Bolz Ministries Weekly - Shawn Bolz, Prophetic Ministry

Hi friends....we hope you have an amazing week!  Check out what's happening in our world this week!
One of the top questions I am asked is, “Will you mentor me?”
What a privilege it is to be asked! But of course mentoring is a huge responsibility and a decision not lightly made. Also, most people are looking for more than a little guidance, opportunity, and impartation. They are looking for access to the gifts they are inspired by to come through the person they are asking to be mentored by.
Here’s the reality: you already have access through the Holy Spirit, and growth has to be a very personally driven process in your life. I love how Paul reminded Timothy to fan into flame the gifts he had received through times of prayer and the laying on of hands. The verse doesn’t say, “light a fire, Timothy, and then stand back while I fan your flames.”
In other words, “God gave some gifts and we helped you get started, but you are responsible to stoke the fire of passion that leads you into your spiritual journey. No one can want what you want as much as you are supposed to want it.”
If I begin to mentor you the old-school way, you go everywhere with me, watch me, and sometimes participate with me. In this case, you will definitely have a good time (because I am loads of fun!), but it doesn’t guarantee that you will grow in your gifts.
By hanging out with me, you might even be sacrificing some good growth time where you are the one being activated. Instead, you are doing a “ride-along” with brother Shawn, kind of like in the back seat of my prophetic ministry travels. I have rarely seen someone who is being mentored by just serving and shadowing a prophetic person actually gain the same amount of authority and prophetic impact as someone who is directly pursuing the gifts.

This doesn’t mean we don’t need mentors or that we shouldn’t spend seasons serving. But we need to do it in a way that is still in direct pursuit of what we want to be mentored in. For example, you would never do a residency at a hospital after years of college and be satisfied just answering phones at the front desk.

The majority of your growth in the prophetic can be self-managed. In other words, you can practice daily, learn to apply the prophetic in your life and the world around you, and compare your process with your peers.

If you want to grow in your prophetic gifting, spend time in God’s presence. Pray, yes, and read the Word. But also sit with God and listen for His voice—rather than just talking to Him. Sitting in silence— practicing solitude—can be tough! But it’s worth it.

Robbie Phillips - A Prophet of the Lord Jesus. Now dancing on the streets of gold!

Robbie Phillips
A Prophet of the Lord Jesus
Now with Our Lord!
(On to glory Oct. 7, 2017)

Oct. 8, 2017  Sunday

Our dear friend and beloved brother in the Lord, Robbie Phillips, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. He had suffered a massive stroke the Sunday before and was on life support until he was released to pass on. He is now dancing on the streets of glory and celebrating the life he so faithfully prophesied to others, as a Prophet and worship leader, walking out his calling. He was indeed a chosen vessel in the Body of our Lord Jesus while living on this planet.

Laurie and I first met Robbie in the late 1990's while at a conference in Columbia, South Carolina. In the prophetic ministry portion, Robbie spoke a word to each of the ones gathered in the room to receive from the Lord. When Robbie declared boldly over me of my being a "teacher" I did not receive it too well. In fact, I spoke later to the organizer Danny Steyne that he was a false prophet! I told Robbie later it was a lie and did not receive his "false" word to me. Oh was I mistaken!

Since then, and on many occasions later, Robbie faithfully drove the 1.5 hours one way, often with his good wife Betty, to Charlotte to share his love and gifts to home gatherings here.  His accurate prophetic words have come to pass, and are still being fulfilled in our lives and our loved ones.

In May of this year I published a chapter on Robbie in my book, Basic Life Principles. I wanted to honor the Prophet of the Lord for his faithfulness and love.

We love you Robbie and Betty! We honor your legacy! (They too would have celebrated their 40th anniversary today, Oct. 8, 2017 as Laurie and I are so doing.)

We will miss you Robbie, but will be seeing you soon! I hope my mansion is next to yours my beloved friend!

