Terrorists Strike, Anti-Semitism Spikes in US as Israel Remembers Holocaust

Standing With Israel
At the opening ceremony of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) at Jerusalem's Yad VaShem Holocaust Museum Sunday evening, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin began by telling how Jews in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp celebrated the first night of Hanukkah in 1943.
The rabbi lit a candle, he said, and led the prisoners in the traditional holiday prayer.
"Blessed are you, Lord our God, who has given us life and sustained us and allowed us to reach this season," he prayed, thanking God from inside the death camp.
Rivlin then said, "I stand here on this evening of awe, in the rebuilt Jerusalem, the capital city of the State of Israel, and in the name of our valiant brothers and sisters, victims of the Shoah, and the survivors, who struggled for survival, for their Jewishness, and for their humanity ... am Yisrael chai" [the people of Israel live]!
And that was evident on Monday when the two-minute memorial siren sounded throughout Israel. People on the street bowed their heads, while people driving stopped their cars and stood next to them.
Hours before Sunday evening's ceremony, a Palestinian teen stabbed four people near the Tel Aviv promenade. Police arrested the attacker and took him in for questioning. All four are recovering from their wounds.
Again Monday, a woman from Duma, an Arab village near Nablus, stabbed a female soldier at the Kalandiya checkpoint. Paramedics evacuated the soldier to the hospital in moderate condition. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) named the attacker as Asya Kabaneh, 41, from an Arab village near Nablus.
A mother of nine, the woman told investigators "she has been engaged in a lengthy conflict with her husband, who has threatened to divorce her." Following a quarrel Sunday evening over their children's education, she decided to commit a terror attack so security forces would shoot her, telling investigators she was "fed up" with her life.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) says the first quarter of 2017 showed a whopping 86 percent increase in anti-Semitic incidents—harassment, bomb threats and vandalism—in the U.S., up from a 34 percent increase in 2016.
The ADL published the data in its annual audit of anti-Semitic incidents.
"There's been a significant, sustained increase in anti-Semitic activity since the start of 2016, and what's most concerning is the fact that the numbers have accelerated over the past five months," ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement.
According to the report, California, New York, New Jersey, Florida and Massachusetts, areas with a large Jewish population, had the highest number of incidents.
In other words, 72 years after six million Jews perished at the hands of Hitler's regime, anti-Semitism in the United States is rising at unprecedented rates.

Michael Youssef Warns of Impending Terrorism in the US: The Barbarians Are Here

PETER WOODING/ASSIST NEWS  CHARISMA NEWS
Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

While the debate continues over recent US immigration policy, Dr. Michael Youssef's latest book, The Barbarians Are Here, highlights the urgency for Christians to respond to the current crisis of radical Islamic terrorist attacks in the West.
"For decades, Westerners were vaguely aware that Islamist barbarians were in the deserts of the Middle East, executing infidels and raiding villages with unrecognizable names. Then came the terrorist attacks of 9/11, followed by attacks at the Boston Marathon, San Bernardino and more. Now terrorists seem to be emerging everywhere, unleashing senseless death and destruction on our nation. They are here, and their goal is nothing less than global conquest," said Dr. Youssef. "There is hope to overcome the threat Islam poses to the free world—but we must act now before it is too late."
He added: "This book is not an assault on Muslim people. I love Muslims and have all my life. This is why, with God's help, I founded a ministry which is now actively proclaiming the gospel, discipling the lost and helping the persecuted throughout the Muslim world. However, I am not afraid to call Islamic terrorists what they are."
Of the more than 40 books he has written, Dr. Youssef believes that The Barbarians Are Here is the most important book he has ever written: "This book is the culmination of my 42 years in the ordained ministry. It is the apex of my passion to reach the lost for Christ and proclaim the gospel of the truth of Jesus Christ. I say this not out of pride or because of something that I have done, but because its message is a burden that God has placed on my heart."
Even before its official March 7 release, the book has already seen an overwhelming response, with hundreds of thousands tuning in to a TV special and ordering the book, already making it a top seller in its genre.
Lieutenant Colonel Allen B. West, Executive Director at the National Center for Policy Analysis, has commended the book for its bold insights, saying: "The world has witnessed a policy of delusion, appeasement and denial when it comes to engaging the global Islamic jihad movement. Dr. Michael Youssef sounds the clarion call on this clear and present danger, providing a critical exegesis of what we must do."
R. Albert Mohler, Jr, President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has also provided a strong endorsement of The Barbarians Are Here, and said: "This book is an illuminating discussion of the times and of the challenges Islam poses to the advance of the gospel. Let this book shape how you think, pray and take the gospel to the ends of the earth."
Dr. Youssef concluded: "We are not doomed to destruction, even though the barbarians are already here. But we haven't a moment to lose. I want to urge you with every ounce of my being—read this book."

