What a mighty God we serve! - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

When I look at your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
The moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
What is man
that you are mindful of him,
And the son of man
that you care for him? (Ps 8:3-4)

Do you ever look up at the moon and stars and think, my Father made that!? As amazing as it is, the way for us to know the One who created the heavens personally has been opened to us. It is staggering that the Almighty God stoops to care for us - and yet he does. Let's remember what a mighty and wonderful God we serve and proclaim!

HOW DO THE HEAVENS "DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD"?

"If, one day, I should walk into a hotel room and suddenly see my clothes there, my favorite food, paintings by artists I like, where the alarm clock is already set to the time I need to wake up and the air conditioner is set at precisely my preferred temperature, I would know that someone had prepared the room specifically for me before I was there."

There are thousands of "coincidences" in the cosmological world, regarding the necessary prerequisites for the existence of life on Earth which suggest that these are not coincidences at all, but rather outside intervention that has prepared the world specifically for us. This is a section from one of the apologetics presentations we have been working on recently for those who don't believe in God. Continue reading...

SOME THINGS YOU CAN'T FIX FOR YOURSELF.
YOU NEED SOMEONE GREATER!

Watch this amazing story of a Jewish woman who has suffered so much, but found Yeshua could bring her through it all - and give her joy and peace.
Some things you can't fix yourself. You need someone GREATER!

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR BIBLE COLLEGE TRIP TO GERMANY

Please pray for our Arab and Jewish mission team from Israel College of the Bible who leave for Germany this week! They will be explaining the gospel of forgiveness in Yeshua, and also living out the difference that the gospel makes as they embody the "One New Man" that we are in Messiah together as Jew and Arab. They will be sharing with college students and refugees in word and in deed, alongside German churches. The trip is an important part of the training and development for our students as disciples of Messiah, so please pray that this is a powerful time both for them and for all those who God brings across their path!

WHAT DOES "LORD OF HOSTS" MEAN?

Adonai Tzavaot, the "Lord of Hosts" is one of the names of God, used 235 times in the Bible. The first time it appears is in the story of Hannah and her husband Elkanah, in Hannah's struggle with barrenness. Hannah is the first person to call God by this name.
The literal meaning in Hebrew is "Lord of armies":  Tza-va (צבא) is the word for army - and what today refers to the Israeli Defence Force. Tza-va-ot (צבאות) is the plural. Multiple armies. But is it necessarily a military word? What does it mean, when we call God "Lord of Armies"? Continue reading...

The United States Is On The Precipice Of Widespread Civil Unrest - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

SFO Muslim Ban Protest - Photo by Quinn Norton

Posted: 29 Jan 2017   Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

It doesn’t take much of a trigger to push extremely large crowds of very angry protesters into committing acts of rioting and violence.  And rioting and violence can ultimately lead to widespread civil unrest and calls for “revolution”.  The election of Donald Trump was perhaps the single most galvanizing moment for the radical left in modern American history, and we have already seen that a single move by Trump can literally cause protests to erupt from coast to coast within 48 hours.

On Friday, Trump signed an executive order that banned refugees from Syria indefinitely and that placed a 90 day ban on travel to the United States for citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.  Within hours, protesters began to storm major airports, and by Sunday very large crowds were taking to the streets all over the country
From Seattle to Newark, Houston to Boston, hundreds jammed airport terminals — lawyers, immigration advocates, ordinary citizens compelled to the front lines, many refusing to leave until those who had been detained by U.S. Customs had been freed or had obtained legal counsel.
On Sunday, the movement caught fire and demonstrations and rallies erupted in communities across the U.S. from city halls to airports to parks. In the nation’s capital, the site of the march that drew a crushing 500,000 people Jan. 21, Pennsylvania Avenue was shut down Sunday as thousands trekked from the White House to the U.S. Capitol. An energized crowd stopped outside Trump’s showcase hotel along the avenue to shake fists and chant “shame.”
You can see some really good pictures of the protests going on around the nation right here.
As I was going through articles about these protests today, I remember one woman holding up a sign that said “Remove Trump By Any Means Necessary”.

It doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what she was suggesting.

