Joni Ames: "To Infinity and Beyond!"

The Elijah List Dec 1, 2017

Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:
This latest article by Joni Ames is full of prophetic nuggets for now and for the new year. I'm really enjoying reading some of the words for the new year coming in...they are highly encouraging to the Body of Christ and what God has in store for us.
In Joni Ames word she shared this empowering message:
As we are now in 5778 on the Jewish calendar and going into 2018 on the Gregorian calendar, I heard, "The 8s will be great." Eight is the number of new beginnings. In a vision, I saw the 8 flop on its side, becoming a pair of glasses that the Lord handed to me to put on. As I did, I had a amazingly exceptional sight of both natural and spiritual activity. I heard, "Heightened 20/20 vision and power to see, declare, and release now that which will flow forth into 2020 and beyond."
Folks...this is an excellent read. Please make sure to forward on to all you know and please tell them to subscribe to the Elijah List for themselves right here.

We are in a time of awakening, even on the Jewish Calendar. We're in the 5770s, which are called Ayin. It means eyes opened (awake), and seeing more clearly than before. In order to be able to handle it all, we must understand some things so we can properly posture ourselves. As ministers of the Gospel, not only do we have to make it through, but we must be equipped and able to help the rest of the Body to do so without giving up.
We are experiencing what Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24. Jesus warned us within those verses that because of lawlessness the hearts of many would grow cold (see Matthew 24:12). Webster's dictionary describes cold-hearted as marked by lack of sympathy or sensitivity, and some synonyms are: callous and heartless, as opposed to: being charitable, compassionate, merciful and warmhearted.
It's easy for those who deal with the public every day to become cold. We need to face the day and people with the love of God, looking for ways to spread His encouragement and hope. On Veterans Day, I went to the post office to get my mail, and of course the business side where they sell stamps was closed. A lady was coming in with two envelopes in hand and was very disappointed that it wasn't open. As I went to my car the Lord said, "You have stamps in your wallet. Make her day. Go give her what she needs."
As I did, she lit up and even said, "You've made my day!" That may seem small, but our random acts of kindness become ripples on the pond. God is love. The Word says that they'll know we are Christians by our love (see John 13:35). Also it's His kindness that leads to repentance (see Romans 2:4). Simply holding a door for someone, smiling and speaking kind words, or doing some random act of kindness, can help rebuke and destroy that opposite spirit trying to raise its ugly self in someone's life.
Defining the Battle
"Those who have been passed over in times past shall now see a table set before them in the presence of their enemies."
What we are witnessing in the world is the spirit of antichrist beginning to appear more blatantly than ever before. It is not only anti-Christian, it is "anti-all" that Christ or the term Christian stands for. So there is great warning to us here that we, as Christians, not get caught up in its web.
"The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, and able to remove the enemy's strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). It's war. It's what they call a Cold War. The major weapons being used aren't bullets and bombs (although those are strategically being used as well). But some of the main weapons being used are discouragement, division, hopelessness, fear, distrust and discord.
Going back to Webster's dictionary, a Cold War is defined as: a conflict over ideological differences carried on by methods short of sustained overt military action, and usually without breaking off diplomatic relations; a condition of rivalry, mistrust, and often open hostility short of violence especially between power groups.
Let's war by teaching the truth in love to our congregations. Knowledge is power. We can't effectively battle against an unknown enemy. That's boxing with the air. Let's attain wisdom and understanding about the enemy in order to become a united front against it. God does not want us to be ignorant of the enemy's devices (see 2 Corinthians 2:11). The Church needs to quit being so silent in speaking about government issues from the pulpit. It is from the churches in America that men gathered together to put together our Declaration of Independence.
New Reformation
This year, we celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Reformation of the Church through Martin Luther's 95 thesis. Prior to that, the Church simply believed what they were told by the church leaders and did not read the Word of God for themselves. That is what has happened with people regarding government. (Photo via Flickr)
But in this time of awakening, we need to call for a true Reformation and Declaration of Independence to occur within our minds, hearts, and mouths regarding government. Just as back then, it is time to quit simply believing what we are told and to get the truth for ourselves.
Let's declare ourselves independent of the oppressive antichrist spirit of government and political correctness that has arisen throughout our nation and the world. Let's not simply stand by and let the Church and our nation be taken captive. We must do what we were born for and speak God's truth that sets captives free.
Let's unashamedly and without fear declare God's Declaration of Independence – the Word of God – over our families and this nation.Let's teach our congregations about what is really going on. Stand for the truth and inform our people! If you lose an expensive building because you stand for righteousness, so what. We are in this to save souls, not buildings.
The Church in America is to take a stand against the tyranny of the worldwide antichrist system!
Praying Women
Praying women: you in particular have been called from the beginning of time to crush the enemy (see Genesis 3:15). "Rise! Shine! For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you" (Isaiah 60:1-2).

