Judge Gorsuch: A Dream Pick for Supreme Court? - CBN News Paul Strand

Judge Gorsuch: A Dream Pick for Supreme Court?
01-30-2017
CBN News Paul Strand

WASHINGTON--The U.S. Supreme Court has been one justice short for almost a year now after the death of Antonin Scalia last February. That's why President Donald Trump this Tuesday – just a week-and-a-half into his presidency - will announce who he's nominating to fill Scalia's vacant seat.
Candidate Trump promised to pick from a list of 21 names, all constitutionalists, all likely to lean pro-life.
However, ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl tweeted that a White House senior administration official told him the Supreme Court's short list is down to Neil Gorsuch & Thomas Hardiman.
No matter who it is they will face rock-hard opposition from Democrats in the Senate, where confirmation hearings will be held.
"They're Going to Shake Their Fist"

Curt Levey at Freedomworks and the Committee for Justice said of these Democrats, "I think it's fair to say no matter who Trump nominates, they're going to shake their fist. So I think it comes down to how much ammunition will they have?"

Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network added, "Everyone on this list is going to get major attacks from the Left.  And that's because they do have a very strong record of upholding constitutional fidelity."
Supposedly at the top of the list is 10th Circuit appeals judge Neil Gorsuch.

"He has one of the most stellar academic resumes of the bunch, and we're talking about some pretty tough competition," Severino stated.  "He went to Harvard Law School, he was a Marshall Scholar, he had not one but two Supreme Court clerkships."

Caring For The Constitution
For Trump, with all his nominees, the question wasn't what party do they belong to - whether they're Republican or Democrat - but whether they're a constitutionalist.  It's not about what they think of the law, but what the Constitution actually says the law is.

And Levey said that's definitely what Gorsuch is.

"He really does impress people as a rule of law guy.  He'll follow it where it goes," Levey explained.

Severino said of Gorsuch's rulings, "Particularly some good decisions on religious liberty issues.  He was part of the court that heard the Hobby Lobby case as well as the Little Sisters of the Poor case.  And voted the right way on both of those as far as I'm concerned, defending religious liberty and standing up for the rights in those two cases."

Liking Gorsuch…Until He Gets Nominated
Levey said of Gorsuch, "Highly regarded by nearly everyone even on the Left. Of course, they'll forget that if he gets nominated."

Severino said of Gorsuch and the Left, "The same religious freedom cases that we would view as 'wow, this is great,' this shows that he understands the First Amendment, he understands the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and our fundamental rights, is something that the Left is going to see as a threat."

Will conservatives or pro-lifers find anything about Gorsuch to oppose.?  Nit-picky stuff, Severino suggested.

"People were complaining that he signed onto an opinion that used the word 'fetus' instead of calling it an 'unborn child.'   The level of pickiness that we're looking at here, Justice Scalia would not have passed this threshold," Severino insisted.
Second Possible: Thomas Hardiman
The other name rumored to be on the top of the list is Third Circuit judge Thomas Hardiman, who just happens to serve alongside Trump’s sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry.
The three judges on his list of 21 possible candidates Trump has actually met with recently: Gorsuch, Hardiman, and Pryor.
Severino admires the way Hardiman fills many hours outside work volunteering and doing charitable work.
“He came up from working class roots,” Severino said, adding, “He drove a taxi for his family business, growing up to work his way through school.  He just sounds like he’s a great guy.”
Hardiman is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and gun rights.  In a religious liberty case, he sided with a mother and son when the boy wasn’t allowed to read Bible verses during a kindergarten show-and-tell at his public school.
Levey said of Trump picking Hardiman, or for that matter anyone on Trump’s list of 21, “I really would be and I think the vast majority of conservative attorneys would be very happy."
Pryor Possibly In Trouble
11th Circuit judge William Pryor seemed to have the inside track for a few weeks.
Severino suggested that was because "He has a very distinguished record of constitutional fidelity.  So many great decisions.  There are some really good ones on religious freedom."
But his past controversial comments on topics like abortion may cause an apocalyptic bitter battle in the Senate.   And Trump may want to avoid that much trouble this soon into his new presidency.
"Your best bet is to go with the best person that you think has a reasonable chance to get confirmed," Levey explained.
But Severino appreciates Pryor's willingness to say what he believes in past hearings.
"He was very outspoken during his confirmation hearings and got a lot of flack from the Democrats at the time," Severino said.  "Because they asked him straight up 'what do you think of Roe vs. Wade (that legalized abortion)?'  And he said, 'it's an abomination, a constitutional abomination.'  So kudos to him for being able to say it like it is."

