Anti-Semitism Spiking: 'They Start with Jews, but They Never Finish with Jews' - CBN News Dale Hurd

Anti-Semitism Spiking: 'They Start with Jews, but They Never Finish with Jews'

CBN News Dale Hurd
BRUSSELS, Belgium – Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the globe, especially in Europe. The world's leading Jewish organizations gathered in New York last week to discuss what can be done about it as the increasingly dangerous situation in Europe comes to America too.
Adolf Hitler would have loved it: a float in this year's carnival parade in the Belgian city of Aalst. It featured a Nazi-style depiction of greedy Jews, sitting on a pile of money, one with a rat on his shoulder. And when confronted by Jewish groups, the town mayor defended it.
This is the same carnival which in 2013 featured a Nazi railroad car carrying Jews to a death camp.
Sometimes the evidence of anti-Semitism in Europe is obvious, and sometimes its subtle – like when Jews quietly leave a neighborhood because it isn't safe anymore.
CBN News traveled through Brussels with Jewish leader Joel Rubinfeld to visit his boyhood synagogue, which had to be sold because the area became too dangerous for Jews.
"I felt insecure coming here with my family. So it's a better thing that we left this place and that we go to a safer space," he said.
Jews have been in Brussels since the first century. They're still here. But many now are leaving because of anti-Semitism and threats of violence.
Rubinfeld said, "It's the not the aliyah, the big aliyah, but the internal aliyah – people who are leaving their city, remaining in the same country, leaving their city to go to a safer city; or people leaving their neighborhood because they feel threatened as a Jew there in this neighborhood and going to another neighborhood where they feel more secure."
The Jewish Museum in Brussels, where an Islamic terrorist killed four people in 2014, shows the 2,000-year history of the Jews in Belgium. But it's the more recent history that Europeans seem to be forgetting.
"So it's people who say yes but it's not anti-Semitic it's humor. But you know this kind of humor is killing Jews. Meaning Jews have the power, Jews have the money, Jews have the control – all these are very basic anti-Semitic clichés," Rubinfeld explained.

In Germany last year, violent attacks against Jews almost doubled. A prominent rabbi was spat upon in public last week.
In Britain, anti-Semitic incidents have risen for a third year in a row.
Anti-Semitism even began to show itself in France's yellow vest movement. In Paris, American writer Nidra Poller says it showed that revolts against the wealthy and powerful inevitably turn against Jews.
"Anti-Semitism is something like, oh the fumes and the fire that come up out of the center of society when the surface is crackling apart. And it's always there. And when it comes up it can become unmanageable and they are very destructive," Poller said.
A new Hudson Institute poll shows most Americans now believe anti-Semitism is growing in the United States. Some say anti-Semitism has infected the Democratic Party. And Rubinfeld has this warning for Christians: you're next.
"More problems will come. No, it's just the beginning. We know this. We know that about anti-Semitic…the anti-Semite. They start with Jews. But they never finish with Jews," Rubinfeld said.

As Germany Imports 'Jew-Haters', Some Jews Are Joining a So-Called 'Nazi' Party - CBN News Dale Hurd

As Germany Imports 'Jew-Haters', Some Jews Are Joining a So-Called 'Nazi' Party
06-17-2019
CBN News Dale Hurd
BERLIN – The world just celebrated the 75th anniversary of the D-day landings. But in the lifetimes of those who survived the Second World War, anti-Semitism is again a threat to Jews in Germany.
Kippahs Now Dangerous for Jews to Wear
One reason is demographics. Muslims now outnumber Jews 50 to one. And for the first time since the Nazi regime, Jewish leaders are warning that it’s too dangerous to wear the Kippah, or Jewish cap, in some areas.

