“…when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.  But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:6-8, NKJV
When the small group of about five of us from Columbus High School (Catholic) met for a time of study, led by my friend Terri Smith, they ended the meeting by praying for me. It was 1973, my senior year in Waterloo, Iowa, and they had told me prior that they would seek the Lord on my behalf, to receive something more, way beyond what I could have already learned in 12 years of religious education. Having grown up in the Midwest state of Iowa*, in one of the finest school systems in the USA, I knew I needed and thus desired more in my life.
Columbus Catholic High School in Waterloo, Iowa
And I was not disappointed. After they circled around me, laid hands on my head and shoulders, I began to know the Holy Spirit in a very real, very tangible way. I was 18. He had been around for all eternity.
This One was no longer in my mind, my heart, my soul as just the “Third Person of the Trinity”. Nor was He just “Holy Ghost” – like Casper the friendly ghost who I grew up watching on TV. He was no longer some foreign concept that somehow, I was supposed to have believed in without ever seeing. Of course, I was taught to believe that in the Apostles Creed from my youth up.
No, Holy Spirit, without the “The”, became my Guide, my Comforter, the One Who gave me the ability to pray in a language which I didn’t know, for things I wasn’t sure I was praying for, Who had just come into my life. He had also endowed me with gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are listed in Scripture, found in Romans and Corinthians, written by Paul the apostle, the believing Jew in the Messiah, the One Who had fulfilled His promise in sending Holy Spirit.
Instrumental as part of the foundational stone in my Christian life, was the first gift of speaking in tongues. From that point on I knew, really knew in my heart that I was praying the right prayers. It was not just for the Pentecostals down the street, which previously I had considered somewhat weird. Nor the Protestant and Catholic Charismatic people, which were being blessed all around the world with that current move of the Holy Spirit in the 1960s and 70s.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit had come to me. That moment in time forever changed my life. Forever changed my life.
Yeshua (Jesus) had fulfilled His promise to His followers, the Jews in 33 AD, that after His death, burial, and resurrection He would send His Holy Spirit to them, for the power they would need to obey His commission to take the Good News, the Gospel, to the nations. They too were not disappointed.
As historically and factually recorded in Acts 2:1-13 (I am quoting here from the Complete Jewish Bible), we know what happened to these first disciples, all Jewish believers in Yeshua.
“The festival of Shavu‘ot (Pentecost as known in English) arrived, and the believers all gathered together in one place. Suddenly there came a sound from the sky like the roar of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then they saw what looked like tongues of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them. They were all filled with the Ruach HaKodesh and began to talk in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak.
Now there were staying in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) religious Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered; they were confused, because each one heard the believers speaking in his own language. Totally amazed, they asked, “How is this possible? Aren’t all these people who are speaking from the Galil (Galilee)? How is it that we hear them speaking in our native languages? We are Parthians, Medes, Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Y’hudah (Judah), Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome; Jews by birth and proselytes; Jews from Crete and from Arabia. . . ! How is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great things God has done?” Amazed and confused, they all went on asking each other, “What can this mean?” But others made fun of them and said, “They’ve just had too much wine!”
I am not much of a wine drinker (just have not gotten a liking to the taste) but obviously these Jewish believers had quite a reaction when the power of the Holy Spirit came upon them that day. The lives they then lived from that point on proved to the world that indeed they were empowered by Someone outside of just a fleshly commitment to obey the Lord. Holy Spirit had given them the courage, the boldness, the empowerment they would need to take that which Yeshua (Jesus) had taught them, to a dying world which too needed what they had been given.
Lord knows we each need the Holy Spirt today in our lives.
I have been to the Upper Room in the Old City of Jerusalem several times. Though we cannot always know the “exact” location where anything ever happened in mankind’s history, this surely is close enough for me. And when I have gathered with many, many Christians, and Jews, believers in the One God, in that place, I can tangibly feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Greg Partipilo – one of the four men on our Love For His People 1st annual fall men’s trip – Ahava Adventures. In the Upper Room, Jerusalem. Oct. 2019 Photo by Steve Martin
From that initial day in 1973 with my high school friends, the 3rd person of the Trinity, God Himself, has led me in the ways of the Lord. He has spoken words of guidance, hope, direction, and encouragement into my spirit. He has taught me the ways of God the Father, and the impacting knowledge of the Only Begotten Son, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ.
During the late 1990s, here in Charlotte, North Carolina, dozens of us would gather each Friday night at All Nations Church, in an actual converted horse barn which, along with my Dad, Louis Martin, had first taken out the horse stalls to begin transformation of the place!
The gathering was called the “Watch of the Lord” by Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda, to have 8 hours of praise and worship of the Lord, prayer for Israel, the USA, and the nations, prophetic words, and healing for the sick. Each Friday night from 10 pm to 6 am. To this day it continues, though with a few less hours. (You can read, and see photos, of those years in my book, “The Promise. One Man’s Journey To See God’s Word Revealed, 2013).
One amazing facet of the evening/early morning hours were the lengthy times of praying in tongues together. In fact, on one special night, we had a minister present who spoke of how the Lord had instructed him to pray for hours in tongues, unknowing what he was praying for. Years later, at a critical time in his ministry, the Holy Spirit told him that those previous hours of praying in tongues had prepared him and those around him for the great plan God had brought him to, in which he needed the faith and courage to build a Christian radio station in the Northeast corner of the USA. The ground had been prepared through his obedience, and the Holy Spirit’s empowerment, to then build.
To this day I regularly pray in tongues.
We not only look to the annual special season of Pentecost, celebrated for centuries by the Church, but all the way back to the very first time of Holy Spirit’s coming during the Lord’s Feast of Shavuot, occurring in the Jewish city of Jerusalem, Yerushalayim.
The Holy Spirit came then, to empower and send out the believers. His ongoing desire is to do the same for us, for those who continue to seek the Living God of Israel and His plans and purposes to be fulfilled in their lives.
Come Holy Spirit. (Or as in Hebrew, Bo Ruach HaKodesh). Fill our hearts and souls with Your presence, O Lord.
Now think on this.
Ahava and shalom,
Steve Martin, Founder/President  Love For His People, Inc.
*The Iowa educational school system, in the 1970s, had the final testing for students that was used in the nation at that time, based on its high standards of teaching high school students. It was called the Iowa Basic Skills. And the Catholic school system was known for having an even higher standard than what the state, and nation, had set.