The Three Key Reasons Why God Let Trump Become President - Hello Christian

The Three Key Reasons Why God Let Trump Become President

Hello Christian  Jan. 11, 2017

Donald Trump's inauguration is just days away. But the shock over his election win is still sinking in. How did he do it? What were the key elements? Were the prayers of the evangelical community a factor? Well, 'Focus On The Family' founder and evangelical Christian Dr. James Dobson believes that Trump's win boiled down to three key factors.
"I am convinced it is because of three primary factors," Dobson wrote following Trump's victory.
1. "The sanctity of human life."
President-elect Trump made his pro-life position explicit very early in his campaign. “Here’s what’s going to happen. I’m going to — I’m pro-life. The judges will be pro-life,” Trump said in an interview with 60 Minutes following his election win. He also chose a fiercely pro-life conservative Christian, Mike Pence, to be his running mate.
2. "The Constitutional guarantees of religious liberty that are being shredded."
Trump has been a bold advocate for protecting religious liberty, and this has gained him vast swathes of support. “I will protect religious freedom and I don’t care if that’s politically incorrect,” he said in a letter back in October.
3. "The promise by Mr. Trump to appoint pro-life justices to the Supreme Court."
President-elect Trump has always maintained his ambition to appoint pro-life judges to the Supreme Court, a move that will guarantee the rights of the unborn and shape the future of abortion legislation. Trump said in the past that his appointment of pro-life justices to the bench will lead to the overturning of landmark ruling Roe v Wade"automatically."

It's a Moment of Truth for John Kasich - LEAH JESSEN/THE DAILY SIGNAL CHARISMA NEWS