US to Begin Enforcing Labeling of West Bank Products By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

US to Begin Enforcing Labeling of West Bank Products

“Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity than he that is perverse in his lips and a fool at the same time.” (Proverbs 19:1)
After months of heated debate over the European Union (EU) labeling products made in Judea and Samaria, the US is now quietly doing the same, but without the fuss or discussion.
The US Customs Department released a statement last Saturday reminding importers of a regulation from 1995 that goods produced in the West Bank must be labeled as such, and not labeled “Made in Israel”.
“Goods produced in the West Bank or Gaza Strip shall be marked as originating from ‘West Bank,’ ‘Gaza,’ ‘Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank and Gaza,’ or ‘West Bank and Gaza Strip’. It is not acceptable to mark the aforementioned goods with the words ‘Israel,’ ‘Made in Israel,’ ‘Occupied Territories-Israel,’ or any variation thereof. Goods that are erroneously marked as products of Israel will be subject to an enforcement action carried out by US Customs and Border Protection,” the memo read.
State Department spokesman Mark Toner was asked at a press conference if this was intended as a rebuke to Israel for recent settlement expansion.
He responded that it was “simply a restatement of previous requirements” and does not “impose additional requirements”. He stressed that it was in no way a boycott.
It was pointed out that the policy had not been enforced in 20 years.
Toner claimed the decision to enforce it now came as a result of recent complaints, but he declined to specify where the complaints originated.
Toner was then asked if this was a move towards a universally stricter adherence to customs regulations and labeling, for example in the case of “Transnistrian products going to the US [labeled] as made in Russia”.

He responded that no changes were anticipated in regards to any other countries.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) told the Forward it doesn’t object to the reminder being issued.
“This long-standing Customs policy, in contrast to the actions of the European Union, was not intended to stigmatize Israeli products but to merely facilitate duty free access to the US market for Palestinian goods,” said AIPAC spokesman Marshall Wittman. “It does not distinguish among manufacturers in the territories.”
This may be true, but the US policy carries a sting the EU policy does not. The EU policy does not bear a fine for non-compliance, but the US Customs policy carries a fine of 10% the value of the product, which the US Customs Department will presumably remember to begin enforcing.
It is true that this policy, passed through Congress and duly legislated, was a result of the Oslo Accords and as such, was welcomed by Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, but it is unwelcome by the Israelis in its new incarnation.
An Israeli official told YNet, “It is hard to believe that customs officials would randomly decide to publish a notice just because someone complained that guidelines are not being enforced. It’s convenient for them to present it as being a technical issue but in the US things never happen just by chance.”
He added that “under the guise of a technical notice the Americans are taking a political step. Israel will have to decide whether this is a technical reissuing of guidelines or a politically important directive.”

Europe's 'Non-Violent' Campaign Against Israel | Tsvi Sadan ISRAEL TODAY

Europe's 'Non-Violent' Campaign Against Israel

Monday, January 25, 2016 |  Tsvi Sadan  ISRAEL TODAY
The European Union's relentless pressure on Israel to comply with conditions it believes would bring peace amounts to a "non-violent" campaign against the Jewish state. If in the end Israel capitulates to the EU's terms, the peace enforced upon her would be of the kind Field Marshal Archibald Wavell predicted for post-WWI Europe. Forcing Germany to sign the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, Wavell famously stated, would be a "peace to end peace."
The latest attempt to corral Israel was the EU's statement from January 18 reiterating that it will maintain a "full and effective implementation of existing EU legislation and bilateral arrangements applicable to settlements products. The EU expresses its commitment to ensure that … all agreements between the State of Israel and the EU must unequivocally and explicitly indicate their inapplicability to the territories occupied by Israel in 1967."
The statement then goes on to insist that the above "does not constitute a boycott of Israel, which the EU strongly opposes."
In other words, though it strongly opposes efforts to boycott Israel, the EU nevertheless continues its policy of boycotting Israeli goods coming from places like the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo and Barkan Industrial Park east of Petah Tikvah. This statement follows the November 2015 EU decision to brand Israeli products made in East Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights, which was brushed aside as "technical" by EU Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen.
Equally alarming is the American change in policy toward Israel that appears to be a closing of ranks with the EU. It was no accident that US ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro delivered what one described as an "egregiously anti-Israel speech" on the very same day the EU issued its statement.
In words that could have been said by the Swedish Foreign Minister, Shapiro launched his version of this same kind of vitriolic rhetoric. "Too many attacks on Palestinians lack a vigorous investigation or response by Israeli authorities, too much vigilantism goes unchecked," he said, even as Palestinian kids are killing and wounding Israelis on a daily basis.
Shapiro appears to be joining the ever-growing crowd that blames Israel for Palestinian terror. If Israel would withdraw to its 1967 borders, these people believe, peace and tranquility would descend upon this troubled region.
Yet, if Israel's withdrawal to its 1967 Gaza borders is to teach us anything, it would tell us quite clearly that these borders have no magic in them, that there is no magic wand that can be waved to erase the Palestinians' stated purpose of conquering Israel.
Under present conditions, pressuring Israel to accept a two-state solution is a recipe for peace that will end all peace, one that a responsible Israeli government must reject.