A Season of Crazy Increase! Watch For the Super Blooms!”Jane Hamon, Santa Rosa Beach, FL

This year, after another year of difficult drought in Southern California, scientists are saying they had a March Miracle, with almost double the normal amount of rain in March alone.

This set the desert up for a phenomenon called a “super bloom.”

Though these usually only occur every 10-15 years and under some of the most difficult situations, Southern California has had three super blooms in the last four years! I believe this is a sign.

“Watch for the Super Blooms!”

Last year, I heard a UK prophet named Rachel Hickson mention a story about the “super bloom.” She said that the Flanders Fields in Belgium are famous for all the poppies that sprang up after the agitating of the soil, boots and bloodshed during the trench warfare of WWI. She taught that at times it takes harsh conditions, droughts, fires, floods, etc. to agitate the seed and wake it up for a super bloom.

Right before that, I had had a dream in which God spoke to me declaring a season of “Crazy Increase,” a season of super abundance. I felt these messages were a confirmation to one another about the times and seasons we were coming into, and I heard the Lord say, “Watch for the super blooms. Expect the super blooms.”

Many, may say, “Are you kidding? We are in one of the most challenging economic seasons we have ever been through.” This actually makes the promise of God even more powerful and the signs God is sending us even more profound.

This year in February, the Dead Sea area of Israel experienced the first super bloom in history. On 2/19/20 and 2/20/20 the headlines in the Israeli news read, “Rains bring stunning displays to parched Dead Sea area,” and “Dead Sea Blooms Floral Wonderland for First Time.” This sea is full of salt and the land is one of the harshest on Earth, yet it burst into beautiful fields of flowers! This is what God can do in our lives.

He can bring rain on our dry ground and cause our desert places to blossom and bloom like the rose.

From Trial to Triumph!

Hear the promises from the Lord in Isaiah 35 from The Passion Translation: “The wilderness and dry land will be joyously glad! The desert will blossom like a rose and rejoice! Every dry and barren place will burst forth with abundant blossoms, dancing and spinning with delight! Lebanon’s lush splendor covers it, the magnificent beauty of Carmel and Sharon. My people will see the awesome glory of Yahweh, the beautiful grandeur of our God.”Strengthen those who are discouraged. Energize those who feel defeated. Say to the anxious and fearful, ‘Be strong and never afraid. Look, here comes your God! He is breaking through to give you victory! He comes to avenge your enemies. With divine retribution He comes to save you!’

“Then blind eyes will open and deaf ears will hear. Then the lame will leap like playful deer and the tongue-tied will sing songs of triumph. Gushing water will spring up in the wilderness and streams will flow through the desert. The burning sand will become a refreshing oasis, the parched ground bubbling springs and the dragon’s lair a meadow with grass, reeds, and papyrus.

