Is Trump the One? - Rick Joyner, MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin

Rick Joyner, MorningStar Ministries

Is Trump the One?

MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin #98, March 21, 2016
I hear from thousands of Christians each week, and sometimes that many in a day. I also hear from those from other faiths or no faith at all. They are diverse—from almost every denomination and nation. I don’t base the following on scientific polling, but it is a good sampling and may be even more accurate than the polls have been recently.
Most seem to think that Trump is either a messenger from the Messiah or from the antichrist, and few are in-between. Some Christians are shocked that other Christians would vote for Trump, yet polls indicate that more than half of evangelical Christians are voting for him. Why?
This is a valid question that reveals a lot about the state of the nation and also the church. The following seem to be the main reasons Christians have given for supporting Donald Trump rather than the other more vocal or devoted believers.
FACTOR #1: Many no longer trust politicians who claim to be Christians and/or conservatives. These seem to inevitably change when they get to Washington and fail to keep their promises.
FACTOR #2: There has been such a vacuum of courage in leadership that it is now esteemed above other virtues.
FACTOR #3: Fewer Christians are choosing a candidate based on the candidate’s faith. Rather they decide based on who they think will do the best job confronting the important issues of the time.
FACTOR #4: The two main issues in this election are security and the economy. Trump is seen as the strongest in both issues.
FACTOR #5: Trump’s lack of political correctness (PC) and willingness to say what he thinks has many believing he will resist political pressure and do what is right for the country, instead of for special interests.
FACTOR #6: Christians are increasingly disgusted with the Republican establishment and Trump is seen as the “wrecking ball” needed to pry the government out of the hands of the political elite.
FACTOR #7: They think that they have heard from God about Trump.
FACTOR #8: The extreme opposition to Trump from all of the bad guys proves he’s God’s choice.
There may be other factors, but these seem to be the primary ones. When we dig down on these, it is an even more stunning revelation of where the country is and potential changes in direction if these continue to grow.
The following are some of the main factors why Christians do not support Donald Trump’s nomination:
FACTOR #1: He is obviously not the kind of devout Christian they want to see as a leader, especially after Obama’s relentless assault on Christianity.
FACTOR #2: His behavior, demeanor, and language.
FACTOR #3: His seemingly immature overreaction to criticism and his tendency to try to bully opposition.
FACTOR #4: His ambiguous and/or tepid support for pro-life issues.
FACTOR #5: His lack of understanding of and/or support for Israel.
FACTOR #6: His ambiguous devotion to restoring the authority of the Constitution.
FACTOR #7: His seeming lack of understanding that a true conservative justice devoted to the Constitution, like Scalia, needs to be appointed to the Supreme Court—not someone like his liberal sister that he once inferred he would appoint.
FACTOR #8: Questionable business practices including several bankruptcies.
Like the reasons why so many Christians support Trump, there are legitimate reasons why others do not support him. What is not legitimate is for any Christian to question the faith of those who do not see this the same way that they do. Those who do this are still immature. This is why the Apostle Paul called the Corinthians “still carnal” (see I Corinthians 3)—they were dividing over people for which they had a preference. We should obey the command to “mark those who cause divisions” (see Jude 1)—those who try to create riffs in the body over things like that—and not follow them.
Trends
Although I can appreciate why any Christian would have trouble supporting Trump, it is encouraging that so many sincere and mature Christians would support him in spite of the negatives. How many of us would have chosen the ones Jesus picked to be His leaders? Why didn’t He go to the religious conservatives to find the future leaders of His church? Like it or not, the ones He chose were more like Trump than those we tend to esteem. Even the Apostle John, who is now known as the great messenger of love, was so reactionary that he wanted to call down fire from heaven to consume those who disagreed with them. On the night before Jesus was crucified, the disciples argued over who was the greatest. Sounds like Trump to me.
How many of us would continue to support a leader who, after many years of serving and walking with God as a righteous and just leader, had an affair, and even worse, had the husband killed to cover it up? Yet it is said that Israel went astray by following Absalom, who sought to displace David because of his sin.
In contrast, God commended Zadok the priest and gave an eternal blessing over his family for being faithful to David in this situation. The Lord knew when He called David that he would fall like this, but He called him anyway. And how could God love Jacob like He did? Jacob’s name means “usurper” and he was a devious liar and cheat, but “God loved Jacob.”
This should not excuse character flaws in leaders, but there will only be One perfect leader. Character is important, but an unrealistic perfectionism can make us incapable of ever choosing a Washington, a Benjamin Franklin, a Lincoln, or a Churchill. Some character traits crucial for church leadership could be a hindrance for civil government leaders. The last person you want in a civil leadership position is one who “turns the other cheek.” As we see in Romans 13, those in civil authority are given the sword “to avenge evil”—they would be disobedient to not use their weapons for this purpose.
The Pharisees were resolutely devoted to character, and Paul, the “Pharisee of Pharisees,” called himself “blameless.” However, he was the worst enemy of the church and truth until the Lord struck him blind. The Pharisees were the most devout religious conservatives of the time, yet they were the worst enemies of the Messiah. Consider how they criticized everything He said and did and ultimately were responsible for having Him crucified. Think about how much grace and mercy the Lord had for sinners and how little tolerance He had for the self-righteous.
That being said, even some of the great prophets in Scripture, like Samuel, had a hard time judging people after their heart rather than their appearance. It is hard even for prophets to see people as they are called to be rather than as they are, but that is what we must seek to do. Many Christians voted for Jimmy Carter because of his boldness about his faith, but how did that work out? I’m not saying that Trump is another Reagan, but almost all of the things now said about Trump were said about Reagan. Like Trump, Reagan seemed to be a nominal Christian when elected, but it turned out pretty good.
Even so, I admit that Trump is still a challenge. I can see sound biblical reasons for supporting him and for not supporting him. I think this is a good thing. It forces many to examine their convictions about many important things, which can only strengthen us if we refuse to let it divide us.
A New Party?
Presently it seems that Republican outrage at their own party establishment is greater than their outrage at Obama and the Democrats. The more the establishment attacks Trump, the more it is viewed as an attack on those who support him—which has now surpassed more than 50% of Republicans in the most recent polls. There is such division between the Republican establishment and the grassroots that its future as a viable force in American politics is increasingly cloudy. Many see this as the establishment being more concerned about holding on to their own power than doing what is best for the party or the country.
