The International Community and the

By Caroline Glick
It should be an embarrassment to the New York Times and its colleagues that they have refused to report why Haley and Trump are demonstrably right to stand alone and why Obama was catastrophically wrong to believe that the US should stand with the “international community” against itself.

This song was originally written by Chris Eaton, but Amy Grant wanted to record it and asked Chris if she could rewrite some of the lyrics from a woman's perspective, namely Mary. Chris agreed. So this is Amy's version. The images are from the wonderful movie "Nativity Story"; if you have not seen it, do it, whether it's Christmastime or not.

Netanyahu, Jerusalem Mayor Thank Trump, Haley for Stand on Jerusalem - CBN News Julie Stahl

Netanyahu, Jerusalem Mayor Thank Trump, Haley for Stand on Jerusalem

CBN News Julie Stahl
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the United Nations a “House of Lies” on Thursday and thanked President Trump and the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley for their stand on Jerusalem.
“Jerusalem is the capital of Israel whether the UN recognizes it or not,” Netanyahu said during a ceremony to dedicate the new Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod.
“It took 70 years for the US to officially recognize it and it will take more years until the UN also recognizes it,” Netanyahu said of President Trump’s recent declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
“Attitudes toward Israel by many countries in the world, on all continents, are changing outside the walls of the UN and in the end will percolate inside the walls of the UN building – the house of lies,” he said.
The US vetoed a UN Security Council draft resolution earlier this week, which called on Trump to withdraw his recognition of Jerusalem as the capital.  The move prompted a General Assembly vote to the same affect. It’s due to take place on Thursday.
Ahead of the vote, Netanyahu rejected the results.
“The State of Israel flatly rejects this vote even before it is held. Jerusalem is our capital. We will continue to build in it and foreign embassies, led by the US embassy, will move to Jerusalem. It will happen,” he said.
He thanked Trump and Haley “for standing up for Israel and for standing up for the truth.” Ultimately the truth will prevail."
Earlier, Netanyahu released a video thanking Haley and saying that she had spoken at the UN like a Maccabee – the famed Jewish fighters who revolted against the Selucid Empire raining in the Holy Land by refusing to worship Greek gods. According to tradition, when they liberated the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, there was only enough oil to burn in the Menorah for one day but it lasted for eight.
“You lit a candle of truth.  You dispelled the darkness.  One defeated the many.  Truth defeated lies,” he said.
Along the same lines, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat released a video on Thursday also thanking Trump and Haley.
In it he visits various archaeological sites in the city like the ancient City of David and the Pool of Siloam pointing out the Jewish history in the city.
“Anywhere you put a shovel in the ground, you find Jewish roots,” Barkat said.
“We're now uncovering the very stones where kings and prophets walked 3,000 years ago,” he said. “The UN cannot deny these facts on the ground.”
Barkat pointed out that under Israeli sovereignty there’s freedom of religion in the city.
“For a full thousand years Jerusalem was the center of the world and now we're back here to connect to our roots and look into our future,” he said.
“I want to thank President Trump for his leadership and recognizing that Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish people and the state of Israel.  I also want to commend, and thank you Ambassador Haley for standing up for us in the UN.  God bless you.”

UN Condemns US on Jerusalem, Haley Tells Nations 'We Will Remember' This - CBN News Jennifer Wishon

UN Condemns US on Jerusalem, Haley Tells Nations 'We Will Remember' This
Dec. 21, 2017 CBN News Jennifer Wishon
The United Nations General Assembly today approved a resolution 128 to 9 calling President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and plans to move the U.S. embassy there “null and void” — however, it does nothing to change U.S. plans.
The vote comes after U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned member nations she would be “taking names” of those who vote against the United States.
President Trump took it a step further by threatening to cut off U.S. funding to the U.N. The United States is the largest contributor to the international body.
“This is bullying,” said the ambassador from Turkey adding, the “dignity of member states is not for sale."
Ambassador Haley told the body that the U.S. feeds, clothes and educates desperate people while nurturing and sustaining peace in fragile places throughout the world because it’s a reflection of American values. However, she said, when the U.S. makes generous contributions to the U.N. and the world we expect that goodwill to be respected.
“We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world's largest contribution to the United Nations. And we will remember it when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit," she said.
President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the U.S. embassy there is a reflection of U.S. law dating back to 1995, she said.
“America will put our embassy in Jerusalem. That is what the American people want us to do and it’s the right thing to do,” she added.
“This vote,” she said, “will change the way Americans look at the U.N.”
The Israeli ambassador followed Haley at the podium and called out the hypocrisy of the U.N. He asked why there was no resolution condemning Arab nations for calling for “days of rage” and violence following President Trump’s announcement.
“Those who support today’s resolutions are like puppets pulled by the puppet strings of your Palestinian puppet masters,” he said calling them “blind to the light” and “unaware of the manipulation surrounding you”.
Despite countries calling for support of the Palestinians, the Israeli ambassador pointed out that the resolution will do nothing to give Palestinians the real help they need like jobs.
Other countries that took the podium to speak out against the U.S. and Israel include Iran, China and Venezuela.