With our eternal love,

Steve and Laurie Martin

These 4 Dreams Offer Insight into What the Lord Is Doing in Prophetic Ministry - WANDA ALGER CHARISMA NEWS

These 4 Dreams Offer Insight into What the Lord Is Doing in Prophetic Ministry

WANDA ALGER  CHARISMA NEWS
The Lord is calling out to the prophets and intercessors to prepare for what is ahead in this next year and to work together in even more strategic ways. We are on high alert in the spirit because of the major shifts that are taking place both nationally and globally. A series of dreams I recently had on the 11th day of a 12-Day fast concerning the government mountain, details some of the things that are happening and that are going to happen. It also reveals the great need for intercessors to partner with and cover those with a prophetic mantle.
The first dream
In the very first dream of the series, I experienced what seems to be happening in the Spirit due to the voices of the prophets this past year.
I was outside working near a fountain doing some work. I looked around the surrounding landscape and I saw many "bushes," clumps of tangled up roots, coming towards me from all directions. They were huge balls of dried-up roots and branches that seemed alive, and they were moving toward me as if a magnet was attracting them. Next, I see birds. Not ordinary birds, but specific kinds with a distinct tail that I knew were from the enemy. They were trying to find a place to land on me. Last, I saw a group of teenagers coming towards me on the right. They were yelling, accusing and cursing me. It all happened quickly, but I instinctively knew witchcraft was at work behind it all. Even though I felt hesitant to yell at the teenagers, I knew another force was compelling them, so I yelled "Stop!"
That one directive was all that was needed to halt the intrusion.
This opening dream gives the context for the rest. It illustrates the results of our prayers and warfare in this nation. It is the prophet (and in some cases, the prophetic intercessor) who is standing by the fountain. The prophets have been uniquely gifted to lead the way in identifying and exposing the sins on this land. The fountain in the dream represents the life flow of the Spirit that prophets draw from. As a result of drawing from this wellspring of revelation, many prophets who were previously hidden came "outside"—into the public arena—to "work"/prophesy during the election, declaring freedom from the curse and healing to the land. However, in coming into the open, they have also exposed themselves to the enemy.
The clumps of bushes reveal the ungodly roots of this nation that have been pulled up and are, even now, being displaced on the land. In God's eyes, they are but tumbleweed, yet they are fighting back. The enemy will not give up ground easily and hell's agents are coming to intimidate and provoke fear into those who are calling them out. In like manner, the birds also represent agents of the enemy. In Eccl.10:20, it speaks of a bird "in the sky" that is used of the enemy to "carry your voice" to its master in order to build a case against you. I knew in the dream these were those kinds of birds. They were trying to find something to land on. It is in this regard that the prophets and intercessors must be able to have the testimony of Jesus when He said, "...[Satan] has no power over me" (John 14:30b). We must be sure to be clear of any charges against us in the courts of heaven in order to stand with proper authority.
The teenagers who were yelling represent this next generation that has been brainwashed by the spirit of the age. They are upset and angry, yet they are being driven by an agenda that is not of God. (I believe they were on my right side because their hearts are pure, but they are being deceived.) Before we can address their true God-given hunger and passion, we need to take a stand in the Spirit and bind the enemy at work in order to open their eyes.
This too is an important point. In the dream, I only said "Stop." I did not rebuke or engage the enemy. I believe this is a word of caution when dealing with principalities. We are told to stand and resist the enemy. This was confirmed to me twice during this 12-Day fast when the Lord woke me up on Day 1 and Day 4, both times at exactly 3:22 a.m. He directed me to Deut. 3:22 which says, Do not fear them, for the Lord your God, He shall fight for you." As we begin to take and occupy the territory before us, we will be displacing many giants on the land. The Lord is telling us if we do our part, He will do His.
The next two dreams both said the same thing in different ways. The Lord is showing us the power that when "even two" agree on something, so shall it be.
The second dream
A man helped rescue me from a bad situation. There wasn't much detail, other than that when I thanked him for his life-saving assistance, he told me he received a word from heaven two times in a row. That's how he knew to help me.
The third dream
I was sitting with a group of others, watching myself on a big screen being interviewed on a major TV network. The thing was—this was a live feed. Yet, I was also sitting in the room watching. I was in two places at the same time. In the interview, I was telling someone that I had received two calls from heaven concerning this interview.
