Are Recent Events in Syria Setting the Stage for Biblical Armageddon?

With all the events taking place in Syria right now, many people are asking, "What does the Bible have to say about Syria and the end times?

Is this the beginning of World War III and Armageddon?" Those are legitimate questions, but let me assure you, this is not the end. How can I be so sure?

Because the Bible says Armageddon takes place at the end of the seven year Tribulation (Revelation 16:16), and the Tribulation has yet to begin.

That said, I believe recent events in Syria have great significance when it comes to the study of bible prophecy.

This doesn't mean you're guaranteed to see the immediate fulfillment of any specific bible prophecy. However, it does mean you should pay close attention.

Why? Because, at the very least, these events are setting the table for the fulfillment of multiple bible prophecies.

Israel Remembers Her Fallen, Then Celebrates Their Victory

It's that time of year again.

This morning, Wednesday, April 18, air raid sirens blared all across the Land of Israel. Not because we were under attack, but rather as a call to remembrance for the 23,646 soldiers and 3,134 terror victims who have fallen in Israel's wars and various conflicts.

Nearly every Israeli stopped whatever he or she was doing, even if driving on the highway, and stood solemnly as the two-minute siren wailed.

And, just as every year, the tremendous sadness we are feeling today over the loss of loved ones will give birth to explosive celebration this evening as we celebrate the victory that their sacrifices have made possible.

Israel this year celebrates 70 years of its modern independence. That's not a thing to take lightly.

Israel's history is long, nearly 3,500 years. But so much of that time has been spent in exile. For the third time in her history, Israel is a sovereign, independent state, and she's doing her best to make the most of every minute.

Who knows where Israel will be 70 years from now. But, if her stunning development and growth over the past 70 years is any indication, then the sky's the limit.

Happy Birthday, Israel!

Many of you feel like you have so many dreams, but they're stuck. But the Lord would say, "I am in a season where I'm bringing suddenlies to pass. I'm in a season of acceleration."

And you would say, "But, Lord, I don't feel the acceleration."

The Lord would say to you, "Trust Me in that, for if you will begin to dream again, and if you would begin one by one by one, to decree: 'My provision is coming, my dream is coming, and the money I need for my capital for my business is coming.'"

The Lord says, "You must understand that there are powers of darkness in the heavens that do not want your blessings to come. So, begin to decree. Get up in the throne room, and speak the decrees, and you will begin to see things shaken loose. You will begin to see the change has come, and you will begin to see the blessings flow," says the Lord.

So don't be discouraged, but understand, as you begin to decree from the heavens down, so it shall be.

How 'I Can Only Imagine' Film Producer Goes Beyond Movie to Make Impact in Churches

The production company behind the hit film "I Can Only Imagine" created a 12-part Bible series that explores hope, healing, and forgiveness.

Tony Young, president of City on a Hill, is the executive producer of the film and its initial investor. He's partnered with Erwin Brothers Entertainment and Bart Millard to make a 12-week Bible study series based on the film available to churches.

The film chronicles the real-life story of MercyMe's frontman Bart Millard and his journey to forgive his abusive father. The movie has grossed more than $75 million worldwide and with only a $7 million production budget, it is considered one of the most profitable films this year.

It beat out Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time" despite showing in half as many theatres and it brought in $17 million during opening weekend.

The Louisville, Kentucky based Christian multimedia company is putting out a call to church leaders to use the film as a tool to help their congregations.

"Using Bart Millard's story of pain redeemed, brokenness restored, and God glorified, you can guide your church to recall their past wounds, reorient their present identity, and reimagine their future," reads the City on a Hill website.

The Bible study kit includes six sermons, a leader's guide, a video series featuring Bart Millard, and a journal.

Keith Loy, Senior Founding Pastor of Celebrate Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD is using the kit at his church.

"It's such a cool privilege to partner with John and Andy Erwin, Kevin Downes and all the films that have been coming out," he said. "And specifically with these guys because they are committed to serving the local church."
