A History Review

Psalm 105 reviews the early history of the People of Israel, from the promise to give the Land of Israel to Avraham (Abraham) and his descendants through the exodus from Egypt. It is framed as a praise to Hashem, and the first twelve verses express gratitude to God for all His wonders, His miracles, and bestowing the land to the Children of Avraham as an inheritance. After a detailed account of the plagues and emergence from Egypt, the final verses remind us of the reason why the Land of Israel was given to the Children of Israel: So that the Nation of Israel will observe Hashem's laws and protect His holy Torah  (Bible).

Did a Leading Pastor Give a Prophetic Warning About Trump's Monday From Hell? - MICHAEL BROWN CHARISMA NEWS

John Kilpatrick
John Kilpatrick (New Jerusalem/YouTube)
This past Monday marked one of the most difficult days in the presidency of Donald Trump. Paul Manafort was convicted. Michael Cohen was convicted. Worse still, Cohen claimed that Trump was complicit with him in committing federal crimes.
Cries for impeachment were never louder. The liberal media was positively giddy. The radical leftwing was totally unhinged. This will be the end of Trump's presidency!
In reality, there's substantial debate as to whether Trump committed any crimes, even if Cohen was telling the truth. And in the days that followed, some liberal leaders, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, backed away from impeachment calls.
But there's no doubt that this hellish Monday will haunt the president in the days to come. The question is: Did a prominent evangelical pastor predict this was coming just the day before?
John Kilpatrick came to national prominence as the pastoral leader of the Brownsville Revival (1995-2000), called by some church historians the nation's largest local-church revival. I served in leadership with Pastor Kilpatrick from 1996-2000 as the head of our ministry school, and I know him to be a man of integrity. So this video clip got my attention when I saw it a few days ago.
He had finished preaching his sermon on Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Church of His Presence in Alabama, when he shared this important message. Was it a direct warning about what broke loose the very next day?
For those unfamiliar with biblical imagery, Ahab and Jezebel were notorious leaders in ancient Israel, Ahab the king and Jezebel the queen. But it was Jezebel who was more sinister, the driving force behind her husband's sins.
It was Jezebel who killed Israel's prophets, recognizing them as a direct threat to her authority, since she herself was a non-Israelite idol worshiper. And it is this Jezebel-type influence that John Kilpatrick calls "witchcraft."
This is the biblical imagery used by Pastor Kilpatrick, who spoke of a new wave of attacks coming against the president as he sought to drain the swamp. Is this a genuine prophetic warning, accompanied by an urgent call to prayer? Watch, and judge for yourself.
Whatever your conclusion and whatever your view of the president, I hope we can agree that, at a time like this, the president and our nation need our prayers.
Watch here.

5 Must-See Christian Movies Coming Out This Fall - CBN News Lindsay Elizabeth

5 Must-See Christian Movies Coming Out This Fall
08-25-2018

CBN News Lindsay Elizabeth

Faith-based films have seen wide success over the past couple of years, and the entertainment industry
is taking note, with many new faith-based films set to release this fall. The focus seems to be on
spiritual life abroad, with stories of missionary families, military life, and a well-known global
evangelist.

In March the Christian film “I Can Only Imagine” shocked many when it brought in $17.1 million
during its opening weekend, and then another $83 million in total. Another Christian film, “Paul,
Apostle of Christ,”featuring Jim Caviezel, also came out in March, placing among the top 10 films
during its opening weekend.

Here is a list of five faith-based films to look out for this fall:
“GOD BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD”

This film tells the story of a young widow who struggles to keep her relationship with God after her
husband is killed in combat in Afganistan. The film was directed by “God’s Not Dead” filmmaker
Harold Cronk, and is expected to have similar success as his other films.

The movie hits theaters Sept. 7 and features stars Lindsay Pulsipher (from “True Blood), Andrew W.
Walker (from “Date With Love”), Jordin Sparks (from “Sparkle”), LaDainian “LT” Tomlinson
(an NFL Football Hall of Famer), Makenzie Moss (from “Steve Jobs”), Kim Delaney (from “Army
Wives”), and Robin Givens (from “Riverdale”).
“UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION”

This film picks up where the last “Unbroken” movie ended. The film is based on the book written by
Laura Hillenbrand, and follows the life of Olympic gold medalist Louis “Louie” Zamperini, who
fought in World War II, and ultimately was captured as a Japanese prisoner of war.

“Unbroken: Path to Redemption,” tells the story of Zamperini’s return home and the battles he faces
after being released as a prisoner of war. The movie shows the uphill battle many service members
face when experiencing freedom at home following the perils of war.

In the movie, Zamperini goes head-to-head with his faith struggles when he attends a Billy Graham
tent revival that proves life-changing.

“PALAU: THE MOVIE”

This autobiographical film follows the life of famed evangelist Luis Palau, who lost his father at a
young age. After years of helping keep his family afloat, Palau hears one of Billy Graham’s sermons
on the radio and decides to dedicate his life to Jesus.

The film also shows various trials Palau faced as a street preacher, and what he did to overcome them.

The movie will be released in October.

“INDIVISIBLE”

This faith-based movie tells the true story of Army chaplain Darren Turner, and depicts the strain
military life can have on a family. “Indivisible” shows the importance of holding tight to your faith,
and your marriage, even when the trials seem impossible.

The cast of “Indivisible” includes “Grey’s Anatomy” stars, Sarah Drew (Chaplain Turner’s wife,
Heather Turner), Justin Bruening (Darren Turner) and Jason George (an American soldier). Sarah
Drew is not only starring in the film, but she is also an executive producer.

The movie hits theaters October 26.

“STAINES”

“Staines” is a film based off of the true story of Graham Staines, a missionary who was martyred for
his faith in Jesus Christ. The film depicts the lives of the Australian missionary and his two young
sons, who were killed in India after ministering to a Leper community in 1999.

Stephen Baldwin (“God’s Plan”) and Shari Rigby (“October Baby”) star in the movie. In an interview
with the Christian Post earlier this year, Baldwin shared that he was prompted by God to do the film.

“I know God called me to the ‘Staines’ movie,” he said, calling the movie an answer to prayer that
was “empowered by the Holy Spirit.”

No official date has been announced, but the film will premiere sometime this fall.
