Get Us Out of Here? The Rapture? Says Who? – Steve Martin, Love For His People Ministry

Get Us Out of Here? The Rapture? Says Who? – Steve Martin, Love For His People Ministry

Oct. 1, 2022 Charlotte, North Carolina USA

Greetings to my family and friends of Love For His People Ministry.

When I posted a Scripture on Facebook this week and made a comment that made people question something that they had believed, or not, I was surprised at the reaction. Far more than normal.

A friend of mine in California, Rob Overall, had also sent me some interesting, related words on the subject previously, to which I basically replied saying, “I have other things to consider now. Primarily Israel.”

But yet I kept thinking and started looking further into it, so I would have a good basis to write from.

And thus I wrote, Get Us Out of Here? The Rapture? Says Who?

Curious? Then you are welcome to read it. Below.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin, Founder, Love For His People Ministry

P.S. Please pray for our good friends for over 35 years, Edgar and Indira Persad, of Charlotte, North Carolina, along with their family (Nadira & Alan, Shamila and Joel, Robbie and his). Edgar has been in the hospital for 10 days now with a tumor in his brain. He is scheduled for surgery again Monday, Oct. 3.

P.S. S. Laurie and I celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary on October 8, 2022. Yeah, Lord!

Get Us Out of Here? The Rapture? Says Who?

“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”Psalm 31:24, NKJV

Most likely every time there is a flare-up in nation against nation, hurricanes destroying everything in their paths, and evil arising without much opposition in government seats, many Christians are responding with the words, “The rapture is near. We are getting out of here.” They are looking for the escape route upward, and saying inwardly and outwardly, that we won’t be around for it all.

Is that you? Where did this concept originate? Is it true? Please read on, if you have a few minutes.

We all know the Scripture quoted far too often telling us of when “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound…” 1 Corinthians 15:22, NASU And the other most quoted as much is Matthew 24:29-31: “But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

“And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.”

If anyone considers themselves a student of the Bible, then they know that just one or two Scriptures cannot be used to build a solid biblical foundation. Theology uses the whole Bible on which to establish the truth. Not just one or two verses.

And yet…the “rapture” theology is just that. Built and proclaimed as the grand escape of believers from the earth before the God of heaven destroys most of it, along with much of mankind. It has been a much debated and actually troubling concept for many people, for years.

And so, I began a study of the origins. If you have any desire to know the truth, then keep reading.

Knowing already the very few verses, and even portions of verses so much put forth as the Gospel truth, I decided to check out what other sources said, which historically can give us a further framework from which to establish how it really came into Christian thinking. I was very much surprised.

It was not taught by the early church, nor the church of the first century. Neither did the Reformers teach it. Not until a few Roman Catholic theologians around 1830 do we find the beginning origins. The pre-tribulation idea wasn’t even subject matter until it come forth in the early or mid-1800s.

One such video, after having used the new FreeSpoke search engine (highly recommended by me!), forgoing the absolute restrictive Google, is “Origins of the Pretribulation Rapture”. There are many more that I could recommend for you, but do some research further on your own, should you be wise as the early believers did.

One scheme of prophetic interpretation came from a Roman Catholic Jesuit priest in 1830, to counter prophecy against Rome. Futurism took root. Using the pen name “Rabbi Ben Ezra” (a supposedly learned Jew who had accepted Christ), was born Emanual Lacunza in Chile and who later lived in Italy as a Catholic Jesuit, wrote in Italian a book in 1791 entitled “The Coming of Messiah in Glory and Majesty”, later published in 1812. He used the “Jewish” name to have his book accepted among the unsuspecting Protestants, who would not accept anything from a Catholic Jesuit.

Edward Irving, born in Scotland in 1792, discovered Lacunza’s book, translated it into English, and published it in London in 1827. He then held Bible conferences throughout the churches in Scotland, emphasizing “the coming of Jesus to rapture His Church.”

Following this came John Nelson Darby, the proponent of futurism and prophetic teaching called dispensationalism.

The secret rapture teaching was then introduced between the years of 1840-1870 in the USA and Canada.

Then C.I. Scofield further expanded the promotion of Darby’s writings. Thus, the Scofield Bible’s inclusion of this “doctrine” into extensive evangelism. Through this Bible study version, many famous Baptist teachers and pastors carried on the teachings. Men such as D.L. Moody, Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Adrian Rogers, and others, along with Assembly of God preachers (AOG) in the Pentecostal movement, one of the largest denominations in the world, taught the concept as biblical truth. The AOG, in 1914, got their Sunday School and study materials from Moody Press. So, the belief was widely spread further.

Deception?

I am not one to try to persuade anyone to believe something they feel is biblical. There is enough of that, and it is not my desire to further drive wedges between believers. But I do encourage you to consider that what you have been taught, what you know as “truth”, may not be all that you hope for and rely on in your Christian walk of faith.

Consider what Yeshua (Jesus) said Himself when He spoke these words. “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 “At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11 “Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. 12 “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. 13 ” But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. 14 “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:9-14, NASU

He makes no mention of believers being snatched out beforehand, as in a pre-tribulation or mid-trib moment, as if He came back halfway to get us, and then returns a 3rd time when in Revelation it is written for all times, as follows.

