5 Transforming Prayers to Help You Win Your War With Anxiety

ROSILIND JUKIC  CHARISMA NEWS
I don't know about you, but as a woman, I struggle a lot with anxiety.
We're told as moms that it is normal to worry about our kids, and that we'll worry about them the rest of our lives. But does it really have to be this way?
I think that as women, we are more prone to anxiety because everything in our lives is tied together.
Our thought processes and emotions combine to drive us to constantly think of "what if...." while we envision every scenario—each one more horrifying than the one before.
Combine that with hormonal changes and undernourishment, often led by calorie-restricted dieting (which can lead to even greater hormone disregulation), and we have a recipe for chronic anxiety and depression.
God never intended for us to live in anxiety and drama.
There multitude of verses in the Bible that tell us not to fear, to trust in the Lord, to release our anxiety; and this is as much an area of obedience in our lives as forgiveness or morality.
One thing I have found tremendously helpful in my own battle against chronic anxiety is praying Scripture.
As I pray Scripture and personalize it for my life, it reinforces the truth of God's Word in my heart, and I find that my mind and emotions begin molding to it.

5 Transforming War Room Prayers for Anxiety

Psalm 55:22: "Cast your burden on the LORD, And He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be moved."
Heavenly Father, I know that You are for me and not against me. You will not allow me to fall or slip, as long as I allow You to sustain me in this trial. Today, right now, I take this burden (name the burden) and I throw it off of me and onto You. I refuse to carry it one moment longer. Thank you for being a God who cares for me and nurtures me; who carries my burdens, and who protects Me. Amen.
2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1:7, NKJV).
Heavenly Father, I know this fear isn't from you. You only give good gifts like power, love and a sound mind—a mind that is disciplined and controlled. Please help me to empty my heart of this fear and open my heart to your Spirit so I have room to receive the good gifts you have for me. Amen.
Psalm 56:3: "Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You."
Heavenly Father, I know your faithfulness has no end, that your thoughts and plans for me are only good and that you work all things out for good for those who love you and are called according to your purpose. So, I commit to you today that anytime I feel afraid, I will use it as a signal to intentionally trust You for whatever it is that is causing me fear. Please help my faith in You to grow each and every day. Amen.
John 14:27 – "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).
Heavenly Father, Your Word instructs me to now allow my heart to grow troubled or become afraid. Today I choose to live in obedience to your Word and receive the divine peace that You have already given to me. Please help me to daily walk in Your supernatural peace that goes above and beyond my understanding. Amen
Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One, who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
Heavenly Father, my heart is troubled right now. I need you to quiet my heart with your love. Right now I proclaim to my heart: "There is no need to fear, God is with you! He is a mighty warrior and champion, He will save you. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet your with His supernatural love, and He will rejoice over you with singing"

Acceleration is falling in unexpected places. The Lord is changing things suddenly. The Lord is rearranging and there are divine interruptions happening in the lives of God's people at such a pace, unlike anything I have ever seen. The suddenlies of God are truly upon us.

The enemy knows these suddenlies are upon us and they are being birthed right now and he is attempting to bring confusion upon the promise, but he will not succeed for the Lord has decreed that acceleration is falling in unexpected places.

A sudden unveiling has been happening as the Lord unveils next steps and what He has been planning and the increase that is upon God's people. God truly is releasing the double portion right now. God's people have walked through so much trouble and trial, but the Lord is now releasing double blessing. He is increasing expectancy in His people as they draw close to Him for what He is doing. Discouragement and confusion is attempting to steal the promise, but I decree over you tonight in Jesus name, that as you continue to hold His hand, trust and obey, your promise will not be aborted. The enemy is fighting significant promises right now and one way is through confusion and discouragement, but another way I saw him attempting to abort the promise is by whispering to God's people "That's not really God. That's your heart's desire" leaving many discouraged and despondent.

I heard the Lord say "DOUBLE BLESSING! DOUBLE BLESSING! DOUBLE BLESSING!"  You are going to move not only into hearts desires and promises fulfilled but there will be double blessing and there will be double confirmation. The Lord is confirming and will keep confirming His way, His plan, and this is a time where double portions of joy will be restored to you.

"When hope's dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing, but when at last your dream comes true, life's sweetness will satisfy your soul" Proverbs 13:12  (The Passion Translation)

Many of you have felt that dream drag on and on and the delay has been depressing, but God is taking your depression and sadness and He will satisfy your soul with the sweetness of the dream come true. The sweetness of the suddenly!!!!

