Christmas on Campus? More Universities Say 'Bah Humbug' - CBN News Gary Lane

Christmas on Campus? More Universities Say 'Bah Humbug' - CBN News Gary Lane  Dec. 13, 2017
'Tis the season to be jolly, for peace on earth and goodwill toward men, but not at Loyola University- Chicago.
Some students at the Catholic school are complaining that Christmas is receiving too much emphasis. They want other religious holidays like the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr to receive the same amount of attention.
And the holiday inclusion movement has spread to other college campuses this Christmas season.
The University of Tennessee has warned students to ensure that their holiday parties aren't really Christmas parties in disguise.

And some other universities have even banned nativity scenes and images of the crucifixion.
Hannah Scherlacher, Campus Reform Program Manager says it's all happening in the name of tolerance and inclusivity.
"But in reality it's just another attempt to  marginalize Christian students."
Also on campus this Christmas season?
Care Bears are now being provided by one university to sooth stressed-out students, while Make America Great Again hats are taboo at another university.
Find out more by watching Ms. Scherlacher's Set it Straight interview with Gary Lane.

Happy Hanukkah! Take 20% Off All Menorahs!

The festival of Hanukkah recounts the great miracles that God has performed for His people in His land long ago. Since the brave Maccabees defeated the wicked Greeks, many enemies have risen up against the Jewish people. Over the  last 70 years since the rebirth of the modern State of Israel, God has performed even greater miracles for His people in His land. Celebrate Hanukkah by lighting a menorah and filling the world with light and the recognition of God's wonders.

50 Year PROPHECY 1967 - 2017: Trump Moving US Embassy to JERUSALEM. Steve Cioccolanti & Discover Ministries

50 Year PROPHECY 1967 - 2017: Trump Moving US Embassy to JERUSALEM
Steve Cioccolanti & Discover Ministries

Donald Trump at the Western Wall

YouTube - Published on Dec 11, 2017

"I have determined IT IS TIME..." said the US President. Trump's bold move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state is drawing condemnation from Arabs and globalist leaders, and praise from Orthodox Jews, Messianic Jews, and Israel-loving Christians. Why did Trump make this decision? What is the prophetic significance of this turn of events? Has Trump "confirmed a covenant with many" or ushered in the blessings of God upon America?

IMPORTANT MESSAGE
"We are creating a clean social media alternative where there will be no profanity and traditional viewpoints will not be censored. The kickstart budget for this project is US$100,000 + $2000 monthly server fees. Consider this our CROWDFUNDED project.

Please pray about sending your best financial gift to support this endeavour to bless and connect Christians around the world. We are preparing for the Lord a Christian social media He would be proud and would use, if He so choose." ~ Pastor Steve

4 STEPS TO JOIN OUR ONLINE CHURCH:

1) SUBSCRIBE to our friends’ list. This ensures you don’t miss communication from us even if our videos or other social media become censored. http://www.discover.org.au/subscribe

2) TITHE and OFFER. Some Christians have been mistaught that tithing is not found in the New Testament, which is a false doctrine according to Luke 11:42 and Hebrews 7:8. God says tithes (10% of our income) are His and must be returned to our local church. If you reside in a geographical location without a Bible-teaching church, you may treat Discover Church as your virtual online church.

Beyond the tithe, you can sow offerings to any ministry that feeds you according to Galatians 6:6. Offerings can be any amount. Pastor Steve believes the $58 seed is prophetic. He has announced a clean social media project for protecting conservative and Christian voices; the kick-start fund for this is US$25,000. Contribute via: http://www.discover.org.au/give

3) PRAY with and for Discover Ministries (Colossians 4:3, 2 Corinthians 1:11). We can do impossible things by the power of prayer. Pastor Steve composed some model prayers you can download and use each day: http://www.discover.org.au/pray

4) SHARE YESHUA/ JESUS to your family and friends. YouTube links are an easy way. Books and DVDs are also effective, as you have found out by watching. Keep sharing them. Before giving Christian books or videos, Pastor Steve recommends you first pray in faith for the person you want to be saved. If you are not sure how, please refer to the prayer called “6 Steps” at link above.

"I've crossed the point of no return!" - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dec. 12, 2017

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

"At that time, they were celebrating the feast of Dedication in Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon." (John 10:22-23)

Hanukkah, the Feast of Dedication, will begin on Tuesday evening. The story behind the feast and how it started is quite interesting, as well as the meaning for us today. It is a story of Israel, Jerusalem and the temple, as well as a time of miracles, purification and rededication.

JERUSALEM, YESTERDAY AND TODAY

President Trump's important speech has caused shockwaves around the world. Jerusalem is once again at the center of worldwide controversy (but not for the last time - see Zechariah 12:2-3). President Trump's statement is similar to President Harry S. Truman's declaration 70 years ago, when Truman recognized the State of Israel. Both men made their statements despite great opposition from other nations and from within their own governments. Continue reading...

For us at ONE FOR ISRAEL, we remain steadfast in our conviction that the peace we are to pray for is found in the Prince of Peace, Yeshua the Messiah. We are determined to bring this Gospel of peace to all in Israel and its surroundings, both Jews and Arabs, encouraging those in need, and training believers through our Bible college.

Most of all, we are eagerly awaiting the day when Jerusalem, its inhabitants, and all our people will cry out, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"

GOD'S WORD GOES FORTH FROM ZION

Meanwhile, Jewish and Arab people continue to meet their Messiah as they hear the Good News. We received this message from an Jewish man a while ago, admitting,

"I believe, but I'm afraid. I feel a change has happened, and I've crossed the point of no return!"

Similarly, our outreach in Arabic continues to impact those in the Arab world, and our staff are working to disciple the new believers in The Way of Yeshua. A few months ago, someone from an Al Quaida background in Syria came to faith, and is now our brother in Messiah!

Celebrating Hanukkah

Yeshua's best friend, John, tells us that Yeshua was in Jerusalem for Hanukkah; the Feast of Dedication. So why don't his followers celebrate it too? Well, some of them do. Hanukkah is a Jewish feast, but not one of God's commanded feasts in the Bible. The holiday is famous for its nine-branch candlestick (instead of the seven-branch one mentioned in Exodus) and donuts! But the roots of the Feast of Dedication might be more Biblical than most people realize. Continue reading...

How Can We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem?

Psalm 122 urges us to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem", or more literally, to ask about the shalom of Jerusalem. What does it mean? Is it talking here about the need to pray for the city itself? Or for spiritual salvation, as true peace starts within? Or a bit of both? Let's look at what the Bible has to say about the significant city, and some suggestions about how we can pray today. Continue reading...