The establishment still does not understand that people are angry because they have good reasons to be. People feel betrayed because they have been betrayed. They elected politicians who promised to stop the madness in Washington but instead morphed into the same insanity when they got there. You can have true convictions, but if you don’t stand for them, you become worse than an unbeliever. You become a betrayer, and that’s the way many of these are now seen.
The establishment is trying to paint Trump as an outrage that cannot possibly beat Hillary. These are the same people who have not been right about anything yet in this election. So why should they be believed? Trump is outrageous at times, but what the establishment should be asking is why he is leading their party for the nomination. Why is that so preferable to what they’re offering?
Thinking people—sincere conservatives and good Christians—are convinced that it will take someone as brash and outrageous as Trump to bust up the Old Boy’s Club in Washington and save the nation. This is why every time Trump says something outrageous his poll numbers go up when all of the pundits expect the opposite.
That outrage is not abating, but growing. The party opposition to Trump, especially its hypocrisy, is throwing more fuel on the outrage. Some of the establishment saying they will not vote for Trump if he’s nominated only makes them look more hypocritical after their demand that Trump sign an agreement not to launch a third party campaign.
Kasich may be the truest personification of the establishment in this race. In one of the early debates, he blamed the people’s outrage on politicians who had promised more than they could deliver. I agree that they promised more than politicians can deliver, but not more than real leaders could have delivered. Kasich is a politician who can only think like a politician, not a leader. He is the second coming of John Boehner whose leadership, or lack of it, is complicit with Obama for many of the current crises and the retreat the nation is now in. This is why the Republicans are angrier with their own party than they are at Obama. At least Obama did the wrong he said he would do. The Republican establishment did not do what it said it would do to stop him.
It was shocking and humiliating to watch the Republicans in Washington get bullied by Obama and the media. It was refreshing when Trump called it disgusting and disgraceful. If you read the trade deals and Iran Treaty the Republicans went along with, it is shocking, disgusting, and disgraceful. Trump called them what they were.
Even if you don’t like many of the things Trump says, the sense that he will fight back, and fight hard, is more appealing to Republicans now than the empty rhetoric and promises of those who claim to be conservatives but did not act like it. The establishment made Trump inevitable. The more the establishment tries to stop him, the more inevitable he will be.
For the establishment to bring Romney out to discredit Trump is a revelation of just how out of touch the establishment is. Romney used the same attacks on Trump that were used against him in the last election, which Trump helped him to refute. This was a new level of hypocrisy and another level of stupidity, as if they did not think anyone would look back at the videos of the glowing things Romney said about Trump when Trump endorsed him in 2012. Romney looked like a shameless liar and a hypocrite. It also made the Republican establishment look even more like liars and hypocrites.
Cruz Control
There are many understandable and compelling reasons that people support Cruz. He has a deep devotion to the Constitution. With the upcoming appointments to the Supreme Court, it may be our last chance to save the Constitution. Cruz is the only true conservative left in the race, and he has proved willing to stand against the “Washington Cartel”—even if he has to do it alone and at great personal cost. One of the most courageous moments Washington has seen in a long time was when Senate Majority Leader McConnell lied and Cruz stood up and called him a liar.
Trump is making a mistake by hitting Cruz with not being liked by anyone in Washington. This may be true, but it is a good thing and for a good reason. It is because of his willingness to stand up to the establishment and challenge the business as usual in Washington. Cruz’s badge of honor is that no one in Washington likes him. He has gone toe to toe with the corruption and did not back down, even when they all turned against him.
The biggest downside to Cruz is probably his timing. It just has not worked out well lately electing first term senators to the Presidency. Cruz is Presidential material and conservatives almost all agree with his policy positions. He has brilliant and workable plans for things like simplifying the tax code, replacing Obamacare, strengthening our defense, and fixing the illegal immigration problem. Cruz would work to restore our moorings to the Constitution. He obviously has the courage to stand for what he believes. The biggest question is can he be the wrecking ball that is needed to bust things up in Washington, or will he get bogged down in the morass?
A Dream Team?
A Trump/Cruz team could be the dream team if Cruz is given some real authority as VP. This could draw in conservatives troubled by some of Trump’s previous positions and statements. Ben Carson’s endorsement of Trump helped shift the thinking of some conservatives. Huckabee has also been supportive of Trump, and he is a trusted conservative voice.
The first priority of a successful President is to build a quality team. Trump said that he would use Carson on the healthcare and education issues, and Carson would be brilliant there. Trump also has Governor Christie on his team. He could be a good Attorney General to fulfill Trump’s vow to go after those guilty of the corruption going back to “Fast and Furious,” the IRS scandal, Benghazi, Hillary’s emails, etc. There are other previous contenders who could also help make up a cabinet successful in restoring efficiency and effectiveness in government.
There is a reason why Trump has seemingly sucked all the oxygen out of the room and has so dominated the media. Understanding this is a key to understanding the state of the nation. The nation is fearful, angry, and visionless, but there is also a deep conviction that it is not time to fade away yet.
We are fearful because millions of people want to kill us. They are armed to the teeth and get more sophisticated and deadly weapons almost daily. We are angry with our government for refusing to protect our borders—the most essential foundation of security, especially in these times. We are angry because those who promised to correct the Washington insanity betrayed us, did nothing, and ran up a debt of twenty trillion with little to show for it.
I once asked a pastor how his church was doing and his reply was, “Great! This church is dying slower than any church I’ve ever pastored.” That is now happening to our country. The best any of our leaders have done in a long time is maybe slow our deterioration. If we don’t change our direction, we will end up where we’re headed. We must have a turnaround on the level of a cultural revolution now.
In the words of a great prophet to America, Leonard Ravenhill, “America is too young to die.” Scripture declares that “Where there is no vision the people perish” (see Proverbs 29:18 KJV). We are in desperate need of clear vision and a leadership with the courage, resolve, endurance, and wisdom to turn the vision into reality.
Trump has coined the catchy phrase, “Make America Great Again.” What does this mean? Obama promised “Hope” and “Change” but we know now that it was a mistake not to get a definition before hiring the one with phrases as our leader. What does a great America look like?
One thing we must keep in mind is that Washington will not be the source of our recovery. We need to look to our Source to help restore Washington to what it was created to be—a place of wisdom, righteousness, and justice that helps those called to liberate and elevate the rest of the world.