Visions of violence are dancing in the heads of these very frustrated people, and they are being egged on by top members of Congress such as Chuck Schumer
‘These orders go against what America has always been about,’ Schumer told the crowd in Battery Park according to the New York Daily News. ‘The orders make us less humanitarian, less safe, less American and when it comes to making us less safe people forget this, that’s why so many of our military, intelligence, security, and law enforcement leaders are opposed to this order and all those like it.’
Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Trump’s presidential rival, Hillary, tweeted a picture from the rally. It was captioned: ‘Yes. We will keep standing up for a country that matches our values and ideals for all. #NewYork #NoBanNoWall.’
On Sunday, President Trump attempted to clarify what his executive order was really about and make it clear that it was not a ban on all Muslims.  The following comes from CNN
President Donald Trump insisted Sunday his travel ban on certain Muslim-majority nations would protect the United States from terrorists, after a weekend of outrage and confusion over the move.
In an afternoon statement, Trump wrote the country would continue showing “compassion to those fleeing oppression.”
Unfortunately, polls show that somewhere around a third of the country greatly dislikes Trump, and those people are more than ready to believe that Trump is a racist bigot that hates all Muslims.

But the truth is that Trump does not hate any group of people.  His target is simply Islamic terror, and he is actually pro-immigration as long as it is legal immigration.

Let us not forget that his wife is a legal immigrant.

I know that Trump is quite eager to get things done, but putting out this executive order at this particular moment was definitely a case of poor timing.

We are a nation that is deeply, deeply divided, and now this latest controversy threatens to divide us even further.

When I was out earlier today, I saw a pro-Trump billboard that some business owner had put up that was urging liberals to quit their whining.

On the surface that may sound funny, but it definitely doesn’t do anything to bring us together.

If you give anger enough fuel, eventually it leads to violence.  I am certainly not suggesting that we should ever compromise on what we believe, but what I am suggesting is that there is a wise way to handle things and an unwise way to handle things.

Someday, widespread civil unrest is going to sweep across the United States and major American cities will burn.

My hope is that we can put this off for as long as possible.

In fact, I sincerely hope that this will not happen at all during the Trump/Pence era.
But you would have to be blind not to see the hate, anger and frustration that are all growing like cancer in the hearts of our young people.

This is a time for the peacemakers.  If there are any left in Washington, we need them to rise up now and try to bring healing before it is too late.

