Spread the Holy Light ✡ "Command B’nei Yisrael To Bring You Clear Oil Of Beaten Olives For Lighting" - Israel365

Command B’nei Yisrael to bring you clear oil of beaten olives for lighting, for kindling lamps regularly.

Today's Israel Inspiration

In ancient times, olive oil was an integral part of the service in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. The olive oil used in the temple was produced from olives grown in groves across the Land of Israel. After recovering the vandalized Temple from the Greeks, the Maccabees fashioned a makeshift menorah, but were able to find only one flask of pure olive oil which had not been contaminated by the Greeks. This flask contained enough oil to burn for one day, but God miraculously allowed the small amount of oil to burn for eight days. During Chanukah, we light the menorah for eight nights to celebrate the miracle of light, the victory of good over evil and the restoration of the temple service. This Chanukah, plant olive trees in Israel and enable a holy light to be spread across the nation.

“I Am Praying for Israel”

It’s great to hear from you and make new friends from all over the world. Please send me an email and let me know how you are enjoying Israel365 (don’t forget to say where you are from!).

Hello Rabbi Tuly, It is on my TO DO LIST to come to Israel. I have always had a deep love for the Chosen People. I send prayers email wise to the Walling Wall where they put them in. Many prayers have been answered. I am into family ancestry. 2015 I had a DNA test, and to my surprise it revealed my German Ancestors were Jewish. I don't know who they were at this point, but it made me happy to know this. Also some of my ancestors have the name TULLY! Those are Irish. I searched online and i indicated the royal family in England has Jewish DNA. I watch 2 Jewish Channels  we have on TV. I live in MI in the USA. I am praying for Israel. Wishing you a wonderful day, Carol
Shalom,
Rabbi Tuly Weisz

The Simple Yet Powerful Thing About Linus’ Epic Christmas Speech Most People Have Never Noticed - CBN News Dan Andros

The Simple Yet Powerful Thing About Linus’ Epic Christmas Speech Most People Have Never Noticed
Dec. 17, 2017  CBN News Dan Andros
We’ve been watching it for over half a century, and one of the more poetic and symbolic moments of the epic Linus Christmas speech most people have never even noticed.
On December 9th, 1965, CBS aired the animated TV special “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and it was sponsored by Coca-Cola.
The entire special ran 25 minutes and had a production budget just a hair under $100,000. In today’s dollars, that’d be about $750,000 – still a relatively modest budget for this type of programming.
The feature centers around Charlie Brown’s disappointment at the overall commercialization of the Christmas holiday. He eventually decides to put on a play to show everyone the true meaning of Christmas, and while everything in Charlie Brown’s play doesn’t seem to work out (including the now infamous skinny tree), Linus steps in to save the day and explain everything.
Most people have seen the wonderful speech, during which he quotes from the Gospel of Luke.
One thing most people, including this author, have missed every single time they watch this classic piece of TV history, is what happens when he recites Luke 2:10.
Right when he says “Fear not” – Linus drops his security blanket. It remains on the floor for the rest of the speech, and he picks it up when he’s done.
The imagery, of course, represents the hope of the Christian – that we do not have anything to fear, for God is with us. Of course, in our human state, we always end up finding things to worry, be anxious, and even fearful of – so we always go back to whatever our own earthly security blanket is.
If you’ve already noticed it – kudos, you’re pretty observant! If you’re like me and never noticed it – watch again and be amazed you never were able to pick up on that after all these years.
Either way, it’s still every bit as good today as it was back then. Enjoy!