Revelation 19:11-16 (NKJV): “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS”

My main hope and prayer, should you have read this message thus far, is to make you think that possibly what has been so widely and strongly taught, including in the most popular novels of the Left Behind series, written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, beginning in 1995, may not be biblical. And I would want you to be best prepared as possible for going through the tribulation, in His grace and power, ready to proclaim and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, Who saves, delivers, and transforms any and all who will believe, even in the midst of death, disasters, and so many evil forces, both human and spiritual, that are destroying His planet and peoples, even now in an ever-increasing darkness.

These activities we know have come and are intensifying in these end times. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus! Bo Yeshua!

The Rapture, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton And 50 Other Excuses People Use For Not Prepping - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse - Public Domain

Posted: 28 Jan 2016   Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

Have you ever come away discouraged after trying to talk about prepping with friends or family members that just don’t seem to be interested?  Over the years, I have heard countless excuses from people for why they aren’t getting prepared for what is about to happen to America.  Some of the excuses, like a lack of money, are definitely legitimate.  But in many other instances, the objections don’t seem to make a lot of sense.

In America today, most people let others do most of their thinking for them.  And in general, our political, religious and cultural leaders are telling Americans that there really is no reason to be overly concerned about the future.  They assure us that they have everything under control, and that life is only going to get better in the years ahead.

Bad beliefs lead to bad decisions which in turn lead to bad actions, and most Americans have chosen to believe what the elite are telling them at this point.  As a result, only a small fraction of society is getting physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared for the exceedingly hard times that are rapidly approaching.  The following are 53 common excuses that people like to use for not prepping…

1. “Obama fixed everything that was wrong with America”
2. “When Hillary Clinton is elected she will put this nation back on the right track”
3. “Donald Trump will make America great again”
4. “I don’t have to prepare because the rapture is going to happen before anything really bad happens to this country”
5. “Everybody told me that the world was going to end in September and that didn’t happen”
6. “I don’t have enough money to buy emergency food and supplies”
7. “I’m too exhausted after working hard all day to do anything else”
8. “There is never enough time, and I would rather spend my precious free time doing something else”
9. “The U.S. economy is the greatest economy in the history of the world – there is no way that it could ever possibly collapse”
10. “Whenever we have had a major economic downturn in the past we have always recovered”
11. “Things are never going to get THAT bad”
12. “When things fall apart the federal government will take care of us”
13. “I am going to spend my extra money on fun rather than on fear”
14. “While you guys are sitting on stockpiles of expired food, I will be counting all of the money that I made in the stock market”
15. “When disaster strikes I will simply steal food from everyone else that has been prepping”
16. “The people at the Federal Reserve are very highly educated and they know precisely what they are doing”
17. “Wal-Mart will always be there when I need it”
18. “I’m too lazy to get prepared”
19. “Preppers don’t have a positive mental attitude”
20. “It is anti-faith to get prepared for an economic collapse”
21. “If the economy does collapse, I will just go on welfare”
22. “Nobody can get prepared for every possible scenario, so why bother?”
23. “I would rather save money for retirement”
24. “Obama told me that anyone that says the economy is heading for hard times is just peddling fiction”
25. “The stock market always rebounds to new highs after every crash, so why worry?”
26. “I don’t have room to store anything at my place”
27. “Prepping is something that crazy people do”
28. “I’m not a conspiracy theorist”
29. “I am afraid that all of the food that I store is going to go bad”
30. “All of the people that got freaked out about Y2K look really foolish right about now, don’t they?”
31. “Instead of being ultra-paranoid, I would rather just enjoy my life”
32. “If things get really bad, the people in my community will just band together to take care of everyone”
33. “If society did completely collapse, I would not want to go on living anyway”
34. “I’m too lazy to learn how to grow a garden”
35. “If you assume that the worst is eventually going to happen, then you don’t really believe in America”
36. “If something happens I will just run out to the store and grab what I need”
37. “If all of my debts are wiped out during an economic collapse I might as well live it up now”
38. “When things hit the fan I will just go live with my relatives that have been prepping”
39. “My spouse does not believe that prepping is a good idea”
40. “Prepping seems so complicated and I don’t know where to start”
41. “I don’t have to worry about preparing for a major disaster because that is what FEMA is for”
42. “There is no way that the supermarkets could ever possibly run out of food”
43. “Once I get my student loans and credit card debt paid off then maybe I will start thinking about prepping”
44. “My relatives are already convinced that I am a nutjob – I don’t need to make it worse by stockpiling buckets of food in my garage”
45. “What would the people at work think?”
46. “If there really was a reason to get prepared they would have told us about it on the news”
47. “People have been predicting doom and gloom for years, and yet nothing has happened”
48. “If I do prepare, angry mobs will just come and steal it all at some point anyway”
49. “Look at how fast technology is advancing – there is no way that things could completely fall apart now that humanity has so much advanced knowledge”
50. “We live in the greatest country on the entire planet during the greatest time for humanity in the history of the world”
51. “I have no intention of becoming a card carrying member of the Tin Foil Hat Brigade”
52. “If we are all going to die anyway, what is the point of prepping?”
53. “There is always more time – if I don’t get prepared today I can always get prepared tomorrow

If you would like to learn more about how you can get prepared for what is immediately ahead of us, you may want to check out an article that I recently did entitled “70 Tips That Will Help You Survive What Is Going To Happen To America“.  It contains quite a few little “nuggets” that many people don’t commonly think about when it comes to prepping.

