Hebrew Music Monday ✡ "Train a Child in His Way" - ISRAEL365

Train a child according to his way; even when he grows old, he will not turn away from it.

Today's Israel Inspiration

Throughout Proverbs, King Solomon offers words of wisdom and correction for the wise of heart. However, not everyone learns the same way, and a child will not learn from words alone. King Solomon urges us to use all means necessary to reach the child, "according to his way." A special organization brings to light Solomon's wisdom in treating trauma in children after a terror attack. The Shiloh Therapy Center in Israel provides unconventional and very effective therapy programs to help kids open up about their trauma, offering music therapy, art therapy, and animal therapy in addition to traditional counseling. Their methods work so well precisely because of Solomon's wisdom: using different mediums to encourage children to speak about their experiences. Helping victims of terror has never meant more.

"May the Lord Bless You"

Sing along to this catchy classic, "May the Lord Bless You from Zion" based on Psalm 128, and performed by the Hava Nagillah Band!

Untold Story: Aftermath of a Terror Attack

Hundreds of Israelis are suffering physical and emotional wounds from dozens of attacks across the country. Terror, however, rarely ends with the attack itself. Trauma will eventually manifest in every victim of terror.

Miriam's Tambourine Pendant

Miriam is considered one of the greatest Jewish leaders in addition to her two brothers Moses and Aaron. She was an inspiration for the Jewish women of the generation of the Exodus and led them in song and prayer. Today, modern musicians perform on what Israelis call the Tof Miriam, or Miriam's drum. Now you can wear a gold and silver replication of this ancient musical instrument around your neck with the Miriam's tambourine pendant. Silver 925 – 8 gr. gold filled

Spirit Led Woman's Power Up Logo
When my grandson, Elijah, was 2, he loved Lego building blocks. I was constantly amazed at how he would spend hours building and creating with blocks that I could barely stack into a rickety tower.
Elijah assembled little vehicles, houses, small cities and yes, even towers like his pappy. Somewhere in the recesses of a mind unencumbered with the cares of the world, Elijah had a wonderful imagination and the ability to entertain himself as he engineered new designs and creations.
He did have one major challenge, however. The storage container that housed the Lego had a lid that snapped on. The lid was designed so that if the container tipped over it would not come off. Little Elijah's hands were simply too small, and not yet strong enough, to get the lid off. After struggling many times in the past to remove the lid himself, Elijah would invariably just drag the receptacle that was holding his Lego hostage over to me, so I could set them free. My hands are large enough and strong enough to reach down and simply snap the lid off with just a flick of my thumb.
One day Elijah moved the container in front of me for my help in getting him access to his world of Lego creations. I reached down and easily popped the lid off with one hand. A grateful grandson then moved over right in front of my face, looked up at me and said, "Pappy, you're the best helper ever." There was, I am sure, an involuntary swelling of my chest as I said, "Yes, yes I am."
Perhaps the Psalmist understood and appreciated this same principle when he said, "I lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Ps. 121:1).
Again in Psalm 124 David declares, "Our help is in the name of the Lord" (v. 8). He then shifts to a wonderful level of praise when he exclaims, "Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob" (Ps. 146:5, NIV).
What's interesting is that I looked up the word help in Strong's Concordance to find out exactly what the word meant. It means, "help." Pretty simple. The connotation is that the help is not specified. It is overall help—help for whatever you need.
Are your emotions shattered? He is your help. Is your heart broken? He is your help. Have the wheels come off and life isn't the way it's supposed to be? He is your help. Maybe your spouse left, or your child is rebelling, or the job you depended on is no more. He is your help. Maybe the report from the doctor took your breath away and hope seems illusive. He is your help.
Write that eternal truth down. Put it on sticky notes, and stick them up so you read it everywhere you turn. He is your help. And Oh how blessed you will be when you realize that the One we call Lord—the mighty One over all the earth—is your help.
This week, maybe you need to stop trying to get the lid off of your Legos on your own. Maybe you just need to drag the container over to the Holy One of Israel. He will reach down, and with His strong right hand, pop the lid off. He will be your help.
Then don't forget to look up into His face and lovingly say, "Abba Father, you're the best helper ever." He loves that. Listen closely and you might hear Him reply, "Yes, yes I am."
When you need help, just ask Him. He will be there. He will be your help. I promise.

