"I live in the heart of Gaza, but I'm starting to believe in Yeshua" - ONE FOR ISRAEL

July 17, 2017

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

We are experiencing severe heat here in the Middle East, and while we have air conditioning and refrigeration whenever we need it, there are almost two million people suffering in the same heat in Gaza, with only three hours of electricity per day. Hamas is not paying the bills and the Palestinian Authority is refusing to help them out any longer, but the result is that many innocent people are suffering unbearable conditions.

However, in this horrific situation, God is at work among a people who are desperately seeking hope and answers. The gospel is penetrating deep into the darkness, and people are responding to the offer of new life in Yeshua.

Here is a letter we recently received from someone in Gaza:

Greetings, It's been my honor to get to know you my brother!

I have a personal request... that you would teach me more about Yeshua the Messiah.

I started to read the New Testament, and every day I set aside time to read it!

I found peace in my heart, love and forgiveness in it! I am drawn to the Messiah and I'm starting to love him.

I live within a very dark and messed up culture.

If by some accident the organization [Hamas] discovers that I believe in the Messiah, or even if they suspect that I do, they will take me out and also kill my family because of me.

I live in the heart of Gaza, and I'm trying to get out of here, even by sea... so that I can learn more and more and walk with the Messiah, and make sure that I believe and belong to him! But I won't be able to get out.

Despite this I feel that the Messiah is my savior and he himself has given me patience for his sake.
Your blessed page has helped me to find strength... please Carlos my brother, help me to get out of this crazy hell here!

Please do pray for this man and the many thousands of others who are living in such desperate conditions. Pray for resolution to this crisis, for freedom for the people in Gaza, and especially for the Gospel to spread like wildfire - that many thousands would be saved eternally.

"Some sat in darkness and deep gloom,
prisoners in misery and iron chains,
for they had defied God's words,
and spurned the counsel of the Most High.
So He humbled their heart with trouble.
They stumbled, and no one was helping.
So they cried out to Adonai in their distress,
and He delivered them out of their troubles.
He brought them out of darkness
and deep gloom, breaking their chains.
Let them praise Adonai for His mercy,
and His wonders for the children of men,
for He shattered bronze gates,
and broke into pieces iron bars."
(Psalm 107:10-16)

BETWEEN THE STRAITS: DEALING WITH DAYS OF DISTRESS

The three weeks between the dates of 17th Tammuz and 9th of Av in the Jewish calendar (11th July-1st Augustthis year) are known as the time "בין המצרים" which means "between the straits" or in "dire straits". The phrase "between the straits" means to be forced to thread your way between grave dangers on both sides - like a ship trying to squeeze through a perilously narrow path and trying to avoid the almost inevitable shipwreck. What hope does God's word offer in perilous times? Continue reading...

ARAB AND JEW FIND YESHUA TOGETHER

Here's an amazing story of how an Arab man and his Jewish boss were led to faith in Yeshua together by an Arab Israeli believer... in Texas! It's a pretty crazy story - buckle up!

About a year ago, Erez and Eitan had a successful trip to Texas, and returned to Israel, thinking that was the end of that. Continue reading...

Palestinian Authority Thanks Terrorists For Murdering 22 Jewish Kids - Israel Today

Palestinian Authority Thanks Terrorists For Murdering 22 Jewish Kids

Monday, July 10, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
n the video (watch below), an announcer on official state-run Palestinian Authority TV is heard openly praising the actions of the terrorists who perpetrated the Ma'alot massacre in 1974.
Ma'alot is situated in northern Israel, far from the "disputed territories." The attack was a demonstration that Palestinian groups ultimately intend to "liberate" all of the Holy Land from Jewish rule.
In this particular attack, jihadists with the Democratic Front for the jihadists with the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) infiltrated an elementary school in the Galilee town of Ma'alot and took the entire student body and faculty as hostages.
When Israeli commandoes attempted to storm the facility, the terrorists massacred 22 Israeli children and four teachers.
The Palestinian Authority continues to see this as a "heroic" military operation, rather than the brutal act of senseless murder that it is.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog - President Trump: Tell Mahmoud Abbas the Palestinian Authority must stop paying the families of terrorists.