It's a Moment of Truth for John Kasich

LEAH JESSEN/THE DAILY SIGNAL   CHARISMA NEWS
The Ohio Legislature has passed and sent to Gov. John Kasich's desk a measure that would ban abortion after a baby's heartbeat is detected, about six weeks following conception.
Lawmakers passed the Unborn Heartbeat Protection Act on Tuesday as an amendment to a child abuse and neglect bill.
If signed by Kasich, the legislation would "generally prohibit an abortion of an unborn human individual with a detectable heartbeat," according to the language of the bill.
"Republicans are united that abortion is unacceptable in America," U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, said in a statement Wednesday. "Our party platform advocates for a complete ban on abortion and states that 'the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.'"
"Fetal heartbeat ... has become a key medical predictor that an unborn human individual will reach live birth," the bill asserts.
The Ohio House passed the bill 56-39 and the Senate 21-10.
Kasich, a Republican who generally is pro-life, has 10 days to sign or veto the legislation.
Kasich's press secretary, Emmalee Kalmbach, would not characterize the governor's inclination amid a flurry of activity in the legislature's lame-duck session.
"A hallmark of lame duck is a flood of bills, including bills inside of bills and we will closely examine everything we receive," Kalmbach told The Daily Signal in an email.
In 2014, however, Kasich said he had legal concerns about a "heartbeat bill," The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.
"At the moment of conception, a new and distinct human being comes into existence—someone who has inherent value and possesses a right to life," Melanie Israel, a research associate at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal. "By witnessing to this fundamental truth, the pro-life movement has seen significant victories in state legislatures in recent years."
The heartbeat abortion ban provides an exception in cases where a physician performs a medical procedure "designed or intended to prevent the death of the pregnant woman or to prevent a serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman."
"The passage of this legislation in the Ohio Senate demonstrates our commitment to protecting the children of Ohio at every stage of life," state Sen. Kris Jordan, R-Ostrander, said in remarks quoted by CNN.
Similar laws have been struck down by courts in Arkansas and North Dakota.
"A new president [and] new Supreme Court appointees change the dynamic, and there was consensus in our caucus to move forward," Ohio Senate President Keith Faber, R-Celina, said, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
In Washington, Davidson said:
The protections provided in the Unborn Heartbeat Protection Amendment are a step in the right direction in protecting the most vulnerable among us, the unborn. I look forward to this becoming law and saving countless lives in Ohio.
Both pro-choice and pro-life groups, however, question the legality of such legislation.
NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio labeled the heartbeat bill as "dangerous."
"Banning women from getting a medical procedure is out of touch with Ohio values and is completely unacceptable," Kellie Copeland, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, said in a prepared statement. "Clearly this bill's supporters are hoping that President-elect Trump will have the chance to pack the U.S. Supreme Court with justices that are poised to overturn Roe v. Wade."
In 1973, the Supreme Court case known as Roe v. Wade made abortion legal across the nation.
"Everyone is swept up in Trumpmania, but let's be realistic," Ohio Right to Life President Mike Gonidakis said of the prospects of the legislation in court, according to USA Today.
His pro-life group supports a ban on abortions after 20 weeks, when scientific evidence suggests unborn babies feel pain, but was neutral on the heartbeat bill.
"Both are previability [abortion] bans, but we believe [the 20-week ban] is the best strategy for overturning Roe v. Wade and will ultimately prove most palatable to the Supreme Court," Katherine Franklin, a spokeswoman for Ohio Right to Life, told The Hill.
Heritage's Israel, however, said the Ohio measure has value:
Advancing policies that protect the most vulnerable and defenseless among us will help hasten the day when every human being, from the moment of conception, is protected in law and welcomed in life.

5 Things The Pro-Life Movement Would Like to See From Trump and Congress - BOB ESCHLIMAN CHARISMA NEWS

5 Things The Pro-Life Movement Would Like to See From Trump and Congress

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS
Following President-Elect Donald Trump's victory on Nov. 8, and with both chambers of Congress firmly in Republican control, pro-life Americans now have hope that real progress can be made in the struggle to protect innocent lives from the brutality of abortion death.
To keep the GOP's feet to the first with regard to issues of life, Operation Rescue has issued its "Top 5" list of legislative priorities for the incoming Congress. While it is not an exhaustive list of everything that could be done, it is a start, the group's president, Troy Newman said.
"During the election, promises were made to pro-life/pro-family groups, and after Inauguration Day, it will be time to make those promises a reality," he said. "We can accept no excuse for failure."
The list includes:
  • Make conservative, pro-life nominations to the U.S. Supreme Court. The promise that Mr. Trump would appoint a pro-life justice to replace Antonin Scalia was one of the strongest promises made. Fulfilling this promise must be among the Administration's top priorities. Without solid justices that will uphold the Constitutional right to life, all other pro-life actions become subject to reversal.
  • Defund and prosecute Planned Parenthood. The majority of the American people oppose tax-funding for Planned Parenthood as long as it is in the abortion business. Money that now helps Planned Parenthood market abortions to vulnerable women should instead be reallocated to legitimate health care clinics so no one goes without the care they need. It must be a high priority to prosecute Planned Parenthood for the hundreds of alleged crimes related to the illegal trafficking of aborted baby remains, and for over-billing government funds for prescriptions and services. A strong message must be sent that abortionists are not above the law.
  • Pass the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This would ensure that babies at 20 weeks gestation and older have legal protections and cannot be aborted. This will end the savagery of poisoning and dismembering pre-born babies that are capable feeling pain.
  • Repeal Obamacare and its Abortion Mandate. Obamacare has been a disaster for the American people in general and for those of faith in particular, who have been forced to pay for abortion and birth control in violation of their religious liberties. There are ways to improve health care for Americans that do not involve paying for abortion and other services that violate the deeply held religious convictions of millions of Americans.
  • Extend the Select Panel on Infant Lives into the next Congressional session. It is important to continue the Select Panel's investigation into illegal abortion practices and trafficking in baby body parts, which is set to conclude at the end of the year, because of delay tactics that have left subpoenas unanswered. At the very least, any recommendations made by the Panel to state attorneys general or the Department of Justice should be respected and crimes prosecuted.
"It is our hope that the table can be set within the next four years for the complete abolition of abortion," Newman said. "That is our ultimate goal, and for the first time since Roe v. Wade, it is now possible to achieve it."

