free and alone, they're still alone."
"Abortion impacts women negatively, both psychologically and physiologically," Mancini insisted. "In fact we're hearing this week from a new Marist poll that the large majority of Americans believe that abortion hurts women, that it's not good for women, by a 35 percent margin."