In this set of two dreams, the main message is to pay attention to our agreement in prayer. "again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 18:19). It is those who have been assigned to prophesy over this nation in this hour who will be the first targets of the enemy. It will be as if a magnet is on them, attracting the evil forces they are displacing through the anointing from heaven. They must be covered in prayer, both for their clarity of purpose and potentially for their own personal safety.
The second scenario is showing the reality of the two realms we live in, the natural and the spiritual. Even as I was "watching myself," it was my spirit (on the big screen) that was hearing from heaven and giving me the confidence and affirmation that I was in the right place at the right time.
I believe there will be prophets in this next year who will not only stand out in the church mountain, but will be seen in the national media. What is to come will be so astounding, prophets will be speaking on major TV networks speaking the word of the Lord. However, the intercessors must be praying and declaring heaven's purposes and promises at the same time. The partnership of prophets and intercessors is key to being properly aligned and mantled with God's presence and anointing. Because of the enemy's backlash, it is the prayers of the saints that will provide the cover and blessing for others to move into position and declare God's purposes for this nation.
The fourth dream
I was listening to executives of major TV networks strategically planning when to air certain things specifically because a large number of people would be watching at the same time. They knew they would attract something from the spirit realm with a critical mass in agreement. I also knew that instead of showing things at nighttime, they would specifically air things at 12 noon because of that critical mass.
This "collective mindset" is not just another way of describing unity. It speaks to the demonic mind control that is being used to deceive and blind people to the Truth. The spiritual principle is that when there are enough people believing the same thing, it has power to attract—either heaven or hell. The Lord is alerting us to this reality in order to challenge us in what we agree on! The enemy is already planning strategic events in the next 12 months in order to grow in influence and power. We must be ready to not only resist but displace that collective mindset with unity in Christ.
"Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you" (Job 22:21, ESV).
It is our collective agreement in prayer that will displace these demonic strongholds and forces that have been illegal squatters in this nation. It is also because of this power of unity in the Spirit that there will be a divine separation in this next year of the false prophets from the true prophets. Throughout my fast, I kept hearing, "True prophets know true prophets." Because of the residue from years of dysfunctional prophetic understanding in the body of Christ, there are many self-appointed and counterfeit prophets in the land. Some are simply ignorant of what it means and are acting out of desire rather than call. Others are taking liberties not given to them and speaking into fields they have not been assigned. The Lord is going to "drain the swamp" in this regard. Even as the White House is going through a spiritual cleansing, the church is going to undergo the same treatment.
The true prophetic is not marked simply by words of encouragement or promises of provision and advancement. The prophetic is marked, first and foremost, by revelation. It is the prophet's role to see and hear the mysteries of heaven and stir up that same hunger and gifting within believers (Amos 3:7). It is the call of the prophet to multiply themselves and equip the body. Those who are prophesying simply to build a ministry or personal platform and following will lose influence this next year. The Lord will increase His favor and grace to those He has mantled with the purity of heart in seeing the next generation fully empowered in and by the Holy Spirit. It is the true prophets He has called in this hour who will be supernaturally drawn to one another because of the same spirit in which they function. The true prophets will simply know who the other true prophets are and will begin to partner together.
It is the pleasure of the Lord to see the Kingdom age emerge as the foundation of the ecclesia is properly established and built in this nation through the apostles and prophets. He is telling His prophets to speak up. Though there are giants in the land, we have already overcome. But we cannot go in alone. We need each other. Everyone plays a part: apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, intercessors and all the other parts of the body. May we enter this season with eyes open, hearts aligned and prayers ready to agree with God in order for heaven to truly come to earth.

