90,000 Gather to Wage War Against Spiritual Inaction at The Send - TAYLOR BERGLUND CHARISMA NEWS

90,000 Gather to Wage War Against Spiritual Inaction at The Send

TAYLOR BERGLUND  CHARISMA NEWS
If Christians want to pray for awakening and revival, then they need to actually go out into the world and get to work. That was the message of The Send, a charismatic mega-event that continued without ceasing for nearly 12 hours straight on a sweltering Saturday in Orlando, Florida. According to the event's leaders, 90,000 people registered for and attended the free event, held in the Camping World Stadium.
"We are here because we are crazy enough to believe that we are here for the greatest move of God in human history," said Youth With a Mission's Andy Byrd. Though The Send is not led by any one individual or ministry, Byrd has been one of the event's primary collaborators and acted as de facto emcee, transitioning speakers and artists on and off the stage.
That's a full-time job, particularly when the exhaustive guest list includes Byrd, Francis Chan, Daniel Kolenda, Bill Johnson, Hillsong Young & Free, Lou Engle, Todd White, Jeremy Riddle, Jesus Culture, Mike Bickle, Lindy & the Circuit Riders, Michael Koulianos, Matt Gilman, Banning Liebscher, Darwin Hobbs, Cindy Jacobs, Loren Cunningham, Dunamis Music, Teo Hayashi, Tasha Cobbs, Steffany Gretzinger, Heidi Baker, Yasmin Pierce, Marco Barrientos, Nick Brennt, Amy Ward, Claudio Freidzon, Ruddy Gracia, Dominic Russo, Ben Fitzgerald, Sammy Rodriguez, Brian Barcelona and Loren and Darlene Cunningham. Frequently multiple speakers would share the stage simultaneously, passing off the microphone to one another as someone indicated they had a new thought or prophetic word to share. At one point during his message, Chan wryly remarked how unfair it was that The Send attendees got "20 speakers and 15 bands" while there are people around the world who have never heard the gospel.
Fixing that disparity was the main goal of The Send, to hear its speakers explain it. Evangelist Kolenda said he's used to seeing crowds this size in countries like Africa or Asia, quipping that in Africa, "We do our counselor training in a stadium this size." But he said he regularly fields questions about when a similar evangelistic outpouring would happen in North America. Kolenda said he believes wholeheartedly a new era of evangelism started Saturday in Orlando. He hoped The Send would be responsible for 5,000 people registering for missions training: "the greatest number of people who have ever signed up to go to the nations of the earth with the gospel."

