When God intends great mercy for His people, the first thing He does is to set them apraying." Those are the oft-repeated words of the 17th-century Welsh minister and author Matthew Henry.

Little did Henry know when he uttered those words that perhaps the greatest revival in the earth's history—the Welsh Revival that took place from 1904 to 1905 and, many believe, is the root of every great revival in the world since—would break out in his homeland.

Indeed, the Azusa Street Revival, which is widely considered the birthplace of the modern-day Pentecostal movement, was inspired by intercessors who saw or heard how God was moving in Wales and prayed for the Holy Spirit to sweep over their city. And in 1906, He did.

Over 100 years later, our merciful God has set His people apraying once again—and Lou Engle has been partnering with Him to issue calls for massive intercession over America for more than three decades. Lou is a modern-day revivalist; a prophetic voice who has inspired a generation of youth to fast and pray for God's mercy and labor for social justice.

When God called me in 2012 to make prayer my life's work, I looked to the likes of Lou, IHOP's Mike Bickle and Dutch Sheets—along with history's intercessors such as Daniel Clary and Father Nash—for inspiration. What I discovered was that there are many different ways to pray for a nation.

You, for example, can walk out 2 Chronicles 7:14—"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." You can execute strategic Spirit-inspired prayer assignments in your city. You can launch a house of prayer, as I did four years ago. You can gather the masses at stadium prayer events that unite generations to cry out to God—or work on many other initiatives.

Lou has done all that and more and is pulling off perhaps his biggest, most pivotal prayer event ever April 9 at TheCall Azusa at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It was thrilling to interview Lou for our March cover story hear about how God called him to intercession for revival and learn about plans for what could be, prophetically speaking, a historic prayer meeting in America.

On the same day in Washington, D.C., pastors will band together to make an appeal to heaven. Meanwhile, Dutch Sheets, who birthed the Appeal to Heaven movement, has launched an app that encourages every Christian in America to pray for the nation 15 minutes a day—and equips us with the tools to do it.

When God intends great mercy for His people, the first thing He does is set them apraying. I've never before seen so many believers rallying together to pray—and crossing denominational lines to do it.

From The Response prayer events in strategic American cities to prayer rooms in revival centers and churches across America, God is uniting believers to pray for a nation in crisis, invading the seven mountains of society—arts and entertainment, business, education, family, government, media and religion—with the Word of God that promises not to return void but to accomplish that which it was sent to do.

As I wrote in my book The Next Great Move of God: An Appeal to Heaven for Spiritual Awakening, God is not done with America. He wants to bring a Third Great Awakening to the nation. I believe it's a Great Awakening that will spill over into the nations of the Earth, just like Azusa Street.

For all the doom-and-gloom prophecies over America, there is yet a rising cry from respected voices from various streams of the body of Christ who sense God's heart—and God's hope—for America even in the midst of discipline. Despite the reality that a degree of judgment has come to America—and that we may continue to reap from the wicked seeds we've sown for a longer season—many agree that God is not done with America. There is hope.

As Lou once said, "Now, many look at the state of the nation and are deeply discouraged, but I am filled with hope. I have read history; most great moves of God erupted in the darkest times of crisis and were preceded by years of intercession. Today, I have more expectation for the Great Awakening in America than I ever have had."

The Kansas City Royals rallied to win the World Series on Sunday, and many in Kansas City and beyond are shouting for joy—even if they are not hardcore baseball fans. That's because they are believing the prophets and hoping to prosper.

Indeed, the win was not only significant because it was the first time in 30 years the Royals took home the championship; it's significant because it fulfills a string of prophecies and stirs hope in the hearts of many contending for revival in Kansas City and America.

Mike Bickle, director of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOPKC), shares a Bob Jones prophecy in the ministry's prophetic history. He explains that Jones prophesied during the 1985 World Series:

"God, the Holy Spirit is going to create worldwide attention to be focused on Kansas City ... That's the good news. Here's the bad news. The Lord is going to do it through the baseball game.

"It looks like Kansas City is down and out and will never make it and suddenly at 5 till 12 the Lord brings the victory in. That's the spiritual message over this movement breaking forth in this city. 

When it looks like it is five till twelve and Kansas City is counted out. Suddenly at 5 till 12 the Lord's breaking in victory."

Later, Jones told Bickle: "I heard it! I heard it out loud. I heard it in my dream. I heard the voice of the Lord. It spoke resounding. I heard it very clear. The Lord said, 'Eleven is the number because it's the 11th hour victory. It's the 11th hour victory He's going to give Kansas City."