“There will be a highway of holiness called the Sacred Way. The impure will not be permitted on this road, but it will be accessible to God’s people. And not even fools will lose their way. The lion will not be found there; no wild beast will travel on it—they will not be found there. But the redeemed will find a pathway on it. Yahweh’s ransomed ones will return with glee to Zion. They will enter with a song of rejoicing and be crowned with everlasting joy. Ecstatic joy will overwhelm them; weariness and grief will disappear!”

You may be in one of the driest times of your life, but God is getting ready to send the rain of His presence in abundance upon you to wake up the seeds of destiny, prosperity and purpose within you.

Your place of trial is becoming your place of triumph! Your place of barrenness is becoming your place of blessing! Your wilderness is becoming your place of victory!

Every place of delay and dormancy are becoming places of a superabundant super bloom! It’s time for crazy increase!* Please don’t miss our emerging and newly found prophets!

Kokeb Gedamu (with wife Menalu)
Jerusalem, Israel
Being born and raised in Ethiopia, Kokeb and his wife Menalu attended school, met and married in the Northern Part of Ethiopia Gondar, which is the home of THE BETA YESRAEL community. During the communist uprising in Ethiopia, Kokeb and Menalu fled the country making a difficult and perilous journey through the desert of Sudan.  They encountered many hardships, even fearing for their lives, but God protected and delivered them.  They lived in Sudan for 6 years during which their first child Ruhama was born, in 1990.  Kokeb served as an Elder in a congregation of Ethiopian and Eritrean refugee’s in Khartoum, the Capital of Sudan.  He taught Bible school, led prayer groups, and tried to encourage those living in less than ideal conditions.
In 1993, doors were opened for them to enter Egypt where conditions improved slightly.  In the capital of Egypt, Cairo, Kokeb served there as Leader and Elder in the Maranatha Refuge Ethiopian Church.  It was there that their second child, Ebenezer was born in 1993.  Finally, after seven years without a permanent home they made Aliyah (immigration to Israel) where their last child, Tsiona, was born in 1996.
While in Israel, Rabbi Kokeb served as Senior Pastor of six Ethiopian Messianic Jewish Congregations in Israel.  He served there faithfully until the Lord called him to further his education in Canada.  In 2000, he moved his family to Canada and was eventually ordained as a pastor at the Open Bible Faith Fellowship of Canada.  In 2001, it was time to move again.  This time it was Philadelphia where he was called by the Messianic Jewish community to plant an Ethiopian Messianic congregation in the Greater Philadelphia area.
He started a new fellowship of believers, Congregation Burning Bush of Greater Philadelphia, where Ethiopian Jews and Christians could worship together.  He served for almost 10 years and finally ordained two young pastors and passed the congregation on to them.  Kokeb then moved to Denver, Colorado with his family to plant another congregation for Ethiopians.  Kokeb Gedamu is an ordained Rabbi of the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS) where he served as Regional Director for Africa.
Kokeb has also served as the director on the board of operations for Tikvah/Hope, a humanitarian aid project of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA).  Rabbi Kokeb is known by many messianic congregation and synagogues as a motivated speaker and revivalist.  During his ministry, many have been healed from different sickness and delivered from demonic operations by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  Kokeb is frequently invited to congregations throughout the United States and abroad to spread the message of what God is doing among the Ethiopian Jews in Africa, as well as in Israel.  He has a passion for revival, healing and deliverance, and teaching the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.
In 2010, Kokeb wrote a book “Journey Beyond Imagination” which chronicles the journey of the Gedamu family.   He has authored two books on marriage in Amharic (a Semitic language in Ethiopia), and the book “After the Honey Moon” has been translated into English as well.  His other writings include books on the subjects of why we pray for Jerusalem and the names of God.
Kokeb and his family once again relocated to the state of Colorado where they planted Agape Evangelical Church for both Ethiopians and Americans.  Agape is now located in the municipality of Aurora and is holding services in two languages, Amharic and English.  Rabbi Kokeb and Pastor Menalu travel extensively all over the world to oversee operations on local and international levels.  He maintains offices in both the US and Ethiopia.  Kokeb sponsors an annual trip to Ethiopia and encourages everyone to come see first-hand the humanitarian work for the Beta Yesrealites whom are neglected by the Israeli government because of their faith In Yeshua!
In 2015, the Lord called the Gedamus back to the land of Israel.  They now live in Jerusalem and have started Amud HaEsh (Pillar of Fire) Ethiopian Messianic Congregation whose primary mission is to reach out to the second Ethiopian generation.  Many of the young Beta Yesraelites fall by the wayside overcome by hopelessness due to lack of skills and education, compounded by negative self-image.
Kokeb & Menalu are working hard in the Holy Land to equip the Ethiopian Jews as well as to walk into all that God intends for them.  Your Prayers and support make a big difference in the restoration of the Ethiopian Jewish.  Shalom and visit us in Yerushalim!
With an eye to the future as told in Jeremiah 16 vision of a future massive Aliyah- one greater than the Exodus from Egypt; the Lerners believe God is calling them to prepare and develop a complex to receive large amounts of Olim. The vision is of a welcoming, peaceful, healing, resting place to safely come in the harbor and acclimate to their new life.