Kolenda taught out of Luke 9, saying he felt empathy for the man who asked Jesus if he could bury his father or say goodbye to his family before following Him. But he now understands why that was impossible. He compared the world to a man drowning: you can't delay or wait, or he'll die. With Jesus, you cannot negotiate or procrastinate when it comes to evangelism. Kolenda later led the crowd in a prayer of salvation (which yielded more than 500 decisions for Christ).
Todd White went a step further when he spoke, saying that even some Christians still need to encounter the Father because they cling to liberal views regarding sexuality and abortion.
"The only way you can think abortion is OK is if you're still an orphan and don't know you're a son," White said. "The only way you can think killing a baby is OK is if you really don't know the Father. The only way you can say children have the right to change their gender is you're believing in the wrong God. The only way that you can be OK with same-sex marriage is you don't know the Father. I looked out in the crowd and saw some of you are upset about that. Get over yourself and believe the gospel. ... God doesn't hate people. I encounter people who are in the wrong relationships all the time. I'm not condemning them. They need to know who their Father is, because all that is fixed through the love of their Abba Dad."
Having established the evangelistic need in America and the world, Byrd laid out the primary missions fields that The Send wants to equip people to evangelize. These five fields are high schools, universities, neighborhoods, the missions field and the foster care system.
Barcelona, who has been preaching at high schools since he was 18 years old, shared incredible testimonies of starting "Jesus clubs" at high schools nationwide.
"Throughout prayer and worship, I feel the Lord gave this word to me: today high schools are being put on the missions maps," Barcelona said. "Today people will recognize the 15 million high school students as a missions fields. ... All across America, we are singing with one voice in Jesus clubs. A little over 12,000 students gathering in gymnasiums and auditoriums. High schools are now on the missions map."
Yasmin Pierce of Circuit Riders said God is raising up Christian women at universities.
"Jesus is absolutely moving in the university campuses of America," Pierce said. "He's also absolutely moving through the lives of young women in America. A movement is stirring of women who are breaking silence off their lives. Women are stepping out who are filled with the faith, with the risk taking, with the brave love of jesus Christ. And they are saying, 'I am willing.' ...Across college campuses, women are stepping out in this great love of Jesus Christ. Entire sororities, entire dorm buildings, entire campuses are getting turned upside down by the gospel."
And YWAM Kona's Shannon Casteel followed up Pierce's remarks with an evangelistic exhortation for all sexes.
"You are the plan," Casteel said. "Christ has passed His purpose onto us. You are the plan to seek and save the lost. You're the plan for your high school. You're the plan for your college and your intervarsity. You're the plan for the nations."
Regarding neighborhoods, Liebscher and Chan urged Christians to take everyday evangelism seriously, emphasizing it as a matter of personal responsibility. Liebscher said many believers, without knowing it, approach church with a worldly mindset rather than a kingdom mindset. He says people often come into church not wanting to be equipped, but wanting the church to do their Christian life for them. He compared it to eating out.
"We approach the church more like a restaurant where I'm coming because I don't want to do certain things," Liebscher said. "I don't want to cook. I don't want to clean up. So I pay you money and you do that."
But Liebscher said that doesn't work for church, because God explicitly demands certain things from every one of His disciples: praying for the sick, widow and orphan care, discipleship, generosity and evangelism.
"It is not your pastor's job to see your friend saved," Liebscher said. "... One of the biggest prophetic words God wants to give to the church right now is two words: 'personal responsibility.'"
Chan said he loves the next generation because it's enthusiastic and ready to serve the world in big, radical ways. He gave the example that if he called in a helicopter and announced he was leaving everything that night to evangelize a remote tribe and bring them the gospel, he could expect many attendees to join him. But many of those same people will fail or refuse to wake up early for Bible study.
Chan, teaching from Luke 16, said this generation must learn how to be faithful with small things before taking the leap to big things.
"I believe God's message today is first be faithful in your neighborhood," Chan said. "Do the people on your block know what you believe and that you love them? Have you warned them about who they're going to face? Have you told them they can have peace with God? If not, why would he want to send us somewhere else--to not do the same thing in another language? ... This generation, I love you, because you have dreams of great things God can do. But the struggle this generation sometimes has is waking up the next day and going to work, or waking up early so you can study God's Word. We have to be faithful with the little.
"I so want to see God do huge things, but he's not going to pick you unless you're faithful in the small things: with forgiveness, with relationships in the local church, with getting the pornography out of your life, with getting the immorality out of your life, [with] the discipline of studying the Word of God so you know what the heck you're talking about."
Several missionaries graced The Send's stage Saturday. Hayashi introduced Abe Hubert, a missionary to Brazil who said America's years of sowing missionaries into other countries has led to spiritual harvest in recent years.
"A great revival is happening," Hubert said. "We realize we are the result of years and years of missionaries from America and Europe who gave their lives like my parents did. Both my parents gave their lives in the Amazon serving Jesus. Now it's raising up a revival of young people to take this legacy, this heritage, to the nations."
