“We Came Expecting and Ready. Then God Shows Up” - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

“We Came Expecting and Ready. Then God Shows Up

“Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38, NKJV

A good friend and co-worker at Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina shared this testimony of what the Lord called him to do, and in faith, asked him to trust and obey.

Read his testimony, and then ask the Lord for faith to also hear and obey. It will cost you too.

But nothing else is really worth it...

On a Friday night in July 2019, when I was on my way to the worship service at Antioch, I was running late. I was supposed to be playing percussion on the worship team but was not feeling that well; even contemplating to not go. I was actually on Cherry Road in Rock Hill, about to get on I77. I called my wife Robbie and told her I think I am just going to come back home. She responded to me with, “Just go and if you don't feel well then just come home.”

Upon arrival, I walked into worship a little after 7:15 pm. At some point, while I was in worship I was drawn to Ed Brigham, the appointed leader of the night. The Lord began to speak to me by saying “New Day”.

I then began to see in the spirit Ed standing on a beachhead looking out at either a sunrise or sunset. Then understanding came that it was Ed looking out and wondering what he was observing as I was walking up to give him the word, “New Day.” After I shared this with him, I turned away in worship and prayer. As I did so, I was still seeing this ocean scene and began to see an old pier having all the pillars there but most of the top planks where missing.

I asked the Lord what this was and what does it mean, as I walked towards the back of the sanctuary.

He brought to my attention the lighting in the place. The front was well lit, and the back was not lit.

The Lord began to speak to me about how this is representative of where things are in the body.  Many things are seen but there are many things yet to be brought into the light.

I watched those worshiping in the back part of the sanctuary. The Holy Spirit was showing me that what I was hearing and seeing was of many in the body, who are faithful worshipers, are often in the quiet, unseen places of obscurity.  These brothers and sisters of the faith have much to offer but for various reasons like to be in the safe, unseen places of worship.

Looking at this old pier, I was impressed with the realization that likened them to the pillars as that of these faithful brothers and sisters. They were still standing and remained unmoved in their resolve devotion and love, both to the Lord and their fellow kin of the faith.

I asked the Lord what happened to this pier that put it in such disrepair. Was it a storm? Was it neglect? Was it abandoned? It was a little of all. Also, that man had built upon doctrinal acceptations that could not withstand the realities of the environment called into.  Yet the boards that remained are the doctrinal truths of the Father’s love established on His truth.

I watched as the Lord started to rebuild this pier. The pillars were being replaced with new ones being brought up from beneath them. It was an uprising that was reestablishing placement of the old pillars as the top decking of the pier. These pillars were being laid next to the planks that remained.

I stood there looking at those who were worshiping the Lord in the back of the sanctuary. I heard the Lord say, “I am calling up those who worship Me in the quiet place, who often doubt their value to me. I am calling all out to establish what I am about to finish building. You need not doubt what I have placed in you by the purity of My love, which is for you and in you. I need the gentleness and humble spirit in you to come forth. Come into the light, My faithful ones.”

I began to sense that those in the shadows of worship need to hear this. “You are valued and you need to share what I have placed in you.”

I then walked over and sat down on one of the camera stands to just soak, process, and listen to the Lord. I could continue to see this prier being built, as the sun was rising upon it. It was serene as it glistened with reflections of sunlight from the water mist on the boards. The pier had no end in sight. It was extended out over the sea.

Pastor Liz (Wyns) began sharing from the pulpit about surrendering everything to God. I heard her say something about our need to give it all to God. At this time the vision of the pier began to fade away as I heard Liz say you need to place it or leave it all at the altar of God.

Then the Lord began to speak to me about keys.

What I began to sense and hear was shocking to me. I heard the Father say, “Take your keys off your ring (this was my personal keys with my house and car keys.) I sat there in reluctant obedience as I took off the church building keys which I still had 4 of them on my key ring. I placed them in my other pocket. Upon doing so the Lord began to tell me that I needed to bring them up and place them on the altar.

I sat there telling the Father all the reasons why I need my keys. In the process of my debating with the Lord, He said that when Don Williamson gets up and goes to the altar, you are to go kneel beside him and place your keys on the altar. In my own reasoning, I thought, “Like Don is going to go up and kneel at the altar?” so I'm okay.

I believe it was within a minute after the Lord spoke this that Don stands up and starts walking forward. Upon witnessing this I began to say to myself, “No Don, don't go kneel at the altar.” But he does, and I was thinking, “Is this really happening?”

So, I get up and start heading to the altar. I was walking up with sadness and trembling in my whole body. I was still in a surreal place of shock with all this.

