Bobby Conner: The Bliss of Waiting and Abiding

Bobby Conner:
The Elijah List

Bobby Conner
The Lifestyle of Waiting

The Lord Jesus spoke to me in a very strong tone, stating, "When it comes to seeking ME, I detest multitasking!"

We cannot develop this ability to hear from the Lord unless we first learn to wait upon the Lord (see Isaiah 40:31).

This "waiting" must be experienced in times set apart in which we are alone with Him (see Psalm 46:10-11). These set-apart times must have a place within our daily life experience. Our seeking is not haphazard or hit and miss: it must be a lifestyle (see Psalm 27:8)!
The true seeking of God is a continuous seeking. It has to do with the position or attitude of our spirit being lifted toward the Lord. Our heart must be attentive to His presence, and our ears must be open to His voice.

We must continuously live in an attitude of worshipful listening, hearing and heeding the direction of God's Spirit.

A yielded life is essential.

He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper. II Chronicles 26:5

The Spirit of Truth is seeking hungry-hearted saints who are desperate to hear and heed the voice of God, wholly following the Lamb of God – those who personally know Him and have received an understanding of His ways (see 1 Corinthians 2:6-7).

We only come to maturity by personally knowing Him. And how do we come to know Him? By spending time with Him in His Presence our entire life takes on a new vibrant outlook (see 2 Corinthians 3:18).

(Photo via Freeimages)

We must pay close attention to nourishing our soul, making sure our spirit-man is not anemic and malnourished. How do we do this?

By continually abiding in the Wisdom and guidance of the Word of God! God does promise that if we seek Him, great will be our reward.

I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me diligently will find Me. Riches and honor are with Me, enduring riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and My revenue than choice silver. I traverse the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, that I may cause those who love Me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.Proverbs 8:17-21

How To Wait Upon the Lord

It is imperative that we learn how to better surrender to the Spirit of God and how to be directed by His Spirit.

Our being guided by the Spirit means that we have developed an appreciation and respect for His presence.

This begins by meditating in the Scriptures so that we may convey true revelation of the Word of God to those who seek to know Him. When I am studying the Scriptures, I seek to allow the Word to enter into me and me into the Word. I see myself within the setting of the event unfolding in the pages of the Word of God (see Hebrews 4:12).

Guidance by the Spirit without words is the result of an active relationship with Jesus, in which His presence abides within us and we abide in Him, "knowing" His Spirit through the deep inner perception of our spirit.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way in which you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Psalm 32:8

Two Aspects to Waiting on the Lord

There are two aspects to our waiting on the Lord:

• The first has to do with our withdrawal from all activity. Through this separation unto God, we enter into a consciousness of His presence. This consciousness can be described as an attitude of anticipation and worship. So the first step in beginning a true seeking of God is for us to set aside time in which we quietly wait to hear His knock upon the door of our spirit

The enemy of our soul will also be knocking, however. Remember, this is a very important point: The devil will always attempt to distract you with thoughts, to turn your mind away from things above (see Colossians 3:5).

• The second aspect of our waiting on the Lord is learning how to continuously abide in His presence no matter the activity at hand. This continuous abiding hinges on the first experience of withdrawal:

(Photo via Pixabay)

"Therefore whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (I Corinthians10:31).

It is possible for us to be separated unto God, "shut in" with the Lord, in the midst of activity (see Matthew 6:6). This will take time, as it does not come easily, or at once. The devil – the foe of your soul – will attempt to steal your intimacy with Jesus. He will distract and disturb you anyway he can with the goal of disrupting your seeking God.

This higher level of relationship begins with our entering our set-apart place and then waiting on the Lord during specific times, times which are set aside for this purpose. Then we can carry His presence out with us to abide in all that we do.

Never forget: True prayer is an audience with the KING!

Assure Your Heart of His Presence

It is reported concerning the early disciples that they were ignorant and untrained; however, it was evident that they had been with Jesus (see Acts 4:13).

Reassure your heart that God is "omnipresent." He is always with you, attentive to your every thought and feeling. Consider Jeremiah 23:24: "'Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?' says the Lord; 'Do not I fill Heaven and earth?' says the Lord."

We can encourage ourselves with the fact that the Lord is present, no matter how we may feel.