Trump Promises To Follow-Through On Supreme Court: "The Judges Will Be Pro-Life" - HelloChristian.com

Trump Promises To Follow-Through On Supreme Court: "The Judges Will Be Pro-Life"

HelloChristian.com 11.14.16

In an exclusive interview with CBS, Donald Trump sat down with "60 Minutes"  host Lesley Stahl and answered an array of question surrounding his campaign, his meet-and-greet with Obama, and his plans for the comencement of his presidency. He also vowed to follow through on his promise of pro-life supreme court judges.
"During the campaign, you said that you would appoint justices who were against abortion rights. Will you appoint-- are you looking to appoint a justice who wants to overturn Roe v. Wade?" asked Stahl. "So look, here’s what’s going to happen-- I’m going to-- I’m pro-life. The judges will be pro-life," Trump replied. "They’ll be pro-life, they’ll be-- in terms of the whole gun situation, we know the Second Amendment and everybody’s talking about the Second Amendment and they’re trying to dice it up and change it, they’re going to be very pro-Second Amendment. But having to do with abortion if it ever were overturned, it would go back to the states."
"Yeah, but then some women won’t be able to get an abortion?" says Stahl.
"Yeah, well, they’ll perhaps have to go, they’ll have to go to another state," Trump replied.
Trump insists that those protesting against him should not be afraid, and says that they "don't know me." "Don’t be afraid. We are going to bring our country back. But certainly, don’t be afraid. You know, we just had an election and sort of like you have to be given a little time. I mean, people are protesting," he said. "If Hillary had won and if my people went out and protested, everybody would say, “Oh, that’s a terrible thing.” And it would have been a much different attitude. There is a different attitude. You know, there is a double standard here."
And to those Trump supporters who are persecuting Latinos and Muslims, Trump says "Stop it."

Jentezen Franklin: This Will Be the Defining Election for America - CHARISMA NEWS

(Reuters photos)