Five Spiritual Trends That Will Change
The World in 2016

MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin #97 - January 21, 2016

The premise of my last Prophetic Bulletin on the five trends that would change the natural world in 2016 began unfolding faster and with more impact than I expected. I wrote that it would happen in the first quarter of this year, but I honestly did not expect it to begin on the first day as it did. My prayer now is that what I’ve been shown that will unfold in the Spirit will likewise come faster and with greater impact. What is coming in the Spirit is the antidote to the troubles of the world. It is far more exciting than anything the world has seen.
We all “see in part,” but these are the five most important trends I saw unfolding that we will begin to see emerging this year:
  • A new reformation of the church will begin to take definition.
  • Councils of leaders will begin to form with true apostolic authority.
  • A kingdom economy will begin to form.
  • A new generation of prophets and teachers will begin to emerge with unprecedented authority and influence
  • So many Christians will rise up in Europe and North America with zeal and focus that it will be recognized as another Great Awakening, while the moves of God in the rest of the world will gain new traction.
A New Reformation of the Church Will Begin to Take Definition
I have been seeing and speaking on this for many years. Over time, I have seen more of what this will look like. One of the biggest changes with the greatest impact will be the body of Christ beginning to take on the military aspects we are called to have to become the army of the Lord we are called to be. I just published a book on this entitled, Army of the Dawn. One pastor just told me he thought this was my best book yet. That is a matter of perspective and also timeliness, but I know its message is on time. We will see the greatest force for the gospel since the Lord Himself walked the earth. Since this book has already received wide distribution, I will not say any more about this here.
The second aspect of this reformation I was shown is how the body of Christ will become the “city” it’s called to be. A change is coming to church life that will be more profound than we have yet seen. It will be based more on koinonia than ecclesia. This does not negate the need for ecclesia (the government and structure of the church), but according to I John 1:7, we abide in the light by having koinonia, not ecclesia.Koinonia determines if we are walking in the light because it is based on love first, not organization first. Again, this is not negating the need for organization and government, but it is a matter of getting the horse in front of the cart and building on the right foundation. The result will be spectacular.
The fellowship and union coming to the body of Christ will cause the church to be the “city set on a hill” that gets everyone’s attention. It will be the greatest society the world has seen since the first century, eclipsing even what was experienced then. “The glory of the latter house will be greater than the former” (see Haggai 2:9), causing the church to become the light it is called to be in the dark and confusing times the world is sliding into. This fellowship will become so wonderful that Christians will want to meet every day. Christian communities will begin forming again, having their own infrastructure, and ultimately, their own economy.
Of course we won’t see this happen in a year, but we will see the beginning of it. Ultimately no sporting event, entertainment, or other event will compare with the life and excitement found in the church.
Councils of Leaders Will Begin to Form with True Apostolic Authority
I was first shown in 1987 that this was coming. I think this has happened to a degree in some places, but not on the level that I saw. This year we will begin to see the real thing, but in its formative stage. Ultimately these councils will help release extraordinary authority and life in the church. They will moor the church to its right biblical foundation, giving it the stability that some of the greatest missions and ministries will be built upon.
This year we will see increasing grace on leadership meetings, especially those that cross denominational and movement boundaries, beginning to bring the necessary interchange and cross pollination in the church.
A Kingdom Economy Will Begin to Form
Ultimately the body of Christ will have its own economy that will grow with consistency and strength. Because of this, no Christian will need to be concerned about the mark of the beast. However, this is not just about having an alternative to the beast—it is laying a foundation for the economy of the coming kingdom of God, one built on the greatest economic principle: “Love never fails” (see I Corinthians 13:8).
As world markets continue to shake, plunge, and collapse, the kingdom economy cannot go down because “there will be no end to the increase of His kingdom” (see Isaiah 9:7). Whatever is truly built on the kingdom has to increase. For those looking for a safe place to put investments, it won’t get any safer or better than this emerging kingdom economy. For those saying, “Where is it?”, you can’t see it if you do not see the kingdom. If we can see His kingdom, we will see its economy as it emerges.
We must be born again to see the kingdom, but not everyone who is born again sees the kingdom. To see the kingdom we must use the key to the kingdom. That key is Matthew 6:33: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
A New Generation of Prophets and Teachers Will Begin to Emerge with Worldwide Authority and Influence
The Holy Spirit is moving. One characteristic of every true move of the Spirit is a growing love of the truth and an increasing love for the Scriptures (the Holy Spirit’s bestselling book). At the same time, many called as teachers to the body that have devoured the Word of God and accumulated knowledge and understanding on a host of topics will be used to build the church, preparing it for what it is called to be in these times. The Lord really has saved His best wine for last. The quality of what He will serve His people will eclipse anything ever experienced before.
Knowledge has greatly increased in the natural. What is about to be released in the Spirit will mirror this. For those who love knowledge, truth, wisdom, and understanding, there has never been a better time to be alive. This increasing love for the Scriptures will be contagious, helping to feed and strengthen every move of God now unfolding.
Prophetic revelation will also eclipse anything God’s people have experienced before. As we are told in Acts 2:17-18, “in the last days” the Lord will pour forth His Spirit, resulting in “dreams, visions, and prophecy” upon the old and young, men and women. We will begin to see a new wave of the prophetic released. This happens “in the last days” because in these times, we will need this kind of specific direction and guidance. At times it may be life or death to hear Him say to us not to go somewhere, or to go where we are not intending. We will all need this kind of sensitivity to the Spirit in the times to come, and we will get it.
I saw the emerging prophetic ministers as mountain climbers. They would go up a little bit and secure their new position with stakes driven deep into the rock, fastening themselves to the mountain and to each other. Then they would go a little higher and do the same again. This time will not be like having a lot of individuals scattered all over the mountain climbing virtually alone. The emerging prophets will be secured to each other and to the mountain of the house of the Lord.
So Many Christians Will Rise Up with Zeal and Focus that it Will be Recognized as Another Great Awakening
The plagues that came upon Egypt parallel the ones in the Book of Revelation. This is because the plagues at the end of this age have the same purpose as the ones that came upon Egypt—to set God’s people free. For the last few years, some have awakened and begun to seek the kingdom first above anything else. These will be powerful messengers who will help wake up the rest of the body of Christ.
An awakened, encouraged church is also the most powerful evangelistic force there has ever been. As this Awakening continues to unfold, there will be many new believers. We are entering the first stages of the great harvest that is the end of this age. This will be the greatest ingathering there has ever been. It will change the spiritual and moral fabric of nations, profoundly changing the church throughout the earth. The church is then going to help change the earth and prepare the way for the coming King.

Prophetic Bulletin

- Message to the Supreme Court

Printer-friendly version
MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin #92 - April 8, 2015
This is concise and clear statement on the implications of the coming Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage could be the biggest blow in recent history to religious freedom in America, and may truly be, as it is being called, "A Bonhoeffer Moment." This is a must read for every Christian in America. – Rick Joyner
This Tuesday, March 10, I was asked to join more than thirty other deeply concerned church leaders on a conference call. The topic was the marriage and family-damaging decision the Supreme Court may soon make.
If they follow present cultural trends and rulings of numerous lower courts, by June they will rule against the biblical and historical institution of marriage in favor of what is being called “same-sex marriage.” Below are excerpts from comments and concerns expressed by those who participated in the call.
These comments have been edited and condensed without compromising the content or concerns. I felt very deeply in my heart that it should be shared with all who are concerned about the obvious assault on faith, family and freedom.

