Claiming Israel is 'Isolated' Just Got a Whole Lot Harder - Ryan Jones ISRAEL TODAY

Claiming Israel is 'Isolated' Just Got a Whole Lot Harder

Sunday, October 28, 2018 |  Ryan Jones  ISRAEL TODAY
Israel? Isolated? Not really.
The claim by Palestinian nationalists and their sympathizers that Israel is globally ostracized for failing to as of yet facilitate the establishment of a Palestinian state is easily debunked. As it so happens, Israel isn't even all that isolated within the Arab world.
For decades, the rest of the Middle East did indeed boycott the Jewish state. But that has been changing of late, and a couple of examples just this past week indicated a rapid acceleration of the normalization process.
Israelis were surprised over the weekend to wake up to newspaper headlines informing us that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had just returned from an official state visit to Oman.
Netanyahu was personally invited to the Omani capital of Muscat by the country's leader, Sultan Sayyid Qaboos bin Said Al Said, to discuss regional issues.
A day later, Omani Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi addressed a security summit in Bahrain, where he urged the rest of the Arab Middle East to likewise embrace the Jewish state.
"Israel is a state present in the region, and we all understand this. The world is also aware of this and maybe it is time for Israel to be treated the same [as other states] and to also bear the same obligations," bin Alawi told the IISS Manama Dialogue conference.
Also over the weekend, the United Arab Emirates hosted its annual Abu Dhadi Judo Grand Slam, and, for the first time ever, Israeli judokas were permitted to compete under their national flag.
Three Israelis won bronze medals, and the Israeli flag was on display as they were awarded by the Arab hosts.
More than that, Israel Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev was invited to attend the competition in her official capacity. Photos of Regev making friendly with UAE President Mohamed Bin Tha'loob Al Derai quickly made waves across the region.
These more recent encounters happened amid a general warming of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. While Jerusalem still has no official relations with any of these Arab countries, their willingness to publicly cuddle up to the Jewish state and its leaders represents a sea change since September 1, 1967, when these same countries joined the rest of the Arab world in signing the Khartoum Resolution outlawing any and all ties with Israel.

Relevant Forever? - Pastor Abel, Nigeria

Pastor Abel, Nigeria

RELEVANT FOREVER?

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

James 1:16-18, "Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."

In today’s memory verse, the Lord Jesus Christ is revealed as never changing. If you can catch a revelation of what this means in your spirit, your life will never remain the same. One benefit of His eternal consistency is that the works He did over two thousand years ago, He can still do today in the lives of those who believe and are yielded to him. Not only are His works unchanging, but His word also never changes.

No wonder the Holy Spirit said in Psalm 119:89, “Forever O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”

If you want your life to be built on a sure foundation in this world of uncertainties, then build your life on His Word. When you live by the Word of God which is forever settled in heaven, it will cause you to remain relevant forever. If you want your life endeavors to outlive you, make sure they are founded on God’s Word. I am appealing to you today to embrace the Word of God which is forever settled. The world we live in is changing but God never changes, and His standard never changes either. For example, thousands of years after God commanded Abraham to walk before Him and be perfect, Jesus Christ came and echoed the same words to His disciples (Genesis 17:1, Matthew 5:48).

In our Bible text today, we have fundamental truths that cannot be wished away if you want to forever remain relevant spiritually and in the kingdom of heaven. It says:

“Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”

One of the truths contained in this Scripture is that every good and perfect gift is from God, the Father of lights. You know He is your Father indeed, when like Him you illuminate the darkness of this world. Another of these truths is that this Father of lights does not change, and there is no shadow of turning with Him.

As human beings, we may restructure, modernize, amplify and contextualize His printed word in our hands, but His original word is forever the same with Him in heaven. Lastly, the most effective instrument He has been using since the world began is His word (John 1:13). Through this same word are we born again and made perfect. His word is indeed magnified above His Name (Psalm 138:2).

Beloved, the extent of your relevance depends on the extent to which your life complies with the word of God. Do you abide by His word?

May God bless you all in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzI was really intrigued as I read through this latest article by Jennifer Martin about "moving mountains." After all, Jesus said we could move mountains and cast them into the sea...say what?
Jennifer starts out with this in her article:

Can we really move mountains? When Jesus spoke of moving mountains by faith, did He actually want people to physically move the mountain? I mean, even Jesus Himself never moved one as far as I know. Interesting that Jesus talks about it yet having never done it Himself. Did the Father want Him to demonstrate to us how to actually move a mountain and throw it into the sea?

Now, read on and find out how you can move mountains in your life! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"How to Move Mountains"
Jennifer Martin, Nashville, TN

Dear friends,

Can we really move mountains? When Jesus spoke of moving mountains by faith, did He actually want people to physically move the mountain? I mean, even Jesus Himself never moved one as far as I know. Interesting that Jesus talks about it yet having never done it Himself. Did the Father want Him to demonstrate to us how to actually move a mountain and throw it into the sea?

I'm sure Jesus would have done it, if it was the will of the Father. And Jesus did say in John 5:19,  "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner." So I'm assuming the reason Jesus didn't go around demonstrating His power by throwing mountains was because He didn't see His Father doing it. Wow! Think about that for a minute. The focus is not throwing mountains, but seeing what is impossible becoming possible with God. Matthew 19:26 reminds us that, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Nothing Will Be Impossible for You

Jesus was trying to make a point and get something deep in our hearts about what faith actually looks like and where it comes from. If He had used another example, we may not have gotten the point at all. Because something smaller might have been possible to do without faith, maybe we could handle small things by hand or by force. We could work many situations merely by trying to find a solution and stretching forth our hands to work. So there are times when things are possible with man.

But in this case, what do we do with a mountain? How could we possibly move a mountain by hand, right? People had to be thinking: "What does He mean by 'moving mountains'? It can't happen!" But Jesus gave the answer when He said, in Matthew 17:20, "…if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

So, if I just have a tiny bit of FAITH, I can move this mountain? I don't need some big, massive army to cut-down every tree, but just a tiny-sized seed of faith? Yes! It is supernatural. It is not by force, not by hand, but by faith.

I can hear the disciples asking, "So Lord, You mean that there are times when we really can do nothing? That we have to just believe in and rely on God alone?"

Jesus said in John 11:40, "Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?"

Just Believe and Do Not Doubt

Yes! There are many times when our efforts won't change a thing. Our actions won't bring results. There are times when after you've done all, you must stand (Ephesians 6:13). We must see the great strength in "just" standing, "just" believing, "just" resting and "just" waiting. There is power in the waiting. Isaiah 40:31 encourages us that, "They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

God sees our faith! Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You must not give up hope that God is truly "...a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).

Only believe! That's the one requirement. Just believe. Then, you will see God's glory manifest in your life. You will see that mountain move... always. It's time to wipe away the doubt, wipe away the fear, wipe away the "what ifs," and believe in the impossible again.

Faith is simply believing God to move that mountain. True faith will come out of a position of rest. Rest moves mountains and your mountain will move by resting in God's faithfulness to you. You don't have to scream at your mountain; you don't have to yell threats or take it down. Simply rest. Simply trust. Simply believe. Your mountain is moving while you rest.

FAITH MOVES GOD, AND GOD MOVES MOUNTAINS!