Olig Butkuvesly, a German Jew says, "Me, myself, I wouldn't wear a Kippah. Unfortunately, it’s not safe. Maybe I hope that it will be safe in the future or maybe it was safe in the past, but right now in 2019, it's not safe at all, unfortunately."
A magazine even printed a paper Kippah for all Germans to wear, to show solidarity with Jews.
Jews Look to Far-Right for Protection from Muslims
The German government and media say the threat to Jews comes both from the far-right and from Muslim immigrants. And while there is a dangerous neo-Nazi movement in Germany that hates Jews, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s welcome of more than a million Muslims from countries with anti-Semitic cultures has caused some Jews to join the so-called far-right for protection.
Germany’s third-largest political party, AfD or Alternative for Germany, has been branded as Nazi by the left-dominated German media, even though its platform looks a lot like the Republican Party in America. It has shown stronger support for Israel than any other major German party, and now has a chapter called “Jews in the AfD.”
At its first meeting members sang “Oseh Shalom.”
But why would Jews join a so-called ‘Nazi Party’? Maybe they don’t think it’s ‘Nazi,’ or maybe they think they face a more serious threat.
The German media views “Jews in the AfD” as a publicity stunt. Jewish groups have warned that AfD is no friend of the Jews. And the founder of the group, Bernhard Kraukopf, has been denounced as a “Jewish Nazi.”
Left Brands Conservative Party ‘Nazi,’ but Is It?
Krauskopf told us, “Look when the media tells you that the AfD is a Nazi party, and when the media looks for some Nazis [in AfD], which we have – like ALL the parties in Germany – this is nothing special about the AfD. The Left consists of Jew-haters, not all of them. Yes, we have some [‘Jew-haters’]. We try to get rid of them. It's not so easy because we have free speech.”
Some AfD leaders have said disturbing things. Björn Höcke called Berlin’s Holocaust memorial a “memorial of disgrace” and said Germans should stop feeling guilty. Alexander Gauland said that “Hitler and the Nazis are just a speck of bird 'poop' in over 1,000 years of successful German history.”
Krauskopf says he doesn’t like these comments, but he says what Angela Merkel has done to make Germany less safe for Jews is far worse.
Bad Words Versus Bad Actions: Knowingly Importing Dangerous Anti-Semitism
“To import Jew haters into Germany while knowing it is an anti-Jewish act that's not just you know, some memorial. This is reducing our security in Germany by the chancellor of Germany herself,” Krauskopf says.
There were never a lot of Jews in Germany. Even before the Nazis, Jews were less than one percent of the population. And almost 75 years after the defeat of the Nazis, Jews in Germany still only number about 115,000.
And they’re feeling increasingly outnumbered and in danger because of Muslims immigration, which is far worse than the government will admit.
Berlin Accused of Lying About the Threat from Muslim Immigration
“They are playing it down. They're lying. No other word. They are lying about it,” Krauskopf says. “So, there are lots of excuses and the situation gets worse every day. Because the government has lost control. Jew-haters have been imported. [The German government knows] these are Jew-haters, so now you have no excuse like the normal excuse was after World War Two: ‘Yeah, but we didn’t know that this would happen, we didn‘t know...’”
Krauskopf added emphatically, “You know it now.”

'They Arrested Him for Islamophobia': Muslim Targets Street Preacher, Police Arrest the Christian - CBN News Dale Hurd