Opening remarks by Rick Scarborough (President – Vision America Action)
There is a growing concern about the nature of the ruling the Supreme Court will hand down in June on same-sex marriage. We believe that the majority of the Court will rule in favor of elevating what we have always taught to be a sinful lifestyle to the stature of a civil right — forcing us to choose between their ruling and our religious convictions that are based on Scripture. This ruling will conflict with our deeply held conviction and religious belief.
With the current administration, there is every reason to believe that the Executive Branch will use the full weight of the Federal justice system to enforce this. We must be prepared for that possibility.
I am speaking as a minister to the moral and biblical ramifications of this expected ruling. This would be a decision as incorrect and as tragic as Dred Scott. Because of the trends and cultural shifts that we have witnessed in culture over the past forty years, we have all known that this day would likely come and Christians would be put at odds with the culture and the courts.
I believe we are there. We are approaching a Bonhoeffer moment in America.
Outrageous penalties are now being assessed against people of faith and conviction who haven’t changed their position on marriage. Rather it’s the courts that have changed the definitions, the rules, and laws that now govern us. They are ruling against Nature’s Law and Nature’s God. Christians are being declared the lawbreakers when we are simply living by what we have always believed, and by a set of laws that the culture historically has agreed to.
My desire as a pastor is to see another Great Awakening, and I pray that those caught up in any sin will find Jesus and God’s grace, but that can only come when there is a biblical standard lifted up and acknowledged as truth. Right now the courts are changing the playing field and declaring that what the natural eye can see and natural law reveals is not truth. Therefore, this is a Bonhoeffer moment. What will we do, and how will we respond?
The timing of this conference call in coordination with the anniversary of the stand on the bridge in Selma is remarkable. Things do not change if no one stands up and takes the brunt. Right after a word from Dr. Dobson, Mat Staver will walk us through the seriousness of the situation. We must find the mind of God and walk uprightly regardless of the direction of the culture or the Court.

Dr. James Dobson (Founder – Family Talk Radio)
Thank you, Rick. That was a beautiful statement you made, and it stirs my heart. As Christian leaders, we cannot sit and let our voices go silent when that’s what the rest of the world, Congress, and many other Christian leaders and pastors are doing. We must stand together. Everyone I have talked to here at Family Talk agrees.
We will be attacked from every direction, and critics will do all they can to weaken and embarrass us, but so what? Are we going to sit on our reputations and go to our graves without having played a role? This is Roe v. Wade all over again. I am standing shoulder to shoulder with all who will stand up for God’s Word concerning marriage. We don’t know all of the steps that must be taken, but God will reveal His will. To the extent that I am able to influence anybody, I will do it with passion.