The 1985 match went down in baseball history as the "Miracle World Series" because it looked hopeless. From the outside looking in, it didn't appear there was any way the Royals were going to pull out a victory. Kansas City was down three games to one and had to win four in a row to take the crown. Thirty years ago, Jones went on to tell Bickle:

"You're going to be counted out many times by people and at 5 till 12, in the 11th hour, the Lord is going to break through and this prayer movement is going to succeed and it's going to get the attention of the entire earth. This is going to happen. You wait and watch the baseball league."

Of course, this was long before IHOPKC was going hard 24/7 with worship and prayer. It was before a generation of youth started contending for revival. And this was before Bob Hartley, founder of Hartley Institute/Deeper Waters Ministry in Kansas City, had six dreams about the drama of the Kansas City Royals. Here's the bottom line of those prophetic encounters:

"Watch the Royals, because after many years of disappointment, the Royal ones are entering into a time of Numbers 27:18-23, where they are being commissioned to enter into the promises. Watch them, as they will win and bring a shift from hopelessness to hope ... This is going to be like 1985. Do you remember what brought them home? ... Hope unseen will get them to first base. Then they will become unburdened and light on their feet. 

This carefree hope will get them to second base. They will be filled with joy and happily steal third base with childlike hope ... but salvation will come from an unlikely place and 'hope against hope' will bring them home."

And then it happened. The Royals won the World Series in 2015 after a heartbreaking Game 7 loss to San Francisco last year. As the Associated Pressput it, "For these resilient Royals, no deficit is too large, no time in the game too late."

At a time when hopeless is striking the heart of America and men's hearts threaten to fail them for fear of economic meltdowns, plagues, earthquakes and other evil prophetic forebodings, the words of Jones and Hartley are ringing in the ears of Believers around the nation believing for a Third Great Awakening.

Could God be speaking words of life and hope—and revival—through a baseball game?

6 Ways to Be a Responsible News Junkie

Do not hear what I'm not saying. I teach and live a reasonable work/life balance, keeping healthy priorities while staying engaged with the issues facing us today. What I am appealing for is a purposeful refusal to withdraw from the cultural battle in light of the cascading string of defeats we've been experiencing with this present presidential administration. Stay in faith that "where sin increased, grace abounded much more" (Rom. 5:20). God has plans for those who remain steadfast in this urgent hour of history and purpose to look not at that which is seen but rather that which is unseen (see 2 Cor.4:18).

My longtime friend Mike Bickle recently texted me that I'm a "son of Issachar who understood the times and knew what Israel should do" (1 Chr. 12:32). I want to be able to help people. I invite you to join me.

Here are six realities that should keep us sober and engaged while the Lord outworks His purposes. The situation is too serious to clam up, shut down and simply hope Jesus comes back quickly. Look what's happening! People need the gospel and biblical truth to counter these occurrences. There's just too much at stake for us to unplug. We have got to stay informed and vigilant.

1. About $500 million of our tax dollars support Planned Parenthood as both an abortion mill and retail outlet of human baby body parts. This is gruesome, barbaric and reprehensible. Their president openly lies on national television while Hillary Rodham Clinton defends the factual video expose as an "attack on a woman's right to choose."

2. President Obama celebrates a deal with Iran allowing them to eventually have the nuclear weapons he promised he would never allow. Comparing himself to Ronald Reagan who dealt decisively with the Soviet Union as an "evil empire" that would end up "on the ash heap of history," President Obama accommodates the world's primary state supporter of terrorism that regards us as "satanic" and deserving of being eradicated along with Israel to usher in the Islamic "messiah" and global domination. This "deal" places us on a path to the destructive holocaust prophesied in Revelation 6, where a third of mankind is killed—over 2/3 of a billion people.

3. Our illegal immigration debacle escalates to staggering proportions with sanctuary cities brazenly violating federal law, while states like Virginia (from which I just returned) is being transformed from 1 in 100 Virginians born outside the US in 1970 to now 1 in 9. Stats on illegal aliens' crimes in Texas from 2008–2014: 611,234 crimes, 2,993 homicides, 7,695 sexual assaults! Over 175,588 criminal aliens were booked into Texas jails in this period. Obama administration executive actions shield more than 80 percent of the 11.3 million aliens from deportation. Astonishing and alarming! (See PJ media.com).

4. African leaders strongly beseech President Obama not to push gay and lesbian issues in his visit to their nation but respect their biblical values on marriage and family. He defies the Christian Kenyan President Kenyatta with veiled threats, lecturing on the LGBTQ theme and forces the Kenyan president to correct our frowning President in a tense press conference. Globally, Christians lament our President's conduct among the precious African Christians trying to stop the spread of AIDS coming primarily from homosexual activity.