Jentezen Franklin: This Will Be the Defining Election for America

JENTEZEN FRANKLIN  CHARISMA NEWS
What an extraordinary last few months of the 2016 election season we have all watched. Just when I think I've seen or heard it all, something else breaks and the flurry of media activity starts all over again. They say that this election season will go down as the most divisive in history. But for many, this will be the most defining election in modern history as two very different versions of America's future have been presented with no gray area between the polar opposite scenarios and directions. While there are millions who have locked in on a particular person running for president, there are millions more who have focused their attention, and their vote, not so much on the candidates but more so on the issues at stake. For example, when I see the candidates, I don't see so much this person or that person or their political parties. I look past the person and see the set of future Supreme Court justices each candidate will nominate. When viewed through that lens, it's easier to see what matters most when deciding how to cast my vote.
One such issue that is on the hearts and minds of so many voters, in every election cycle, is the tragic consequences of Roe v. Wade, which legalized the barbaric practice of abortion. Since its inception, this one landmark decision has not only legalized the death of over 54 million innocent babies, but has also destroyed the lives of millions of grieving and guilt-stricken women, unable to cope with what they have done.
The statistics associated with this tragic act read like a horror novel:
  • Over 54 million babies have been "legally" aborted since 1973.
  • Nearly half of all pregnancies are unintended, with 4 in 10 terminated by abortion.
  • In a recent year, over 1.06 million babies were aborted.
  • In 2014, 12 percent of all abortions in the US were by teenagers while most are in their 20s.
  • Twenty-seven percent of all abortions in the US are by women who declare as protestant or evangelical protestant.
  • Fifty-nine percent of all abortions in 2014 were by patients who had already experienced at least one previous birth.
  • One of the most common answers given for having an abortion were interference with work or school and an inability to care for the baby.
  • Ninety-one percent of all abortions happen up to the 13th week.
  • Thirty-four percent of all abortion providers perform abortions even at 20 weeks, and 16 percent will perform an abortion at 24 weeks.
In the third and final debate between the two presidential candidates the subject of abortion came up, leaving no margin for misunderstanding. The candidates proclaimed two entirely different views on this topic, but to my amazement, these two candidates took it one step further as the subject of late-term and partial birth abortion took center stage. When the horror and description of a partial-birth abortion was detailed in all its gory and horrific description, one candidate was horrified and in disbelief that one human could do this to another, while the opposing candidate stood firm in support and endorsement of this crime against humanity.
I remember praying, "My God, how far have we fallen?" Can the souls of 54 million babies crying out from their graves to their Creator go unnoticed by an all-knowing, all-present, just and righteous God? And when I see clearly that one candidate pledges to oppose this murderous act, while the other pledges to keep it legal and accessible with my tax dollars, I do not see the two individuals. What I see is one path that leads to destruction while the other path pledges to stand against it.
When it comes to the Supreme Court vacancies and abortion, my vote will always follow policy and value lines rather than party affiliations. I will always vote my values and my faith over personality and personal preference. A few days after the final debate, many made their views heard on social media. I was stirred deep inside, both with pride and affirmation, when I discovered that my own daughter, Caressa, had made a Facebook post that was so profound and well written:
A few months ago I listened to my baby's heartbeat at just 5 weeks old... he didn't look like a baby then, or have the obvious physical characteristics he does now but he was very much alive and just as human as he is now at 36 weeks ...
I am horrified, disturbed, and disgusted at the things that have come out the last few weeks... as a woman and Christian I personally find it inexcusable on every level.
With that being said, there are things that are a part of the foundation of my faith that I can't ignore 'The sanctity of life.' I think anyone who has had the opportunity to carry a child in their womb and experience the greatest miracle that God allows us to have on this earth would agree it is just that--- a miracle.
If this was the only reason why I have decided who to vote for, it's enough of a reason to me. I understand there are many other important issues facing our country today but I choose to vote on the most important one to me... my baby and his future.
I think any mother who has been used by God as a vessel to bring life into this world needs to protect and value life at every stage... whether the baby is in the womb or out of the womb.
In a subsequent post in response to my daughter's post, her friend, a labor and delivery nurse, stated the following:
Watching the debate, as a nurse who worked labor and delivery for many, many years, I feel the need to point out if a mother's life is in danger at any time after 24 weeks, let alone in the 9th month, the infant can be delivered via c-section to save the mother. The infant is given a chance at life. It does NOT need to be killed to save the mother. NEVER in the 9th month would that ever be a thought for most healthcare professionals. That's not healthcare. That's murder.
Christy Lee Parker
In 1994 Mother Teresa delivered a no-holds-barred pro-life speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in front of a sitting president and his wife. This is an excerpt from her speech:
But I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts.
Jesus gave even His life to love us. So the mother who is thinking of abortion, should be helped to love, that is, to give until it hurts her plans, or her free time, to respect the life of her child. The father of that child, whoever he is, must also give until it hurts. By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems. And, by abortion, the father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world. That father is likely to put other women into the same trouble. So abortion just leads to more abortion.
Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.
Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan was there and later wrote:
Well, silence. Cool deep silence in the cool round cavern for just about 1.3 seconds. And then applause started on the right hand side of the room, and spread, and deepened, and now the room was swept with people applauding, and they would not stop for what I believe was five or six minutes. As they clapped they began to stand, in another wave from the right of the room to the center and the left.
But not everyone applauded. The president and first lady, seated within a few feet of Mother Teresa on the dais, were not applauding. Nor were the vice president and his wife.
That president was Bill Clinton with his wife, current Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, sitting at his side. How prophetic were those words delivered by this humble messenger of God, and they ring as true today as they did years ago. These words still stand as a reminder today about just how important this single issue is in every election. While I do not and have not endorsed candidates or political parties, I can say with absolute certainty who I cannot vote for, and that is any candidate, in any race—federal or state—who stands for killing the unborn.