But America's legacy in other countries is not always so positive. Jacobs said a common complaint she hears from foreign pastors and evangelists is that Americans come in with arrogant attitudes, like they can save the whole world without them. She affirmed the truth of these complaints and apologized for it.
Regarding the church's treatment of Latinos, Jacobs said, "We have been paternalistic. We have not acknowledged your great moves of God."
Jacobs added, "It's going to take the whole church to evangelize the whole world."
Loren Cunningham encouraged The Send's attendees to help missionary efforts in Mongolia and other countries. He said the church is "on the brink" of having enough workers to get the Word of God translated, at least orally, into every language on Earth by next Christmas.
Darlene Cunningham encouraged anyone on the fence about entering the missions field. She called herself a witness that "over 50 years ago, saying 'Yes, we'll go to the nations,' there's no greater adventure. If you don't feel qualified, none of us ever do."
Finally, Byrd called the attendees' attention to the mission field of adoption and foster care. He related his own story of adopting two daughters from the foster care system (in addition to four biological children). He said he wants the Millennial generation to be known as the "adoptive generation," standing in the face of the foster care crisis.
"You realize [the people in] this stadium could take in a third of all children in the foster care system?" Byrd challenged attendees. Instead, he said, only two percent of American adults adopt.
In response, Byrd announced the launch of the ministry 1MillionHome, with a goal to put one million foster children in permanent homes within 1,000 days.
"May adoptive love rise in Jesus' name," Byrd said.
"I want to pray for the end of abortion in America," Engle added. "But you cannot stand for this if--we have no authority unless we want children more than those who don't. Will you be the end of the abortion crisis in America? [If so,] let us adopt every unwanted child in America."
Francis Chan concluded the segment with a prayer reminding all in attendance they are adopted too: "You are a Father to the fatherless and You want us to be the same. How can the love of God be in us if we pass by those who are in need? I ask your forgiveness, Lord, for not thinking about all these children who are in need.
"Every time we cry out Abba Father from the depth of our souls, we are reminded of the many children who would love to say that."
As an array of speakers and artists took the stage, the crowd numbers held strong--and in fact even grew--in the face of an unusually hot February day. Temperatures surpassed 88 degrees Fahrenheit in Orlando, with few clouds in the sky when the Sun was its peak. Byrd and other speakers repeatedly exhorted attendees to drink water, and lines for drinking fountains at the stadium were longer than most lines for food and restrooms.
At one point, when sunset caused the west stadium walls to cast a shadow over most of the stadium's seating, Engle told attendees still in the sun to drink water and not worry: "Soon the shadows of heaven will cover you."
Yet despite the heat, over 17,000 people committed to join the Jesus Fast, a 40-day fast from March 1 to April 9. Engle said the fast was called because "before there was ever an original Jesus movement, there was an original Jesus fast."
Freidzon also spoke to the importance of fasting.
"In Argentina, a great revival started," Freidzon said. "How did that start? God spoke to my heart saying, 'It is time to get yourself locked in and to fast.' I'm calling this generation to make decisions, to seek God, because the Lord will bring the rain upon this earth. He will bring rain upon this generation. The times of dryness, of sadness, of desperation, of fear, all that's binding you, of oppression, it's falling down today when you start to seek God."
Johnson and White later received words of knowledge and White promised healing for every sexually transmitted disease and scars from past suicide attempts. At White's prompting, several people indicated in the crowd that they had checked and found the scars were gone. Bolz received words of knowledge that perfectly matched certain people in the crowd (Bolz, who was on his phone, swore he was checking notes and not researching or texting anyone feeding him information). Bolz called sharing those words of knowledge the most "nerve-wracking" thing he's ever done. Other leaders joined them on stage to intercede for healing for everyone in the audience and live-streaming from home.
Projections by The Send's primary collaborators at the start of the day may have sounded incredible to onlookers. Koulianos called The Send a "burning bush moment" when Jesus would "walk up and down every single aisle," triggering a mass baptism of the Holy Spirit that would infect entire schools, cities and nations. White said "many, many thousands of people" would get supernaturally healed. And Brian Brennt said he believed The Send would ultimately lead to 80 million coming to Christ in America, 200,000 people entering the missions field and the greatest gospel movement in the history of America.
Byrd was right when he said this group was "crazy enough to believe that we are here for the greatest move of God in human history."
But by the day's end, when Gretzinger and Riddle led tens of thousands in a primal shout of joy, the word "crazy" no longer seemed appropriate. The numbers had already started to trickle in. It wasn't 200,000, but by 8 p.m., Byrd revealed that 4,604 pledged to reach their neighborhoods, 2,017 pledged to reach their universities, 2,288 to reach their high schools and another 2,708 to reach the nations.)
Time will tell whether The Send really does kick off the greatest gospel movement in America's history or reinvigorate world evangelism. But for the 90,000 people who braved the heat and screamed their lungs out in Camping World Stadium, Byrd's closing prediction--delivered to thousands of cell phone lights swaying in a dark arena--rings true: "I believe we've crossed the threshold today and what we've begun today cannot be stopped. ... Five years from now we will be in a Jesus Movement beyond anything we could have imagined and a missions movement beyond anything we could have imagined, and it all starts tonight."

