Anti-Semitic Incidents in US Rise Nearly 60% in 2017

CBN News Tzippe Barrow
JERUSALEM, Israel – A new study shows hate crimes against American Jews are hitting record levels across the United States.
According to the Anti-Defamation League's latest report, harassment, threats and vandalism targeting Jews rose by nearly 60 percent in 2017. It's the largest rise on record in a single year and the second highest since the ADL began tracking anti-Semitic incidents in America in the 1970s.
The report recorded 1,986 incidents, including bomb threats on Jewish institutions and schools, vandalism in Jewish cemeteries and physical assaults. It's the second highest number in 40 years and not one state was exempted from some type of anti-Semitic attack.
"A confluence of events in 2017 led to a surge in attacks on our community – from bomb threats, cemetery desecrations, white supremacists marching in Charlottesville and children harassing children at school," ADL CEO and National Director Jonathan A. Greenblat said. "These incidents came at a time when we saw a rising climate of incivility, the emboldening of hate groups and widening divisions in society."
Vandalism saw the largest increase in 2017, though most of the people who vandalized Jewish homes, businesses and community spots remain unidentified. In the first quarter of 2017, there were 163 bomb threats against Jewish institutions.
New York, California, New Jersey Massachusetts, Florida and Pennsylvania experienced the most attacks, presumably because they have the largest Jewish populations.
Incidents in schools from kindergarten through college campuses nearly doubled from the previous year.
"The consistent increase of anti-Semitic incidents against students of all ages is deeply troubling," Greenblatt continued. "We know that students do not always report when they are being bullied so for every incident that's reported, it is likely there's another that goes unreported.
Greenblatt said the ADL is committed to take its "No Place for Hate" program into more schools this year.
The ADL said its report includes both criminal and non-criminal incidents and was compiled from interviews with victims, law enforcement officials and community leaders.

More Quickly - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Now Think On This

“I myself will gather what remains of my flock from all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their homes, and they will be fruitful and increase their numbers. I will appoint shepherds over them who will shepherd them; then they will no longer be afraid or disgraced; and none will be missing,” says Adonai.” (Jeremiah 23:3-4, Complete Jewish Bible)

On January 3, 2018 I woke up remembering a dream the Lord had given me that night. I try to remember dreams when He gives them to me, but often I don’t, as much as I try later. But this one I did recall.

In the dream, I was at an airport and I could see labels marked “Aliyah” (immigration to Israel). The labels were being used to tag luggage so that each piece could be properly claimed later upon arrival at the traveler’s destination. I could see it was a Canadian airport, and these were American Jews passing through the airport system. Israel was the final stopping point for them.

There were so many of them needing the label “Aliyah” that the airport ran out of the tags. I can’t recall what the airport personnel did at that point, but it didn’t seem to stop the movement of the people.

When thinking about this later, and after sending a brief message to a friend in Israel who is involved in aliyah for Jews, I believe the Lord is ramping up the timetable for Jews around the world to make aliyah – to return to Israel as their homeland. I believe it will especially be important for American Jews to seriously consider this move for themselves and their families in these coming years. I am not sharing this out of fear, but out of the sense that it is certainly now time.

The time has come to move. The Lord has prepared the way for them.

The phrase “more quickly” comes to mind, as the urgent sense of timing is more important now that it has ever been. Sometimes you know or sense something is to be done, and you sit on it for a while, either out of procrastination, ignorance or unwillingness to acknowledge it. I sense that that time for these doing so is coming to an end. They must be willing to act, and then do so. Otherwise, it will not be an option, or it will cost more in money and effort than it would have if obedience had taken place earlier.

I pray for the Lord’s provision and protection to be with them as they heed His voice.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Jerusalem - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Jerusalem

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“After He had said these things, He was going on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.” (Luke 19:28, NAS)

Jerusalem, my favorite city in the world. And I am not even a Jew. Imagine that.