5. A lesbian senator and a gay congressman have introduced what is being called "the next gay rights fight" for America, the "Equality Act." It specifically prohibits claims of religious belief under the "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" as a defense for "discrimination" against gays. The Heritage Foundation stated that this measure would "endanger" constitutionally protected religious freedoms and free-speech rights. The real agenda all along was not bringing equality in marriage to homosexuals, but a satanic one of marginalizing Christians by legally exposing them to persecution if they follow their faith. Remember what the pattern was with the Jews in Nazi Germany?

6. After 105 years upholding godly standards and boys reciting an oath to remain "morally straight," the Boy Scouts of America leadership caved to welcome adult homosexual scout leaders. For the present time, church-sponsored units can have an exemption (until the inevitable lawsuit comes to obliterate even this provision). Parents and grandparents, pay close attention as a "news junkie" on this one (see article by this author on this topic at larrytomczak.com).

Conclusion

Over 30 years ago, Francis Schaeffer said, "We can expect the future to be a further disaster if the evangelical world does not take a stand for biblical truth and morality in the full spectrum of life... we represent the last barrier against the breakdown of our culture. And with the final removal of this barrier will come social chaos and the rise of authoritarianism in some form to restore order."

In this urgent hour, we need all hands on deck. We must remain prayerful and informed biblically to winsomely speak the truth to those in our sphere of influence. Consider what was shared recently by a former pastor and one of the Republican presidential candidates, former governor Mike Huckabee.

"There are 80 million evangelicals in America. Those registered to vote—half. Those who voted in the last presidential election—half of that number. Those who voted in the off-year election—half of that number. If just 4 percent had voted differently in the last presidential election, we would have a different Administration in office today."

Here's the deal: Don't retreat. Stay in the game! Remain a responsible and reasonable news junkie so you can pray intelligently and engage people effectively as a "salt" and "light" Christian prior to the Return of Jesus Christ.

Faithfulness Carries Its Rewards

God will reward you in your faithfulness and diligence in pursuing Him. (Lightstock )

How diligently are you seeking God? Do you remain steady in your love for Him no matter what, or do you let life's disappointments interfere with your pursuit of Him? Daniel loved God and showed it in his daily life in spite of his circumstances, and the Lord responded.

The Lord revealed His love to Daniel in a deep way through an angel, who addressed Daniel as the beloved of the Lord: "He [the angel] said to me, 'O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have been sent to you now.' And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling" (Dan. 10:11, 19).

I assume that receiving the understanding of how much God loved him was one of the most powerful things that happened to Daniel personally. The angel said, "O Daniel, greatly beloved." Imagine a high-ranking angel telling you, "The Lord greatly loves you, and you are beloved by your God." In other words, he is saying, "The Lord is moved by the way you live. He is moved by your hunger for Him and by your lifestyle choices."

We know that God loves the world. He loves unbelievers, even though He does not enjoy a relationship with them. But there are those in whom God takes special delight; that is, He delights in the choices they make for Him. In this sense His love for them is different than that with which He loves the world. He takes greater enjoyment in those who seek to love and obey Him with all their hearts.

And God clearly took great enjoyment in Daniel. In essence He told Daniel, "I am moved by the way you care about My kingdom and My glory and the way you care about who I am. That touches Me."

Jesus taught that the Father loves all who obey Him. He loves the relationship He has with all who keep His commandments, and He loves their life choices.

"He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father. And I will love him and will reveal Myself to him" (John 14:21)

Lest we think that Jesus loves only those who love Him, let's remember that Scripture says God loved us first (1 John 4:19). But He loves the choices of those who love Him.

Jesus made the amazing statement that He would manifest Himself to those who show their love for Him in their words, actions and lifestyles. No one is "good enough" to deserve a greater manifestation of God's glory. It's not about being good enough but about positioning ourselves to receive more from God.

Every believer can have a close relationship with the Lord. Daniel was forcibly taken to Babylon as a prisoner of war in his youth. Yet even as a captive, far from his home in Jerusalem and in a foreign culture, he determined to seek God with all his heart for all his days. Today the Lord is looking for men and women like Daniel, who will set their hearts to live before God as Daniel did.

Some people are easily offended. If they don't get on the worship team at their church or aren't hired for the job position they were hoping for, they ask, "How could God allow this to happen to me? It's so rough." Yes, your heart hurts, and the pain is real, but your response to life's trials and disappointments is the crucial issue.

Look at Daniel. He was taken into captivity, and yet he determined not to defile himself and to be a man of prayer all his days. He did not let any person or any disappointment steal the vision of what he was determined to be from his heart. He remained steady in his love for God and lived out his commitment in his daily life until he died.