Recent Dream of Turtles
I had a dream recently about turtles. They were slow, but all of a sudden, they all gathered together and began emerging out of their shells. They came forth in the shape of people, and then suddenly became dressed as warrior ninja turtles, like in the cartoon.
I felt that the Lord interpreted this as: there have been many who have been slow to come to the forefront, who are now going to break out of their shells and become very powerful in the Kingdom. They will become God's ninja warriors. They may be late bloomers, but they are right on time for God's Kingdom purposes to come forth through them.
The 8s Will Be Great and to Infinity and Beyond!
The 8 then became the infinity symbol and I heard, "To infinity and beyond!" I had a knowing that things of eternal significance are occurring right before our eyes in the White House and throughout America.
Increased Healing Power
"Let's war by teaching truth in love to our congregations. "
Several years ago, I had a dream about huge "circus tents" being used for healing revivals that would rival what occurred in the days of the great healing evangelists.
Earlier this year the Ringling Brothers Circus shut down. As soon as that came on the news, I knew the Lord was speaking what I saw with "those tents" was about to occur. The time has come. I don't know what they want to do with those tents, but I do know what God wants to do. It will truly be the greatest show on earth, as we see people's legs grow out where there weren't any, wheelchairs disposed of, crutches hung on walls, as well as blind eyes opened and deaf ears unstopped.
Hamans Will Be Hung
The more the enemy tries to stomp on President Trump, the stronger he gets. The Lord told me back in the spring that we would see the Hamans get hung on their own gallows! The same thing will happen with other leaders whom God has designated to come forth for such a time to lead our nation. The more that comes against these leaders God has designated, the stronger they will get too.
Hollywood
The revival that has begun in Hollywood is only going to get stronger. Because there are those who are praying and seeking God's face there, things are being exposed and captives are being released. God is taking captivity captive there!
The Best IS Yet to Come
In this year of Chet on the Jewish calendar, the swords have formed a doorway that is covered with the Blood of the Lamb. The Chet is yoking them together for safe passage for God's people to move forward in victory, which is protected by Him and His heavenly angelic team.
Those who have been passed over in times past shall now see a table set before them in the presence of their enemies.
Although gross darkness will continue to try to cover the earth, God's light and glory will continue to shine upon His people. There will be a holy fear that comes upon those who try to get in their way. You will even hear the media say something like, "It is uncanny how the more that comes against this president and these people, the stronger they seem to get." (Photo via Pixabay)
Unity
We will continue to see greater unity come forth among the people of our nation as tragedies unfold. We are a family and when families fight, they put down their swords and help one another.
Weather
Strange weather patterns and systems will continue to be seen. The greatest threat being earthquakes. The reason being is that everything that can be shaken is being shaken. Therefore, there will be visible manifestations of that.
The Trumpet Call
God has set His plumbline in our nation once again. The Church must arise and speak with clarity the uncompromised Word of God now. There needs to be a clarion call to return to the basics of the Word of God and holiness.
The Church needs to speak up and call an end to the bitterness, strife, hatred and division that the enemy has stirred up in our country. We must not relax because a battle has been won in the presidency, as we are still very much at war. We must keep and even increase our momentum into the next election.
Be aware that much new information and distractions will occur almost daily. Let's keep our focus on the Lord and the fact that He is love, and thus love one another as He has loved us. Love is our ultimate weapon. Love wins.