This is a tremendous truth, and will greatly help us – once it captures our heart. Our remaining conscious of the fact of His presence as we wait on the Lord is like recharging a battery: It is a renewing process of His life flowing into our lives and a joining of our spirit with the Lord through faith. His presence will gradually become our delight.
Another way to understand this is that we, being a branch, are to draw the life of the vine into our spirit.

(Photo via Pixabay)

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
As our mind is renewed by waiting on the Lord, it is brought closer to His mind – and we come to understand His ways. Consider I Corinthians 2:16: "...But we have the mind of Christ." This truth is worked into our spirit as we spend time in the Lord's presence, waiting upon Him.

Be Determined To Wait

The only way for us to enter this relationship of His abiding presence is to begin waiting upon the Lord on a regular basis, with a determination not to stop until we have met with and supped with Him.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...Romans 12:2
As we seek first the Kingdom of God, the blessings and overwhelming benefits of God flood our lives (see Matthew 6:33). The overwhelming bliss and joy of a soul prospering in the favor of God is a noble quest. A truth we must grasp is money and material things do not bring lasting satisfaction and joy of soul.

As we become relentless, determined not to stop, as we meet and sup with Him, both our waiting and our abiding in His presence will become our highest joy (see Psalm 16:11)!

Let It Be? - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Let It Be?
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

“For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” Romans 1:24 NAS

When enough is enough, one has to start pushing back, or even you yourself will start believing that what is being said is the truth. If any agenda is pushed far enough, what you once thought and believed to be right will soon become wrong, and what was wrong will then become what is “right.”

Wrong.

By adding little lies upon another little lie, in time you yourself may start agreeing with the ones who have spoken the longest, and the loudest. Step by step, what was once wrong has now become the new norm, and what was, and still is, truth is said to not really have been the truth after all.

There are agendas being pushed forward in our society which makes it look like “their way is THE way”. What we began hearing back years ago, if even so softly then, has now decades later been brought to the forefront. The local and national media, proponents of a certain lifestyle, have said it long enough, and pushed far enough, where today even those we would have looked to, to be proponents of truth, whether in the church, education, politics or sports, no longer should be counted on for speaking the truth. For they themselves have succeeded in telling us that “this is OK, this is the norm, this is the way it is, so let it be. Just let it be.” They even celebrate and rejoice that “freedom” has now come.

I am not going to “let it be.”

If we stand by and just let it be, that which we know as truth, what we still believe as truth in the Lord’s Word, which is Truth - it will be completely thrown out, trampled down, and ridiculed to the point where those who stand for the Truth will find themselves standing alone. The evil agenda of the demonic forces will have succeeded in deceiving the mass population from the truth. In many cases they already have.

Watching the current broadcast news, listening to the voices in the secular workplace, hearing of that being pushed in the school system, if ever so subtle, has taken us down the road far enough to have given us what was written about in the Bible.

“For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are  gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.” Romans 1:21-32 NASU

Truth cannot be written off because people say it no longer is, or have even denied that there was any to begin with. What the Lord God Almighty has written, our Creator, cannot and will not be denied, no matter who say it has, or who has pushed it out of the way. The Lord will have His final say in all this.

“Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.” 2 Thess. 2:8-12 NASU

We must stand for the truth. We must not sit back and let our generation, nor our children’s generation, accept that “whatever will be will be”, and that it is OK for each to do as they feel is OK in their eyes.

There is a godly standard. There is a strong foundation of truth to stand on, that will not be changed. There is a time when we must say the “Let it be” words are not what it is to be.

Now is that time.

Bobby Conner: Purified, Prepared, and Predestined

Bobby Conner:
Purified, Prepared, and Predestined
The Elijah List

Bobby Conner
Days of Preparation

Beloved, we are in the midst of a great, divine acceleration in the Spirit. The Body of Christ is being prepared for a fresh, new day of God's plan. The Spirit of God is doing a new thing and we must be prepared to move with Him (see Isaiah 48:6-7). Although this process could take a long time to mature fully, God has been preparing us for this day for many years!

We are moving into the destiny the Lord has prepared for us before the foundation of the world.

This is a season of preparation.

The Spirit of Truth is dealing deeply with Believers, calling us to draw near to Christ Jesus Himself with a holiness and single-mindedness like we have never before experienced. The Lord's people are being groomed to encounter Him in the fiery cloud of His Presence, and God will be found by, and in, all who are seeking Him with their whole Deep Calls Unto Deep by Mike De Lorenzo heart (see Jeremiah 29:12-13).