Prayer Power for the Week of November 2, 2015

This week incorporate lots of praise into your prayer time. Let Him know that He's the best helper ever and that you can depend on Him for anything and everything you need. Thank Him that He never leaves you nor forsakes you no matter how things look. Continue to pray for unity in the body of Christ so that we can come together in one accord for revival, a harvest of souls and the extension of God's kingdom. Pray for the upcoming elections and ask God to reveal what is true and what is not so you can make an intelligent decision. Pray for the protection of the candidates, their families and those working in the campaigns. Ask the Lord to guide you through the election process and continue to pray for the persecuted church, as well as the peace and protection of Jerusalem as admonished in the Word (2 Chron. 7:14; Ps. 124:8; Psalm 122:6).

Will Netanyahu's Government Survive? - Ryan Jones, ISRAEL TODAY

Will Netanyahu's Government Survive?

Monday, November 02, 2015 |  Ryan Jones  ISRAEL TODAY

Many say the Likud won the last election in spite of Netanyahu because most Israelis understood the vote was really about the identity and future of the State of Israel. But is that enough?

COMMENTARY: Did the New Covenant Nullify the Sabbath? - ISRAEL TODAY

COMMENTARY: Did the New Covenant Nullify the Sabbath?

Monday, November 02, 2015 |  Brian Hennessy  ISRAEL TODAY
As more and more Christians recover their stolen Hebraic heritage and begin to draw near to their Jewish brethren again, the question arises - “how do we keep holy the Sabbath day?” Surely this commandment is central to being part of God’s Israel – “for it shall be a sign between Me and you throughout your generations” (Ex. 31:12).
For centuries we thought as Christians we were keeping the Sabbath by going to church on Sunday. Then we discovered the Sunday Sabbath was an unauthorized change to God’s Law instituted by the Emperor Constantine in the fourth century. But does that mean God’s official day of rest is still Saturday? Or is there some other way to understand the fourth commandment in light of God’s New Covenant (NC) with Israel? I believe there is.
To begin, Jesus was quite clear about the purpose of his coming regarding the Mosaic Law: “I did not come to abolish [it] but to fulfill [it]” (Matt. 5:17). So none of the commandments and ordinances given on Mount Sinai were ever abolished by Yeshua. The key is understanding what Yeshua meant by “fulfilled.” For surely things were not the same in Israel after he left.
As the inspired New Testament writers revealed, the original Mosaic commands were only “a shadow of the good things to come” (Heb. 10:1). They all pointed to a future spiritual fulfillment in Yeshua. So once the New Covenant (NC) fulfilled the first covenant, Israel’s understanding of how God wanted His people to serve Him also had to change.
The command for physical circumcision became the required circumcised heart. The Levitical priesthood was replaced by the priesthood of believers. The temple building by the body of Messiah. Passover was now the remembrance of the sacrifice of the Lamb of God in the bread and wine. And the Sabbath became a command to rest, not just one day a week, but 24-7 in the finished work of Yeshua.
  • No one explains this NC truth concerning the Sabbath better than Watchman Nee. In his little book, Sit, Walk, Stand, a study of the Book of Ephesians, he reminds us the Sabbath law was based on God resting on the seventh day of creation.  We were to see that while God worked six days and rested on the seventh, man, who was created on the sixth day, began his work on God’s day of rest. This showed us man must first enter God’s rest in Yeshua before he could work. “For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own works, just as God did from his” (Heb. 4:10).
To keep the Sabbath now we must sit down with Yeshua in heavenly places each day and cease from all our striving and unrest. We can rest from trying to stay saved, from trying to provide for ourselves and family, from trying to serve God – and just receive it all by faith, knowing God has already met all our needs and accomplished all our work for us in him. All we do now will be done in the Spirit.
Ironically, that means the Sabbath is the only time we should work! All other times of labor for God, even if deemed a “good work,” will have no lasting value in God’s Kingdom. Do you realize how much religious busy-work would end if we were all truly keeping His Sabbath?
That doesn’t mean someone can’t designate one day to be a personal sabbath rest to honor God if he so chooses. It just means he won’t be stoned if he fails to keep it.
The bottom line: “Let no one  act as your judge with regard to food or drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day, things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Messiah” (Col. 2:16,17).