"The Strategy God Gave Me for Praying for the President" - Doug Addison THE ELIJAH LIST

April 3, 2017

"The Strategy God Gave Me for Praying for the President"by Doug Addison, Los Angeles, CA

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzI am appreciative and beyond GRATEFUL to Doug Addison for exhorting our readers to be PRAYING FOR THE PRESIDENT.

It was a grueling election season and the country remains profoundly divided because of the hard-fought battles. Now that the entire praying Church can see who the president is, it is our responsibility to pray for him.

I was soundly convicted to pray for President Obama through his presidency, according to Scripture. So that is what I did but...I must admit, the last number of months, I let up on those prayers as his term was already over, but I should not have let up at all. We still should be praying for him and his family as well!

In the same way, God has installed President Trump now as the leader of the United States for the next 4-8 years. We must keep him and his family lifted up in prayer. The mistake would be to have prayed him INTO office and yet fail to PRAY HIM THROUGH his presidency. He needs our prayers now more than ever.

But I'll let Doug Addison say it in his words here! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

"The Strategy God Gave Me for Praying for the President"by Doug Addison, Los Angeles, CA

No matter who you voted for in the U.S. elections last November, God wants us to pray for our leaders. The apostle Paul urged us to pray for leaders and he did this during a time when world leaders were not godly. God wants us to pray for leaders no matter what their political party or beliefs happen to be. We need to pray that God's will be done and not our own desires.

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIV

Pray for President Trump

I have been given a prayer assignment for President Trump and I pray intently for him and his leadership team daily. I had a prayer assignment for President Obama as well. The Bible verse mentioned above urges that we pray for leaders regardless if we agree with them or not. This is important because it allows us to hear God more clearly and align with Biblical principles that will open the heavens over us.

As the weight of the office settles on him, President Trump is under pressure and needs your prayers. He is being refined from a business leader into a President. Like many of us who have gone through promotions, he is in the "fire of the Lord" right now. Whether you agree with him or not, he needs your prayers.

Here is the prayer strategy the Lord gave me:

• Pray that God would surround the President with godly counsel and wisdom.
• Declare only those chosen by God can be placed in leadership positions.
• Ask God to speak to spouses and family members through dreams and revelations. An example of this in the Bible is when Pilate's wife had a dream that helped her husband deal with the crowd concerning Jesus (Matthew 27:19).
• Pray our leaders will call upon godly counsel to help interpret and advise.
• Declare that all demonic spirits and influences will be revealed, and the plans of the enemy will be made known.
• Ask God to bless and protect them.
• I pray this daily for the President and other leaders. I want to encourage you to come into agreement with this.

Prophetic Word for the United States

The Lord gave me this word on the morning of the election (November 8, 2016):
"O America, I still love you and see your zeal for Me. Satan has asked to sift you like wheat and the enemy has been waging war against you. But a remnant is going to arise to possess the land. Your sons and daughters are going to awaken from a sleep and rise up like a mighty army. They will be like David's mighty men (and women). Yes, women! I am moving on women in this hour. I am going to do this and it will bring about great changes that are needed for this time."

This is a time to be in the unity of the Spirit, even if we do not agree on everything in the natural (Ephesians 4:3). It is unity that will reveal and break the plans of the enemy. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