Don't be afraid to throw yourself "all in" to the "unexpected places" that God is leading you into. Don't be afraid to trust Him. He is leading you into a place of greater sweetness and joy in the double portion. Many are surprised that the Lord is now saying, "Step in" to a dream they have been waiting for, for a long time, and I saw a waterfall of the revelation of His goodness being released upon them.

But the wonderful thing is, not only are you going to step into a dream fulfilled, but you are going to carry more, double!!!!

Winds of Acceleration Falling Upon the Rivers of Rest

The winds of acceleration are falling upon the rivers of rest. The Lord is bringing a deeper rest to many believers right now, as many are weary, discouraged and feeling empty. The Lord is shifting and moving things and He is making more room for His people to come into rest; heart rest, emotional and mental rest and physical rest. The Lord is "making room" and in that place of rest, the Lord is adding increase. Out of the place of rest, from the 'lying down in the rivers of rest', there will be greater fruitfulness, favor, increase and positioning. Don't fight the plan of God and the moving and shifting of God bringing rest. Don't fight the plan of God if He moves you from more "doing" to "being". The enemy is working hard in this season of acceleration to burn many out in busyness, anxiety, fear and discouragement, but the Lord is bringing rest. Friends, lean in. Rest your head upon His chest and continue to listen to His heart and you will hear His whisper that, "All is well" and you are not being delayed, you are actually moving into more than you ever imagined possible. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

May I Have this Dance?

I heard the Lord speaking over many "May I have this dance?" and it was an invitation into a level of intimacy, a deeper rhythm of His heart, a new song that they had never experienced before. The joy that bubbled up in the hearts of those who accepted His invitation was like the joy of the first moment they met Him, the moment of salvation. I saw Him recapturing hearts. Hearts that are weary, have lost passion, have lost hunger, where intimacy has been hindered, where the foxes of fear have come in and wrecked havoc upon the vineyard of intimacy with Him, there's a whole new world of intimacy with Him now opening up. A new invitation to know Him, move with Him, and encounter His heart, unlike anything they had ever seen. The fire of the first love was burning brighter than ever.

I saw specifically where disappointment had created a wall between them and Jesus, He was melting those walls away, and He was placing in their hearts as they danced a scroll of destiny. Upon this scroll were His words of truth and destiny. Where there had been great pain of disappointment, He was now releasing greater revelation of destiny and reconnection was taking place.

The Lord is extending His hand...

He is whispering, "May I have this dance?"

I encourage you to accept His invitation, and a whole new world of intimacy, a new song, a new dance, a new rhythm is about to open up before you. You will burn with love for Him stronger and deeper than you have ever experienced and the fire of His love that burns in His eyes for you will baptize you afresh.

The Dow Falls By Triple Digits As Anxiety Over The Senate Tax Plan Grows - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Posted: 09 Nov 2017 Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

It is becoming quite clear that even if Congress passes a tax reform bill in 2017 that it won’t actually be that significant.  On Thursday, anxiety about the Senate’s version of the bill pushed the Dow down more than a hundred points, and that was the biggest decline that we have seen in two months.

Could it be possible that the massive stock market bubble that we are currently witnessing is about to burst?  Anticipation of what this tax bill would mean for U.S. companies has been the foundation for so much of the euphoria that was have seen on Wall Street this year, and now reality is starting to set in
The Dow suffered its biggest drop since early September as investors reacted to reports that the Senate’s tax proposal would delay tax cuts for corporations for year, a development that pushes back a key part of the plan Wall Street was betting on to provide a boost to corporate profitability.
Reducing our corporate tax rate is very important, because right now we are not competitive with the rest of the western world.  Almost every other major industrialized nation has a much lower corporate tax rate than us, and that encourages major corporations to locate operations elsewhere.

So if we are able to reduce the corporate tax rate to 20 percent, that is likely going to mean good things for the U.S. economy and more jobs for U.S. workers, but unfortunately the Senate version of the bill would delay that tax cut until 2019
The top corporate rate would drop from 35% to 20% in 2019, a year later than it would in a revised bill approved Thursday by the House Ways and Means Committee. That change, which reduces the overall cost of the tax cut package, delays one of President Trump’s main priorities for overhauling the tax code, but administration officials did not seem concerned during a brief appearance with Hatch on Thursday afternoon.
And then if the Democrats take back control of the White House in 2020, they would probably jack corporate tax rates back up to where they were before, and so in the end the change would not make much of an impact at all.

