'God Plays a Very Big Role in My Life': Trump Takes Soft Tone as Angry Media Blasts Him After Election

President Trump faced a very antagonistic media on the day after the midterm elections, offering a soft tone about his desire to work across the aisle with Nancy Pelosi and Democrats in the House. He said he understands that Pelosi loves the country and he hopes compromise can be possible.

The president began the wide-ranging press conference with a focus on the election results, but it soon devolved into brazen and shocking media attacks that appeared designed to frustrate and enrage the president.

CNN's Jim Acosta stood defiantly on the front row, badgering the president over and over about the caravan and the Russia election, refusing to release the microphone, standing right in front of the president in a shocking confrontation.

The president told him his time was done, telling him to sit down and to stop being a "rude, terrible person." Eventually, Trump had to walk away from the microphone because Acosta wouldn't stop creating a spectacle.

Near the end of the hour-long event, the president circled back to the issue saying he hopes the tone in America can get better if the media will tone down their attacks.

Then more members of the media hurled loud questions at him about whether it's his job to change the tone. He said it's because of rude and unfair media attacks that he's taken such a confrontational approach. "I'm fighting back not.

At another point, a reporter repeatedly questioned Trump about whether or not he's a racist and whether he has ever made racist comments. Trump said he's not. Another reporter also asked if Trump was a racist because of support from white nationalists. He turned the question against the reporter, saying it was a racist question, that he loves America and that he has delivered many jobs for African Americans, Asian Americans, and Hispanic Americans.

While much of the media criticized him for sparring with journalists, Trump says he has to be aggressive because he's not treated fairly by the media.

"My issue with the media's treatment of Trump is less that they are critical of him, and more that they aren't equal opportunity critics," The Washington Examiner's Tiana Lowe told CBN News. "They took an eight-year break during the Obama Administration and as we saw with every glowing profile of Beto O'Rourke, of Andrew Gillum, they are only hard on one party and its all determined by what letter you have after your name. So, should Trump be as critical of the media asking legitimate questions about his presidency? I don't think so. Clearly, it resonates with his base. However, he's not wrong when he says that there is clearly a bias not only in coverage but also in tone and tenure. "

One of the few productive and peaceful moments of the event came when a Jewish reporter asked the president about God's place in his administration.

"God plays a very big role in my life," Trump said. He pointed out that God's place is apparent in the lives of many members of his administration, including the vice president.

When asked about congressional action for the rest of the year, the president said he could not imagine taking up the issue of immigration and recognized the new Democratic House and the Republican Senate may go in different directions when it comes to legislation.

"Areas for legislative agreement will be more limited," he said.

"The one issue that Leader Pelosi and I discussed this morning where there could be a possible bipartisan agreement would be something on infrastructure, but there could be a lot of other things."

The president also said he would consider raising other tax rates to pay for a middle-class tax cut. He had proposed another 10 percent tax cut while campaigning for the midterms.

But he said if Democrats offer an idea for tax cuts he would work with them, even if it would require "some adjustment" to other rates.

"I would certainly be willing to do a little bit," Trump told the room full of reporters.

The president said Democrats would need to propose a plan, and that he would need bipartisan support on the legislation in the Senate.

Lowe told CBN News the next Speaker of the House needs to tone down the angry rhetoric in her base to efficiently partner with Republicans to pass legislation.

"I think that if Nancy Pelosi wants to remain, Speaker of the House, she knows that appealing to the most emotional and angriest portion of her base is not going to get much done for her or her agenda, " she said. "Perhaps she will realize this is an opportunity."

In one of the lighter moments of the news conference, a reporter asked the president if he would choose Vice President Mike Pence to be his running mate in the 2020 election.

"Well, I haven't asked him, but I hope so," Trump responded. "Where are you? Mike, Will you be my running mate?" Some of the media in the room responded with laughter.

Then the president told Pence to stand up and raise his right hand. Pence stood in front of his chair located at the side of the room.

"No, I'm only kidding," Trump said. "Will you?"

Pence nodded his acceptance and Trump said: "Thank you. The answer is yes."

White House Suspends CNN Correspondent's Press Pass

Later on Wednesday, the White House announced it had suspended Acosta's press pass after he and President Trump got into a heated exchange during the news conference earlier that afternoon.