Blessings,

I Heard the Words, "No Honor, No Glory" by Paulette Reed - The Elijah List

May the Glory Fall
For weeks now a powerful phrase has kept going through my spirit over and over again. The phrase is this: No honor, no glory. I've been searching through the Word of God to more fully understand what Holy Spirit is trying to teach me, because I know that "it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter" (Proverbs 25:2). If we want to see and experience the glory of God, then we'll need to build a foundation and determine why it is that if there is no honor then there is no glory.
In 2 Chronicles 5:11-14, the glory of God falls as the priests worship in the temple:
"When the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions... and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD... then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God."
We see here that on occasion the glory of God was manifested on the earth, but throughout history it has, for the most part, been veiled. Even when Jesus came to the earth, He carried the glory but it was veiled in human flesh. However, there were – and are – times when God's glory, the shekinah glory, is revealed in a visible and tangible way. (Photo by Robert Bartow "Glory Filled the Temple" via elijahshopper.com)
The word shekinah comes from the Hebrew word shekinot, and it is used in the Bible when God would "settle in" or "dwell with" His people. This is the glory that was seen when God's presence filled the temple like a cloud. We also see this glory at the transfiguration on the Mount where Jesus shone brighter than the noonday sun as He spoke with Moses and Elijah.
God's glory falls when there is unity, when there is worship that glorifies or honors God, and when all things are lined up with the Kingdom of God.
What Is Honor?
Since we are each a temple of the Holy Spirit, it is so crucial to worship and honor the Lord with our lives and thus fill the earth with His glory. But what is honor? As a noun, honor means "esteem, value, or great respect." In the Bible, to honor someone is to value him or her highly. We are told to express honor and esteem to certain people, such as our parents, the aged, as well as those who are in authority (see Ephesians 6:2; Leviticus 19:32; Romans 13:1). But, at the same time, we must understand that all authority and honor belong to God alone (see 1 Chronicles 29:11; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 5:13).
Even though God can delegate His authority to others, it still only belongs to Him (see Ephesians 4:11-12). This means that when we honor someone, because God has commanded us to do so and because we want to, we're really honoring God.
Honor in the New Testament is the Greek word time (tee-may), the literal definition being "a valuing," or something that is attributed as valuable, precious, and weighty, much like gold or precious stones. Even though honor can be displayed as actions, words, or thoughts, all true honor originates from the heart.
In Isaiah 29:13 the Lord says, "These people say they are Mine. They honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. And their worship of Me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote."
It looks like honor, sounds like honor, but it's not true honor – at least not how God defines it. Honor is simply the overflow of the reverential fear of God springing forth in our hearts. (Photo via Pixabay)
The Bible talks about a noteworthy group of people who are deserving of "double honor," which are the leadership of the Church. First Timothy 5:17says, "Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching." Not only do we attribute double honor to Church leaders, but we see that the Word gives us the command to honor one another in our marketplace relationships too (see 1 Timothy 3:1-7; 6:1; Ephesians 6:5-9), and of course in the marriage relationship between husbands and wives (see Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:23-33).
Of all the commands to honor one another, the one repeated most often pertains to honoring one's father and mother (see Exodus 20:12; Matthew 15:4). This command was so important to God that if anyone cursed or struck one of his or her parents, then they were to be put to death (see Exodus 21:15, 17).
To Honor Is to Love
The word love is sometimes used synonymously for honor. Paul commands us to "be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves" (Romans 12:10). Honoring others above ourselves goes against our basic human instinct. It is only by walking humbly by the power of the Holy Spirit that we can esteem and honor fellow people more highly than ourselves (Romans 12:3; Philippians 2:3). (Photo via Pixabay)
The book of Proverbs illustrates how our behavior results in honor. Proverbs 21:21 says, "Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." Let's remember that honor as taught in the Scriptures is far different from the type of honor sought after by the world today. Honor and awards are frequently given to those with wealth, clout, worldly power, and celebrity status. Those who thrive on worldly honor are actually in a precarious place, because "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5).
We never want to be like the Pharisees who sought after honor from others, because Jesus totally rejected that type of behavior. He said, "Everything they do is done for people to see" (Matthew 23:5), and he not only labeled them as hypocrites but "snakes" and "vipers" too (Matthew 23:29-33).
The bottom line is that all of Heaven raises its voice in honor and praise to God, and we are instructed to do likewise: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being" (Revelation 4:11).