'They Arrested Him for Islamophobia': Muslim Targets Street Preacher, Police Arrest the Christian
03-01-2019
CBN News Dale Hurd
LONDON -- Britain was once the home of world missions. But today, it's increasingly hostile to the gospel. In the latest episode, London police are under fire for arresting an elderly Nigerian man for preaching on the streets of London.
His name is Preacher Olu and he was arrested last Saturday, accused of breaching the peace and Islamophobia. Phone video of his arrest went worldwide on social media.
"You can arrest me if you want to. You can arrest me if you want to," the preacher says after police tell him to stop talking about Jesus.
CBN News got an exclusive interview with the woman who shot the video, Ambrosine Shitrit.
"A man with a hoodie was trying to humiliate, to be aggressive towards this Christian street preacher," Ambrosine says. "I could see that he was a Muslim man because he was talking about. 'No. Allah is the right way'."
But London police didn't arrest the Muslim man for threatening a Christian preacher -- instead, they arrested Preacher Olu.
Britain is officially a Christian nation, but if you're street preaching and someone complains, police are quick to move in.
"You better make your life right with the Lord Jesus Christ," Olu was preaching as the police came up to him.
"What are you doing here?" an officer asks.
"I am preaching," Olu responds.
"You're preaching. I am going to require you to go away," he says.
"You can never," Olu replies.
"Okay then I will arrest you for breach of peace," the officer says.
"What breach of peace?" Olu asks.
"What you're doing. You're causing problems, you're disturbing people's day and you're breaching their peace," the officer says.
But Ambrosine says Olu was not disturbing anyone except the Muslim man.
"Nobody was offended by the preaching, nobody. Nobody was offended and nobody came to see what was happening," she recalls.
Andrea Williams of the Christian Legal Centre is advising Preacher Olu of his legal rights.
"This was completely an overreach of their authority. There was no basis upon which to arrest the pastor although they did know clearly because it's caught on the camera. There was no proper investigation.  They arrested him for Islamophobia which isn't an offense and certainly there was no evidence of the fact that he was Islamophobic or racist," Williams explains.
As Olu declared, "Jesus is the only way," the officer badgered him saying, "No one wants to listen to that."
"You will listen when you're dead," Olu replies.
Then one of the officers ripped the Bible from his hands.
"Don't take my Bible away. Don't take my Bible away," Olu says.
The Christian preacher was reportedly driven out of the area and in the words of the police, "de-arrested" and dumped in an area without money to get home.
Williams said she's not sure if Preacher Olu will bring charges against the police. She says she sees cases like this on almost a weekly basis.

'The Stuff of Movies': A Battered Wife's Journey from Islam to Christian Pastor - CBN News Dale Hurd

'The Stuff of Movies': A Battered Wife's Journey
from Islam to Christian Pastor
01-03-2019
CBN News Dale Hurd
STOCKHOLM – No one would have thought a Muslim woman in Iran who was simply trying to stay alive in an abusive marriage in Iran would one day lead two churches in Sweden, bring more than a thousand former Muslims to Christ, and be invited to speak before the Queen of Sweden.
Living in Darkness in Muslim Iran
As a young woman in a Muslim culture, Annahita Parsan was powerless and insignificant. Her only hope was that she might one day find a good husband, and she did. But he died suddenly in an accident, and then she found herself trapped in a second marriage so violent, she expected to die.

She told us that during her abuse, "I didn't know anything. It was darkness. It was a really bad life."
And although she writes about the abuse in her book, Stranger No More, Parsan doesn't like to talk about it now.

"It's not that easy speaking about that."
Beaten with a Shovel and a Suicide Attempt
Parsan admits being beaten with a shovel by her then-husband. As a battered wife, with bruises and cuts all over her body, Parsan eventually tried to kill herself with pills, but she survived.
Her daughter Roksana remembers when her father threatened to slit her throat when she was just a small child.
"We wanted more cookies. Supernormal, and we ran up and we like said, 'More cookies! More cookies!' And he came up with a knife, put it to my throat and he said, 'Ask for cookies again.'"
About her mom, Roksana said, "She was striving to just survive for us, just survive to make a better life for us. And maybe that was something God had implanted in her so that she would have something to hold onto."
Fleeing Iran Only to Land in a Turkish Prison, Then to Faith in Christ
Annahita Parsan's journey to Christ and across two continents is the stuff of Hollywood movies, one that would include several brushes with death.

Parsan, her husband and her children fled Iran through the mountains to Turkey in 1984, where she and Roksana faced more danger, before landing in a Turkish prison. They would finally make it to Denmark where she divorced her still-abusive husband, and also heard the gospel for the first time.  Then she moved to Sweden where she and her two children walked into a church and prayed, "We are Christians, from now on."
Her 'Beautiful' Ending: Becoming a Pastor in Sweden
Annahita entered the ministry and has led more than 1,500 Muslims to Christ. She leads two churches and trains other churches how to reach out to and disciple Muslim background believers.  Former Muslims hungry for 'the God who loves' fill her church each Sunday. Parsan believes this was foretold in Jeremiah chapter 49, verse 39: "But in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam, declares the Lord."
"It is about Elam and Elam is Persian," Parsan said, "And when I read that I know that it's about us. It's about all their life and it's amazing. God told Jeremiah at that time, and it's happening just now."
But Muslim immigration has also made Sweden a home for dangerous radicals, and Parsan told us she has received death threats and lives with the knowledge she could be killed.
Parsan said Sweden "…is a free country. But it's dangerous, too." She says she sometimes wonders if she will be killed by Islamists in Sweden.