Richard & Carolyn Hyde, Israel, Heart of G-d Ministries
We are Israeli-American citizens living in the Galilee, sharing the love of Yeshua, Jesus, with Israelis. Richard is Christian and I’m a Messianic Jew so together we are one new man in Messiah. We lived in Germany from 2001-2003 where we shared Messiah in German public schools. We continue to do this today, and we’ve seen many German youth come to faith in Yeshua!
In 2003 we made Aliyah, immigrated to Israel and became citizens. We are very active in sharing our faith and also in worship in the Land today. We work with our two sons, Ariel and Avi and the Media Team that’s affiliated with our congregation. Perhaps you’ve seen our Isaiah 53 The Forbidden Chapter video?  We’re so excited at how the L-rd is opening the eyes and hearts of Israelis today! Here is a brief video that describes what we have been called to do. And here are two music videos from some of our CD’s – enjoy! Blessings from the Galilee in Yeshua’s love, Carolyn & Richard Hyde www.heartofg-d.org      PO Box 112, Poriya Kfar Avoda, Israel 15220 WhatsApp & Cell phone: +972 (0)54 660 5408

Tim Buck, Focus on the End Times Ministry, Founder, with wife Nancy
Everyone wants to be “blessed” but a lot of Christians many not understand that there are special blessings for learning prophecy. When it comes to reading and studying prophecy and the book of Revelation, Jesus promised three special blessings or beatitudes found nowhere else in the Bible.
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
These blessings belong to all God’s children as many students of prophecy have experienced and they are part of Tim’s personal testimony. At age 20, God used Bible prophecy to draw Tim to salvation. Shortly after becoming a Christian, he spent 4 years in Bible College and 4 years in Seminary preparing for the ministry.
After seminary and entering the ministry, Tim began his lifelong journey of discerning Biblical prophecy and teaching how it applies to us today. It’s become his personal challenge to demonstrate the love of God through teaching prophecy while warning the church to be ready.
Getting the facts straight is important but not as important as a life that glorifies the Lord, “I charge you  to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords,  who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.”

David Peterman, Strength For Israel Shabbat leader
David Peterman has been the Shabbat first Friday of the month leader at Antioch International Church for over 2 years, and a member of the congregation for over 7 years.
He shares this timeline of his unique journey!
“I had an encounter with the Lord in 2000 at the Portage Lake Covenant Church camp at a men’s retreat. It was a profound change. One day later I received my call to ministry. I was 33 years old.

In 2003 I was ordained and served my pastoral internship at Resurrection Life Church of Cheboygan, Michigan. I became the Associate Pastor, leading the men’s ministry. Here I met my first Messianic Jewish person. I also heard the first teachings of Jesus as Yeshua from a Jewish Rabbi who taught even on the cross. It captured my heart.
It also was the time of my first missions trip to Honduras.

In 2005 the Lord brought me to North Carolina. I attended the Morningstar School of Ministry for two years.  During this time, I helped clean and renovate rooms, joined prophetic teams, ushered, and assisted with conferences setup. Here I met and became friends with Rabbi Michael Elk. We attended a Messianic Vision Conference, Another life-changing experience. My wife Luana and I got married in 2008. Together we have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. The same year we came to Antioch International Church where I played bass in the praise and worship band.

During the years 2010-2012, I was the Senior Pastor at The Resurrection Life Fellowship of Greater Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC. We returned to AIC in 2012, and were placed on the church board, and also became the pastoral visitation pastors.

In 2014 I met Rabbi Harlen Wall, becoming a student at the Andersonville Theological Seminary where I worked on my Associates’s Degree in pastoral ministry. In 2017 I began Shabbat Services at AIC, followed by my first trip to Israel in 2018. I will be returning in the fall of 2020.

My focus is on teaching Christians our Hebrew roots of faith through the sharing of Jewish customs and traditions. My heart is to also build bridges between the Jewish people and Christians. I have a heart for orphans, widows, and disadvantaged Jewish people in Israel.