How to Steward Prophetic Words - RYAN LESTRANGE CHARISMA MAGAZINE

The first thing you must do to steward a prophetic word is to examine it.

How to Steward Prophetic Words

The first thing you must do to steward a prophetic word is to examine the vessel. (Lightstock)

Join us on our new podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Prophecy is a very special gift that is given to the church to edify, exhort and comfort the people of God (1 Cor. 14:3). When a church, a ministry or a person embraces a prophetic spirit, there are great revelation, direction and strength that are released.
The prophetic ministry has the potential to be a powerful catalyst of change and progress to the body of Christ. The enemy hates authentic prophetic ministry and will do all that he can to sow seeds of discord and confusion.
"Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophecies. Examine all things. Firmly hold onto what is good" (1 Thess. 5:19-21, MEV).
We are given three instructions in these verses:
1. Do not quench the Spirit! There is so much more that is available to us when we step into the realm of the Spirit.
2. Do not despise the prophetic! No matter how messy it gets or what mistakes are made, we are told to value the flow of prophetic gifts.
3. Prove all things and hold fast to the good. We must learn to discern the real gift of prophecy in our lives.
When we receive a personal prophetic word, we are accountable to properly steward it! Many people have received volumes of prophetic words that have not produced fruit in their lives.
Why? I believe a common reason for unfruitful prophetic words is that we have failed to properly steward what the Lord has said to us. A prophetic word is not the destination but simply the gateway. It is an invitation to the journey but the way we navigate the journey will determine how and if we arrive at the final destination.
The first thing that you must do to steward a personal prophecy is to judge it. Is it a true word from the Lord? Here are some simple tips to recognize and judge personal prophecy:
1. Examine the vessel. The first question to ask is: "Who gave you the word and how was it delivered?" Why is this important? Many times, a wrong word is evidenced by the way it is delivered. I have seen many "parking lot prophets" who roam from church to church to engage in a renegade prophetic ministry that operates outside of any blessing from the house. This creates conflict by speaking to the ambitions of people instead of pure prophetic declaration.
"We ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who labor among you, and are appointed over you in the Lord, and instruct you" (1 Thess. 5:12, MEV).
You should have some knowledge of a person's character before allowing them to speak into your life. People who claim to be prophets yet disrespect order, tearing down more than they ever build up, are indeed deceived. The problem that arises is that sometimes a deceived person still has an accurate gift that will draw people in.
How can this be?
There are two answers:
  • The gifts and calling of God are without repentance (Rom. 11:29). Simply put, God doesn't remove a gift because a person gets in error. It is quite possible for someone to speak out a prophecy with accuracy but have poor fruit. The other important thing to know is that the highest level of prophetic operation is not just revealing the desires of a human heart; it is releasing the heart of the Father and revealing the end of the matter! Many times, personal prophecy also contains a dimension of rebuke in order to align the recipient with God's heart and plan for him.
  • There is a false spirit in operation. There are many people out there who have opened themselves up to wrong spirits. These individuals have communication in the spirit realm with demonic spirits. They can give accurate information but cannot release the Father's heart because they are blocked by their deception. On more than one occasion, I have seen a spirit of divination operating through someone and mimicking the prophetic. The end result is destruction, which is why knowing the fruit and doing things in order are so important.
2. Judge all prophecies by the written Word of God. "But the one who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted because he has forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins" (2 Pet. 1:9, MEV).
"I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, 'See that you not do that. I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy'" (Rev. 19:10, MEV).
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1, MEV).
No prophetic word should disagree with the written Word of God. In fact, the church should actively examine prophetic utterances to make sure that they are in line with God's Word and boldly toss out any that are not. For example, if a person prophesies that a married person is to leave their spouse and marry someone else, that prophecy is a blatant deception and witchcraft at work. If a renegade tries to prophesy to a church member that God wants them to rebel against the leaders, again, this prophecy is a deception and false spirit. Never accept a prophetic word that cannot be properly judged by God's Word.
3. Is it something that God has already been speaking to you? Ask yourself if the word confirms something you've already felt led to do. For example, a person owns a business that God clearly directed him to have and God told him that it is a place of fruitfulness and ministry for him. Then he gets a prophecy that he is to sell the business and start a church. He should never just run out and do that. If the prophetic word does not bear witness in the inner man, then either put it on the shelf, as it could be for a future time, or throw it out. Never make a major decision based on a single prophetic word without any leading of the Spirit in your own life!
4. Get wise counsel. Take the word to trusted advisers and ask them to judge it. "For by wise counsel you will wage your war, and in multitude of counselors there is safety" (Prov. 24:6, MEV).
When judging a personal prophecy, honor your spiritual relationships and seek the input of these trusted individuals. If your parents are godly people, ask them what they think. If you are married, and your spouse is serving the Lord, seek his input. The people who know you best and are committed to God's will for you can often see things that you may not see. Also, seek the input of your spiritual leadership. Go to your pastor or apostolic leadership and ask him for insight. So many times I have seen a prophecy steer someone in the wrong direction and then this person's lack of communication with godly leaders empowered the deception.
Once you have discerned that the prophetic word is accurate and speaking to you, then you must steward it.
Keys:
1. Write it down, record it and keep it in front of you! This is key. You must have a record of the word in order to partner with it.
2. Pray over the word and then declare the word over your life! I have found many times that as I have taken a prophetic word and prayed over it, the Father then gives me further instruction and more direction. This is so vital to steward a prophetic word. Also, the word brings faith and power into your life. Speak the word over your life.
3. Look for promptings and instructions. Most big, bold prophetic words contain miraculous breakthroughs that are beyond human efforts. There are certain promises that take God's power to fulfill. You cannot make the fulfillment happen, but you can obey small, daily instructions and take steps of faith as you advance in the will of God for your life. For example, if the word is about financial breakthrough, it may be that the Lord deals with you about sowing and stewardship. Listen for His instructions. Many times, prophetic words create forward motion in your life.
4. Rest in faith and patience. You cannot tell God when or how the word comes to pass. You must rest in the reality that in the spirit, the fulfillment of the word is done! That is what faith is—the realization that it is finished. There is no worry about the matter when you are in faith. Our Father partners with patience. Patience is the ability to wait without being anxious. There are many lessons in the process of waiting. Find the beauty in the journey and trust God with the timing.
Let's value the prophetic words spoken over us and fight for them to come to pass! We can all learn to do better in stewarding the move of God and His promises in our lives.