As a young woman living what seemed like a hopeless existence in Iran, Annahita Parsan saw no plan and no purpose in her abusive marriage, only random violence. But God had a plan.
"God loved me and he was in my life from the beginning," Parsan said. "Sometimes [when reflecting on her life] I think, wow, it's beautiful."

Ireland's Pro-Life Amendment in Danger of Repeal - CBN News Dale Hurd

Ireland's Pro-Life Amendment in Danger of Repeal
05-20-2018
CBN News Dale Hurd
DUBLIN – Irish voters will decide this week whether to repeal the Eighth amendment to their
constitution, which protects the right to life of both a mother and her unborn child. If it falls, as
polling suggests it might, some fear it could open the way to abortion on demand.

Ireland added a pro-life amendment to its constitution in 1983, because it did not want the right
to life in its constitution to be overturned by a court, like what happened in the United States' with
the Roe vs Wade Supreme Court decision.

Ireland's Steady Spread of Social Change

But Ireland has been undergoing sweeping social change. In 2015 Ireland became the first country
to legalize gay marriage by popular vote. Its Taoiseach or Prime Minister is openly gay. And Leo
Varadkar backs repeal of the Eighth along with much of the Irish establishment and media.

Around the time that polling showed the race was tightening, Facebook and Google effectively
sealed off the nation to any foreign advertising about the referendum on social media, in what
looked to pro-lifers as a way to make sure the repeal or yes camp wins.

"Save the 8th" spokeswoman Naihm ui Bhriain told reporters, "It's very significant that 'Yes'
campaigners rushed out today to welcome this censorship of the 'No' message because the 'Yes'
side in this referendum doesn't need Google to campaign. Was it because the polls are tightening?
Was it because it looks like this referendum, which is absolutely supported by the media
establishment and the political establishment, is going to be rejected?"

Uphill Battle to Keep Ireland Pro-Life

Ui Bhriain described to CBN News an uphill battle against most of the nation's press and politicians.

"The bias is off the charts," she said. "They're saying to Irish women, 'You're not safe without
abortion, your health is not safe, your lives might be in danger. Women need abortion in order
to have full and safe lives, in order to be equal in society.' And when you look at the facts this
is entirely untrue."

"Abortion is not predominantly a medical issue," says, pro-life Irish doctor, John Kehoe. While
some doctors have announced publicly that they support repeal of the 8th amendment for the
health and safety of women, Kehoe says women don't need a change in the law to be safer.

"This is not a medical debate in my opinion. This is a social debate," Kehoe says. "This is a
debate about choice and this is a debate in my opinion about human rights, the right to life."

Is Abortion Ever Necessary?

The repeal or pro-choice side says it's absolutely about the health and safety of women, but
whether an abortion is ever necessary to save a woman's life is in dispute, because if there is
a serious complication, a doctor can attempt to deliver the baby early, alive.

Another issue is the Irish women who are already traveling to Britain for the procedure or
who are taking the abortion pill illegally.

Leo Varadkar, Ireland's Prime Minister says, "I think the laws that we have in Ireland are far
too restrictive. Nine, ten women every day travel to the United Kingdom to end their pregnancies
and increasingly women are buying pills over the internet and taking them at home, so that is
actually quite a dangerous situation and we believe that we should face up to the reality of
abortion and provide for it in our own country but with the necessary restrictions."

"Women Are Safe in Ireland."

Pro-life spokeswoman Ui Bhriain says, " The facts show us this: woman are safe in Ireland.
They're much safer here than in the United States where abortion is widely available. Any care
they need during pregnancy, any intervention they need during pregnancy are given to them
under Irish law."

The other issue is whether abortion should be allowed for fetal abnormalities. The "Yes" camp
says women suffer psychologically when they are forced to carrying a child with a fetal abnormality
to term.