The Tide Is Turning: Daniel Kolenda, Todd White, Ben Fitzgerald, Eric Gilmour Encounter Revival in Europe - SAM RODRIGUEZ/CHRIST FOR ALL NATIONS

The Tide Is Turning: Daniel Kolenda, Todd White, Ben Fitzgerald, Eric Gilmour Encounter Revival in Europe

More than 14,000 people gathered for the Christ for All Nations' FIRE Conference in Budapest, Hungary. During the truly epic three-night event (August 24 - 26), 1,450 attendees submitted personal decision cards, signaling their choice to commit their lives to Jesus! That's more than 10 percent of the crowd!

In addition, volunteers passed out 500,000 Hungarian-language copies of lead evangelist Daniel Kolenda's new booklet, Reckless Love. A staggering 25 percent of the city received a copy of this short but powerful volume. Reckless Love explores Christ's harrowing parable of the prodigal son—a tale of God's profligate, never-ending, no-cost-too-high-love for humanity. Now, half of a million people (plus their family and friends) can read this clear, personal invitation to "come home" in their own language.

The incredible lineup of speakers included Daniel Kolenda, Todd White, Ben Fitzgerald, Eric Gilmour, Jean-Luc Trachsel, Peter Vandenberg (Vice President of CfaN) and Russell K. Benson. Plus, the crowd engaged in worship lead by some of the best leaders, vocalist and musicians in Hungary. The music team was joined by worship evangelist and CfaN staffer, Charles Ciepiel.

Ciepiel said of the meetings, "It's truly tremendous to see God sweeping urban Europe. Most of Europe is 1 percent Jesus-following Christians. And cities are particularly hard here. So, to see 14,000 people show up for a Holy Spirit-filled meeting ... it just brings tears to our eyes. And the sincerity is so real—God is truly starting something in Budapest, and it's going to spread."
CfaN's Vice President, Peter Vandenberg, echoed that sentiment with his commanding opening prayer, "May the fires of revival spread from here, right across Europe!"

God validated the word with numerous miraculous healings. One woman suffered a shoulder injury years ago that left her in chronic pain so severe that, often, she could barely sleep. During one of the services, the Holy Spirit moved on her. Suddenly, she was throwing her arm in the air, praising God for a total, supernatural recovery.

With numbers and testimonies like this, we can be sure that the tide is turning in Europe.

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

The much-anticipated Reinhard Bonnke Farewell Gospel Crusade started yesterday in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. This historic crusade could easily be one of the biggest Christian meetings in the history of Christendom and also one of the greatest, if not the greatest, evangelistic harvest of all times. Thousands of local churches and hundreds of thousands of Christians have been mobilized for the event.
Peter Vandenberg, CfaN's vice president, observes, "It's the first day, and the vast field is filling with people as they stream in from around the great city of Lagos. Tens of thousands of volunteer workers are already in place, and the huge choir of over 20,000 voices is ready to sing. The place is filled with a feeling of great expectation as multitudes gather to receive." Cities never sleep, but Lagos, Africa's largest city and economic hotbed, is shutting down for a time of refreshing, healing and hope with Evangelists Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda.
Bonnke's latest book, Holy Spirit: Are You Flammable or Fireproof?, is a key feature of this crusade. The book is officially released today, the 8th of November, which is also the first day of the crusade, and evangelist Bonnke is dedicating it to be a tool for evangelism around the globe, and 300,000 copies are being sown to further the message of the gospel. They will be given away to evangelists and leaders attending the impartation services in Lagos, Nigeria. Bonnke notes "With every revelation I received about the Holy Spirit and His work, my life and ministry were transformed, and it made me more effective and productive."
Indeed, Lagos is the place to be for the next five days. However, viewers around the world can also tune in to experience this historic life-changing event. CFAN.org/LAGOS will be streaming the event live to millions of homes around the world. As well, the Christian media giants TBN and DAYSTAR will be broadcasting the event over the next few weeks.

Hundreds Gather to Hear the Gospel in Second 'Jerusalem Encounter - CBN NEWS

Evangelist Todd White (center) (YouTube)

