Governor Mike Huckabee, 2016 presidential candidate, received the Friend of Zion award at gala event in Jerusalem. Dr. Mike D. Evans, founder of the Friends of Zion Museum in Jerusalem, presented him with the award for his support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. Huckabee said: "Anybody who is going to Israel should go to see the Friends of Zion Museum. It is just remarkable and is getting so much buzz in Israel and abroad."
Huckabee also visited the interactive FOZ museum tour in order to learn firsthand about the long history of friendship and cooperation on non-Jewish people of all religions helping the Jewish nation in the last 200 years, including the holocaust as well as through the reformation of the state of Israel.
Mike Huckabee joins many prominent political, religious, business, entertainment and sports figures who champion the museum's value and impact. During the museum's first year, the museum hosted tens of thousands of people from around the world, from school students to a Nobel Laureate, and from senior statesmen and women to NBA basketball stars. (To see a video of many such visitors, go here.)
The Friends of Zion (FOZ) Museum was established with the vision of serving as a bridge, enabling people from around the world to join the scores of people throughout history who have supported the people, the promise and the State of Israel.

The event will begin at noon EST at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, located about a mile and a half from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. It will be a time of worship and prayer to thank God for what He has done.
A description of the event states:

Jerusalem Prayer Team Breaks 14 Million Membership Mark - MIKE EVANS CHARISMA NEWS

Jerusalem Prayer Team Breaks 14 Million Membership Mark

MIKE EVANS   CHARISMA NEWS
Standing With Israel
Jerusalem Prayer Team, founded by Dr. Mike Evans, has just exceeded the 14 million membership mark globally. In Israel, Jerusalem Prayer Team is the No. 1 Facebook site nationwide.
Gal Gadot, known for playing the Wonder Woman character in the recent superhero blockbuster movies, has the No. 2 site, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's site is No. 6. In the United States, Joel Osteen's Facebook page is ranked No. 1 among Christian social media sites with 2.7 million weekly engagements, followed by Jerusalem Prayer Team with 21.1 million weekly and then Joyce Meyer.
"This is a milestone that means so much more than just a figure," said Dr. Mike Evans. "It represents the greater movement of millions who support the state of Israel, and it tells the world that Jerusalem has many friends in the worldwide Christian community."
Jerusalem Prayer Team is growing by almost 50,000 members daily. Over 70 percent of the page's supporters are millennials, and it has millions of members across countries in the world, including over two million in Indonesia, a Muslim country.
As part of a comprehensive, multi-faceted strategy to promote Christian support for Israel, the Jerusalem Prayer Team also operates the Corrie ten Boom House in Haarlem, Holland, as well as the Friends of Zion Heritage Center and the Friends of Zion Museum in Jerusalem (FOZ). During the first year of the FOZ museum operation, over 100,000 individuals toured the facility—50,000 were Israelis.
On Nov. 23, Dr. Evans launched the Ambassador Institute—the newest initiative of Friends of Zion—at a diplomatic conference sponsored by the Jerusalem Post. He spoke at the conference alongside Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman. The meeting gathered more than 80 distinguished guests, including ambassadors, ministers, and members of parliament who represented more than 30 countries.
Dr. Evans said in his speech that 21st century wars are primarily religious, economic, media and ideological wars fueled and fed by social media. The FOZ Ambassador Institute is an initiative targeting millennials who have overtaken the baby-boom generation in America. Millennials now total 75.4 million and purchase 54 percent of goods and services via their smartphones. Millennials reject cable news and turn to the social network to be informed. According to Dr. Evans, all these factors make reaching millennials an imperative for the cause of peace in the Middle East.
Dr. Evans' plan is to educate millennials against replacement theology and the social justice myth with a biblical worldview and to mobilize them to confront anti-Semitism on college campuses and the BDS (Boycott, Divestments and Sanctions) movement targeting Israel. He said the Ambassador Institute will fight this war using the social network Facebook, which began on a college campus.
The Ambassador Institute, through the Friends of Zion Heritage Center, will have a real-time social network communication hub that will be linked to the thousands of Christian TV and radio stations, print media, churches and universities worldwide with content packages and video clips going out weekly. The center will also collaborate with one of the world's leading research companies to create Israel's first Christian Zionist think tank.