I find it fascinating when American Jews ask me why I go to Jerusalem so much. I have made 15 trips from the USA since 1987 to the land of Israel. In these later years, I have tried to make it an annual event, as we are committed to doing this. Supporting Israel is especially the main objective for us, to keep a firm stand with them, through the work of Love For His People.

Why does a Gentile, goyim (Hebrew), former Roman Catholic, Evangelical, Pentecostal, Charismatic Christian, white Caucasian, Southern 63-year-old male from Cedar Falls, Iowa, born in Minnesota (any more descriptions I need to include?) want to go to Jerusalem so much?

Because those who live there are continually in the Lord’s heart (Jesus, Yeshua), and thus being a disciple and believer in Him, Jerusalem, and His People are also in my heart.

It was in Jerusalem where He came to earth, having been sent there from His Father and Holy Spirit; where He lived, was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. And from Jerusalem He then instructed His apostles, messengers, to take His Gospel, the Good News, to the ends of the earth, before He returns for the second time.

And thus this capitol, eternal city of Israel since the days of King David, is very important to the King of all kings, Who is my King too.

“Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. "You are witnesses of these things.  "And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:44-49, NASU)

Having established Jewish friends now in the Land, it surely makes my prayer life and desire for protection over them even more fervent. When you have family, you care more. At least that is how I was raised by my good mother and father. Israel is like family to me. The Jews are my friends, and I stand with them at all times.

While in Jerusalem, walking in the footsteps of Jesus is a big deal, even if the actual street level is 15-20 feet down below the current level. Centuries of ruin and captivity have layered the city. Archeological digs all over have proven this city has been the city of the Jews.

In 1917, when the Balfour Declaration was written, the homeland for the Jews once again began to be re-establish. In 1948 the Jews once again proclaimed Israel as their rightful, biblical state; and in 1967 they once again recaptured Jerusalem, never to lose it ever again. Prophetic words, spoken by Messiah Himself, had come to pass. Jerusalem is now eternally in the hands of the Chosen People. His prophesied return is thus getting real close.

“Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.  For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.

"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthews 24:3-14, NKJV)

Jerusalem is the center of the world. It is the focus of all attention, whether some like that or not. It will continue to be in the headlines, news clips, social media sites, and all airwaves. The Living God of Israel has chosen to make Himself known among the nations, and Israel, especially Jerusalem, is His main concentration point. His Name will be held in high esteem, as He shows Himself strong on their behalf.

Watch the Jews. Watch Israel. And especially watch Jerusalem. That is where it all will happen in the end. This is where it will all be fulfilled, the completion of His work, the ingathering of the Jews to establish His purposes and ultimate plans.

His eternal destinies will be accomplished and established. No one or nothing will stop Him. Jerusalem – where the King will reside on His Holy Mountain.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Rising Anti-Semitism a Harbinger of End of Days by Rivkah Lambert Adler BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

(Photo: Shutterstock.com)