In my 40 years of ministry I have seen many people go hard after God for five or even 10-plus years. Most of them were young and in their twenties. By the time they reached 35, several had "good" reasons for drawing back and being more "practical."

I have seen only a few people stay consistent in seeking God with diligence for 20 or 30 years or more. Daniel stayed consistent in seeking God for 60 years, even during his time in the pagan city of Babylon.

I want the Lord to say to me on the last day, "I loved the way you spent your time and money and the way you obeyed Me; I loved the way that you loved Me." I want Him to be able to say the things about me that He said about Daniel. I want to be steady like this great man of God, even when I'm 80. What about you?

This week set your heart to live before God as Daniel did. Seek Him daily through prayer, the Word and worship. Declare His Word over your circumstances and exalt His Name as the God of the universe, our only Savior, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Commit your ways to Him and surrender all to His will. Continue to pray for worldwide revival, more laborers for His harvest fields, the spread of the gospel into unknown places, the persecuted church, the protection and destiny of Israel, our own nation and its leaders and the next generation (Dan. 10:11, 19; John 14:21; 1 John 4:19).

There's a great contest in the spirit realm that is connected to and revealed by world events such as the civic unrest in Ferguson and New York and the recent terrorist events in Paris. The warfare is setting things up for the advancement of the kingdom...IF WE CAN SEIZE THE MOMENT.

• When the 5 is out front it means “Lo” as in “Lo and behold - Watch and See!"
• God is about to step through the door He formed for your life.
• The number 5000 (in 5774) is the Hebrew word = “Beautiful"
• 700 is the Hebrew word for "Zion” and “Kingdom” and is formed by the symbol of a sword and crown working together!
• 7 is the Hebrew word for “SEE”

This the the year the loose ends come together and God steps into the door and reveals the beauty of His plan. A remnant is being positioned to manifest the wisdom of Christ and the authority of His kingdom!

This celebration of Bob Jones life, who passed on Feb. 14, 2014 (Valentines Day) at the age of 84, was held at MorningStar Ministries Heritage International in Fort MIll, SC. Attended by several thousand, worship leaders and speakers gave tribute to Bob's life.

Bob, a Seer Prophet had an extraordinary supernatural prophetic gift, and was loved greatly. He was one of the most respected prophetic voices in recent times. Few touched the Body of Christ worldwide like Bob Jones. He was a forerunner and grandfather to the modern prophetic ministry, to leaders in almost every other field of influence for more than four decades. (You can read the full service booklet's words near the end of this blog posting.)

Rick Joyner gave the opening welcome at the 3:30 pm ceremony, which had followed the viewing from 1-3 pm.

As a personal testimony in knowing Bob, I want to share his prophetic word he gave to both Laurie and I, as written in my first book, The Promise - One Man's Journey To See God's Word Revealed. Here is an excerpt from Chapter 11, "Worship the Lord God of Israel", pages 82-85.

In the meantime, the Lord didn’t forget about those desires He had put in my heart from my early years.  From time to time, He would bring a word of encouragement, such as the following.

On the ninth day of January 1997, Mahesh and Bonnie had arranged a time for Bob Jones, who has an anointed prophetic voice, to come to the All Nations Church office.  He was to share with the staff and leaders of our young church.  I didn’t know much about Bob, only that the Lord was using him to speak things that others simply were not doing.  Some would think his prophetic gifting was strange, but I was open to hearing what the Lord would say through this vessel.  Laurie and a few other wives were able to join the staff too. 

We gathered in the ‘chapel’ room, a converted garage, where the Watch of the Lord was birthed only two years earlier.  Bonnie asked Bob if he would start with Laurie and I when he was ready to start to minister.

And so he began:

Bob:    Just move up here in front and face me.  Years ago, a bolt of lightning hit my hand.  In that, there comes a trembling or a feeling in my hand to the fingers.  When you feel that, I want you to move the fingers, and I’ll tell you what it means.  When the Lord intends to start a fire down here on the earth, He always does it with lightning.  Thunder is His voice, and lightning is His power. And several places in the United States now the earth is beginning to thunder and scientists can’t find out what it is.  I know what it is.  It’s God’s voice. ... it thundered continually out of a clear sky.  The voice of the Father went over this area in 1980.  What He spoke then is coming into being now.  So put your hands up like that, and when I begin to touch hands, some of you will turn totally purple.  The rest of you want to see, get up here behind.

Now this man’s hands are turning brown.  That is the love-slave.  You understand that?  Now, can you feel where the flow is coming through your fingers?  Now, you can’t feel it with your head.  Close those eyes, and just let faith arise and move those fingers.  Good. That’s right.  Here and here.  You feel it flowing? 