Standing With Israel
More than a thousand people from six continents are taking part this week in the second annual Jerusalem Encounter conference sponsored by FIRM—the Fellowship of Israel-Related Ministries. It isn't a conventional gathering because many of the participants have traveled throughout Israel, seeing and experiencing the places where the events described in the Bible took place.
Wayne Hilsden, the founder and president of FIRM, welcomed the crowd in Tuesday's opening session. "This Jerusalem encounter and the week-long journey many of you have been on across this land, is designed to pave the way for you to encounter the Lord, as well as encounter the land and encounter the people in this land," Hilsden said.
Daniel Kolenda, president of Christ for All Nations and one of the featured speakers, led a group of 500 people from many nations, including the U.S., China and Brazil. He was surprised to find that on a tour aimed at believing Christians, some of those who came responded to a salvation call. Kolenda described a moment on the Sea of Galilee with evangelist Todd White, who was one of the speakers.
"We had five boats tied together, and Todd White was there with us," Kolenda recalled. "So he gave an altar call, and you would think that on a tour, there wouldn't be people who needed to be born again. And yet people were climbing over the sides of the boats to come to the middle to get saved. We've seen people getting healed and getting saved, so it's more than just a place where we're having some sort of educational, academic visit of the land of Israel. It's really been for many people, a life-changing experience with the power of God," Kolenda said.
The visitors to Jerusalem also witnessed opposition to the conference Tuesday from ultra-Orthodox Jewish protestors who tried to disrupt the gathering in the heart of the city.
Chad Holland, senior pastor with the King of Kings Community, the host congregation, told participants it was not an unusual occurrence. He described it as "the kingdom of God really hitting people and making them upset." Holland prayed for the protesters that, "in the name of Yeshua [Jesus], the Lord would "invade their sleep, invade their dreams and visions" and that "all the Scriptures they have read in the past will now come to pass."
Those attending will hear from a number of Messianic ministry leaders living in Israel, as well as some featured speakers from the U.S., including Kolenda and author and radio host Dr. Michael Brown. The Jerusalem Encounter conference ends Thursday night.
FIRM is livestreaming portions of the conference on its website

What Joseph's Story Teaches Us About This Powerful Role of Holy Spirit - DANIEL KOLENDA CHARISMA NEWS

An intimate relationship with Holy Spirit can turn your wilderness into a fresh river. (Pixabay)

What Joseph's Story Teaches Us About This Powerful Role of Holy Spirit

DANIEL KOLENDA  CHARISMA NEWS
Who is a more faithful comrade in the wilderness than the Holy Spirit? Whose friendship is more valuable during troubled times than the most wonderful, kind, loyal, and awesome confidante in the Universe? When taking stock of your resources, remember this most precious, personal gift of His presence and fellowship. The living God, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, is going before you, walking beside you, guarding behind you, resting upon you and dwelling within you. What more do you need?
The greater our revelation of the Holy Spirit's presence, the greater our comfort. And the greater our comfort, the less the wilderness feels like a wilderness. This is not to say that the Holy Spirit will inoculate us from all pain and suffering. Instead, it means the depth of the Holy Spirit's comfort enables us, not only to maintain our joy and character in the wilderness, but also to flourish there in Christ more than ever.
"The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. ... Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame man shall leap as a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For in the wilderness waters shall break out and streams in the desert. The parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water; in the habitation of jackals where each lay, there shall be grass with reeds and rushes" (Is. 35:1-2a, 5-7).
How can we have a "wilderness" so colorful, alive, and exhilarating? Through the comforting, transforming presence of the Holy Spirit. This is what makes the wilderness totally worth the trouble. It gives us the opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit's comfort on a level we would never have experienced otherwise. Nothing is more valuable than the awareness of the ever-present God. If you have entered a wilderness, determine you will use this as an occasion to discover more about the magnificent reality of the Holy Spirit.
The young patriarch, Joseph, faced many difficulties as God trained him for royalty, including his unjust imprisonment in Egypt before his rise to power. At that precise part of the story, however, the narrator makes a comment that is striking for its simplicity and magnitude. "But the Lord was with Joseph" (Gen. 39:21).
The story already mentioned God's presence with Joseph several times. That's what made him successful in Potiphar's house. Yet now that Joseph's situation changed from his master's house to the jailhouse, his spiritual position remained the same. Just as God was before, so is He now "with Joseph" even in prison. The radical change of circumstances did not mean that God had left Joseph. He was still with His chosen vessel, directing Joseph's steps and forging his character.
But here's the secret. The Lord was not "with" Joseph merely in the physical sense while remaining detached emotionally. No, the Lord was with Joseph in the fullest sense of the word. He was experiencing the trial and suffering right along with His faithful servant. The Holy Spirit enclosed himself within Joseph's sufferings so they could go through the wilderness together, companions in the emotions and pressures of the experience.
This is how "the Spirit helps our weaknesses" (Rom. 8:26a). He is groaning with us when we "groan within ourselves" (Rom. 8:23). His presence is not shallow and technical, but deep and intimate. The Spirit experiences our wilderness from inside us, embedded in our unique personality and perspective. Thus we can immerse ourselves in Him as He is within us. He is the one who assisted Jesus through the wilderness. He knows how to suffer the desert while fully understanding God's will and how we should pray. He knows our thoughts, weaknesses, strengths and ways of responding to pressure. Thus He knows exactly how to help us. He is our divine strength and knows how to walk us through.
So when you assess your resources, take stock of the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit. Realize that God Himself is with you, making His fullness available to you. You are not alone. Let the Spirit's peace and strength become yours. Let His comfort soothe you, even when there is no earthly source of consolation. Then your desert will become a sanctuary, your wilderness the garden of God.
This Bible study has been taken from Daniel Kolenda's booklet Surviving Your Wilderness and is for those who want to discover God's way for conquering their wilderness times.