Mat Staver (Founder – Liberty Counsel)
I express my thanks to Rick Scarborough and Dr. Dobson. Their comments resonate with all of us. Let me address the seriousness and the basis for engaging with resistance to a Supreme Court decision that could go the wrong way. Once you elevate same-sex marriage to the level of protected status, whether on the federal or the state level, you begin to change and transform the face of society. In my view, it will result in the beginning of the end of Western Civilization.
When you make a government policy that says that this is a relationship between humans that is so critical, so fundamental, and so essential to our society and to our future that we are going to protect it by law and surround it with laws and benefits that are designed to protect that relationship as a policy matter, you are taking a big step. You are essentially saying that boys and girls don’t need moms and dads—that moms and dads are irrelevant.
Gender becomes pointless when government adopts same-sex marriage. It creates a genderless relationship out of a very gender specific relationship. It says that it doesn’t matter and that two moms or two dads are absolutely equivalent to a mom and a dad.
Immediately, when elevated to that level of a constitutionally protected category, it is given the same status as race. What you cannot legally do with respect to race, you will not be able to do legally with respect to same-sex unions and sexual immorality.
Think of race in the context of religious expression or conscience expression and replace it with sexual immorality, transsexualism or so-called gender identity. For example, churches and other religious organizations are exempt from the religious discrimination provisions of federal, state, or local nondiscrimination laws. But they are not exempted from the race provisions. So Catholics can hire Catholics, and Baptists can hire Baptists, but they cannot hire only “white” Catholics or only “white” Baptists. They would face significant penalties. You can’t have separate restrooms or drinking fountains for people of a different color. If a church did that, they would be liable for a significant amount of damages because of discrimination on the basis of race.
Same-sex marriage or laws including sexual orientation or gender identity as a non-discrimination category directly impact religious organizations and churches. If a man wants to use the women’s restroom and a church official told him he could not, then that act would be like telling people of color they cannot use the “white only” restroom. You will also have the same issues with tax exemption over sexual preference as you have now over race.
Already a Methodist church association in New Jersey lost its property tax exemption status because it refused to allow use of their facilities for a same-sex union. Although the church then obtained a religious exemption instead, it ceased all weddings on its boardwalk pavilion. Bob Jones University lost its tax exemption status because it refused to allow mixed-race dating. They have since abandoned that false doctrinal belief, but they still lost their tax exemption at the Supreme Court. It will not be long if same-sex marriage is adopted that other universities could lose tax exemptions if they maintain a policy based on natural marriage and biblical morality.
Anything that you can imagine on the basis of race discrimination will apply to this issue of sexual preference. There is a huge collision coming. Those examples will be intensified significantly.
Roe v. Wade was a time when the church should have said no, regardless of what seven Supreme Court justices said. The difference is Roe was a wrong decision that resulted in a loss of life, but people were not forced to participate. With this issue, people will be forced to participate and affirm it. It will affect licenses for counselors, attorney disciplines, and every licensing profession will be affected.
In the history of the Supreme Court, they have reversed themselves about 230 times, and other Supreme Court decisions have been overruled by new laws or Constitutional amendments. Two were especially bad decisions. There was the Dred Scott decision in 1857. The Supreme Court told Scott he was not entitled to full citizenship, because people believed that “blacks are inferior human beings.” That was contrary to the Constitution, natural law, and revealed law, but we still went along with it, and we ended up in a civil war.
Today no one would agree that was right. Why did we obey it then? In the case of Buck v. Bell a lady in Virginia was forcibly sterilized as part of the eugenics movement. This was promoted by Planned Parenthood because they wanted to get rid of the “undesirables,” which according to Planned Parenthood at the time included blacks, the infirmed, and those with low IQs.