Personally, I think that it would be very nice if normal life were to just continue indefinitely in America.  That way I could just sit up on my mountain and enjoy a nice quiet life with my family.

But the truth is that we are moving into the greatest time of chaos that any of us have ever experienced, and those of us that have been preparing are going to need to step forward as leaders.  It is during times of great darkness that light is needed the most, and during the hard years ahead there is going to be a crying need for people that have great strength, great courage and great love.

So do you have any excuses that you have heard that you think would make good additions to this list?  Please feel free to share them with the rest of us by leaving a comment below…

The Rapture - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

The Rapture
Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“Now, brothers, we want you to know the truth about those who have died; otherwise, you might become sad the way other people do who have nothing to hope for. For since we believe that Yeshua died and rose again, we also believe that in the same way God, through Yeshua, will take with him those who have died. When we say this, we base it on the Lord’s own word: we who remain alive when the Lord comes will certainly not take precedence over those who have died.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry, with a call from one of the ruling angels, and with God’s shofar; those who died united with the Messiah will be the first to rise; then we who are left still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord. So encourage each other with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Complete Jewish Bible)

Being caught up along with many to meet our Lord in the air will happen. Christians know it as the rapture, though that word is not found in the Bible. Scripture does declare, plain and simple, that the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) will come back, at the sound of the shofar (trumpet) to have His own meet Him in the air. We are to encourage one another with these hopeful and sound words, as the Apostle Paul states in his message to the Thessalonians. Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit to do so, as they had become fearful of being left behind. Thus we can count on it happening. But when on the prophetic timeline will it happen? That has become a big question.

In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul writes to the believers at Corinth this message, that also sheds more light on this glorious event. “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed — in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

"O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?"

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:50-58 NKJV)

The question remains then about the timing. For it is not IF the rapture happens, of being caught up, but WHEN will it happen? When will it come, and the Lord's glorious return?

This has been a hot topic in the Church for the last two centuries, as theologians began connecting it to the Tribulation time period, those seven years when the Lord’s wrath is to be righteously poured out upon the evil people of earth. But is it to be connected to the Tribulation? The early church fathers didn’t necessarily put the two together, though Paul says it will occur at the last trumpet. The apostle John speaks of the trumpets, once you get to Revelation Chapter 11. So, there remains some uncertainty even amongst the brethren.

I have heard the arguments for a pre-Trib, a mid-Trib, a post-Trib, and now even a partial-Trib. Whichever stance you take, it does determine now how you are living your life. To me, that is what should be our main concern - not just the timing of this coming supernatural event.

Those who are believing that there will be a “pre-Trib rapture” tend to watch current news, declare that the nations are going to hell; that they deserve any and all judgments coming upon them, so bring it on. They themselves believe that they will be taken out of here prior to these disastrous events, and thus will avoid all that. So they sit back and do nothing. Carry on with life as is.

What does that position and attitude say then about the Lord’s commandment to occupy where we live, while also taking the Gospel to our nation and the other nations? What about being actively involved in His kingdom’s business? In my spiritual world, that “pre-trib” position doesn’t line up with the Lord’s heart revealed in a vast majority of Scripture.

If another position is taken, (of when the rapture’s moment in time comes) it does affect how you view people’s lives, and whether you will take an offensive or defensive posture in your daily faith walk. I find that those who understand what the Lord’s beating heart is, to save as many as possible, do act with mission and purpose, preparing themselves and others to be “rescue boats”, rather than just putting on the life vest and waiting to jump (up, in this case.)

For me, I’d rather have my spirit, soul and body prepared for the more likely plan - of the Lord’s purpose to have a Holy Spirit empowered Body of Christ on the earth, during these current tribulations that many even now are already going through, and also being on board to serve in Holy Spirit fired love during the great Tribulation. I can wrap my brain around that one, and live my life in such a way that I am pushing forward, and not sitting around.

What you believe now will determine how you act now, and in the days to come. I would encourage you to act in faith at all times, anticipating that we will be here as the Lord’s light, shining through our hands and feet during the darkest times. We will be actively participating in  His assigned work that will be given to each of us.

And, if we are martyred along the way, which I fully expect to happen in my life, we will instantly be with Him in heaven. It’s a win, win situation.

This is our glorious hope - having His love in our lives, which has saved us for eternity with Him, and sharing that love, along with all fellow believers, on earth as it is in heaven.

RISE UP O men and women of the Almighty, Living God of Israel! He is coming back, as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, for a prepared and alive Bride -  not for some cowardly, unbelieving  christians cowering in a corner, getting ready to abandon ship!

Maranatha Lord Jesus! Come on!