Other than reducing the corporate tax rate, the Senate version of the “tax reform bill” does not actually accomplish that much.  The following comes from Zero Hege, and it is a good summary of what is contained in the bill…
  • 20% permanent corporate tax cut delayed by 1 year
  • Complies with the $1.5 trillion cost (will cost $1.44 trillion)
  • Preserves 7 tax brackets: top tax bracket is 38.5%, down from 39.6%
  • Doubles standard deduction from $12,700 to $24,000 (married couples)
  • Ends state and local tax (SALT) deduction; keeps business deduction
  • Keeps the mortgage Interest deduction cap at $1 million
  • Preserve the estate tax, doubling the current $5.49 million exemption for individuals
  • Raises the child tax credit to $1,650 from $1,000
  • Sets 10% tax rate for US companies with IP in foreign low-tax jurisdictions
  • Full expensing of capital investments for five years
  • Preserves 401(k)s IRAs,
  • Sets repatriation rate at 12% for liquid assets, 5% for illiquid assets
  • Carried interest loophole unchanged
  • Electric Vehicle tax credit is spared (good news for Elon Musk)
This bill also repeals the alternative minimum tax, and that is a change that has been needed for ages.

But overall, our members of Congress are simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
We have the most abominable system of taxation on the entire planet.  I once spent an entire year studying our tax code, and at the end of that year I came to the conclusion that the best thing that we could do would be to throw the entire thing in a shredder and start over.

Today, the tax code is more than two million words long, and the regulations are more than seven million words long.  I used to have to lug these books to class with me, and that was not pleasant.  Our system greatly favors the wealthy, because they can hire lobbyists to influence members of Congress, and they can pay accountants and tax attorneys to find every single loophole possible.  Meanwhile, ordinary people like you and me always end up with the short end of the stick.

The next time you are talking to a politician, ask them to defend our current system of taxation.  None of them will be able to, because it is an abomination.

Ultimately, I would like to abolish the IRS and the income tax completely.  We did not have an income tax between 1872 and 1913, and it was the greatest period of economic growth in U.S. history.

Of course we would need to greatly reduce the size of the federal government in order to do that, and that might take a while.  So in the short-term we could go to a flat tax or a fair tax, both of which would be greatly superior systems to what we have right now.

Simply reducing rates a little bit and tinkering with the regulations is not going to fundamentally change anything.  Real tax reform means getting rid of our current abominable system entirely, and if I am elected to Congress that is precisely what I am going to fight for.