President Trump: Tell Mahmoud Abbas the Palestinian Authority must stop paying the families of terrorists.

by joelcrosenberg
(Jerusalem, Israel) -- Today, President Trump will meet with Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and his top advisors at the White House.
Good. The Palestinian people continue to struggle with immense poverty, unemployment, corruption, and a culture of terrorism and radicalism. They need friends in government, the church and the private sector who will show them honor and compassion. They also need friends who will "speak the truth in love." (Ephesians 4:15)
Today's gathering is the latest in a series of meetings Mr. Trump is having with the leaders of Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries. I applaud him for building these relationships and strengthening vital alliances.
In this context, it is critical that Mr. Trump uses today's meeting to tell Mr. Abbas in no uncertain terms that the PA must stop paying the families of Palestinian terrorists who injure and kill Americans and Israelis.
Indeed, Mr. Trump should tell Mr. Abbas that Congress will pass -- and he will sign -- the "Taylor Force Act," legislation that specifically forbids the PA from rewarding Palestinian terrorists, and prevents the U.S. from providing foreign aid to the PA if they continue funding terrorism.
report by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, an Israel-based research center run by former Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Dore Gold, found that "overall, the PA pays about 1.152 billion shekels ($303 million) in the 2016 budget as terror-related salaries and allowances. This equals about seven percent of the overall budget."
"The PA payment of salaries to the imprisoned terrorists and to the families of the dead terrorists is anchored in a series of Palestinian laws and government decrees, chiefly Laws No. 14 and No. 19 of 2004, and Law No. 1 of 2013," noted the report.
It is impossible to move forward with any kind of peace process if the Palestinian government is paying more than $300 million a year to reward families of terrorists. The Israeli government has called for an immediate repeal of this PA law and practice. The U.S. and other Arab governments should do so, as well, in order to truly move the prospects for real and lasting peace forward.
“I think the first test of peace is to say to them, ‘Hey, you want peace? Prove it. Confront terrorism, stop rewarding terrorism, stop paying it terrorists,’” Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu recently said during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News.
Unfortunately, a senior PA cabinet minister says the PA will continue to pay incarcerated terrorists.
"Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas 'outright rejects' Israeli demands to halt payments to prisoners held by Israel, Palestinian Authority Prisoner Affairs Minister Issa Qaraqe said Saturday," reported the Times of Israel.
This is unacceptable. The Palestinian people have it hard enough. They need better leadership than this. The Palestinian government should be nurturing an environment to create jobs and economic growth, not terrorism.
Let us pray -- and press -- for real change. Starting now.

Obama's Parting Gift to the Palestinians - $221 Million - Israel Today

Obama's Parting Gift to the Palestinians - $221 Million

Tuesday, January 24, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
He couldn’t in the end help them declare statehood, but former US President Barack Obama did have a substantial parting gift for the Palestinian Arabs.
Just hours before he turned the White House over to President Donald Trump, Obama issued an executive order releasing $221 million in US taxpayer funds to the Palestinian Authority.
The money had been set aside as part of an earlier budgetary bill that included funding to the Palestinian Authority via USAID.
But congressional Republicans had blocked the transfer after the Palestinian leadership sought state-level recognition from various international bodies in violation of signed agreements with Israel.
GOP lawmakers argued that the Palestinian Authority was creating obstacles to peace, and that the US government, which had brokered the aforementioned agreements, must hold the Palestinians accountable.
But Palestinian Authority peace violations were never of much concern to Obama.
His parting gift to the Palestinians was seen as a final act of official support for their campaign against Israel, as well as a repudiation of President Donald Trump’s stated Middle East peace policies.