·                     So one thing the Lord is doing with you, you have got a pastoral anointing on you right here.

·                     Also evangelism, brother, and teaching.  And the revelation is coming for this. And this in here, the evangelism, the church needs the evangelistic encouraging edge. 

·                     Also this in here, and the revelation gifts in here are for counseling people and setting people free from all manner of things. 

·                     So what the Lord is bringing you into is also a deliverance ministry.  You understand that?  You can open your eyes now.  I just wanted you to see it, so if there is anything you don’t understand while I’m speaking.  What this is doing is confirming what you are.  You got it?  Do you?  What this is doing is showing people they are qualified to do these things. 

·                     So there’s beginning to come a good teaching ministry in you to prepare people for this evangelistic ministry, which is setting people free from all manner of things.  Healing the brokenhearted and setting the captive free.  This is what He is beginning to work in you.  And in that, the word in season will come out of you continually, so you already have the word in season for people. 

·                      

·                     And what the enemy has been trying to do to you is misdirect your visions and everything to where you’re not doing the proper intercession.  So he’s really trying to make you so busy that the intercession doesn’t get you to where faith arises in you.  You understand that?  So don’t let him do that.  Spend that quality time with Him, because you can get through to Him now.  So you’re going to be part of the soul winning, too.  Got that one?  And so, He’s bringing you to where that love in you comes to that point that it boils over and isn’t denied. 

·                     So He’s working the work of faith in you to do the things He’s called you to do.  And already He has qualified you to begin to do these things now.  And the evangelist ministry in you is to bring the Word of God and to free people from defeat, disappointment, disgust, disillusionment, and confusion.  You understand that one? 

·                     These are the things that have been coming at you.  And you’ve got a victory over that, and anything you’ve got victory over, you can free others from.  So He’s really putting the earring in the left ear to where when you stand up — whether you’ve got the word or not — the only way you can fail is to shut up, and that’s what the enemy has been wanting you to do.  So stand up instead of shut up.  Go forth and speak that encouraging word that sets people free from the change of the inner man to where the Spirit of God can get out of them and go forth and do things.  You got it? 

·                     Now the third, which you’ll begin to see, look how their hands begin to shine.  Oh, it’s a beautiful oil.  Also they’re beginning to turn purple, so here’s an intercessor, too.  Can you feel where the flow is coming up? 

·                     You have the teacher, counselor, deliverance ministry, and the praiser.  You understand that?  This is really.... sometimes you can lead others into praise, even both of you.  You’ve overcome your selfishness and self-centeredness.  You can’t praise God and remain selfish.  So you’ve got a calling right in here. 

·                     Get ready for this to start coming to blue in you — revelation.  You got that?  This is the driest thing in you.  Feel this counsel in you.  Oh, we can see it here.  Look here?  See it?  That love in you is ripe. 

·                     That pastoral mother in you is real.  I feel the balm coming.  Good, good, good.  Let it flow in your hands.  That anointing is there now.  You’ll feel the trembling and things coming.  This is Isaiah 66:2.  This trembling that came into you like it did then, you’ll feel it when you’re praying for others.  See?  When you begin to pray for others, come.  You got it?  Good. 

·                     Take a deep breath now, brother.  Good.  There it comes.  Good.  I want to show you something.  The rest of you watch this.  Okay.  Keep going.  Now let your spirit ... that’s it.  That’s it.  Good!  It’s like pouring water out of a well.  There you go.  That’s pulling Jesus up.  Good.  There it is.  See how it comes on the back of your head?  Good, that’s where you set ‘em free.  You set ‘em free with power.  Take that breath.  Good, good.  There’s your spirit man.  That’s it.  Good. Hallelujah.

·                     Now, when you’re ministering to people, this is what you do.  You can’t do anything for them.  It’s Jesus in your spirit that does it.  And when you put faith in love, releasing them, He’ll do the things He always did.  See that flow?  That’s power, brother.  See it?  See how it comes through you?  If you’ll just love.  You don’t have to know anything.  If you know, then God teaches you over on the side.  But when the Spirit comes, He’ll do what He wants to do. 

·                     One thing He’s doing here in a big way, He’s going to heal emotions.  Bonnie’s done a teaching on that, and later on today she’ll be sharing with you.  You got any questions?  It’s sort of like family here.  If you’ve got any questions, let’s get it out.  Amen. 

·                                                                     He’s preparing you ... all this preparation ... He’s like a surgeon preparing people for a new heart.  People need to be prepped for the surgery.       This is your job — prep ‘em.         

·                     This is your heart coming here — a divine heart.