Chuck Pierce: Vote for How You Would Want to Be Visited - BOB ESCHLIMAN CHARISMA NEWS

Chuck Pierce: Vote for How You Would Want to Be Visited

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS
Chuck Pierce of Glory of Zion International Ministries has been waiting for the 2016 presidential election for eight years.
Having already prophesied the rise of President Barack Obama while traveling the country in 2005—three years before his election in 2008—the Lord caught him up a few months before that election with a new word about the future of the country. He said it's being played out right now.
"We were praying in Liberty Park, in New Jersey ... there were about 2,000 of us gathered there," he said in an exclusive interview with Charisma Caucus. "He showed me that in eight years, there would be a triumph of the people. He showed me 21 states are in alignment, but each could come into alignment.
"So, I asked how America will shift, and He took me state by state. It took four hours. But in the end, He told me, 'America needs to learn how to play the trump card.' That was eight years ago.
The "trump card," Pierce said, is Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who he has been watching the Lord put into a prominent position over the course of this election cycle. He hasn't endorsed the businessman-turned politician, but he believes the billionaire will play a key role in our nation's future.
The 2016 election and its outcome have far less to do with Trump, however, and much more to do with prayer and making timely decrees that will shift the power structures in America. There are only two possible outcomes, he added: America either makes "an incredible shift" to realign those structures with the Lord, or new structures will be put in place that will control our nation greatly for years to come.
"Mr. Trump is very—not part of the structure," he said. "He's going against the structure, which has turned our country away from the Lord rather than back to Him. The only way we're going to see our nation move back to the Lord is if we tear down the structure, which is stopping justice."
Pierce said the election all boils down to the Supreme Court, and he urges Christians to vote for what is necessary to bring back God-ruling order to the high court. Likening Trump—who has pledged to install judges of that type if elected—to Jephthah from the book of Judges, he said Christians need to "get past liking a candidate," noting the Lord used Jephthah—"a very wicked man"—and others to restore Israel.
"When the Lord removed the Jezebel spirit out of Israel, He didn't do it with the existing structures. He called up three judges," he said. "Without those three judges, the right prophetic voice and the transformers, it wouldn't have happened.
"We're rallying God's people. And now we'll watch as God begins to take America back again."
Pierce said, regardless of how the election goes, there will be a "major shift" in America. If Trump wins, the U.S. will be "better aligned" economically with other nations, and Israel will once again have a strong ally. If Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton wins, we will drift further from Israel and, as he put it, "the Cold War will get colder."
"My heart would be for the Lord to let your people play that triumph—that means trump card," he said. "We need to have a more triumphant spirit in the nation, and Christians need to learn to pray more strategically. We need to be better timed in how we make decrees."
He also said Christians need to vote based on how they want to be visited by the Lord.
"In the Bible, one of the definitions of 'visitation' is to cast a vote, in an overseer role," he said. "Christians have become caught up in whether or not we have a good candidate to vote for, but that's not the issue. We should vote for visitation.
"How do you want to be visited? Then, that is how you should vote. We should be voting to overturn the structure in America."
Piece said the Lord told him Ohio, Nevada and North Carolina will be the key states in the election, particularly North Carolina, which he said will be "the deciding factor" in what will happen in America. But even as we prepare for Election Day, he said Christians need to be prepared for what comes afterward.
"The body of Christ needs to do our part," he said. "We need to be sure we're pressed in for a change of our nation, and then leave the results up to the Lord."
If Clinton wins, he says he will "pray through and walk with it," but reminded Christian Americans that a new movement has arrived for the country. America won't be in the same prayer movement it has been in.
"We're really in for some big surprises," he said. "I think America is more volatile than we know, and whichever way the election goes, we're not going to be in the same type of nation we've known in the past. That's why I wrote in my book a chapter on why Christians need to learn war."
Pierce is doing his part to help prepare the body of Christ. Recently, he shared another word he received from the Lord about the changes that are coming for America.
Right now, he's traveling across the country with Dutch Sheets. In the past, he's traveled to all 50 states, but said the Lord told him to visit 22 key cities this year.
"We find an apostolic church that is open to gathering, and we get the word out and start praying and gathering," he said. "We should get about 1,000—maybe 1,500 or 2,000 people."
Pierce and Sheets were set to gather with believers in Las Vegas on Wednesday night as part of their 22-city swing through the country. Pierce said they are "rallying the troops" and praying for the nation to move back to the Lord again.
"That's the real key for us Christians," he said. "Do you have faith to pray? The Lord warned us a lot about the kingdoms on Earth, but His kingdom is a nation above nations, ... we know that prayer can change the course of a nation."