Rising Anti-Semitism a Harbinger of End of Days

“And Yaakov beheld the countenance of Lavan, and, behold, it was not toward him as beforetime. And the LORD said unto Yaakov: ‘Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.’” Genesis 31:2-3 (The Israel Bible™)
UNESCO denies the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. The Arab League, Germany and the US dispute Israel’s claim to the Golan Heights. Reports reveal trends in escalating anti-Semitism worldwide.
Breaking Israel News spoke with Rabbi Pinchas Winston about the connection between rising anti-Semitism and the End of Days. Rabbi Winston began by discussing the supernatural nature of anti-Semitism. “If anti-Semitism is simply hatred of the Jewish people, you just have to stay out of the way. If it’s a Divine message then we can assume that God is saying something specific. Every time we ignore it, everything gets worse and we suffer terribly in the end.”
“Everybody who thinks seriously about anti-Semitism clearly sees there is no logic behind it. God wanted to make His point stark, so he sent the Arabs to the rest of the world to do to the rest of the world what they have done to the Jews in Israel,” he explained.
We can plainly see that it changed nothing, Rabbi Winston continued. Anti-Semitism exists even when the world can see what Israel has to contend with. “Anti-Semitism is a hatred that goes beyond the everyday reasons for racial hatred,” he concluded.
If anti-Semitism makes no logical sense, the Bible-based person is led to ask whether it makes spiritual sense. Rabbi Winston explained, “Once there is no logic, then it’s supernatural.”
In elaborating on the spiritual significance of anti-Semitism to Breaking Israel News, Rabbi Winston asserted that God is taking the Jewish people through a process known as birurBirur is a mystical Jewish concept, involving sifting, choosing, separating and refining the Jewish people.
There are currently approximately 15 million people worldwide who identify themselves as Jews. With the End of Days so close, Rabbi Winston explained that God is in the process of identifying who, among the Jewish people, will survive the coming changes. “If a person is in Israel and connected to the idea of geula [the final redemption of the Jewish people], that person has the best chance of surviving.
“We see from the past that religious observance was not a guaranteed ticket to freedom and protection. Being in the right place at the right time when an exile comes to an end has worked for the religious and secular alike. Many want to believe that there is no imperative to be in Israel today, or at least to dream of living there. But if one follows the trend over the last couple of hundred years, he or she will see that Divine Providence has quietly at times, and not so quietly at other times, been moving the Jewish people back in that direction.”
According to Rabbi Winston, anti-Semitism is God’s way of “forcing a Jew to choose to be on one side or the other. History is wrapping up. We each have to decide, ‘Who do you belong to?’”
The end is near. Are you ready?
He went further by suggesting that “perhaps Bernie Sanders’ presidential bid is part of that process, to pull people in one direction or the other.”
Hashem (God) wants the Jews to come home. God is ready to lower the boom. We have to distance ourselves from the nitty gritty politics that distracts people. We, as a people, have to look at the bigger, historical picture.”
Rabbi Winston suggests two possibilities for the future. One is that God has a fantastic miracle in store – a plan to put awareness of the spiritual reality into the heads of all Jews everywhere. The other, darker scenario “is a major national disaster to take the Jewish people out of America. Until now, the latter has usually been the means of Divine choice.”
Rabbi Winston suggested that, “The right response [to rapidly rising anti-Semitism] would be that the Jewish people would say that it’s happening again and pick up and leave.”
In other words, anti-Semitism is God’s way of pushing the Jews outside of Israel to unequivocally decide whether they want to remain part of the Jewish people in the next stage of history. In Rabbi Winston’s view, God is urging the Jews who still live outside of Israel, “Don’t wait any longer! In the past, we always felt there would be another opportunity to go. We have been wrong each time. You just can’t wait. If you see it, that’s your opportunity. Don’t listen to that voice that says you’ll have more time.”
Rabbi Winston used an analogy from the Passover story to further explain why the Jews of North America need to take action now instead of waiting until things become intolerable. “Instead of calling out to Hashem, we kept adapting [to the slavery] in Mitzrayim (Egypt). We kept thinking that it could always be worse.” He implied that the Jews in North America are making the same mistake, by denying the trend of increased anti-Semitism and increased anti-Israel sentiment.
In a recent essay on this topic, Rabbi Winston issued a stern warning about the necessity to see today’s anti-Semitism as God’s End of Days message to the Jews who don’t yet live in Israel.
“The common thread running back to the very first anti-Semites? Jew hatred for no good reason. A disgust of things Jewish that defies logic. A willingness to downgrade the status of the Jews until they become a virus that needs eradication.
“It’s all there today. If we don’t recognize it for what it is and deal with it as we should, at least acknowledging that the fourth and final exile has reached its long awaited conclusion, we’re just going let history repeat itself again. Is anyone looking forward to that?”

Pew Poll Finds That Israelis and American Jews Share Strong Bonds - Alexander Apfel BIN

Pew Poll Finds That Israelis and American Jews Share Strong Bonds

“Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity; better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.” Proverbs 27:10 (The Israel Bible™)
A new Pew poll shows that Israelis and American Jews share strong bonds and that most Israeli Jews feel they share a common destiny with US Jews.
The Pew Research Center released a series of polls and findings relating to Israeli society on Tuesday, March 8. The research covered a variety of subjects, including religion, politics and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
One of the surveys conducted shows that 68% of Israelis say that they have “a lot” or “some” in common with American Jews while 59% said that they think US Jews have a good influence on Israeli affairs. Only 6% said that they believed the influence was negative while the remainder expressed ambivalence.