According to The Associated Press, journalists assigned to cover the White House apply for passes that allow them daily access to press areas in the West Wing. White House staff decide whether journalists are eligible, though the Secret Service determines whether their applications are approved.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders released a statement accusing Acosta of “placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern,” calling it “absolutely unacceptable.”

Responding to the White House through their Twitter account, CNN said: "A free press is vital to democracy, and we stand behind Jim Acosta and his fellow journalists everywhere.”

In announcing Acosta’s suspension, Sanders said, “The fact that CNN is proud of the way their employee behaved is not only disgusting, it is an example of their outrageous disregard for everyone, including young women, who work in this administration.”

CHARISMA NEWS: Why release this project now?

A gospel record has always been something I've wanted to do. My faith has always been important to me, so when I chose songs for this project, they meant something special to me. I was able to go into the studio and record some of the songs I'd been wanting to record for a long, long time.

How did you pick the hymns?
I have a deep connection to all the songs on this record, whether I first heard a song on my grandmama's record player, like "I Pray My Way Out of Trouble," or performed my favorite hymn "Without Him" with my old gospel quartet, The Thankful Hearts. Each of these songs means something special to me.

How do modern hymns differ from classic ones?

I think the biggest difference is the contemporary language in the modern hymns. But I think the message, the heart and the inspiration can be genuine, whether it's old or new.

What was the writing process like for "The River (of Happiness)"?

It's been a long time coming, and I'm glad I was able to include my wife [Jennifer] and my four sons. They actually wrote it four years ago, when Hampton was 8. Hampton even played a little bit of mandolin on it. When I was having a production meeting one day, Jennifer and I talked about it, and I said, "This would be a really neat moment on the record to have them sing on this." It's an uplifting song, and having Jennifer and the boys singing on it drives that home. I thought it would offer something new to the record, and having everyone involved is a really neat moment.

How does your understanding of hymns affect your country music and vice versa?

My understanding of hymns affects my approach to country music because of the way the lyrics are written. They tell a story in a very specific way, so when I approach a country record, I try to accomplish the same thing. I want to cut songs that mean something. The flip side of that is when I approach a gospel record like this, I come at it from a country perspective. I want it to be laid-back and tell a story. I want to hear the country or bluegrass flair.

How is the Lord moving in your life right now?

I have seen God unify people in a way I think only He can. I think He can bring everybody together no matter what race we are, where we come from, how old we are. You know, all that fades away when He's involved.

What is your prayer right now?

My prayer is that this record would be impactful and influential and would come to a listener at the exact time he or she needs it. Whether someone is looking for encouragement or some answers to questions in their life—whatever they're seeking, I hope this record would play a small part in meeting that need.

"4 Months of Accelerated Glory! It's Your Season to 'Go for It'!"

Recently, in a time of prayer, the Lord showed me an amazing prophetic vision about the next 4 months. The 4 months are the last 2 in 2018, and the first 2 in 2019. It's November, December, January and February. "Accelerated glory,"were the words I heard. I've never in my life seen so many people, who are believing for the Kingdom of God to be manifested on the earth, moving forward at one time.

This is Your Season to "Go For It!"

"Many of you have been building a foundation in 2018, but you are about to experience the glory at a greater level."

As I talk to different friends and ministries from all over America, every one of them is saying, "Joe, I don't fully know what is about to happen, but I've never been more excited. I've never had more things lining up for me. I've never had such an acceleration and an increase in my life, finances, health and in everything I am doing. It is like we are at the point where it is about to bust forward. It is about to break loose." So, I have been telling everybody in the ROAR Apostolic Network, "This is a season when you need to go for it! You need to throw your life into whatever God has called you to do."

Accelerated Glory

I heard the Lord say the words: "Accelerated glory." I'm talking about the true glory and the real glory. When the glory of God shows up, everything changes. Everything shifts. Transitions are made. Atheists are saved. People with infirmities are healed. Marriages are restored. It's not just that the Holy Spirit shows up; it's an accelerated glory where God comes down and the glory rests upon us.