Evangelist Who Helped Win 75 Million Souls for Christ Announces 'Farewell Crusade' (Reinhard Bonnke) - CBN News

Evangelist Who Helped Win 75 Million Souls for Christ Announces 'Farewell Crusade'
Reinhard Bonnke

CBN News 03-03-2017

The number is staggering: 75,913,155. That's how many people have come to Christ through the ministry of Reinhard Bonnke.
The German-born evangelist is founder of Christ for All Nations (CfaN). Now, he's preparing for his final crusade, and has decided to go back to where it all began more than 40 years ago.
"The Lord spoke to me, that I should go back for one more crusade in Africa," Bonnke said on CfaN's website. "I want not only to see a gigantic harvest of souls but TO PASS MY BURNING TORCH to this generation."
Bonnke, his wife Anni, and their young son moved to the tiny African nation of Lesotho in 1969. The couple spent seven years working there as missionaries. It wasn't easy.
Bonnke says it was during those difficult years that he started praying to see more souls saved across the African continent.
He says God gave him a vision for "a continent washed in the blood of Jesus Christ."
In 1974, Christ for All Nations was birthed, and since then more than 75 million people have accepted Christ through the ministry.
"Millions in Africa now know the Holy Spirit, thanks to one man's incredible commitment to a singular God-given vision," said Peter Vandenberg, executive vice president of CfaN.
All these years later, Bonnke says the vision still burns in his soul.
"Whether I am eating or drinking, awake or asleep, the vision is ever-present. It never leaves me."
Now, at 77, Bonnke is passing the torch to a new generation of evangelists as he prepares to retire after more than 40 years in ministry.
Lead evangelist of CfaN, Daniel Kolenda, has been tapped to succeed Bonnke. But before he leaves, Bonnke wants to return to the continent he loves so much for one final farewell gospel crusade.
He's picked Lagos, Nigeria to hold the event later this Fall.
"Recently, I traveled to Lagos, Nigeria to meet with the spiritual leadership there and they gave their unanimous support."
Although the crusade isn't happening until November, preparations are well underway.
"Currently we plan to recruit 500,000 counselors, 200,000 intercessors, a choir of over 23,000 and a security force of over 10,000," said John Darku, CfaN's African director. "There is great excitement from all the churches in the country, and we are expecting a spectacular harvest of people coming to Christ."
CBN Senior International Correspondent George Thomas witnessed the impact of Bonnke's ministry while growing up in Africa.
"I am native of the African continent...we would hear these reports whether in Botswana, in Swaziland, in Sudan, in Nigeria, you would hear these incredible stories of thousands of thousands of people coming," Thomas recalled.
Thomas says the potential magnitude of his final crusade could be huge.
According to CfaN, the last time Bonnke held an event in Nigeria in 2000, 6 million people attended and 3.4 million made decisions for Christ.
"I don't think personally that there is one single man or ministry that has had this much of a profound impact on the length and the breadth of this beautiful continent than Reinhard Bonnke," Thomas added.
A sentiment echoed by CfaN's Daniel Kolenda.
"I'm thrilled to join with Reinhard in this vision, and know that the results of this crusade will be farther-reaching and of even greater consequence than we can even imagine."
In a Facebook post, Bonnke said, "This will be a truly momentous event, where we believe millions will, not only hear the Gospel, but will be saved, healed, and delivered!"
For a man who has witnessed the power of the Gospel countless times, Bonnke says he wants to see the Lord move in new and greater ways this November in Nigeria.
"I believe God is going to do something I have never seen before."