The Top 5 Reasons Hillary Clinton Should Not Be President - JOSEPH MATTERA CHARISMA NEWS

The Top 5 Reasons Hillary Clinton Should Not Be President

JOSEPH MATTERA  CHARISMA NEWS
This is the first part in a two-part series.
As most Americans already know, both the Democratic and Republican nominees for president have a low approval rating even within their own parties. Concerns abound with both candidates, even though both of them are far apart ideologically. I must be insane releasing an article like this since both pro Trump and pro Clinton friends may be upset by its contents; however, I have never been motivated by the accolades of people.
The following are the top five reasons a Hillary Clinton presidency concerns me.
1. Her Supreme Court Justice Selections
Clinton made it clear during the last debate that she will choose Supreme Court Justices who will uphold Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in 1973. She made no mention of choosing judges who will uphold the U.S. Constitution because she views the court as legislators who make laws. With the death of Antoine Scalia, the present court is virtually tied ideologically between constitutional literalists and liberals. If Clinton gets elected, she has the potential to choose up to three or more Justices, which will tilt the court to the left for generations to come. This is my No. 1 concern with a Clinton presidency. To quote Nathaniel Bruno of the ADF:
"To zero in on just one of the decisions identified above, Justice Ginsburg declared in her dissent in the Gonzales v. Carhart case (in which the Court upheld the federal ban on partial-birth abortion, based on a respect for the government's interest in protecting preborn life): 'Today's decision is alarming.' It is ironic and lamentable that Justice Ginsburg found the majority opinion alarming but was apparently not alarmed by the brutal practice of substantially delivering a fully formed, fully alive baby before crushing his or her skull. If Justice Ginsburg had her way, that barbaric procedure would be permitted throughout the United States."
2. Her View on the Freedom of Religion
Clinton is known to be against freedom of religion, which can eventually result in 501C3 revocation for religious organizations that do not comply with her societal views.
Mrs. Clinton stated, "Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed." For those who do not believe liberals would abrogate religious freedom, I want to make you aware that as of Oct. 1, all public organizations (including churches) have to comply with transgender bathroom laws in the state of Massachusetts. (Of course, I believe there is a humane and sensitive way to deal with this issue from the pulpit and in churches, but the point here is that the government is forcing its views upon religious entities). If Clinton becomes president, these laws will likely spread to every state, which will crush the first amendment and freedom of religion.
3. Her View on Abortion
It has been documented that Hillary Clinton has radical pro-abortion views, even until the third trimester. Hence, she is the only presidential candidate ever officially endorsed by Planned Parenthood. This is the same Planned Parenthood that harvests aborted baby parts for money.
Some people say that Planned Parenthood does other things besides abortions like providing mammograms and other family health services. My response, would you hypothetically support a racist organization like the KKK if they opened up a hospital? Of course not, then why support a legalized child killing organization like P.P. if they do a few good things?  Furthermore, it is well known that P.P. founder Margaret Sanger was an avowed white supremacist who wanted to use abortion to exterminate blacks. Instead of receiving their endorsement, Clinton should work to defund them. Unfortunately she chose the former.
4. Her Constant Scandals
The fact that there is always a scandalous cloud always hanging wherever Clinton goes is an understatement. Whether it is the 30,000-plus emails she deleted before the FBI investigation, to the Benghazi cover-up, to the whitewater scandal, to her involvement in causing unrest in Trump rallies and on and on and on, it's almost legion and too numerous for one article. Furthermore, as I write this article, everyday there are more "Project VERITAS" videos and WikiLeaks released daily that continually connect Clinton to other scandals not mentioned already. Can you imagine four more years of her scandals being front and center of the news every day?
5. Her Foreign Policy Disasters
Notable black economist Thomas Sowell lays out a litany of foreign policy disasters that took place while Clinton was Secretary of State that he says disqualify her from the presidency.
Whether it is participating in decisions that resulted in the formation of ISIS, the emboldening of Russia and China, the outrageous Iran nuclear arms deal, Benghazi and more, her foreign policy record is so dismal it would be a scary thing to see what would happen the next four years if she were president. Clinton may think Trump is reckless, but the director of the FBI, James Comey, is on record saying her actions regarding national security were "careless."

