Train Up A Child
Steve Martin
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6, NKJV)
You can add "grandchild" to that verse too, for that also is in the Lord's heart.
Having given some time in caring for our youngest grandson, Levi Avalos, for a few times each week the past two years, I recall the times when raising our own four kids that I wish I knew then what I know now. If you are a grandparent, you may be thinking the same thing.
Life is really more difficult I believe for these past two generations. No longer is "black" black, nor "white" white as we use to say. Now everything seems to be blurred and wacky. No wonder kids these days bury themselves in video games and YouTube, with parents gone, neighbors unknown, streets unsafe to play on. You name it, things are not what they use to be.
So true are the Bible verses stating, in 2 Timothy 3:1-6, "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these."
