Get a Menorah in Time for Chanukah! ✡ "Seven Lamps Are Upon It" - ISRAEL365,

I see and behold - there is a menorah of gold with its bowl on its top; its seven lamps are upon it, and there are seven ducts for the lamps on its top.

ZECHARIAH (4:2)

ra-ee-tee v'-hi-nay m'-no-rat za-hav ku-la v'-gu-la al ro-sha v'-shiv-a nay-ro-te-ha a-le-ha - shiv-a v'-shiv-a mu-tza-kot la-nay-rot a-sher al ro-sha

Today's Israel Inspiration

Our Sages in the Talmud refer to Jerusalem as "the light of the world." The symbol of this holy spiritual light was the Menorah (Temple lamp) which emanated light through the unusual windows of the Sanctuary. The windows were made narrower on the inside - bringing less sunlight into the Sanctuary, but maximizing the spiritual light that burst forth to the world. Enlighten yourself this season with a beautiful Menorah from the Land of Israel.

This Israeli Arab Woman Deserves a Standing Ovation!

We're spellbound by this speech before the Israeli Knesset by Sara Zoabi, a proud Muslim ISRAELI who urges her fellow Israeli Arabs to wake up and realize that Israel is a paradise with equal rights, freedom of speech and worship.

Christians Stand Up for Rachel's Tomb as a Jewish, not Muslim, Holy Site

Last week, UNESCO approved a Palestinian resolution to change the status of Rachel’s Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs from Jewish to Muslim sites. A Christian group is fighting this "disinformation that attempts to destroy the Israelite connection to these holy sites."

Bronze Dreidel

This beautiful bronze dreidel is decorated with colorful jewels and engraved with a skyline of Jerusalem. It is decorated on all four sides with the four Hebrew letters corresponding to the phrase “a great miracle happened here.”

Today's Israel Photo

Today's photo shows the golden Menorah which sits at the top of the steps leading down to the Western Wall. Incredibly, this Menorah is biblically-accurate, made of pure gold according to all the specifications of the Torah, ready and waiting to be used in the future Temple!

Yesterday's Photo Trivia

You got it! Yesterday's photo showed an Israeli soldier who just finished his beret march at the top of Masada. In Hebrew, "Masada" means "fortress." This is one of Israel's most popular tourist destinations!

Secret Word Patterns in the Bible ✡ "Before the Eyes of All Israel"

The Lord spoke these words to your entire assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the opaque darkness, with a great voice.

DEUTERONOMY (5:19)

et ha-d'-va-reem ha-ay-le di-ber a-do-nai el kol k'-hal-khem ba-har mi-tokh ha-aysh he-a-nan v'-ha-a-ra-fel kol ga-dol

Today's Israel Inspiration

The Torah is infused with word patterns which reveal incredible hidden connections between the Bible stories. Ready for a cool example? The word "voice" (קול) appears seven times in the story of Rebecca, Isaac, Jacob and Esau, and seven times in the narrative of the revelation at Sinai in Deuteronomy. Rebecca used a similar style of language to command Jacob to hearken to her voice as Moses used to command the children of Israel to hearken to the voice of God. Can you guess the connection between choosing Jacob over Esau, and the giving of the Torah at Sinai? Find out in a book that will literally astound you with awesome word patterns throughout the Torah, proving that the Torah is a Divine work which no man could have created.

Masada Like You've Never Seen ✡ "My Kindness and My Fortress"

My kindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield in Whom I take refuge

PSALMS (144:2)

חַסְדִּי וּמְצוּדָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי וּמְפַלְטִי לִי מָגִנִּי וּבוֹ חָסִיתִי

תהילים קמד:ב

khas-dee u-m'-tzu-da-tee mis-ga-bee u-m'-fal-tee lee ma-gi-nee u-vo kha-see-tee

Today's Israel Inspiration

Here's why Masada is Israel's #1 tourist destination after Jerusalem. Along with its sheer height and incredible ancient ruins, the story of the Jewish zealots who withstood a three-year siege by the Romans has become a symbol of heroic resistance. In their last days, a man named Eleazar Ben Yair made this final speech: "My loyal followers, long ago we resolved to serve neither the Romans nor anyone else but only God, who alone is the true and righteous Lord of men." Thereafter, the zealots took their own lives to avoid capture, save for two women and their few children in hiding. Masada stands symbolically for 'never again shall we fall,' and in Hebrew, "Masada" מצדה comes from the word in our verse meaning "fortress."

Steadfast Like Zion ✡ "Will Not Falter"

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which will not falter but will abide forever.

PSALMS (125:1)

הַבֹּטְחִים בַּי-הֹוָה כְּהַר צִיּוֹן לֹא יִמּוֹט לְעוֹלָם יֵשֵׁב

תהילים קכה:א

ha-bot-kheem ba-a-do-nai k'-har tzee-yon lo yi-mot l'-o-lam yay-shayv

Jerusalem Inspiration

In today's verse, King David likens those with unwavering faith to the mountain of Zion. Just as the mountain ranges of Jerusalem stand eternal, unchanging and steadfast, so must we strive to maintain our trust in God and His ways in this world.  There is no better example of unfaltering faith than the Nation's yearnings to return to their homeland for 2,000 long years. Those that merit to live in the holy land maintain strong faith, amidst adversity,  that God will provide. This Passover, Israel365 has chosen to help strengthen the faith of those in need in Israel. Help us gladden the hearts of those families stricken with poverty, so that they too can enjoy the Passover holiday with good faith and plentiful tables.

Bibi Thanks God at Western Wall

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prayed at the Western Wall after his historic re-election, and then spoke to the nation of Israel from here, the heart of the nation.

Passing of "The Prime Ministers" Author

We mourn the passing of Yehuda Avner, the 86 year old former ambassador and senior advisor to five Israeli prime ministers, who authored “The Prime Ministers,” an epic recounting of his insider experience working among the founding fathers of Israel.

"The Prime Ministers"

Honor the memory of author Yehuda Avner by purchasing his epic book.  "The Prime Ministers" is the first and only insider account of Israeli  politics from the founding of the Jewish State to the near-present day. It reveals stunning details of life-and-death decision-making, top-secret military operations and high level peace negotiations. You won't be able to put it down!

Jerusalem Daily Photo

Western Wall employees remove thousands of handwritten notes placed between the ancient stones of the Western Wall. The operation is carried out twice each year: before the Passover festival and at the Jewish New Year in the fall.

Yesterday's Photo Trivia

Yesterday's photo featured Israeli soldiers hiking up Masada, Israel's #1 tourist spot outside of Jerusalem. Soldiers affirm the oath of allegiance on its summit with a defiant cry, “Masada will never fall again!”