Bombshell Report Reveals Obama Spied on Netanyahu During Iran Negotiations By Lea Speyer - BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

Obama Abandons Israel

Bombshell Report Reveals Obama Spied on Netanyahu During Iran Negotiations

“That He will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalm 91:3)
In a bombshell revelation, the US National Security Agency (NSA), under direction of US President Barack Obama, has been eavesdropping on phone conversations between top Israeli officials and American-Jewish groups and US lawmakers, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
Citing current and former US officials as sources, the Obama administration is believed to have intercepted classified information on Israel’s stance against the Iran nuclear deal to be used against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Among various tactics used by the NSA, spying on Jerusalem included “a cyber implant in Israeli networks,” which would open up access to information in Netanyahu’s office.
According to the report, the NSA informed the White House of Netanyahu’s strategy to leak certain details, which were gathered through Israeli espionage operations, of the US-Iran negotiations that could ultimately put Israel in great peril.
NSA reports, delivered to top Obama administration officials, allowed the White House to gain insider information on Israeli lobbying efforts in Congress to turn away support from the nuclear deal.
The Journal described how Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer coached pro-Israel groups on how to formulate their arguments in opposition of the Iran agreement when meeting with US lawmakers. An Israeli Embassy spokesman in Washington told the Journal that this was “total nonsense.”

In January 2014, Obama declared that the US would limit its foreign eavesdropping operations on allies following espionage revelations by former NSA contractor and whistle-blower Edward Snowden.
According to the Journal, while a number of friendly leaders such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande were declared off-limits, Obama cited “compelling national security purpose” to continue monitoring Netanyahu.
“Going dark on Bibi? Of course we wouldn’t do that,” a senior US administration officials told the Journal.
Following Israel’s launch of lobbying efforts against the Iran deal on Capitol Hill, the report stated that Obama administration and intelligence officials quickly realized the NSA was gathering the content of conversations between Israel and US lawmakers.

While a 2011 NSA directive stated communications between members of Congress and foreign intelligence targets must be destroyed upon interception, the NSA director can issue a waiver if he determines “significant foreign intelligence” is contained in the communications.
The report revealed that during Israel’s lobbying efforts in Congress, the NSA removed the name of lawmakers from their reports on Israel but passed them on to Obama officials.
When asked by the newspaper for a comment, a White House National Security Council spokesman stated: “We do not conduct any foreign intelligence activities unless there is a specific and validated national security purpose. This applies to ordinary citizens and world leaders alike.”
In Israel, Intelligence and Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz stated Wednesday that Israel does not spy on the US and expects any administration to do the same.
“Israel does not spy on the US, and we expect that our great friend, the US, will treat us in a similar fashion,” Katz told Ynet news. “If the information on the subject turns out to be true, Israel must file a formal protest with the American government and demand it stop all activities of this kind.”
Former Israeli national security adviser Yaakov Amidror told Army Radio that claims of the US spying on Israel are unsurprising.
“The US listens in on everyone, we don’t need to get excited about it. Everyone knows — it’s a fact,” he said. “Israel is careful not to carry out any spying operations in the United States, not even a little bit.”

Only 8 stood with Israel

Israel, Canada, Panama, the Czech Republic and four tiny Pacific island states were the only ones in the 193-member U.N. General Assembly siding with the U.S. in its quixotic vote against the Palestinian Authority’s request for nonmember observer state status. France, Italy, Spain, Norway, Denmark and Turkey were among the U.S. allies joining the majority in the 138-9 vote, with 41 abstentions.