When the glory of God comes, people cannot even minister. I know over the past few years, we've had a few services where we've had what I call, "a holy hush." I don't know what else to call it. We might have been 2, 3 or 4 hours in a service and then the glory showed up in such a way that nobody moved for 10 to 15 minutes. There was an accelerated glory. There have been times when I've been in my house by myself, working on a project or doing something, and all of a sudden, I can sense the glory of God. I will just sit down, get on my knees or lay flat on the floor. Then, the glory of God comes in. During these times I may get a vision, a revelation, or heavenly wisdom. I will feel the glory, the kabod, or the weight of God resting upon me.

My friends, over the next 4 months we are about to see this in our churches and in meetings. But the main place we will experience the accelerated glory is in our personal, private prayer time. You're gonna have moments where you feel the power, the weight, the glory of God just come in and rest upon you. During the next 4 months you're going to be able to tell people, "I spent time with God." It will not just be a regular, private prayer time. You'll be able to tell people, "I experienced the glory and the weight of God."

Sudden Solutions and Insights

As you encounter the accelerate glory, you will learn how to operate, steward and move in it. You'll be able to function with the weight of God on you. You're going to have accelerated glory in every aspect of your life. When you go to work, you can expect the glory of God to come in. Sudden solutions from Heaven will come. Sudden insights from God will be given to you. Sometimes we will have a vision, or a good thought, and we will think about it for a few weeks or months. Then we'll start working towards it. But when the accelerated glory comes, wisdom from the Lord is released and we are given prophetic insight into how to steward what God is showing us. (Photo via Pixabay)

Get ready! In November, December, January and February, you are going to enter into a Kairos season. The glory will hit you, and you will know automatically how to steward the weight and presence of God.

Shifting Atmospheres

In this season of accelerated glory, there will be times when you're at work and the glory of God is going to hit you. You're going to feel the heavy weight of the anointing. You'll have the glory of God upon you to lay hands and pray for that one co-worker, who you might not like or who may be battling cancer, and the accelerated power, presence and glory of God will hit them, and things will change. You are going to be able to shift atmospheres. You may be at a restaurant, a coffee shop, at a grocery store, a family reunion or a parent-teacher conference and be able to release the accelerated glory of God to shift things. I'm believing for people in our government to have a powerful encounter with the glory of God.

"This is a season when you need to go for it! You need to throw your life into whatever God has called you to do."

During these 4 months when the glory of God comes in, the people who do not walk closely with the Lord will not be able to speak or move, because the glory is upon them. When the glory shows up, only the true children of God will be able to speak under the weight of the glory. You're going to be in meetings and God is going to put you in elevated places to walk in His glory. You'll be able to carry the power of the glory of God.

Your Mantle is Coming Upon You

The Lord is saying right now, "You are about to have your mantle wrap around you like a winter coat. You're going to be able to walk in your mantle in the glory. You've had a prophetic word over your life but you've never been able to step into that." If you're outside and you're cold, as soon as you put on a coat you feel warmer almost immediately. Your mantle is coming upon you. Embrace your mantle, wear your mantle and walk in the glory of God. Over the next 4 months, my friends, you are going to see and feel your mantle wrap around you, and then you better be ready for the glory, the accelerated glory, of God to come upon you. You are going to be able to start walking in your calling, your purpose and your destiny.

There is Oil from Your Pressing

You are going to receive key insight, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding from the Lord. You're about to walk in a greater anointing than ever before. In your past seasons, you've been pressed. You've been through trials, tests and tribulations but the pressing of the enemy caused more of the anointing to come out of you.

Whenever oil is being formed in the natural, the olives are pressed to release the oil. The more that you are pressed, the more oil will come out of your life. You've got all this oil that has come out of you from the pressing. But now is your season. You are about to see the accelerated glory of God, and it will far surpass anything you could ever imagine. The weight of God's glory and power is about to come upon you. Everything in your past has been leading up to this moment.

2019—An Even Better Year

My friends, I hope this word encourages you. This is a season of accelerated glory. Your mantle is coming upon you, the anointing is going to be greater and the glory of God is about to be manifested! 2019 is going to be an exceptionally powerful year for the apostolic and prophetic movements, and the Kingdom of God is going to be manifested on the earth.