They did this because there was a history of low IQ in her family. The Supreme Court said that there is no justice for her because “three generations of imbeciles” in her family was enough, so they upheld the decision. When the Nazis were put on trial at the Nuremburg trials, they cited the Buck v. Bell decision to justify their use of forced sterilization. To this day, that Supreme Court decision hasn’t been overturned, though no one would justify that decision today. It wasn’t right then, and it isn’t right now.
In 1992, Planned Parenthood v. Casey was argued in the Supreme Court. During that week they voted, and it was a 5-4 vote to overrule Roe v. Wade. For thirty days William Rehnquist was writing the opinion to overrule it. For those thirty days, O’Connor and Justice David Souter lobbied Justice Anthony Kennedy who was part of the majority to overrule it.
After thirty days, they broke through, and he wrote a note to a fellow justice Harry Blackmun who wrote the decision in 1973. Kennedy switched his vote, so the Opinion was taken away from Rehnquist and given to another justice. So Roe v. Wade was upheld, rather than overruled. O’Connor said in that Opinion that even if Roe v. Wade was decided wrongly, we have to uphold it because the power of the Court rests solely in the confidence of the people.
Unlike the executive branch, which enforces the law, or the legislative branch, which enacts the law, she said that the Supreme Court has no power to enforce our law: the only way our orders have enforcement is because the people voluntarily comply. The executive branch must uphold it. Upholding Roe v. Wade was necessary, she argued, to uphold the power of the Court and the confidence of the people that what they do is right. She said in her Opinion that upholding the decision of Roe v. Wade was a necessity to maintain the authority of the Court and the power of the institution.
Historically we know that Thomas Jefferson would not enforce the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 that President John Adams had signed. Jefferson wrote a letter to Abigail Adams saying, what gives you the idea that the judges have the final authority to be the arbiters of the law? If that were the case, we would have a despotic branch.
Lincoln advocated disobedience to Dred Scott, and Andrew Jackson advocated disobedience to the banking bill, so it’s not unprecedented that both executives and individuals have said some laws are just and some are unjust.
Martin Luther King’s argument in “Letter from Birmingham Jail” considered just and unjust laws. Just laws are laws in conformity to higher law we have a duty to obey. We also have a duty to disobey laws that are against higher law but be prepared for the consequences of the wrath of the civil authorities. We still cannot obey the unjust laws.
In 2004, same-sex marriage came to Massachusetts. Catholic charities refused to place orphans in same-sex homes, so they stopped doing adoptions. What they should have done, and now what we should do, is to say we are called on a mission and that is to place orphans in homes with moms and dads. We will not run from that calling, but we will also not violate our consciences and The Bible by placing them in a place that is sinful and immoral. If you disagree with it, bring your civil authority after us because we will not voluntarily cease with our calling.
The photographer out in New Mexico, the baker in Oregon, Washington florist Barronelle Stutzman—they are all facing the same thing. We either all stand together, or we hang separately. This is indeed a Bonhoeffer moment. They might be able to pick us off individually, but collectively they can’t. Whenever someone gets targeted, we must gather around them and say no.
In Alabama, the Supreme Court has made a decision to refuse to enforce same-sex marriage (read the decision at LC.org). When you read the decision, you don’t get the impression that the Alabama Supreme Court justices are waiting for the June decision to see what the U.S. Supreme Court decides. They are making their stand now that they will not go along with it, and their minds won’t be changed.
It’s one thing to say you will stand; it’s another to withstand the fines and the potential of loss of your entire livelihood (such as Barronelle Stutzman). We must collectively support and stand with them and say we will not cross that line. We need to let them know now where we stand. Tell them now that if they cross that line, they will become an illegitimate institution, that the Supreme Court will lose the respect of the American people and therefore lose its authority.

MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin
#82 - October 8, 2013
My warning about martial law coming to America has created many questions that deserve answers. I will address some of these here, as well as further clarifying what I am predicting, and what I am not predicting that some have assumed that I am. I will then address what is causing this crisis, and what we need to do to be prepared for it.

