Trusting the process isn't ever easy, as a general rule. As humans, we are naturally wired, and even socially conditioned, to try to take matters into our own hands. We desperately cling to the notion that if we can control every input, then we can control the output. Fortunately for us, life doesn't happen in a vacuum. Things are dynamic, circumstances are fluid, and change is the only constant. This can be unnerving as we are striving to control our own journey.
Today, I'd like to encourage you to take a different perspective: Instead of trying to control every step of the journey, what if we just tried ENJOYING each step? Instead of scratching and clawing to hold onto any semblance of control we can find, what if we just made the CHOICE to surrender? The very Spirit of God that gives us life is also beautifully keeping this universe of existence in a very delicate balance. If we trust that God is Love, then it only makes sense that as we trust, the outcome will flow from love. Our mantra should be that "everything is working out for my highest good." Everything though? YES, quite literally, EVERYTHING. Sometimes the thing we perceive as "bad" at first glance ends up being the catalyst for our biggest transformation or our greatest breakthrough.
I once read a story on the notion of "good" or "bad." Let's use an example of a fictional person named Steve. Steve is riding his bicycle and falls, breaking his leg. Our initial response is that this is definitely BAD. So, Steve goes to the hospital, and while having his broken leg examined, doctors discover a cancer in the marrow that is in very early stages, and easily treated before it is a life-threatening problem. Steve wouldn't have discovered this until the cancer had spread much further if not for breaking his leg. At this point, was breaking his leg really a "bad" thing?
Seeing From a Different Perspective
I feel it is important to point out that these things don't always or even predominantly come from calamity. This time, I'll use a more personal example, but nothing too juicy. When I was a small child, my parents were looking to buy a new home. They found one they just loved, and immediately put in an offer. The offer was rejected, so they went up a little bit. In the time between acceptance and closing, something went "wrong," and the deal fell through. My parents were pretty disappointed for about a week. It was exactly one week later when my parents were visiting my mom's parents (in the next neighborhood over), and a neighbor stopped to talk to them outside and told them about a house that was about to go up for sale due to the couple relocating out of state. The home was just under double the size, in a better neighborhood, with a much larger lot, and my parents got it for $10,000 less than the home they THOUGHT they had to have.
My point in all of this is that sometimes, what LOOKS to be one way is actually something totally different when a different perspective is presented. Trusting in the process is an acknowledgement that we don't see the entire picture; but rather, only one piece of the puzzle. Maybe the years you've spent pushing against that brick wall was never about moving the wall. Instead, maybe it was about strengthening you for what was to come next. Especially lately, my life has gone anything but according to plan, and I'm okay with that. I'll share in another post just how drastically things have changed with me just trusting the process.
If you don't see or hear this anywhere else today, YOU MATTER! YOU ARE IMPORTANT! YOU'VE GOT THIS!
With love.

I sense the Lord saying, "The older stars in My kingdom are going to shine brighter and do greater exploits than ever before!" I sense there is a special anointing coming upon older men and women in the body of Christ. God is not through using you. Your age is not against you, it is for you. Job 12:12 says, "Wisdom is with the elderly, and understanding comes with long life." You have more wisdom now than ever. With years comes understanding.

This anointing is going to cause you to live longer. Many of you have not planned to live long enough. It will be an anointing similar to Caleb when he reached 85 years. He said to the Lord, "I am as strong now as when I was 40, and I want to take another mountain!" There is coming a "spiritual fountain of youth" into your midst, a renewing, a release of God's strength. Psalm 68:28a says, "Your God has commanded your strength." God is commanding His strength into you! The God's Word Translation says, "Your God has decided you will be strong!"

Why Many of You Will Have to Live Longer

Many of you are going to have to live longer because God is not through using you. Many of you are going to go into a second "childhood" in the Spirit. You will be reactivated by God to live out the dreams you are only dreaming about right now. People and relatives will laugh and say, "You are going to do what? You are going to go where? At your age?" But that anointing is going to rise up within you to take mountains, to do exploits, to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

Our older years are when we are in our prime to be used and bring forth fruit. Psalm 91:16 says, "With long life I will satisfy [you] and show [you] My salvation." There is an anointing coming upon God's people to live longer. The joy of the Lord, which is our strength, is lengthening our days upon the earth.

Many have made out their wills, but before you think about leaving, check out your Father's will for you. I don't think you are going anywhere for a while. As Abraham and Sarah conceived in old age, you are about to conceive and live to see your Isaac ... your impossible dream!

Remember, "too old" is not in the Bible.