Truly, "deep is calling unto deep" (see Psalm 42:7). This is not the time to remain half-hearted and shallow: Now is the time to launch out into the deep and cry out with the apostle Paul, "That I may know Him" (Philippians 3:10), to be conformed to His image and to carry His presence. The Bride is being prepared to experience true union with Christ, to know Him intimately in order to be like Him in every aspect of our being, in spirit, soul, and body.

Revelation of Purity

How is this transformation happening? The Spirit of Truth is highlighting purity and uprightness so we may all walk in true holiness and the fear of the Lord (see 2 Corinthians 7:1).

This lifestyle is not legalism but purity produced by love and loyalty for Christ the King
.
Truly, the Body of Christ is no longer satisfied with knowing our Lord and Savior as a doctrine of our mental understanding. As the Lord responds to the hunger of His people, He is revealing the Person of Jesus in the inward parts of our spirit. What we've understood with our "head knowledge," we will begin to experience through spiritual revelation. And as the eyes of our heart become enlightened, our character and lifestyle will be transformed (see Ephesians 1:17-18).

Integrity and honesty will become paramount.

We will live each day in such a manner that greatly pleases the Lord (see Colossians 1:9-10).

Revelation of Strategies
Springs of Life Key by Lillis BoyerAs a result of this deeper consecration to the Lord, many will receive divine strategies for this pivotal season (see John 16:13).

The Spirit of Truth is releasing revelatory insights for all who are willing to hear Him with a heart set to obey what He is requesting (see James 1:22).

Prepare to see an acceleration of the advancing of God's plans and purposes. God will have a people of purity and power, who live, move, and have their being in the absolute authority of Christ.

Revelation of Destiny

Whether or not you feel you are fulfilling your destiny, you are being prepared by the King of kings for His good purposes. You were chosen by God and have been given a divine destiny in eternities past. Why? The Lord is calling you to partner with Him to shape the future of the Kingdom of God (see 2 Corinthians 6:1)! This seems almost too marvelous to be true, but it is the Word of God. Ephesians 2:10 explains:

"For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

What does it mean to be "HIS workmanship"? The Greek term translated workmanship ispoiema, from which we derive the English word poem. Indeed, we are God's poem, written in ages past to be a living testimony of His presence on earth (see Psalm 139:16-17). Without exception, every Believer has been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has ordained for us.

Revelation of Anointing

In Yeshua's Presence by Jennifer PageThe desperate cry of many Believers is: "Oh, Lord, let Your works appear unto Your people" (see Psalm 90:16-17). The good news is that God's anointing rests upon pure, upright followers of Jesus, and we will fulfill His purposes on earth. God has not only ordained good works for us, but He has also provided the grace we need to perform these works (see Philippians4:13). We all have "an unction to function." Each one of us is anointed to fulfill the purposes of God (see Acts 1:8).

As we move deeper into this season of sensitivity and revelatory enlightenment, we must never forget that our calling and destiny, our chief aim, is to abide in our Beloved Jesus Christ, fixing our eyes on Him and Him alone.

Only in His light do we see light (see Psalm 36:9). Only in His presence do we obtain a happy, holy heart (see Psalm 16:11).

Leaders With Pure Hearts

These marks of maturity are being seen in many lives, but it is imperative that leaders set an even higher standard for the Body of Christ. Purity of heart and purity of motives are required if we are to behold the Lord (see Hebrews 12:14).

Divinely appointed leaders are emerging who have a single heart's goal to establish the King in His Kingdom on earth.

Heart of Fire and Passion by Lillis BoyerThis purity of heart is an absolute requirement for every Believer and leader, because we are entering into a season of signs and wonders on a level never before experienced. But we must be on the alert: the supernatural will be displayed not only from the Holy Spirit but also from the dark side.

Scripture warns that, in the last days, deception will be strong (see Matthew 24:24). Even though the enemy will attempt to deceive many, Christ Jesus will have for Himself a people prepared to do greater works (see John14:12).

This is not a time for any Believer or leader in the Body of Christ to be humdrum, expecting only what we have seen and experienced before. We have never been where we are going now (see Joshua 3:4).

We all must prepare for what is ahead: The call to embrace the awe of Almighty God. A wonderful, reverential fear of the Lord is returning to the people of God, releasing the wisdom of God (see Psalm 111:10).

The hearts and lives of millions are going to be touched and transformed by the power of God during these days, as God's people return to a radical love for Christ.

Amen!