Kneeling at the altar, I placed my keys on it in prayer. I began to hear the Father speak. “Now you are laying down man’s authority in the keys you carried. This building became something it was never supposed to be to you. It has possessed you, for you had taken on responsibility and identities that were never meant for you to carry.”

I was repenting and asking forgiveness for allowing this to happen. I felt things being lifted off my back. The Father was almost apologetic in His tone towards me.

He went on to say, “The keys and authority I have called you to walk in have nothing to do with the keys you held for the building.”

I spent some time there on my knees at the altar as the Father dealt with me. When we were ending our time there, I spoke to the Father saying, “I just can’t leave these keys here. They are to the building.” He responded to me, “You may pick up the keys but they are to go on a separate key ring. They are never to go back on your personal key ring. There needs to be a separation.”

I got up and walked away, sitting down and wondering what this separation of the keys meant. I knew part of it was in how I identified or how my identity had become “all things building”, which is not who I am.

Don Williamson at some point walked back to where I was sitting and shared with me something about that he had given me the key I needed, but honestly, I did not recall it all. I was still in a place of bewilderment and processing.

At the end of the evening I was encouraged to go to receive prayer from Ed. I did. The word I received from him was, “The Lord said you are fit for duty. He has given you a new stripe and authority to walk.”

Notre Dame Cathedral. But God. - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Notre Dame Cathedral.
But God.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8, NAS)

Much as been reported on TV, written in newspapers and social media, and spoken all over the world, about the burning of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. It is a major event, of destruction and forever loss. This type of structure just cannot be replaced, no matter how much money will be pledged and spent to bring it back to its former glory. (I think of the 2nd Jewish Temple and its destruction in 70 A.D.)

I have never been to France. but I do know Frenchmen, having served with Derek Prince Ministries for 8 years and knowing the French director of the ministry there during that time. It was always a struggle to have funds to support that specific national office; far more so than the other 11 worldwide offices DPM had at that time.

The deep foundational roots of Catholicism made the effort to share the pure Word of the Gospel quite difficult from that office. And now with the influx of Middle Eastern culture and religion, even well beyond the French borders in other European countries, I am sure the cost in spiritual and natural resources must make the desire for truth shared even more difficult to cast seed and bear fruit.

It continually amazes me that even in such a situation as this, such as this terrible Notre Dame Cathedral immense fire, many do not even consider the One who still sits on the throne of heaven. They instead speak of “Our Lady”, the English version of Notre Dame, as if she is the queen of all. Often, she is lifted up above her Creator, God Himself. Indeed, Miriam (the real name of Mary, in Hebrew) was called and blessed of God to bear His Only Begotten Son, Jesus (Yeshua), which she willingly accepted to do, though unmarried at the time. But even she never exalted herself, but instead exalted her God.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.” (Luke 1:38, NIV)

A servant generally doesn’t think they are above and beyond their Master. They tend to better understand their role. As so with the real Mary, the one who gave birth to our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Messiah, that was her proper consideration of herself.

But God chose her, as He has and continues to do among humankind. His plan and purpose is to draw each to His Son Jesus, Who alone is the Savior of the world. Only through His shed blood will forgiveness, redemption and salvation be found. There is no other.

Having been a Roman Catholic for the first 21 years of my life, I understand the theology that was built on and covering over the very foundation of truth, laid by God through Jews, since the days of Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the Prophets, Jesus (Himself a Jew, and still is), and the early church apostles and believers. All Jews. And not Mary worshippers, but Yeshua, God in the flesh, worshippers.

The cross remains at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France

It is now time that any and all structures, both in the natural and the spiritual, that have covered over that eternal truth, of Jesus Christ being the Only Savior, be torn down and restored to that of which He is. Only then will eyes be turned from the idols and lies that have so blinded, so many, for so long.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God (emphasis mine), who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:1-10)
There is no joy in seeing the destruction of beautiful architecture that was built centuries past. For that matter, there is no joy at all in seeing anything good and wholesome in life being removed, especially the unborn lives we have become accustomed to destroying, with little thought of the eternal ramifications.
But God, seated on the throne, knows what is going on, and is not sitting idly by. He promised to shake all things that stand between Him and the people He loves, continually trying to show that His love alone can save.
When that truth is realized and accepted, those crying at times like these can know of Him and know Him. Hopefully, they will turn to Him, Jesus Christ, and be saved.
Now think on this.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

You Can Have a New Beginning in 2016—You Really Can

Watchman on the Wall, by Jennifer LeClaire

JENNIFER LECLAIRE  charisma news

Jennifer LeClaire is now sharing her reflections and revelations through Walking in the Spirit. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