Jesus asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" They replied, some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets." Then He asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Then as Jesus answered Peter, He was actually saying (paraphrased) Peter, you have received this answer not by natural knowledge but by revelation from My father in heaven and upon this rock (revelation) I will build My church, and the gates of hell (imprisonment from the enemy through the kingdom of darkness) will not prevail against it. Then Jesus went on to say, "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Jesus was speaking metaphorically of spiritual keys. He has given these keys to us, the body of Christ. He has given us authority in His name, power to bind the works of the devil, and loose people from bondage. He has given us keys to heal others from sickness, unshackle those who are bound, unlock and set people free from religious traditions and tear down strongholds. Keys are small and may seem insignificant but they could open huge doors. Small keys are used to open huge vaults that contain valuable possessions, but also lock them to keep thieves out. The apostle Paul said: For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. We need new keys when the Lord opens new doors because the old keys will no longer fit.
These Keys
The Lord says, I have given you the keys to My kingdom and the authority to use My name. These keys will unlock the doors and deliver people from every kind of bondage. These keys will unlock shackles, set people free from all demonic oppression and release many from every affliction and stronghold. These are the keys that will set the captives free who are addicted to alcohol, drugs and pornography. They are keys to open the tombs and deliver those who need to be set free from religious mindsets and those who are in bondage to religious rituals. They will open the prison doors and deliver those from occult practices, powers of darkness, and from all the power of the enemy. I have given you the keys that will open the portals of heaven and bring revelation. These keys will also release My Glory on this earth as it is in heaven.
These are keys to the Spiritual gifts, which will be used in miracles, signs and wonders in a greater dimension than you have known before. These keys will unlock the door to your destiny and as you receive My gift of the keys to the Kingdom, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. I am releasing keys in prayer and intercession that will unlock the hidden mysteries of My word. I Am He who holds the Key of David. When I open a door no man can shut it and when I shut a door no man could open it. I will open the eyes of your understanding on a new level as I reveal the secrets of ancient mysteries. So come before Me and receive these keys which is your inheritance as a child of God as I release them into your hands; says the Lord.
Daniel 2:22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.
Matthew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

"Don't be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself" (Phil. 1:28, NIV).

Before getting up to minister recently, my wife sensed that I was battling intimidation. She leaned over to me and whispered, "Your new name is 'Confidence!" Immediately, a lion roared inside me, and an alarm went off in hell. I rose up to minister, and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah took over the meeting. The Lord is renaming you today also. Your new name is "Confidence!"

Laying Aside

I have found a key that unlocks the cage of that lion who lives inside of us as believers. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us" (Heb.12:1 KJV).

"Laying aside" is a powerful command that changes our perspective. When you lay something aside it is still there, but you don't focus on it, for the next verse says, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." Now when intimidation attacks me, I have learned to lay it aside and do what God has called me to do.

The devil works overtime to steal our confidence to do the work of the Lord. But we are not alone. The Lord allows our insecurities and fears to be exposed to deal with the root of them. So be encouraged and don't stop. When you feel insecure or fearful, lay it aside, and get up and let the lion roar. God is faithful. "Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it" (1 Thess. 5:24, MEV).

I received an email recently from a dear sister who plays the piano for masses. She was fighting insecurity about performing perfectly at a special upcoming ceremony. I sensed the Lord giving me this word for her, "Lay aside your fear. Jesus will play the piano." Hours later, she sent me this response:

"PRAISE REPORT! I just finished a run through the music and Jesus did indeed play the piano! I had to keep reminding myself that He was doing it and I didn't need to stick my nose in. When I first saw my friend Rachel, she asked me if I was ready. Very unlike me, I answered, 'Yes!' PTL."

The Root of All Fears

Most of our insecurity and fears are surface symptoms with a deep root. The Lord deals with our weaknesses to make us strong. I have battled insecurity and fear most of my life. It started the moment my head hit the road so hard that it caused a bone growth on my forehead. The bike wreck happened when I was 5. The trauma of what followed with surgery and doctor check-ups for most of my younger years opened the door to a giant fear, a door that never got shut until recently.

I spoke at a conference recently in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I was checking out hotel prices. They were so high I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night. I kept looking around for a reasonable priced one. I found it. 'The Cemetery Inn" near the battlefields. Arriving home after that weekend, greeting my wife, she said, "So-and-so called, and he wants you to call him about those two cemetery plots he offered you a long time ago." I couldn't help but think.

I just came from The Cemetery Inn, and now someone is offering me two cemetery plots at half price. The half price concerned me too. I said, "Lord, I don't like the timing of this. I just came from ministering for You all weekend. What is going on?" Two days later, I was to meet the brother at the cemetery memorial park to sign the transfer papers. After I arrived, I got tired of waiting in the office for him, so I went outside.