What Happens When We Honor?
In 2 John 8 we learn that our full reward from the Lord is consequential. It says, "Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward." I don't know about you, but I want a full reward, not just a partial one.
Mark tells us of some folks who made bad choices and who did not receive their full reward:
"Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown; and His disciples followed Him. When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, 'Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?' And they took offense at Him.
"Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.' And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He wondered at their unbelief" (Mark 6:1-6).
This is the very Son of God! He could do no miracles in His hometown because of the people's unbelief, which ultimately resulted because of their lack of honoring Him. Do you see the power of dishonor at work here? Isaiah had prophesied that the government would rest upon the shoulders of this Prophet, and that His Kingdom would have no end.
The people of the day assumed that the Messiah was to deliver everyone from Roman oppression, and when Jesus didn't line up with the image they had in their minds, they became offended with Him and familiarity moved in. Jesus became just a carpenter to many: "Hey, isn't that the carpenter? Didn't he build the picnic table out back?" (Photo by Kevin Moffatt "Come Out!" via elijahshopper.com)
The people did not receive Christ's full reward because they did not honor Him. And because of that, He left and went on to another place. It has been said that familiarity breeds contempt, which could also be stated as familiarity leads to dishonor. The better we know someone, the more likely we are to find fault with him or her. If we know an individual well enough, it is easy to stop respecting them, which is exactly what happened in Jesus' hometown. Because of familiarity, they did not respect Him as a prophet, and therefore He couldn't do any miracles there.
We need to be careful not to engage in familiarity in any arena of our life. We can't become too familiar with those who teach the Word of God ("He no longer impresses me"), with the message of the Word of God itself ("I've heard that so many times before; I already know that"), or that we just no longer appreciate the significance of the Word of God ("I'm just not getting fed anymore").
If we do this, we may cut ourselves off from a powerful message, we may cut ourselves off from miracles (Jesus only healed a few), and, worst of all, Jesus might leave. Because of contempt and dishonor, we can lose access to receiving the full blessings of Christ.
Whom Do We Honor?
Let's look one more time at how we are to honor. Jesus told His disciples, "I tell you, you will not see Me again until you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord'" (Luke 13:35 NIV). And again He said, "He who receives (honors) whomever I send receives (honors) Me; and he who receives (honors) Me receives (honors) Him (the Father) who sent Me" (John 13:20 NKJV). (Photo by Donna Smallenberg "Out of the Darkness" via elijahshopper.com)
When we expound on these Scriptures and replace the word "receives" with "honors," the message becomes clear. First and foremost, we are to honor God. And we are also to honor "those whom He sends." Everyone and everything else that we honor will flow from us as vessels of honor. Paul wrote to Timothy: "If anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work" (2 Timothy 2:21).
Visualize yourself and others as the finest and most exquisite vessels of china in the entire world. Would you fill those vessels with trash? Of course not. And neither would the Lord. In order to be filled with the glory of God, we must learn to express honor from the depths of our hearts. We desperately need the glory, as it eclipses everything – there's no cancer in the glory, no slander, no poverty, and no sin. But we must remember that if there is no honor, then there will be no glory.

COMMENTARY: Why Aren’t We One, As Yeshua Prayed? - Brian Hennessy ISRAEL TODAY

COMMENTARY: Why Aren’t We One, As Yeshua Prayed?

