Rick Perry on Cabinet Bible Study and President Trump's Leadership: 'It Starts at the Top' - CBN News Jenna Browder

Rick Perry on Cabinet Bible Study and President Trump's Leadership:
'It Starts at the Top'
09-16-2018
CBN News Jenna Browder
WASHINGTON – Did you know members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet meet weekly for a
Bible study? CBN News was the first to report on it and according to one regular attendee, Secretary of
Energy Rick Perry, the group is still going strong.

"There are a number of men and women on the Cabinet who have a Bible study every Wednesday
morning," Perry told CBN's Jenna Browder. "Number one, it gives us an opportunity to see each other
outside of our normal work environment, but it's also sending a message that this administration bases
its life experiences on that, biblical values."

In addition to Perry, other attendees include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Agriculture
Sonny Perdue, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
Ben Carson. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is also part of the group. Vice President Mike Pence is a
sponsor and Capitol Ministries' Ralph Drollinger, who leads the Bible study, tells CBN News Trump
also gets a copy of the weekly teaching.

"It's the best Bible study that I've ever taught in my life. They are so teachable; they're so noble; they're
so learned," Drollinger said.

Meanwhile, Perry gives credit to Trump for his leadership on the faith front.

"It starts at the top from the standpoint of this is a president that's not afraid to stand up and say, 'Hey,
I'm not perfect, but I know the guy that is perfect and I'm trying to follow those instructions,'" Perry
told CBN News. "That's a really good place to start from my perspective."

Jenna Browder: "Faith seems to be front and center in this administration. I know that you're part of the
Cabinet Bible study. Tell us a little bit about that."

Secretary Rick Perry: "Well, you know, it starts at the top from the standpoint of this is a president that's
not afraid to stand up and say, 'Hey, I'm not perfect, but I know the guy that is perfect and I'm trying to
follow those instructions.' And that's a really good place to start from my perspective. There are a
number of men and women on the Cabinet who have a Bible study every Wednesday morning. It's my understanding, it's about the first time there's been a Cabinet Bible study in Washington, DC – the
Cabinet members come together in an organized way – in almost 100 years. So, you know, I think
that's a good thing. Number one, it gives us an opportunity to see each other outside of our normal
work environment, but it's also sending a message that this administration bases its life experiences on
that, biblical values. I always ask people who are, you know, sometimes critical, when I was the
governor of Texas about, you know, actions that we might have taken, and I said, 'You know, I try to be
instructed biblically and which one of the Ten Commandments do you not like?'"

Pastor Holds Weekly Bible Studies With Trump's ENTIRE Cabinet - Will Maule HELLO CHRISTIAN

Pastor Holds Weekly Bible Studies With Trump's ENTIRE Cabinet

Apr 21, 2017 by Will Maule  HELLO CHRISTIAN
It has been revealed that cabinet officials attend a weekly Bible study group led by pastor Ralph Drollinger, who has said that he is committed to "making disciples of Christ in the Capitol," according to Fusion.net. The meeting was discovered when Fusion obtained a copy of Energy Secretary Rick Perry's daily schedule. Drollinger has praised the new administration for its power to “change the course of America in ways that are biblical.”
Drollinger, of Capitol Ministries, has also praised now Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who he says “hungers and thirsts for the Scripture," and who defended himself honorably in the senate confirmation hearings. “I’ve had the distinct honor of teaching him on this subject, and many others,” Drollinger said. “There’s nothing more exciting, when you’re a Bible teacher, to see one of the guys you’re working with—to see him or her articulate something you’ve taught them when they’re under the gun.”
Vice President Mike Pence, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, nominee for Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, HHS Secretary Tom Price, and Scott Pruitt, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, have all sponsored the Cabinet Bible study.
When Trump announced the nomination of so many Capitol Ministries students to Cabinet positions, Drollinger was delighted. “It follows then that the sudden rise of Pence, Sessions, and Pompeo—all men who are disciples of Jesus Christ—serve to vividly illustrate the truth of 1 Timothy 2:1-4!” he said.
“Suddenly these men who have been discipled by the Church are in prominent positions of authority to change the course of America in ways that are biblical.”

2 Evangelical Cabinet Nominees Face Votes in the Senate Next Week - BOB ESCHLIMAN CHARISMA NEWS

2 Evangelical Cabinet Nominees Face Votes in the Senate Next Week

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS
Democrats are back to their slow-walking ways as they force every Cabinet nominee to go through the maximum amount of "debate" allowed by the Rules of the Senate.
The latest to be confirmed was EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. He was confirmed by a 52-46 vote. Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) broke with their party to vote in favor of the nomination, while Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voted against it.
Pruitt, the former Oklahoma attorney general, is an evangelical. Two others are expected to receive confirmation votes next week: former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, nominee to lead the Department of Energy; and Dr. Ben Carson, nominee to lead the Department of Housing & Urban Development.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins is urging Christians to get on the phone with their senators and tell them to support each of those nominees. He shared a little bit about why each should be confirmed by the Senate.
Here's what he had to say.
On Perry: Appointee Rick Perry is the longtime Texas governor and a two-time Republican presidential candidate. An Air Force captain and a graduate of Texas A&M University, Perry has served in the Texas House of Representatives, as Texas' Agriculture Commissioner and as Texas' lieutenant governor prior to his election to the post of governor in 2000. Perry has also been a featured speaker at our annual Values Voter Summit. With a long and impressive history in public service, Perry is a nominee who will chart a course toward smarter energy policies designed to strengthen national security and rebuild our economy. This is particularly good news for hard-working families and for business owners who have been hobbled by federal regulations under President Obama.
On Carson: Ben Carson is a neurosurgeon and former Republican presidential candidate. After his youth in impoverished inner-city Detroit, Carson rose to prominence as a pioneer in the field of pediatric neurosurgery, eventually taking over the department for Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Carson is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and founder of the Carson Scholars Fund. Like Perry, Carson has been a featured speaker at our Values Voter Summit. He is a man committed to the sanctity of all life and believes that we the people have an obligation to help lift others out of a welfare environment. From his highly-publicized speech at the National Prayer Breakfast to his recent run for president, Carson has championed polices that will strengthen faith, family and freedom. He is the perfect nominee to oversee fair-housing laws and direct HUD so that it truly serves the American people.
"From IRS' targeting of conservative organizations, to HHS' attempt to force private businesses to violate deeply-held religious beliefs or face crippling fines, the last eight years have shown us just important it is to have good leadership in each area of government," Perkins added. "Now is our opportunity to support good nominees for influential positions that will impact all of us. Make sure your voice is heard!"
