Paris Answer to Prayer - Charles Gardner ISRAEL TODAY

Paris Answer to Prayer

Wednesday, January 18, 2017 |  Charles Gardner  ISRAEL TODAY
Britain’s change of heart over their Israel policy is a welcome answer to prayer, and goes some way to make amends for their shameful betrayal when voting for the recent UN resolution aimed at delegitimizing the Jewish state.
But their refusal to sign the Paris ‘peace conference’ communiqué is nevertheless a contradiction, reflecting the moral confusion of a government no longer recognizing right from wrong.
“There are risks,” the UK government warned, “that this conference hardens positions at a time when we need to be encouraging the conditions for peace.”[1]
Thankfully, the Paris meeting merely re-stated the oft-repeated position of most nations, calling on Israel and the Palestinians to renew their commitment to a ‘two-state solution’, whereas it was expected to try to impose a settlement on the protagonists despite their absence from the proceedings, derided by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu as “futile” and described by Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emanuel Nahshon as “flat as a failed soufflé”.[2]
Indeed, hard-earned taxpayers’ money will have funded a luxury weekend jaunt for diplomats from the 70 participating countries just to read a script.
A hundred years ago, when Britain pledged their support for Jewish repatriation in their ancient homeland through the Balfour Declaration, many of the Cabinet looked to the Bible for guidance. They were, after all, evangelical Christians.
Now most of our politicians choose instead to consult the Politically-Correct Dictionary. On this occasion, however, they have changed their tune which many believers put down to divine intervention in the form of answered prayer.
Tragically, the same government we expect to honour Israel (for biblical reasons as much as anything else) and do right by other nations passes laws approving wholly inappropriate behaviour between members of the same sex and then disapproves of those, like Christians, who refuse to hold that view because it is plainly wrong and against the teachings of the Bible.
Dame Louise Casey, for example, in addressing a parliamentary committee on the findings of the Trojan Horse scandal (exposing radicalization within certain Muslim schools), suggested that Christian schools may also be targeted for their teaching of biblical views on sexuality.
She said the issues raised by Trojan Horse were “not okay, in the same way that it is not okay for Catholic schools to be homophobic and anti-gay marriage.”[3]
Equally absurd at a time when the National Health Service has been in the headlines for being in a state of virtual collapse amid huge demands in the face of lack of staff, facilities and finance, we hear of a completely unnecessary operation they are funding at a cost of around £29,000.
A 20-year-old woman who has been living as a man has become the UK’s first ‘transgender’ individual to become pregnant. She has been taking male hormones, but decided to postpone surgery to have her breasts and ovaries removed so that she could give birth, and duly became pregnant after finding a sperm donor through a Facebook group.[4]
What incredibly warped, upside-down, thinking drives our leaders these days? But this is what the Bible says: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5.20)
It’s time to awake from our spiritual slumber.

While the world plots to divide Israel in favor of the nation's Palestinian Muslim neighbors, a few countries over, one man did something shocking.
Marwan, a Muslim, wanted to send a strong message to his Christian counterparts. The Islamic State had destroyed his icons as well as the Christian churches during its reign of terror in Mosul.
ISIS tore down icons, statues, crosses and more, essentially telling believers, "Leave or die." Followers of Jesus were no longer welcome in one of the oldest Christian cities.
Marwan says the Islamic State was wrong. He decided to step in and do something about it. Instead of ransacking the already-destroyed churches, he built a cross.

Today's Israel Inspiration

One of the most important ingredients used by the priests in the rituals of the Tabernacle and the first and second Holy Temples was the purified olive oil. Not only did the oil accompany many of the sacrifices, but it was also used in the daily lighting of the menorah. One of the seven holy species of the Land of Israel, as seen in the Bible
("A land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates; a land of olive-trees and honey" -Deuteronomy 8:8), the olive is a precious resource and even today can be seen growing all over the Holy Land as God promised. Over the last two years of operating out of their fields in Yavne'el, Galilee Green has produced the finest olive oil, shipping it from the Holy Land to consumers all over the world, eager for a taste of the pure oil. Rabbi Shmuel and Chana Veffer, the faces behind Galilee Green, are proud to announce they have produced the very olive oil used in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem according to Biblical specifications. Only 700 tins of this special oil are available, so get yours today while supplies last!