Monday, November 23, 2015 |  Brian Hennessy  ISRAEL TODAY
Just before his death, Yeshua prayed for all those who would become his followers, “Father, may they all be one, even as You, Father, are in me and I in You…so that the world may believe you sent me” (John 17:21).
However, according to official estimates there are now around 40,000 Christian denominations in the world, with the Catholic Church being by far the largest. It has become painfully obvious to all that this often boisterous disunity in the body of Messiah has presented a flawed testimony to our gospel of love and truth. As a result, all sorts of ecumenical discussions have transpired in recent decades to try and put Humpty-Dumpty together again.
All I can say is God help us if they ever do (and they might). Not only would it be declaring the Reformation a mistake, but staring back at us would be the same monolithic, intolerant, ecclesiastical power that dominated the Western World for over a thousand years. The one which brought us such loving ministries as the Inquisition and the Crusades. So even if the Church does manage to solve its unity problem (at least on the surface), it would hardly convince the world the Father had sent Yeshua. Least of all the Jews, who probably suffered the most from our ‘togetherness.’
The problem is that the Jews are the one people upon whom our unity most depends. But they have been historically excluded from ever being majorly included by Replacement Theology. After all, when Yeshua prayed his prayer of unity the Church was 100% Jewish. At the time, only he understood there’d be a lot of folks coming in after he left who wouldn’t be Jewish. He tried to prepare his little flock that some outsiders “would hear My voice also, and [you’d all] become one flock with one Shepherd” (John 10:10). But even Yeshua’s heads-up couldn’t numb their shock when the new sheep joining the fold turned out to be – ugh – uncircumcised goyiim.
At first, it was thought the best way to clean up these unsavory new sheep was to apply circumcision, not understanding yet that the circumcised heart was all that was required under Israel’s new Covenant. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit vetoed that approach at the Council of Jerusalem. Our oneness would now be based on faith alone. But no sooner had we begun moving towards unity when Rome threw everybody out of the country. And everything was put on hold for some two thousand years.
That separation, of course, gave God time to find all those missing descendants of Abraham scattered among the nations whom He’d marked for salvation. But instead of all those new believers remaining as one body with one head, Yeshua, each functioning in their place in the power of the Holy Spirit, we turned it into 40,000 disconnected, squabbling organizations with multiple heads. Perhaps the one thing that united the Church most was its profound dislike for all things Jewish.
In the world’s sight, these two peoples called to proclaim the one true God appeared to have nothing in common. The Jews became the most despised and persecuted people on earth. And the Church a kaleidoscope of unfathomable theologies and diverse worship practices. Jeremiah’s words could not be more fitting: “Have you not observed what this people have spoken, saying, ‘The two families which the Lord chose, He has rejected them? Thus they despise My people, no longer are they as a nation in their sight” (Jer. 33:24).
But in spite of our continued separation we can be certain our Father heard Yeshua’s prayer and has every intention of answering it. Above all else, He wants the world to know His Son is who he said he was.
Furthermore, I‘m convinced this coming together of Christians and Jews in our day under the banner of Zionism is God at long last starting to make us His “one new man” in Yeshua. And when our true unity in Messiah is complete, I believe Yeshua will be gloriously revealed to the world in a way we could have never imagined.
And the best news is – “none will be missing!” (Jer. 23:4; John 6:39).

GLORY MANIFESTED - Morris E. Ruddick

GLORY MANIFESTED

(c) Morris E. Ruddick

"The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one." John 17:22-23

This segment of Jesus' high priestly prayer taps a very key aspect of walking out a call of God: abiding in Him.

While some conclude from these verses to make unity the goal, unity is not the goal, but rather the fruit. Unity will be the fruit of abiding. It likewise is not a conformity type of unity, but rather being so in-sync with the Lord and His heart, that those truly abiding in Him will simply be on the same page within the individuality of their spheres and callings.
"In that day you will know that I am in My Father and you in me and I in you."
John 14:19

As a young disciple, one of my two primary mentors shared about a time when he was a part of a camp meeting retreat. As those attending the gathering sought the Lord, he recounted how there came a tangible consciousness of God's presence. As they continued seeking Him, he described something as like a smoke that descended on them which brought an even greater awareness of God's presence.

For three days, this holy presence was so strong that the only thing anyone wanted was to bask in His presence. What had been scheduled, comparatively, no longer had any significance.
"The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter." Rev 15:8

What took place was a manifestation of God's glory, triggered by hungry hearts, in unison, from steadfastly seeking Him. The need is to bring this consciousness of His presence into our everyday lives.

The influence of this mentor's passion resonated deeply with us, as my wife and I had come to faith as a result of a very real and insatiable spiritual hunger that pervaded our workplaces and neighborhoods. It was during the early days of the Charismatic revival.