  • I am not advocating martial law.
  • However, it is inevitable. If we are prepared, we can get through it and come out of it better, stronger, and continue as a Republic. If we are not prepared, it can lead to a terrible tyranny.
  • I am not predicting martial law based on any conspiracy theory.
  • All of the revelations that have come out recently about the NSA, the IRS, etc. should be deeply troubling to every American, but they are not the basis of what I am predicting. Neither is the purchase of hundreds of millions of rounds of ammo by government agencies or their purchase of armored vehicles, though this too should be alarming to any thinking person, yet these are not the basis of what I’m saying. Neither is any other conspiracy theory.
  • I am not sounding this warning because I think martial law is something Obama is scheming to do.
  • I am troubled by the “control freak” nature of the Obama Administration as it was recently characterized in the New York Times. I disagree with the direction in which President Obama has led our country, but this is not why I see martial law coming.
  • I do not think that martial law is something our military leaders are scheming to do or want to see happen.
  • Martial law is the last thing most military leaders would want to see happen. Of course, the few who may not be appalled by this prospect would be the ones we should pray do not become the martial.
  • The Republican and Democratic Parties are equally culpable for what has led us to where martial law will be needed to help save the Republic.
  • The Founding Fathers were not infallible or necessarily right about everything, but they did have uncommon wisdom that I have become convinced was divinely inspired. They were right that our Republic could not last if certain basic firewalls were removed. They placed these firewalls in the Constitution to preserve it. Republicans and Democratic Administrations have both been responsible for tearing down these firewalls, and now the consequences are as predicted.
  • Tyranny can come from the left or the right.
  • We should be equally concerned about extremes from either side. As devastating as the sharp turn to the left may have been in recent years, and as much as we may need to turn back to the right for a time, an ultimate danger can come from overreacting and going too far to the right. More will be said about this later.
  • To navigate safely through the storms we are entering will take the wisest and most decisive leadership we have ever had. When martial law comes, who the martial is will be critical. We need to pray for someone who is like George Washington—deeply committed to the Republic yet who does not want the job any longer than is necessary to get us back on a solid foundation. We need one who is not an ideologue from either extreme.
  • Martial law does not have to be the end of our story. It can be  just a temporary emergency that we must go through to get back on track.
    • Our Federal government is off its rails and quickly grinding to a halt. What caused it to jump the rails needs to be understood before it is put back on the rails and released again.

What causes the conditions that would require martial law to get us back on track?
This is the main question we need to ask because understanding this will also help us prepare for what will get us through what is coming. It will enable us to restore our Republic. I can only answer this superficially in a Bulletin, but will follow up with more depth in future Prophetic Perspectives which will be available to you free of charge atwww.morningstartv.com if you do not receive these programs through your network or cable provider.
  • The main cause of the crisis that leads to martial law will be a currency collapse and a banking system failure.
  • This will lead to a period of near anarchy and chaos that forces our military to intervene to stop the meltdown.
  • Many countries have gone through currency failures before and have survived. Many have come out of this crisis stronger and better than ever. We can too. Regardless of how bad it may get for a time, never give up hope. We will get through this.

Reason for the Collapse of the Dollar:
Without anything backing a currency but faith in the government that issues it, the currency is only worth what the people’s trust in it says it’s worth. Trust in the dollar is sinking fast, even though it appears to be strong. Its value is now being sustained more by there not being another, more stable, currency that can displace it as the world’s reserve currency. Even so, its standing is now so tenuous that any little thing could cause its collapse or be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. We are now in such a state that every day this does not happen is another miracle.
The IMF (International Monetary Fund) did a widely publicized study on America’s debt and concluded that our real debt is over 100 trillion. The $16 plus trillion our government is now reporting as our debt is calculated by using a cash basis accounting method that would get us sent to jail if we tried to use it. This figure only reports how much we have borrowed and does not consider future obligations such as entitlements.
The IMF study concluded that if Americans were taxed at the rate of 100%, we still could not ever pay our obligations. This alone could ultimately bring down our currency, but it is just one of many deadly factors that could be equally devastating. Something has to give. We have dug a hole that we cannot get out of. It will ultimately result in the collapse of the dollar. That will be an emergency like we have not faced before, but we can get through it. It does not have to be the end of our Republic or our freedoms, but it will take martial law for a time to get the country stabilized and restored to our constitutional moorings.
In the best of circumstances, martial law is dangerous. We must understand these dangers and prepare, so that this is not the beginning of a dictatorship and a totalitarian police state. More will be covered about how we can do this in futureBulletins and Prophetic Perspectives programs.

The Erosion Continues
Marc Nuttle may be the single person who is the most knowledgeable of the world economic situation. His predictions in his 2007 book, Moment of Truth, have proven accurate. He amazingly forecast the beginning of QE3 as July of 2012, which was accurate to the week. He also said that it would be like cocaine to our economic system—a habit that we could not break. QE3 (Quantitative Easing—pumping more money into the system) is now pumping over $80 billion a month into the system by just “printing money” (it is not literally printed, but entered on computer ledgers). This may be temporarily propping up our deeply wounded economy, but it is accelerating the judgment day when the world wakes up to how worthless the dollar is.
As far as Marc’s prediction of our addiction to QE, when it is hinted that the Fed may just cut back on QE, the markets begin tumbling. The people who know what is happening in the economy know how artificially it is being kept on life support with this, and if we pull this plug, the collapse will happen fast. So how are we going to get out of this? As entangled and confused as the mess has become, we can get out of it, but first we must be ready for what will surely come.