Why God Made Israel His Choice of Nations

SAM NADLER  CHARISMA NEWS
Standing With Israel
As you read this, we are preparing to return to Israel for our ongoing ministry to Messianic leaders and outreach to unbelievers in the land. Though some may question why we choose to travel so far every year, understanding God's plan for Israel clarifies this issue and leads us to pray and do all we can to reach out to Jewish people here and around the world.
To help us better understand, let's look first at Jacob and Leah (Gen. 29), those through whom God chose to birth a nation and ultimately bring the Messiah into the world.
Why Leah?
Though Jacob loved beautiful Rachel, it was through her weak-eyed sister, Leah, that God chose to most impact the history of Israel and more abundantly bless the world. The priesthood, through Leah's son Levi, would foreshadow the eternal priesthood and sacrifice of Messiah (Heb. 8:5, 10:1). The kingship through her son Judah would provide the Davidic dynasty and the eternal King, Messiah Yeshua.
We read in Genesis 29:31, "When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren." Barrenness was a genetic family condition for both sisters, just like their Aunt Rebekah and Great-aunt Sarah.
Though God allowed Rachel to remain barren for a longer time, He granted Leah the ability to conceive. But why Leah? Rachel, like the nations of the world, was alluring but spiritually unproductive. Leah was the unlovely and unloved one. In keeping His promise, God chose to use Leah because, in her weakness, she best pictures the people of Israel.
Why Israel?
Like Leah, God chose Israel not because it was the greatest of the nations, but because it was the least (Deut. 7:7-8). Of all the peoples, Israel was the least likely to succeed (apart from God).
Doesn't it seem ironic that God enabled Abraham and Sarah, an elderly, barren couple not only to conceive, but also to bless "all the nations of the earth" (Gen. 22:18b)? So, through the unlikely seed of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Leah, the blessed Redeemer would come.
In each generation, God continued to choose the least. The unloved, weak-eyed Leah, who had no outer beauty, pictures our Messiah. Just as Leah was not attractive to Jacob, Israel did not find Yeshua appealing to their sight. Isaiah wrote that Messiah would have "no appearance that we should desire him" and He would be "rejected by men," yet amazingly fruitful and prosperous, for "he shall see his offspring" (Is. 53:1-10).
God's choice of Leah demonstrates that it is not our external beauty but rather God's eternal blessing that brings true and lasting fulfillment. Yeshua started His hillside sermon"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 5:3). The Lord's love is for the unloved, and His grace is for the rejected. Those in this position truly understand that apart from Him, they can do nothing (John 15:5).
But Why You?
When each of us see ourselves as we truly are, we will acknowledge that in reality, we are poor. Yeshua goes against the grain of all human judgment as it points out in 1 Cor. 1:20 (NLT), "God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish." His kingdom is given to the poor, not the rich; the feeble, not the mighty; the unloved, not the desired.
Yes, it is "[his] strength is made perfect in weakness" so we may prove that "[His] grace is sufficient" (2 Cor. 12:9). When we recognize our unloved weaknesses and choose to depend on His grace, God will use us to be the witness of His everlasting love.
Many believers can feel unqualified to witness effectively to the "lost sheep of the House of Israel." For instance, Paul was well-trained in the Torah, the Hebrew language and rabbinic theology. Yet even with all these credentials, he was spiritually blind. Only after he was physically blinded could he gain spiritual sight. He could see the crucified one who is the victor, who overcame death and also saved him, and one day would redeem all Israel.
Therefore, Paul was unashamed to preach the Good News. He knew the power to save all who believe is not found in all the qualifications or education that this world can offer, but in Good News alone, "to the Jew first and also to the Greek" (Rom. 1:16). Like Paul, our main ability to effectively witness to the Jewish people is not in our strength, prosperity or status in the world but by grace alone that God provides. Paul had to become like Leah to be used by God. As with Paul, God sometimes has to make the high places low, for He still chooses the weak and unloved as witnesses of His love and power to all with ears to hear.
Being Unloved
Today, Leah is unloved once again. Following the Holocaust, Israel was tolerated by the nations of the world. But now Israel and Jewish people everywhere are once more the bulls-eye of Satan's war with God. When Yeshua saw His people, Israel, He felt compassion for them, because they were "fainted and were scattered, like sheep without a shepherd" (Matt. 9:36). Today, Israel is still without their Shepherd, and Yeshua still feels compassion for them. Today the harvest is plentiful, and the need for laborers remains great. Consequently, we should seize the opportunity to minister God's grace to the Jewish people. All local churches and believers can take part in ministering His compassion and grace to "harassed and helpless sheep."
Being His Instrument
Just as God chose Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob and Leah, He also chooses us today to point others to Messiah. How will he do this? God keeps His promise and uses each of us just as we are: poor and weak, but trusting in His all-sufficient grace and power. Unrecognized by Jacob at the time, Leah was God's instrument of blessing for Israel's future; unrecognized by Jacob today, we modern "Leahs" are God's present instrument of blessing for Israel. Let us trust in His promises and together reach out to His lost sheep, whether they are in Israel, in New York City or perhaps right next door.
For the God of Leah is the Savior of the world.

Prophecy: Press Into the Shift in Your Heart - JENNIFER LECLAIRE CHARISMA NEWS

Every morning, I gather with hundreds of people to pray prophetically in our Mornings With the Holy Spirit prayer calls. This was birthed out of a week-long prayer series for my devotional by the same name over two years ago.