Everyone was talking about Jesus and the Holy Spirit. People would spontaneously gather together just to pray and seek God. Those affected were acutely aware of what they were hearing from God. The miraculous became commonplace. Many experienced dramatic and life-changing answers to prayer. It was a time of abandoning yourself to God. Nothing carried any greater priority.
"The house of the LORD was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God."
2 Chron 5:13-14

These times describe when the glory manifests and is imparted, as in John 17 Jesus imparted the glory He had received to His disciples. Such times trigger God-directed change and the restoration of truths and mysteries that have been squeezed out by the cares of life and the religious precepts of men.

Abiding in Him overcomes the seductions of worldly cares and the precepts of men. Abiding in Him and being stewards of His glory carries a cost with parameters that open the path into the supernatural, into the realm of angels and His presence.

The Parameters
Jesus warned that wielding this power would not only impact the spiritual climate, but would bring tribulation. David understood this.
"Many are they who say of me, "There is no help for him in God." But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head." Psalm 3:3

Becoming the source of changing the spiritual climate requires more than zeal to weather the opposition and backlash, which can, in the natural, seem impossible. Yet, that is just the point. With God, in Him all things are possible. The pathway in which His glory manifests was described by Jesus as narrow and difficult.

This pathway is the foundation for the mandate for change and restoration for this hour. It requires consistent spiritual maintenance, the continual renewal of our mind-sets, operating beyond ourselves, producing fruit that abides and tapping the generational bridges.

Spiritual Maintenance. Abiding is a lifetime process. Spiritual maintenance of personal prayer and a consistent washing of God's word must be an ongoing priority. It requires discipline and it requires sacrifice.

Personal maintenance will be found to be progressive, with its intensity directly linked to one's spiritual maturity. One's spiritual maturity will be demonstrated by the fruit. The fruit will be evidenced by the level of change being wielded by the mantle.

Regular, personal, quality time with the Lord is not an option. Jesus spent entire nights alone in prayer. Many stress the importance of a well-organized prayer-shield. I don't disagree. However, the Lord once let me know that regardless of the number of prayers I mobilize through others, that my exploits would never exceed the level represented by my own prayers. A prayer-shield serves to augment this baseline.

Renewed Mind-Sets. Consistent time with the Lord influences our thinking. We need our thinking and attitudes constantly renewed and aligned according to God's heart and priorities. Our thinking determines how we believe and how we act in faith.

Mind-sets go deep. While they include our attitudes, which are the determinants of our behavior, they go beyond our attitudes. They also include the often very subtle cultural predispositions that the Bible refers to as iniquities. The input from the world pollutes our thinking and cultural tendencies,

True people of faith do not conform to the world's way of thinking or doing. One of the biggest challenges God's people have faced over the centuries has been the lure to be like everyone else, to be accepted. One of the first premises of leadership is that real leadership can never be achieved through acceptance or being liked. Leadership has its foundations in honor, trust and respect.

Our identities in God are distinctive. We are called to be leaders, each within our own spheres. The word of God tells us that we have been chosen to demonstrate God's reality. That's the first order of things. It requires mind-sets aligned with God's. That forms the basis of one's calling in God.

Beyond Ourselves. In the final analysis, it is not about us. That's why we need our mind-sets continually being renewed. Piercing the veil beyond self is the place Jesus sought for His disciples. For Peter, it took a final word from the Lord after Jesus' resurrection for Peter to begin walking in that place that the Lord saw in Peter when He first met him and discerned His destiny.

Years ago, during a time alone seeking the Lord, the Lord told me: "Morris, you're too introspective." What the Lord was telling me had nothing to do with getting our attitudes in line with His truth and priorities. Instead it gave focus to a Western mantra of self-improvement that goes beyond this level of alignment. Being too introspective can become a fine-line distraction and illusion that distorts the balance of our callings. Walking out a call of God requires humility.

Humility is the recognition that we can't, but He can. Humility is a constant dependence on Him. Humility is the realization that a significant part of the "cleanup" is God's prevue and our response needs to faithfully hold fast to Him, seeking Him and being "doers of the word." It's learning to walk with God with a purity of heart that is beyond ourselves.