3 Countercultural Ways Jesus Dealt With Satanic Activity - DR. CAROL PETERS-TANKSLEY CHARISMA NEWS

3 Countercultural Ways Jesus Dealt With Satanic Activity

DR. CAROL PETERS-TANKSLEY  CHARISMA NEWS
Jesus's life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension defeated the kingdom of darkness. His victory in the spiritual realm is vital for our lives both now and in eternity. But evil is still present in our world. How Jesus dealt with evil while on Earth is an example of how we can and should deal with evil as His followers.
As difficult as our lives may seem and as much demonic opposition as we may feel we are facing, we will never see Satan and his whole kingdom of darkness arrayed against us to the degree that Jesus personally experienced. In order to save humanity Jesus had to accomplish the destruction of Satan's kingdom. The incarnation was, along with all its other aspects, an invasion into enemy territory.
For Satan and his realm, Jesus presence here was an ultimate declaration: "This means war!"
Yet Jesus seemed completely unruffled by such strong opposition. He never showed fear or anxiety when He encountered demons or those controlled by them, or even Satan himself. In the Gospels, we never see Him on a hunt for demonic activity; His focus on being about His Father's business of saving humanity seemed unshakable.
But whenever Satan or his demons showed up, Jesus responded with calmness and absolute authority over them.
Jesus' Encounters With Evil
Jesus frequently encountered those who were under the control of demons. The Gospels make several summary statements about Jesus healing those who were possessed or tormented. (Examples include Matt. 4:248:16Mark 1:32–34; and Luke 4:41.) We have many stories of individuals Jesus set free:
  • The sick woman whom "Satan bound for eighteen years," healed on the Sabbath (Luke 13:16).
  • The epileptic boy brought by his father for healing when His disciples could not accomplish the task (Mark 9:25–27).
  • The demon-possessed man who had been relegated to living in the tombs (Luke 8:26–40).
Jesus comes across as calm and composed, while the demons respond with desperate cries and fear of torment.
This was so very different from what those around Jesus were used to. Ancient Jewish literature recounts how the people of Jesus' day lived in certain fear of demons. The Dead Sea Scrolls contain a number of prayers and liturgies that were used to try to bring relief from demonic oppression. Josephus describes an elaborate ritual involving roots and incantations and spells by which one Jewish exorcist Eleazar attempted to cast out demons. Both the people in general and those who attempted to get rid of demons approached the whole idea with much fear and anxiety.
And here comes Jesus. He has no incantations, no spells, no rituals, no stylized prayers, no sacred objects, no angst, no fear and He doesn't get all worked up. Sometimes casting out demons became dramatic only because of their resistance to Jesus's words. The summary Gospel passages make most such encounters seem almost commonplace and likely no more dramatic than a simple "Get out!" (Mark 1:34).
No wonder the people were astonished (Mark 1:27).
The Authority in Jesus' Words
Every time He encountered Satan or his demons, Jesus responded with calm, authoritative words. This began at His initial encounter with Satan when he tempted Jesus in the wilderness. Each time Jesus defeated him not with a display of power, but with His words—words from the Old Testament Scriptures (Matt. 4:3-10).
Every time after this that Jesus encountered evil, He responded the same way. He spoke with authority and the demons had to leave. If the demons were causing any sickness or disease, it had to leave along with them. The Roman centurion understood this: "Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But speak the word only, and my servant will be healed" (Matt. 8:8).
Keep in mind as you contemplate Jesus's words that this was not some magic show. God spoke the worlds into existence with His Word. Jesus is called the eternal Word of God (John 1:1). The power and authority of God Himself was present in those words Jesus spoke. That's why He spoke as He did to Satan in the wilderness. God's power is present in His Word—in Scripture, as Jesus spoke it, and as you and I speak it as well.
You Can Do It Too!
Can you imagine the awed excitement with which Jesus' disciples heard Him say, "You want to do the same things you've seen Me do? You want to preach the good news, heal people, cast our demons and raise the dead? Yes, you can! It's time for you to go out and do it" (See Matt. 10:8).
I can picture them going out two by two, perhaps wondering if it would really work. John says to Peter, "Did you hear Him say what I heard Him say? Do you really think we can do it?" And Peter responds, "You bet! And I'm going to the very first chance I get!"
On their way to the first village Peter, John, and the others would have rehearsed over and over again exactly what they had seen Jesus do and how He had done it. They would have remembered the words He used, the look on His face and even the feeling in His voice. They would have determined to do it exactly as their Master had done. The results were spectacular!
They must have had a predetermined time and meeting place to catch up with Jesus again. When they got there they exclaimed, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Your name" (Luke 10:17b). They would have acted as Jesus did, with no fear, no rituals, no anxiety, no long stylized prayers. They just spoke in Jesus' name.
How should you and I deal with evil?
So what does this mean for you and me? What does Jesus as our divine example show us about dealing with evil?
  • Have no fear or anxiety. We have absolutely no need to experience fear or anxiety in our encounters with Satan or his kingdom of darkness. We don't go out looking for "a devil behind every bush"; there will be opportunity enough to exercise the authority Jesus has given us when evil presents itself. We are to be alert and firm, but not anxious. (See 1 Pet. 5:8.)
  • Fill your mind and heart with God's Word. If Jesus needed Scripture to successfully resist temptation and Satan, you will need it too. Spend time reading, studying and memorizing the Bible. If those words are in your heart, the Holy Spirit will bring them back to your mind when you need them as you encounter evil.
  • Remain focused on what God gives you to do. Jesus and His disciples remained focused on ministering to the hearts, minds and bodies of people. The fact that doing so aroused Satan's opposition was almost secondary. Remain focused on what God has given you to do and nothing more nor less. If accomplishing that mission stirs up the devil's opposition, so be it.
Maintaining your focus is important. C.S. Lewis wisely opined that thinking too much or too little about Satan and his kind are equally dangerous traps: "There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors."
It's your focus that's important.
Jesus encountered evil more than any of us ever will. You and I can face the kingdom of darkness with the same calmness and authority He did.