Dutch is very, very passionate in his video about the importance of this election. Below we share some highlights from his video such as:

"If we don't stop it now, you can forget recovery in four or eight years—it'll be 40 years. Because somebody's gonna stack this court with a minimum of two, three, maybe five appointees. And there going to end up in 4-8 years from now with a 7-2 advantage which will last a generation."

Please make sure and share this word and his video with everyone that you know. If Christians ever needed to come together as ONE VOICE...this is that time over our great nation of America! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

"Dutch Sheets' Strong Message to EVERY Christian: Start Measuring ... by What Is Really At Stake!"by Dutch Sheets, Dallas, TX

"You better take a stand, because you're not voting for a personality, you're voting for that Supreme Court!"

In a video posted on his Facebook page, well-known author, teacher and prophetic minister—Dutch Sheets shared a brief, but strong word for the Church. (Screengrab via Facebook)

Along with the video, Dutch added:
At Thursday night's #AppealToHeaven conference, I made some statements about the upcoming election. I firmly believe this election is about the Courts in our nation. The American Church must carefully weigh who they are voting for and what values they are going to support.

This election isn't about a personality; it's about the Courts and how they will shape our nation over the coming decades. May the Church hear more clearly than ever before. And may we be bold, standing for righteousness and Biblical values like never before.

In the video, Dutch warned, "If we don't stop it now, you can forget recovery in four or eight years—it'll be 40 years. Because somebody's gonna stack this court with a minimum of two, three, maybe five appointees. And there going to end up in 4-8 years from now with a 7-2 advantage which will last a generation."

Other points Dutch Sheets mentions:

• "I submit to the ChurchYou better stop playing games and judging in the natural and start judging by the spirit."

• "Enough of this religious, 'I'm not going to vote at all because I don't like anybody!'"

• "In the days of the Ekklesia, in Biblical times, you are not allowed as a member of the Ekklesia to not show up and voteyou had to vote. And I say to the ChurchYou're going to have to take a stand!"

• "You're not voting for a personalityYou're voting for that Supreme Court!"