When I walked outside, all I could see were grave markers. As an eerie feeling came over me, the Lord spoke, "Son, this is the root of all your fears your whole life: Every doctor visit and the fear of every report of your physical exams. You are afraid to die. You battled it since the moment your head hit the road when you were 5 years old. When you were 7 with a brain tumor, death hounded you again. Then 14 years ago, with a blood clot in the artery of your heart with a 50-50 chance of survival, it stampeded you again. Three days later with a heart catheterization, your heart stopped on that table, and they jumped it back to beat again. Have you noticed by now I have never let you die? I still hold the keys to hell, death and the grave."

He continued, "What do you think about the Scripture that says, 'To be absent from the body is to be present with Me?' No pain, no doctors, no devil. Fully alive in My unspeakable presence forever and ever? What are your thoughts on this?"

For a moment, I was speechless. He was right. I just faced my worst fear that had made me vulnerable to an endless list of others. And I failed to compare it to eternity. That day, I found peace in a cemetery. As I left those grave markers, He spoke again, "By the way son, the same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in you. Go live. Go live. Don't be afraid of living. Enjoy every minute of it."

What's your fear? Losing a loved one, a job or your reputation? Maybe you are afraid to die and afraid to live. Drag your fears to Jesus today. Let His peace envelop you and His perfect love cast out all fear. Tell Him you are in this for the long haul no matter what.

God's Crazy Love Does It

In my worship time recently, I heard the Lord whisper, "I'm crazy about you, Bill. I'm absolutely crazy about you." I said, "What? Lord, why would You be crazy about me? I fall so short of Your glory." He said, "I know, but you trust Me. You still trust Me to do what you cannot do. That thrills Me. That's what makes Me crazy about you."

How about you? Do you know that you can thrill Him? Trust Him today, and you will experience His crazy love for you and His peace that surpasses all understanding. 'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.' The Lord would rather have us trust Him than figure Him out.

Let these words redeem our time on earth:

I wanna live like there's no tomorrow; love like I'm on borrowed time. It's good to be alive.— "It's Good to Be Alive," Jason Gray

For several years the Lord has been showing me how He is raising up radical Holy Spirit filled believers to bring an outpouring of His Glory to this nation. The past few weeks I have been seeing this coming to pass. There are thousands of millennials who are radical for Jesus, know Him as God, and are pressing in to do great exploits.

This remnant is being groomed for a mighty revival. They are ready to be used by God to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the leaper and set the captives free. They know how to fight the lions, the bears and behead the giants. They learned through personal experience that big battles require strong warriors. They refuse to stay in neutral gear.

King David was known for slaying Goliath whom the Israelites feared but were not able to defeat. David had already killed a lion and a bear before he killed Goliath. He had been through many personal battles but he always came out victorious. He was a king and a leader as well as a poet and a musician. He was a warrior and as we see in the psalms, a man after Gods own heart. He was determined and relentless against the enemy's plots and will never retreated when faced with a challenge.

There was a time when David was running from Saul, and the Lord sent him to the cave of Adullam. There were four hundred men in this cave who were in distress, in debt and discontented. David taught them how to be invincible warriors, raised them up and trained them as a mighty army. In 1 Samuel chapter 30 when David and his men returned home from war, they reached Ziklag and found it destroyed by fire and their wives, sons and daughters were taken captive by the Amalekites.

David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. They reached the breaking point and the people even turned against David wanting to stone him. But then something rose up in David. He strengthened himself in the Lord, and he asked the Lord; "Shall I pursue this troop? Will I overtake them?" The Lord responded: "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.

The Lord says, "I have called you and chosen from a young age. You have slayed the lion and the bear and beheaded the giants. I will continue to train your hands for war, your fingers for battle and you will become victorious over every assault that rises against you. You have worshiped Me in times of distress, yet you have not backed down in the face of adversity.

Although the battle has been fierce at times and there are things seem to be destroyed and lost forever, you will recover all that has been plundered from the enemy. As you continue to encourage yourself in Me, you will regain your spiritual momentum.

Stand Steadfast

When calamity comes in as an ambush, stand steadfast in the armor that I have provided for you. Continue to resist all discouragement and stand immovable knowing that I have given you the ability and the authority to overcome every assault that is raised up against you. Do not deviate from the truth but stand steadfast to your convictions. Stand on the promises that are available to you. Do not allow the enemy to intimidate you and don't be moved by his ineffectual strategies. Rise up as men and women of faith and take the position as the warrior that I have created you to be.

Do not allow fear or bitterness to take root and refuse to be moved by situations in the natural. Take every thought captive and trust Me for your provision. I will not fail you or lead you astray but you shall surely pursue, overtake and without fail recover all that has been lost or stolen says the Lord."

1 Samuel 30:6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

1 Samuel 30:8-10 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, "Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?" And He answered him, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all." So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind. But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor.

1 Samuel 30:18-20 David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking either small or great, sons or daughters, spoils or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all. Then David took all the flocks and herds they had driven before those other livestock, and said, "This is David's spoil."