His Holiness Pope Francis, Israel's ninth President Shimon Peres, Chairman of the International Board of the Friends of Zion (FOZ) museum in Jerusalem and Dr. Mike Evans the Museum's Founder made a joint statement promoting peace and calling for an end to acts of violence in the name of religion. Peres also, presented his Holiness Pope Francis with a unique piece of art from the Friends of Zion Founders gallery. The piece depicts a dreamlike biblical scene of Abraham answering to the high calling on a backset with the Hebrew word Hinneni meaning "Here am I."
Peres and Evans also shared the story of Irena Sendler, one of the heroes depicted in the museum. Sendler, a young Catholic nurse, smuggled approximately 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto and then provided them with false identity documents and shelter outside the Ghetto. In 1965, Sendler was recognized by the State of Israel as one of the Righteous Among the Nations. Dr. Mike Evens, founder of the FOZ museum, spoke of the importance of friendships between all people and nations, which is even more important today with raising anti-Semitism worldwide.
The FOZ museum is one of the newest attractions in the very heart of Jerusalem inviting visitors from all over the world to experience the courageous stories of those who stood by in support of the Jewish people and the state of Israel in the last 200 years. Magnificently told, the museum uses groundbreaking technology, allowing visitors to experience the unfolding story as though stepping back in time. From 3D presentation and giant touch screens to projection mapping on unique sculptures and complex roto scope animations that transform live-action video footage into a painted media.
The heroes presented in the museum include U.S. President Harry Truman, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Prof. George W. Bush, Orde Wingate and Righteous Among the Nations such as Oskar Schindler, Raoul Wallenberg, Irena Sendler and the Ten Boom family, who risked their lives to save Jews persecuted throughout the world.
The Friends of Zion Museum opened in Jerusalem last September and has set itself a goal of serving as a bridge, connecting people from around the world and motivating more communities to come out in support of Israel.

Israel - New Museum Traces History of Christian Zionists

New Museum Traces History of Christian Zionists in Israel

Courtesy Friends of Zion Museum
JERUSALEM, Israel -- Relatively few people realize the major role Christians played in the formation of the modern State of Israel. The new Friends of Israel Museum in the heart of Jerusalem reveals this hidden history.

A dramatic introduction starts the tour: stunning aerials of Israel as a map traces the land given by God to the 12 tribes, all set to originally scored music.

The museum uses state-of-the-art technology, such as oversized touch panels, that allow visitors to learn more about the history of Christian Zionism.

Features like video mapping enhance some of the most compelling and often unknown stories of Christian Zionists' contribution to the development of the modern nation-state.

Take a virtual online tour at the Friends of Israel Museum.

History of Christian Zionism

In a 2012 speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke of Christian Zionists' essential role in the nation's history.

"I don't believe that the Jewish state and modern Zionism would have been possible without Christian Zionism," Netanyahu said. "I think that the many Christian supporters of the rebirth of the Jewish state and the ingathering of the Jewish people in the 19th century made possible the rise of Jewish Zionism."

American Mike Evans built the museum to help spread the word of Christian Zionism's place in Israel's history. He wanted "a home for Christians to celebrate their heroes and their history."

"I found no place in Israel where Bible believing Christians can go to. And they have heroes and they have history," Evans told CBN News.

The museum was founded on years of research and the information in a two-volume set called The History of Christian Zionism, authored by Evans.

"There are so many of them," Evans explained. "If you just take George Bush, 1844, this guy was a Hebrew professor and he wrote a book that sold a million copies on the restoration of Israel. And yes, his two relatives were U.S. presidents."

Fulfilling Promises

There are many others.

Orde Wingate formed the first Jewish fighting unit in nearly 2,000 years, the beginning of the modern Israeli army we see today.

Corrie Ten Boom's father and sister were killed by the Nazis and she suffered in a concentration camp because her family hid Dutch Jews during the Holocaust.

Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg faced death to save Jews.

One museum display explained, "In the dead of winter, Wallenberg joined thousands of Jewish prisoners on their death marches to Auschwitz, trying to save anyone he could."

Evans wondered, what fortified these Christian men and women to face death?

"I realized, number one, it was their Bible. They had an intimate relationship with the living Lord and they loved the Word of God," he said. "And they were willing to live for it. And with the Word of God came promises to the Jewish people."

Those scriptural promises, from Ezekiel to Isaiah to Abraham, are woven through the museum's exhibits.

Another display revealed, "According to the ancient writings, one day God appeared to Abram and spoke words that would give birth to the nation of Israel."

An Incredible Experience

For museum visitors, the experience is incredible.

"It's an experience like no other. It's interactive. You learn a lot of things that you probably never even learned," one visitor told CBN News.

"I think this was one of the most impressive things I've seen in Israel since in the time that I've been here," another said.

Many said the museum taught them so much they'd never known before and now they want to spread the word.

"I'm going to tell everyone I can think of, the people in my synagogue, to come here to see how this beautiful land of Israel was not [built] just by the Jews, but by the Christians and the wonderful people who risked their lives to make us a homeland," one American visitor said.

For Evans, the museum lets the Jewish people know that though surrounded by enemies, they are not alone.

"They see Auschwitz and what they went through. And they see the alienation in the world today, and they come through it [the museum] and they say, we're not alone," he said. "There are Christians who really love us. And it's just amazing to see that. It gives me hope, I'm not alone. That's enough."