These calls have grown increasingly prophetic in nature. So much so that I complied a CD of prophetic songs, sounds and decrees that defy impossibilities called Dream Wild from words released in those early-morning devotions. Below, I'm offering a transcript of one of my prayer sets. I know this will inspire and encourage you!
Some of you are frustrated with your own spiritual growth. You're pressing, you're pressing, you're pressing. But the Lord would say to you, remember, you are not the one who causes yourself to grow. For you are growing in my grace. And even though you can't see it with your eyes, know that I've done a deep work, says the Lord, and I'm continuing to do this work in your heart. I am rooting you and grounding you deeply into My kingdom, deeply into My Son.
And you might not see the fruit that you want to see now, says the Lord, but you will see it. Do not give up and do not grow weary in well doing because in due season—in the kairos time—in the perfect moment, you will reap a harvest if you do not faint.
You will see that peace in your life. You will see that joy in your life. You will see that compassion in your life. I am pulling out weeds that are in your heart even now. I am rooting them out even now, says the Lord, and you will see that as I water your soul with My Word and as you meditate on things I've said to you in past seasons, you are going to begin to see the manifest, says the Lord, because you are coming into that place, you have cultivated your heart.
The fallow ground has been shaken up. You've seen some turbulence in your life. You've seen some things come to the surface and you said, "I thought that was gone, Lord. I thought I dealt with that, Lord." But I have shaken it up, says the Lord, so it can come to the surface like dross when silver is being refined.
And you will see if you are willing to let go—really let go—says the Lord, that I will begin to water what remains and strengthen what remains. Those things that I have put in you, I will strengthen them and bring them to the fore, and people will come and to you and say, "You've changed. What has shifted? What has happened?"
And you will give me the glory, because you cannot change yourself. But I am changing you. I am the change agent in your life. The Holy Spirit is the change agent in your life—and the Holy Spirit dwells on the inside of you. And He is working on you even when you don't know it. He is whittling away things that don't belong there.
And as you yield to Him, says the Lord, as you yield to the work of the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, you will see His fruit manifest, you will see His gifts manifest, you will see the love of God toward others—even those who have wronged you—manifest. You will see it, says the Lord.

The Battle for the Heart and Soul of the IDF - Tsvi Sadan ISRAEL TODAY

The Battle for the Heart and Soul of the IDF

Monday, January 30, 2017 |  Tsvi Sadan  ISRAEL TODAY
The IDF has been at the center of passionate public debate since last year's speech by Maj.-Gen. Yair Golan, at the time the army's deputy chief of staff, on the occasion of Holocaust Memorial Day.
His remarks on Israeli society kicked up a firestorm that refuses to subside. According to Golan, Israel today reminds him of the "horrific processes which developed in Europe – particularly in Germany – 70, 80, and 90 years ago, and finding remnants of that here among us in the year 2016."
The general's harsh statement was perceived as left-wing ideology the type of which has been firmly entrenched within the IDF's upper echelons, resulting in questionable moral codes that severely hinder the army's very purpose to protect Israel.
Particularly annoyed by this is the religious community, which sees the liberal values of gender equality and LGBT rights as especially aggravating since those directly contradict Jewish religious laws. One of the harshest critics of the IDF is Rabbi Zvi Tau, head of Har Hamor Yeshiva. Among the national religious yeshivas, the prestigious Har Hamor is branded as "national-Orthodox," a relative newcomer among the Zionist religious movements that are typically lenient.
R. Tau, who previously insisted that the IDF leadership had no mandate to alter Jewish culture, spoke recently with the heads of religious pre-military academies (mechinot) to discuss whether or not it was permitted for their graduates to serve in the Israeli army.
The discourse, published by the religious portal Kipa, reveals the depth of the crisis between the religious community and the IDF.
To clarify, R. Tau is adamant that young religious Jews should not be give the option to refuse military service. "If for a moment we'll be left without an army, we will have no country … on account of some who have fallen flat on their faces should we not do what is right?" he questioned.
Tau's remedy is to strengthen religious education so that the students would find the inner strength to resist the army's insistence on doing what is wrong. "Is there any other place in the world where, as a matter of abiding principle, men and women are bedded in the same place … are these human norms?" he wondered. "This is how one loses sanity, the basic norms of God's image in human beings."
Tau, therefore, is calling on religious soldiers to pay the price for being forced into unlawful norms. "The people of Israel have stood firm for two millennia of exile," he said, "and here is someone holding on to the new demon of post modernism, he will try to make us leave our religion? We are willing to take part in whatever is asked, but not in this madness, not in this beastly behavior."
This battle over the army's spirit is far from over and shows at least one thing - that unlike in the past, attempts to fundamentally alter the army's culture can no longer go unnoticed, nor can the army afford to ignore the challenges it faces from devout Jews.