About this time last year, the Holy Spirit told me 2015 was the year of new beginnings. I embraced that. I preached it all over the country. I heard many testimonies of the wonderful new things the Lord birthed in people's lives.
2015 was a year of new beginnings for me on many levels. In fact, it was one of the most meaningful years of my ministry. I entered into new assignments—including being named the first female editor of Charisma magazine—launched for a number of intercessory prayer initiatives, birthed awakeningtv.com and joined the New Breed Revival Network. I believe all of this—combined with the labor of many others in the body of Christ—is ultimately unto a Third Great Awakening.
This year, I released my best-selling devotional, Mornings With the Holy Spirit: Listening Daily to the Still, Small Voice of God. That was followed by The Next Great Move of God: An Appeal to Heaven for Spiritual Awakening, which shines lights on God's plans for America even in the face of doom and gloom. I traveled across the country doing media appearances and preaching prophetic messages of hope.
In South Florida, I'm building the Awakening House of Prayer to raise up an army of intercessors who will labor in prayer to see God's will done in the earth. My latest books, Jezebel's Puppets: Exposing the Agenda of False Prophets and Revival Hubs Rising: Revealing a New Ministry Paradigm for the Next Great Move of God, are coming out any day now, and I've got several new projects in the works, including a prophecy Bible and a new spiritual warfare book.
You Can Have a New Beginning
I didn't tell you all that to boast—except maybe in a Lord who can do wonders through someone like me. You may not know my testimony, but I got saved in a jail after being accused of a crime I didn't commit—after my husband abandoned me with our 2-year-old baby nearly two decades ago. I never forget where God has brought me from and I know what it's like to need a new beginning.
You can have a new beginning too. Now is the time to determine that you will press past the past and press into a new beginning. You can birth those new things that Lord has put in your spiritual womb. You can't make it happen in your own strength. I mean to say that you can't do God's part. But you can do your part. As we wrap up 2015, the year of new beginnings, let me leave you with some lessons I shared across the country this year that helped many break into God's new thing.
1. Give your will over to the Lord.
What you are birthing may seem scary to you or it may seem insignificant to you. It may seem overwhelming to you. We can take a lesson from Mary. It's time to face your fears—fear of the unknown, fear of failing, fear of rejection, fear of transition. When the angel came to Mary and told her she would birth the Son of God, she ultimately responded: "I am the servant of the Lord. May it be unto me according to your word" (Luke 1:38).
2. Be willing to adjust your schedule.
When you are expecting a baby, you are preparing for its birth. Women, we change the way we eat, the way we sleep and how we spend our time. As we prepare to enter a year of new beginnings and birthings, we must be willing to adjust our schedules and to spend more time in the Word, in worship and in prayer. That may mean giving up other things. "Therefore, since we are encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us" (Heb. 12:1, emphasis added).
3. Be willing to shift your direction.
I've had a number of baby dreams over the years. In one of my baby dreams I was nine months pregnant but the baby had stopped moving. The baby wasn't kicking or rolling or showing any sign of life. I thought the baby was dead and I panicked. Then, suddenly, I had the unction to shift the baby's position with gentle pressure from my hand. (I later researched this and discovered there's a name for it: the Diaphragmatic Release.) When I did, I could feel the baby kicking again. I knew all was well.
Sometimes things look dead, but you just have to reposition yourself for life. It doesn't always take much. Just one gentle movement in the right direction can cause God to breathe on that thing again so you can birth it and begin nurturing what God has given you to steward. But you need to hear from the Lord about which way to shift. Remain close to the Holy Spirit, and "your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left" (Is. 30:21).
If God has given you something to birth, it may be time to pull an Ezekiel and speak to those dry bones. It may be time to pull an Elijah and raise it from the dead. It may be time to walk away from the Ishmael. Refuse to abort and just reposition yourself to receive what God intended all along. You could just be in the wrong place or in the wrong time or with the wrong people. Listen to the Lord.
4. Embrace the transition.
Transitions are difficult. This is the place where people tend to grow weary and faint. The moments right before you give birth to that new thing—before you enter that new beginning—are the hardest of all.
And here's a fifth point: Don't give up. I always say that the best thing I have going for me is not my communication skills or even spiritual gifts. It's the fact that I absolutely, positively refuse to give up. I just don't have any quit in me. That doesn't mean I don't get discouraged. I do. It doesn't mean I don't feel like quitting on some days. I do. It just means that for all the thoughts and words I may speak about throwing in the towel on my toughest days, I always get back up again.
In 2016, let that be you. Sometimes victory in spiritual warfare really is just a matter of outlasting the devil. Keep pressing! Jesus is your victory banner.