Banned: Conservatives Being Silenced on Social Media - CBN News Dale Hurd

Banned: Conservatives Being Silenced on Social Media
04-02-2018
CBN News Dale Hurd
STOCKHOLM — Conservatives are feeling the heavy hand of censorship in the United States and across Western Europe. Their social media accounts are being banned, blocked and canceled on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook, often over criticism of Islam or immigration.
Popular British anti-Islamization activist Tommy Robinson had his Twitter account suspended last week after he tweeted that Islam promotes killing.

A German activist received a 6-month suspended jail sentence for calling Islam a fascist ideology.
A 65 -year old Swedish woman faced charges for saying immigration from the third world will lead to low IQs.  She was cleared only because authorities couldn't prove it was her.
Public Enemy No. 1: 'Hate Speech'
Two weeks ago three conservative activists were refused entry into Britain because British Border Police said, "likely to incite tensions between local communities in the United Kingdom."  One was interrogated as a terrorist and was asked if she were, a "Christian extremist."
This is the same Border Force that allowed more than 400 former ISIS fighters to return to Britain for "reintegration."
Authorities in Britain now seem more interested in fighting hate speech on the internet than fighting crime and are warning social media users that their comments are being monitored.
Sweden 'Moving Toward Authoritarianism'
But Sweden is taking the most aggressive approach against free speech with a proposed new law that would make it a serious offense to publish material that would embarrass the Swedish government internationally. Another law would make it harder to show that immigrants are responsible for most violent crime.
Crime is now so bad in some parts of Sweden there has been talk of calling out the army to help the police.
But the new law would ban public use of government data that could be used to identify the ethnic origins of criminals.
"We are moving toward authoritarianism," warns Swedish blogger Johan Westerholm.
Westerholm runs a website critical of uncontrolled immigration in Sweden. He's not sure how much longer before his website is shut down.
"I will not be able to report the issues I'm reporting today. I will not be able to report on migration. If I report in a way that puts Sweden in a bad standing or bad position regarding other countries, even if what I am reporting is true, is relevant and is fact-based, that might be a criminal act, I might have to go to prison for life, for that kind of reporting."
If You Can't Fix Immigration Problems, Blame the Critics…and Call Them Names
"We call the critics [of Sweden's immigration policy] foul names and say the problem is racism, says  Iranian-born Swedish lawmaker Hanif Bali, who takes heavy criticism for his opposition to Sweden's immigration policy, even though he himself is an immigrant.

"I'm not only called 'racist;' I'm also called 'Uncle Tom;' I'm also called 'house nigger.' I've been compared with Doctor Mengele. And it’s not from average people. This is from well-established opinion journalists and politicians.’
The Swedish media helped pioneer what is now called 'doxing' – exposing the identities and addresses of people who express politically incorrect opinions online.  CBN News showed a video from 4 years ago showing a Swedish journalist going to the home of a man who posted in a right-wing forum and then publishing the video nationally. The man reportedly lost his job.
One Swedish organization,  Näthatsgranskaren, whose name means 'internet hate surveyor' hunts down politically incorrect speech and reports people to the police. It has received funding from the Swedish government.
But Sweden's worsening crackdown on free speech will do nothing to fix any of the real problems that have created the speech in the first place.  It's as if the government thinks if it can just stop people from talking negatively about the problems, the problems will go away.

"There is not a single study about how immigration has causally affect crime in Sweden. That's absurd, I would argue, says Swedish economist Tino Sanandagi.  "The government even in the last 12 years has stopped publishing the statistics so nobody knows really what percentage of total crime last year was committed by immigrants. The numbers are collected, but not used."
Sweden's New 'McCarthyism'
And Westerholm compares planned new laws to a new McCarthyism that will hunt down and silence criticism of immigration: "The government, through more repressive and restrictive media legislation, would be able to shut independent media voices down."
Swedes will proudly tell you that their law protecting freedom of speech is older than the United States. But freedom of speech is being crushed in Sweden and across the Western world in the name of political correctness.
And it doesn't matter if what is being crushed is the truth.