A Dress Rehearsal
What happened in the 1930’s was a dress rehearsal for what we are facing now. Not all of the factors are the same, and not all of the causes of our present problems are exactly like what led to the world crisis in the 1930’s. However, the conditions that we have been brought to now are a remarkable parallel to them. It has been proven to be a true proverb that “those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.”  If we take a little time to study that history, we can avoid repeating the worst of it.
In the 1930’s Germany faced a similar situation trying to pay back war reparations imposed on it by the Allies in the Armistice after World War I. These reparations exceeded their GDP and were not possible for Germany to pay. So they allowed inflation to automatically devalue their currency so they could pay back the reparations in increasingly worthless currency. The inflation got out of control so that the German mark did not just become worth-less, but became worth-nothing. This led to near anarchy and chaos that opened the door for the worst and most destructive evil the world has ever faced. This can happen again, and with the technology and destructive power available, it can happen on an unprecedented level if we are not prepared and proactive in stopping it.
When the dollar begins to collapse, it will happen fast. It is in such a tenuous place that it could go from where it is now to virtually worth nothing in a week. I am not saying it will be that fast, but it will be quick, and it will be so quick that it will lead to chaos. Many will try to fill that vacuum.
In Germany in the 1930’s, an overreaction to the leftist and communists who were trying to seize power in the crisis caused her to swing to the far right and embrace the Nazi fascists. This too is a very real danger for America. Tyranny can come from the extreme left or the extreme right. The most vocal, activist, and, in many cases, organized forces in America are found in the extremes on either side. Either extreme can lead to tyranny.
The path of life has a ditch on either side. An overreaction to a ditch on one side can cause us to fall into the ditch on the other. Under extreme situations, like we are going to be facing with the collapse of our currency, the extremes on either side are going to become much more dangerous. It will take almost unprecedented wise and decisive leadership to navigate us through this time.

What Can We Do?
Prayer is not our last resort, but should be our first resort. Psalm 32:6 exhorts: Let everyone that is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found, for surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.” We could interpret this as “don’t wait until the crisis to pray because it will be too late then.” We must begin to seek the Lord now for both personal and national guidance. Then, as the next verse of this Psalm declares, “You are my hiding place; You will preserve me from trouble” (see Psalm 32:7).
Ultimately, every human problem is the result of mankind thinking we can run this world without God. Ultimately, the answer to every human problem is turning back to God. He does not just have the answers—He is the answer. For most of our history, America was a land that loved God and sought Him probably more than any other nation on the earth. It is when we began turning away from Him that the gates of hell were opened into our nation. This will be our ultimate demise if we do not turn back to Him.
In Revelation 3:20 we see in this most remarkable of all Scriptures that Jesus will stand outside the doors of His own church and will not enter unless someone opens for Him. In this age, He will not go anywhere that He is not wanted. When America basically said that we do not want Him anymore and will even remove the mention of Him from our history and our public places, He left. We have now been left to our own devices, and we are about to find out how foolish this was.
There were many Christians who did not want this, but they did not do anything about it. As God has been removed from our culture, there has hardly been even a protest. Where was the salt? Where were those who are called to be His light? His grace, His favor, and His blessings have been leaving America too. He will only return if we open the door for Him.
Just temporarily fixing the monetary crisis will not stop our demise. Perils are coming at us from many other directions. We are a nation that was dedicated to the Lord, and we cannot get away with what other countries may get away with. If we do not return to the Lord, we will soon cease to exist as the Republic that once gave hope to the whole world.
It was not American ingenuity or exceptionalism that prospered America—it was God’s favor. Ingenuity and the true definition of American exceptionalism have their place and should be recognized and honored, but even those were the result of God’s grace. We have been blessed as we did the things that are promised in Scripture that will bring God’s blessing to a nation that seeks Him. Only God’s favor can save us now.
One of the greatest blessings of God on nations that He blesses is wise leadership. We are commanded to pray for our leaders, and this is one of the most important prayers we can pray at this time. We are not told to pray for the great leaders, or even the good ones, or ones we agree with, but the ones we have. We can also pray for those who are being raised up or who would end up with authority in the coming crisis. We should also pray for them to be given Josephs and Daniels—prophets from God with the wisdom to help them navigate through what is coming.
Psalm 32 continues with an important exhortation in verses 8 & 9: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you will go. I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Do not be as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding, whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check, otherwise they will not come near you.”
After turning to God, we must be instructed by Him. Then we must willingly, not forcibly like with a bit and bridle, choose to obey Him.
Between one third and one half of the teachings in Scripture on righteousness have to do with stewardship. If we had obeyed His simple principles of stewardship, we would not have any of the problems we are now facing. These basic principles are the only compass that will get us through the storms and treacherous seas in which we now find ourselves.
In Romans 14:17 we are told that the kingdom of God is “righteousness, peace and joy.” The only way that we will have peace and joy is by doing what is right in the sight of the Lord. The further we have departed from doing what is right in His sight, the less peace and joy we have had. Just turning back to the Lord by resolving that we will obey Him and seek to walk in His ways, we will start to know peace and joy again.
There are other practical things that we can and must do in order to navigate through what is coming. We will address those, but they will be useless if we do not turn in our hearts back to the Lord.