Olive Oil Made for the Holy Temple Menorah

This year, Galilee Green conducted a unique joint project with the Mikdash Educational Center in Jerusalem and the Meshek Achia Olive Press on the outskirts of the biblical town of Shiloh in Samaria.

Prepare for the Third Temple Ritual With Holy-Land Made Olive Oil

Everyone involved in the oil production and distribution pray for the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s Third Holy Temple “speedily in our days.” When the Temple is rebuilt, those who already have this oil have the opportunity to be first to use it to create a sacrificial meal offering to God.

Trusting God While Waiting When Everyone Says, 'Do Something' - MARLO SCHALESKY CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Waiting. I've never been a fan. But it seems I have a Ph.D. in the art. Waiting for the results of infertility treatments, waiting for an offer for a job, waiting for a change in a relationship, waiting for a change in life.
And recently, waiting for test results that could mean cancer or mean nothing. Once again, I was in the waiting place, and while there, I wrote this:
I find myself here again, in this waiting place. The place where I know God is sovereign. I know He holds my life in His hands. I know He is there. I know He cares. I know the very hairs on my head are numbered ... as are my days.
And yet there is a knot in my stomach, and my eyes flicker to the phone. Again. And again. It does not ring. Not yet. Of course, not yet.
But I watch anyway. I swallow. And remind myself of all the things I already know.
- "Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?" (Matt. 6:27/Luke 12:25, NLT).
- "Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself"(Matt. 6:34, NIV).
And my glance skitters to the phone again.
Today I had my yearly mammogram and screening. Today they found something on my right side. Today could be the first day of a very painful journey.
But I don't know yet. I am stuck here, in between.
It's the not knowing that twists through my soul. It's the not being able to move forward. Not being able to move back. Trust is harder in the waiting place.
So I watch the phone, even though I know the radiologist probably hasn't even looked at the scans. Even though I know it is too soon. Even though, if she calls, it will only be to bring me in for more tests.
I hate waiting.
But it's not a choice.
It's something that's thrust upon you.
And still I wait. ... I drown in the waiting.
God, you were with me in the past. You will be with me no matter the future.
Are you here, too, in the waiting place?
The test results came back as benign. But even if they had not, I've found that waiting is often the hardest part of a journey because we feel a unique kind of fear, of dread, in the waiting place. We sense that nothing is in our control. We cannot just "do something." We can't fix it. There is no plan to foster hope, no to-do list to get us out. We don't know when change will come, and deep inside we carry the fear that we may be stuck forever in the awkward, painful in-between.
I have a friend who is getting divorced. For two years she's been in proceedings, and nothing is yet settled. "Divorce is awful," she says. "But the waiting to get divorced is even worse. I can't make plans. I can't move on. I can't even start to heal."
That is the struggle of the waiting place. It is the fight against fear, against despair. It is the fight to remember the promises of God when they aren't getting any nearer.
Who's in Charge
When we're feeling stuck in the waiting place, our culture says, "Get out of that rut! Life's too short. Stop the excuses. Do something." In the Huffington Post, you can find 13 inspirational quotes for when you're stuck in a rut. You'll be told to smile more, care less, be happy, and think good thoughts.1 Elsewhere, you might find thirty quotes that will "most certainly get you out of any rut," where you can read that you need to rise up and attack your day, and never give up.2
Good advice, but sometimes change is outside our control. Sometimes we're not in charge. Sometimes we're stuck, just like Abram and Sarai were in Haran. On their way to the promised land, Genesis 11:31 tells us, " Terah took his son Abram .. and his daughter-in-law, Sarai ... and they went out together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan; but when they came to Harran, they settled there." Haran wasn't the promised land. But because of Terah, they got stuck there anyway, and Sarai didn't have the power to choose to continue the journey. God had to remove a barrier before she could move forward. In their case, Terah himself had to die.

If you thought Jewish “settlements” were an obstacle to peace, you’re about to be proven wrong - Israel Video Network

daily israel update banner 2
Jewish settlements-

Though there are many who would shout in defiance at such a statement, there is really no such thing as a “Palestinian” people. In fact, the term is a relatively new invention – intended as a tool to advance the destruction of Israel.
Think I’m making this up?
The so-called “Palestinians” were referred to as simply “Arabs” until 1967. The name was created by Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat under the guidance of Russian propagandists in the KGB.
This means the very “reason” so much of the world hates Israel is based on a lie.