The poll indicates relative reciprocity by Israelis in comparison with a 2013 survey of US Jews and it even reflects that Israelis have more positive feelings towards American Jews than vice-versa. While the 2013 poll indicated that American Jews also harbor warm feelings toward the State of Israel, only 30% of American Jews polled said that they were “very” emotionally attached to Israel and just 39% said that they were “somewhat” so.
Despite the greater percentages of support by Israelis, American support has proven robust and has not wavered since 2000-2001 despite the increase in the delegitimization campaigns against Israel in recent years.
“Emotional attachment to Israel has not waned discernibly among American Jews in the past decade,” the 2013 Pew survey concluded.

WATCH: American Jewish Leader Urges Mass Aliyah to Israel - RON CANTOR/MESSIAH’S MANDATE CHARISMA MAGAZINE

WATCH: American Jewish Leader Urges Mass Aliyah to Israel

I think it is safe to say that when large numbers of American Jews, particularly non-orthodox, secular Jews, make Aliyah (move to Israel), the end is near. For most American Jews the idea of living in Israel is laughable. But what this one leader in the video below rightly identifies is that Israel is becoming the only safe haven for the Jewish people.
Indeed our father Theodore Herzl became a Zionist only when he saw unbridled anti-Semitism against a French officer who was banished to Devil's Island. Herzl concluded 40 years before the Holocaust that the only safe place for the Jewish people would be our own country.
Jeremiah spoke of two ways the Jewish people would come home.
"But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the Lord, "and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks."

Fisherman are those like Herzl and this women in the video below, pleading with Jews to come home to Israel. Fisherman pull. However, if that doesn't work the hunter's, the anti-Semites, will drive the Jewish people back to Israel. As horrible as radical Islam is, God will use it to bring the Jewish people home.
The promise clear and is coming to pass before our eyes.
"Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west; I will say to the north, "Give them up," and to the south, "Do not keep them back. Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth" (Isaiah 43:5-6, MEV).
"I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries wherever I have driven them and bring them again to their folds, and they shall be fruitful and increase. I will also set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they will fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor will they be missing, says the Lord. The days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the earth. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. And this is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness" (Jer. 23:3-6, MEV).

About The JWRP
http://www.jwrp.org/

"Inspire a woman, you inspire a family. Inspire enough families, you inspire a community. Inspire enough communities, you can change the world."If you wanted to have the greatest influence on the direction of the Jewish people, whom should you target? The Jewish mother, that’s who.

In 2008, eight Jewish women from different walks of life, affiliations, observance, and ages began a powerful dialogue. They agreed that it was time to empower and inspire women with the rich beauty of their Jewish heritage, and the JWRP was born.

The JWRP seeks to inspire women to transform themselves, transform their families, their communities, and the world. Our flagship program is Momentum, an eight-day journey through Israel. Momentum is more than a tour of Israel; it is an opportunity to deeply explore ourselves. Thousands of women from 19 different countries have already experienced this life-changing trip, paying only their own airfare, and returning home with the best gift of all—a deep, eternal connection to Israel, a profound kinship with each other, and a heart filled with Jewish values.

We work in partnership with a wide spectrum of community organizations, from Jewish outreach centers to Federations. Our partners recruit the women, staff the buses and continue the journey through continually evolving follow-up programming that keeps the inspiration going and helps to create bonds that extend not only to communities, but globally.

One of the most exciting results of our trips was the impact on families. We started hearing from our participants: “My husband has to see this and hear this!” We also heard from our partnering organizations, and finally, from the husbands themselves: “We are behind our wives, we don’t understand, please do a trip for us!” So we responded with Momentum opportunities for men, which have quickly become one of our greatest follow-up programs, helping to lift the family together.