I Will Not Sell My Soul for 'Success' - Dr. Michael Brown

I Will Not Sell My Soul for 'Success'

Dr. Michael Brown
Dr. Michael Brown

In the Line of Fire, by Michael Brown
I absolutely believe in the glorious, overwhelming success of the gospel, but I will not sell my soul or compromise my convictions for the sake of carnal "success."
I encourage you to stand strong in your resolve as well. It's better to be scorned by this world than to lose your integrity.
Recently, a young pastor wrote to me with a heavy heart.
He had been invited to a closed leadership meeting, with many well-known pastors in attendance. He explained to me that they talked openly about not using entire verses or passages from the Bible in their sermons and that it was fine to pull snippets of verses and to build entire messages from them, as if too much of the Word would drive people away.
He said that they instructed the leaders in attendance not to speak on sin, judgment, conviction, obedience, morality, etc., stating that it is not our job to convict of sin, only the Holy Spirit's job, as if the hundreds of verses in the Bible dealing with these issues were irrelevant, and as if they knew better than Jesus and the apostles, who often preached with words of deep, biting conviction as they labored together with the Holy Spirit.
And of course, he wrote, they told the other leaders to avoid politics and political issues, which is similar to the mindset of those who chose not to get involved in the divisive slave-trade controversy in centuries past or to oppose the Nazis last century.
This, they said, was the path to follow if you wanted to be "successful."
I categorically reject such a definition of "success."
It has nothing to do with the true success of the gospel, which I love and revel in before God.
To be absolutely clear, and so that no one thinks that this is a matter of "sour grapes," I am not speaking about any particular ministry and I have no idea which pastors and leaders were at this meeting. I love and embrace the expansive blessing of God.
By God's grace, I have had the privilege of preaching in some of the largest and most influential megachurches in the world, and their growth was the result of the work of the Spirit in their midst, not the result of carnal techniques.
One of our ministry school grads, Daniel Kolenda, has taken over the leadership of Reinhard Bonnke's Christ for All Nations, and Daniel regularly preaches to crowds of multiplied hundreds of thousands. Praise God for Spirit-anointed, Jesus-exalting, Word-based success!
When God opens new doors for our ministry on radio and TV, in print and online, or when He blesses our material with greater circulation and impact, I rejoice and take this as an answer to prayer, as providing another avenue to advance the work of the kingdom. Onward and upward in Jesus' name!
So I am all for growth and numbers and prosperity when it comes from heaven as a gift from God, although I know that often, the most significant gospel work is totally hidden and obscure, taking place behind closed doors, with God using unknown saints who live in the midst of persecution and poverty. Their lasting fruit will put most of us to shame.
That's one reason Jesus said that many who are first will be last and many who are last will be first.
Remember, it was the church of Laodicea that Jesus rebuked saying, "For you say, 'I am rich, and have stored up goods, and have need of nothing,' yet do not realize that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked" (Rev. 3:17).
In stark contrast, He said to Smyrna, "I know your works and tribulation and poverty (but you are rich). And I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Look, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tried, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life" (Rev. 2:9-10).
In the same way, He rebuked Sardis, which had a reputation for being alive but was dead (see Rev. 3:1) and commended Philadelphia, which had little strength but had not denied His name (see Rev. 3:8).
What would our worldly minded leaders have told these congregations? And how would they have rated the "success" of these different churches? Obviously, their perspective would be a lot different than the perspective of the Lord.
Without a doubt, we have different callings and emphases, and while we should all do our best to be faithful to God's Word and "balanced," it's clear that one may be called to emphasize evangelism, another social justice, another holiness, another grace, another family and another the Spirit, just to mention a few. Some congregations excel in administration and management, while others excel in building community, and still others excel in sending out missionaries.
That's what makes the body of Christ a truly functioning body.
Let us learn from each other however we can, and let us complement each other in the work of the ministry, honoring one another as colleagues rather than criticizing each other as competitors.
But let us not deviate from the high calling of God, let us not form a theology that bypasses the cross, let us not water down the Word, and let us not mistake earthly growth and "success" for the blessing of God.
In the words of Charles Spurgeon, one of the most truly successful gospel preachers of all time, "Character is always lost when a high ideal is sacrificed on the altar of conformity and popularity."
Don't sacrifice your soul on that very seductive altar.
