A love that changes lives - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dr. Erez Soref, President of ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

Last Thursday we held a praise and worship evening on the third night of Hanukkah, coming before Yeshua together as one in Him. We have been reading about Paul's great love for the Thessalonian believers at the end of 1 Thessalonians 2, where he describes them as his crown! Paul's passion for building up believers in love is a great inspiration to us.

Yeshua coming to us in the flesh is such a clear expression of God's great love for us, and as we grow in love for Yeshua together, we also grow in love for one another. This is the love that changes lives.

It is wonderful at this special holiday time to focus on our savior, Yeshua, and celebrate what He has done in our lives. We are so grateful for all he has done for us personally, as a nation, and through this ministry, ONE FOR ISRAEL. At this time of year, we are reminded Yeshua is the best gift the world could ever know. God has given Himself to us, and we, in turn, gladly give our lives to Him.

We are so grateful to you for your support and love for Israel and the Middle East. Thanks to the prayers and gifts of believers from all over the world, the powerful message of the gospel is reaching many Jews and Arabs. Lives are being changed before our eyes!

Why Do Some People Object To Christmas?

December 25th: A joyful day to celebrate the Messiah coming to earth...or a hijacked pagan holiday? Does the date really matter? And how did it become the 25th of December anyway? Some are keen to steer clear of anything approximating idol worship and will avoid such traditions like the plague. However, as we shall see, there are also good reasons to say there is nothing wrong with Christmas decorations and celebrations, or even the very date of December 25thContinue reading...

SHOCKING: The Mayor Of Nazareth Tried To Cancel Christmas In The City!

A few days ago, in true grinch fashion, the Mayor of Nazareth announced that the annual public Christmas festivities and street celebrations in the city of Nazareth were cancelled. The mayor explained to The Times of Israel that his decision was in response to President Donald Trump's recent announcement that the United States officially recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's capital and will move the American embassy to Jerusalem. The mayor told the paper, "The decision [by Donald Trump regarding Jerusalem] has taken away the joy of the holiday, and we will thus cancel the festivities this year." Continue reading...

"I've crossed the point of no return!" - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dec. 12, 2017

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

"At that time, they were celebrating the feast of Dedication in Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon." (John 10:22-23)

Hanukkah, the Feast of Dedication, will begin on Tuesday evening. The story behind the feast and how it started is quite interesting, as well as the meaning for us today. It is a story of Israel, Jerusalem and the temple, as well as a time of miracles, purification and rededication.

JERUSALEM, YESTERDAY AND TODAY

President Trump's important speech has caused shockwaves around the world. Jerusalem is once again at the center of worldwide controversy (but not for the last time - see Zechariah 12:2-3). President Trump's statement is similar to President Harry S. Truman's declaration 70 years ago, when Truman recognized the State of Israel. Both men made their statements despite great opposition from other nations and from within their own governments. Continue reading...

For us at ONE FOR ISRAEL, we remain steadfast in our conviction that the peace we are to pray for is found in the Prince of Peace, Yeshua the Messiah. We are determined to bring this Gospel of peace to all in Israel and its surroundings, both Jews and Arabs, encouraging those in need, and training believers through our Bible college.

Most of all, we are eagerly awaiting the day when Jerusalem, its inhabitants, and all our people will cry out, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"

GOD'S WORD GOES FORTH FROM ZION

Meanwhile, Jewish and Arab people continue to meet their Messiah as they hear the Good News. We received this message from an Jewish man a while ago, admitting,

"I believe, but I'm afraid. I feel a change has happened, and I've crossed the point of no return!"

Similarly, our outreach in Arabic continues to impact those in the Arab world, and our staff are working to disciple the new believers in The Way of Yeshua. A few months ago, someone from an Al Quaida background in Syria came to faith, and is now our brother in Messiah!

Celebrating Hanukkah

Yeshua's best friend, John, tells us that Yeshua was in Jerusalem for Hanukkah; the Feast of Dedication. So why don't his followers celebrate it too? Well, some of them do. Hanukkah is a Jewish feast, but not one of God's commanded feasts in the Bible. The holiday is famous for its nine-branch candlestick (instead of the seven-branch one mentioned in Exodus) and donuts! But the roots of the Feast of Dedication might be more Biblical than most people realize. Continue reading...

How Can We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem?

Psalm 122 urges us to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem", or more literally, to ask about the shalom of Jerusalem. What does it mean? Is it talking here about the need to pray for the city itself? Or for spiritual salvation, as true peace starts within? Or a bit of both? Let's look at what the Bible has to say about the significant city, and some suggestions about how we can pray today. Continue reading...

Do you know how many Messianic believers there are in Israel today? - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

On my recent visit to the US, I had the privilege of presenting the latest research regarding the exciting developments that are happening in Israel among God's people.

The data for this presentation (which will come out as chapter in a book in the coming months) came from an extensive survey of Messianic Jewish believers in Israel we conducted at the Bible College. The goal of this research is to understand more about who we are, and where we are at as Israeli Messianic Jews. The results are very enlightening! Click on the picture below to watch the video telling the story of the blossoming Messianic Jewish movement in Israel, and sharing some initial results from our research.

The presentation briefly surveys Messianic Jewish activity before the rebirth of Israel, the reason why there were only 23 Messianic Jews in Israel on 14th May 1948, to the number of Messianic Jews living and working in Israel today. God has done so much! You'll be amazed to hear this story!

A RIP-ROARING ADVENTURE

Jewish people are coming to know the Lord all the time, all over the world. Andrew Klavan is a well-known Jewish author and presenter who used to battle with serious depression. Like his best selling books, his life story is quite the adventure! Watch his story below:

Should You Stone
Your Children To Death When They Curse You? (Lev 20:9)

Let's jump a few thousand years back to the time of the ancient Near East, a culture and mindset completely foreign to ours today, whose social structures are badly damaged by the Fall. Within this context, God raises up a new nation with new laws to live by, in order to create a new culture for them. In doing so, He adapts His expectations to a people whose attitudes and actions are subject to influence by the pagan nations around them. These laws aren't the permanent, divine ideal for all peoples everywhere at all times. They are specific to that people with their specific needs in that ancient era. Continue reading...

Does Israel In The Bible Really Mean Israel?

When we read about Israel in the Bible, what does it mean for us today? About a third of the world identify themselves as Christian, but Israel is 0.7% of the world. Even if you were to count all the Jewish people in the world, it is still only 2%, so when the Bible talks about Israel all the time, is God really only talking about this tiny minority of his people? Many Christians read prophecies concerning Israel and songs about Israel as if they were about all of his people - Christians included. Most of us read the Bible assuming that when God says "Israel" he really means "us". And there are good reasons to think this way. Continue reading...