Business people tend to be doers. For those with callings like Joseph and Daniel and Peter, it means piercing the veil and flowing in a place beyond our human capabilities. It's not what we can do for God, but rather what we allow the Lord to do through us. That's the essence of the greater sacrificial love that Jesus modeled.

Fruit that Abides. Jesus made it very clear that we would be known, not by our activity, but by the fruits from our activity.

Bearing fruit is a strong part of Jesus' message. It is the result of flowing in the Spirit according to our gifts. Bearing fruit that remains transfers the anointing and calling to those being ministered to.

The glory will come when we are abiding and consistently finding our life-source in Him. Bearing fruit that abides will come from our lives operating in that place beyond ourselves, in Him.
"If you abide in Me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you will and it will be done for you." John 15:7

The Generational Bridge. Among the mysteries being restored in this day is the generational bridge. The generational bridge is more than mentoring and passing the baton to the next generation, although that is certainly an important part. The generational bridge involves mantles, the callings that transcend that of an individual and are sparked and fulfilled through generational bridges.

Joseph the Patriarch was the fourth generation from His great-grandfather Abraham. From the promises and mantle given to His great-grandfather, Joseph not only brought an incredible fullness to this mantle, but he set the stage for what would be the next generational bridge, the alignment of which would be actuated by Moses.

We have reached a time in which there has come a convergence that is beyond the current generation. We catch a glimmer of this convergence from the description in Hebrews of the great cloud of witnesses.

It is a time when not only do generations pave the way for one another, but there is an added dimension where anointed members of connecting generations are working together and bringing a dimension seldom seen operating in days past. In short, it is a time when the anointings of Abrahams, Isaacs and Jacobs begin operating together and sparking new dimensions. As we abide in Him and apply the parameters of this pathway, these connected anointings will serve as three-fold cords that trigger supernatural change and restoration.

The Mandate for Change and Restoration
Jesus came to raise the standard. He raised the bar. He reset the spiritual default to conform to God's heart and priorities. Resetting priorities in this way releases the mantle of fire of God's glory to bring change and restoration.
"He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him." John 7:18

With the glory Jesus imparted to His followers came the authority to reestablish God's order in the midst of a world masked and ruled by disorder.
"I came to bring fire to the earth and how I wish it were already kindled, but I have a baptism to be baptized with and how distressed I am until it is accomplished."
Luke 12:49-50

The fire that Jesus had kindled manifested significantly following the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Scripture describes it as a time when great fear (of God) came upon all the church and to as many who were exposed to and were hearing about the supernatural manifestations happening. It was a time marked by the consciousness of His presence in everyday life.

Simultaneously, it was a time of great spiritual backlash. Stephen and John's brother James were martyred. Peter was imprisoned, yet was supernaturally delivered as the saints faithfully prayed. Angelic manifestations and miracles were common.
"Now the angel of the Lord stood by him and a light shown in the prison and the chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, follow me. So he followed him, but did not know that what the angel was doing was real. When they were past the first and second guard posts they came to the iron gate, that leads to the city, which opened of its own accord and immediately the angel departed from him." Acts 12: 7-10

Change and amazing things will result when God's glory manifests. It incorporates the power that defeated death and the grave. It brings change that aligns and restores God's ancient truths and covenants with Abraham, Moses and David.
"Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads and look. Then ask for the ancient paths where the good way lies. Then walk in it and you will find rest for your souls." Jer 6:16

Getting the abiding factor and priorities right sets the stage for the glory to manifest. It is the foundation for the authority needed to bring change and restoration.
"The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works." John 14:10

It is the fine line of our walk with Him for this hour.
"So, open the gates, so that all who are righteous may enter, those who have remained faithful. The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. For in You we have an everlasting Rock. The way of the righteous is level and smooth. O Upright One, make the path of the righteous straight. While following the way of your judgments, we have eagerly waited for You. At night my soul longs for You. Indeed my spirit seeks you diligently. For when the earth experiences Your judgments, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness." Isa 26:2-3, 7-10