Zebra, Moon & Truck. What? - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Zebra, Moon & Truck.
What?

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 2:13 NKJV)

It is a snow and ice day here in Charlotte, NC this January day. No uptown office open for work. Schools are shut down. After all, there is an inch of snow on the ground. I love how this global warming fantasy hits us! (But in all fairness to Charlotteans and many Carolinians, there is a ¼” of ice under the snow. Treacherous.)

So great! I can write another Now Think On This message!

This past week I attended the Wednesday night classes our church, MorningStar (Rick Joyner) in Fort Mill, SC, started up again with the new year. Being I want to have the Holy Spirit more develop the prophetic gift He has given me in some measure, with further training, I selected the “Prophetic 101” six week course. There was a good turnout. People are getting more hungry for His Word.It will be an hour of power.

After listening to a time of instruction, which I had familiarity with much of it already, the teacher asked us to pray a short moment at our tables. (We use tables rather than rows of chairs. Works good in getting to know others.) She said to then write down words or phrases that the Holy Spirit would give us, with us assuming and believing that we would then share them with another, as something to encourage them with.

So I did. (I was always a good student!)

As you will see in the photo, I wrote in one column down the left hand side of the page the following words:

Zebra, moon, blue, river, truck, anticipation, songbird, elation, joyful, and simplify.

What?

I had no idea what they meant, or stood for. I knew the Holy Spirit knew, for He normally either gives me a “prophetic word” as a picture in my mind whenever I receive a prophetic word, to start with, or just one word, as a word of knowledge (literally, right?)

Then the instructor told us that those words or phrases we had written down were actually for us. Oh really? Nice. Now I was certainly intrigued. This class will be good I thought.

As I usually do, I shared the words with Laurie once I got home, and being past my bedtime, dutifully went to bed. I would have to ponder over the words in the days to come.

Well, that was three days ago, and I had just initially put the words in my “Prophetic Words 2016” 3-ring binder, along with other personal ones from 2015. But this morning I took them out of the protective plastic sleeve and asked the Holy Spirit to give me further revelation. He did.

Zebra” to me represents black and white. I am a “black and white” guy. No gray in my character, or so I hope. Others, even my boss at Derek Prince Ministries back in the day, once told me I was “too black and white.” At the time he wasn’t congratulating me. (Basically, I was be asked to “expand” my viewpoint in a situation, as he saw it.) I still see things either black or white.

Moon” – well, I desire to reflect the Son. I hope we all have that heart’s desire within us, and that we shine in the darkness growing all around us.

“Blue” – the color blue in spiritual, prophetic words represents “prophetic”. I want to grow in that gift of the Holy Spirit. Thus the weekly Wednesday night class attendance for me.

River” – may the Holy Spirit’s “river of life” flow through us, bringing His refreshing and provision!

Truck” – moving in ministry should be our desire - to have that “vehicle” to hear and then obey the Lord as we move forward. I want a big truck!

Anticipation” – without hope our vision fails us. Without having an anticipation for what the good Lord has planned and purposed for us will leave us in discouragement, defeat, and ultimate death in our walk with Jesus (Yeshua).

Songbird” – one who is singing praise, proclamations and declarations of the Lord. Yes! Love it! May we have a heart of worship towards the Risen King of Israel and the nations.

Elation” – not sure on this one yet. Any advice out there?

Joyful” – a fruit of the Holy Spirit. May His joy be ours, so we can be overcomers in all that we will face today, and tomorrow, with His grace and power.

Simplify” – the times are coming when we will have to simplify our lives, not only for ourselves, but also our families. “The times they are a changin’” as Bob Dylan sang in 1964. Even more so in our time, and we best get ready for it. This won’t be our daddy’s lifestyle for that which lies ahead of us. We will have to cut back in our consumption of worldly goods, and be ready to share what we have more so with others.

Ask Him to speak to you today. He certainly wants to. Together we need more of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We need You daily Lord, so we can hear and obey.

More Lord. We need more of You.

So think on this, with the compassionate love of the Lord,

Steve Martin
