You are Only as Strong as Your Foundation by Elaine Tavolacci

You are Only as Strong

as Your Foundation

Building a skyscraper would require much more labor than building a bungalow. To build a skyscraper you would need materials such as steel for the framework, and concrete for the foundation.

Some skyscrapers are also built a certain way in earthquake prone areas. A well-planned and tested design, when combined with the right materials, can keep a building intact through all sorts of shakes, storms and quakes.

On the other hand, to build a bungalow you would probably use wood and nails and it would not require a cement foundation which would make it vulnerable to storms.

If the Lord is requiring more from you than other Christians, it is most likely because He is digging a deeper and stronger foundation because He has bigger plans for your life or ministry
.
The Lord says I am calling you to be strong, immovable, and unshakable. I am looking for those who are not easily moved and swayed by tests, trials or the worlds system. Many of you are required to go the extra mile, and those of you who are called to be ruler over much requires a stronger and deeper foundation.

For this very reason, you are called to live by a higher standard. Just as a tree must sway back and forth in high winds to avoid snapping, a skyscraper must do the same. You must live up to a higher expectation and walk in a manner worthy of the calling that I have placed on your life. Allow Me to remove those things that are hindering you from growth, and those people who are deterring you from all that I have called you to do.

Align yourself with My will and refuse to get entangled with anything that will destroy your life and discredit your name. Those who have strength and determination will go higher. Those who dig deeper will have a stronger foundation. Those who are steadfast are those who are building with precision.

You are a Strong Tower

Stay steadfast in My word so that the process will not be hindered. Stay in an attitude of prayer to be strengthened. Just as the tallest buildings in the world, I have designed you to withstand the shaking that is experienced during difficult times. Allow Me as the master architect to create a structure that will not be easily broken or cracked under pressure. Allow Me to build your foundation in accordance to My word.

Live your life in sync with My plans. Do not see yourself as inadequate or weak because I called you to be a strong tower. Don't think that you are incompetent of being used by Me, but continue to pursue what I have placed in your heart to do. I am not seeking the wise according to the flesh. I am not seeking those who are noble according to the world's standards.

I will open new doors for you in the coming months that will be effective in what you have been created to do. Don't feel overwhelmed with responsibilities but allow Me to lead you one step at a time. My plan for your life will continue to progress as you prove your ability to endure says the Lord.

Luke 6:46-49 But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.

But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great."

1 Corinthians 1:25-26 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

1 Corinthians 3:9-15 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.  According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Israel Today - "Israel to Ramp Up Building in Jerusalem"

Israel to Ramp Up Building in Jerusalem

Wednesday, October 30, 2013 |  Israel Today Staff
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu early Wednesday morning announced a major increase in Jewish building projects in Jerusalem.
The announcement came just hours after Netanyahu had freed 26 blood-soaked Palestinian terrorists as a "peace gesture." The new building projects were themselves seen as a gesture to the Israeli public that had so opposed the release of jailed murderers.
The new building plans are to include an additional 1,500 housing units in the neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo in north-eastern Jerusalem, a large new visitors' center at the City of David archaeological park outside the Old City, and a new national park on the slopes of Mt. Scopus.

Ramat Shlomo was at the center of a rift in Israel-US relations in 2010when the municipality announced new building tenders there during a visit by US Vice President Joe Biden. Washington supports the Palestinian claim to the eastern half of Jerusalem.
The City of David archaeological park is situated in the volatile Arab neighborhood of Silwan, another local flash point, and the new park on Mt. Scopus will reportedly prevent the expansion of nearby Arab neighborhoods.

Ahava Love Letter (#58) - “In Your Building - Guard Against Distractions”

“And it came to pass, when the time was come that He
should be received up, He steadfastly set His face to go
to Jerusalem (Yerushalayim) (Luke 9:51) KJV
Dear family of friends,

As I sit in my favorite chair, in the front “library and prayer room” of our house, I hear the pounding outside. The neighbor is having a crew install outdoor carpeting on his new deck. There is a lawn mower cutting the overgrown grass. And oh yeah, the cute poodle dogs are barking at every passing walker. Bless them all Lord!

Even the TV is going on in the family room. Not loud enough to hear what they are saying, but enough to distract from this at hand. Distractions abound.

I received an email yesterday from a good, long-time friend, who knows me pretty well. He wrote, from his prophetic perspective:

“I believe the Lord showed me that you are experiencing life, and you will need to be aware that the enemy has provided busyness to distract you from experiencing the full measure of His provision.

This doesn't mean you are not to enjoy activity, but if it is a distraction from what the Lord is placing His grace on in your life, it is simply that - "a distraction". You will pay a higher price than you realize at the moment (Steve's interpretive addition: "if you allow them".)

The experience of His life is of greater value that you can measure in completing His purpose and walking in His passion for His heart for you.  Keep this in your heart and consider if anything you are involved in is a distraction. If so, be suspect of what is the benefit of that activity in comparison to what you really should be doing.” Michael

In thinking further about that word, and pondering what the Lord is currently speaking as a "now" word to me, and I am sure possibly others, I will share this.

In the work of constructing a building, a project, an organization, or even a life-long dream, in the long haul many obstacles come up. You see it in the natural, with the new office complex arising amidst a cement shortage; the city park being laid out but having to wait on the final turf; the neighbor’s back porch crew dodging the rain pellets. It happens. In the natural and the spiritual. Sometimes it is a long, hard fought battle to complete the job. Excuse me…most of the time!

We can become weary in the building, but through the grace of the Lord, Who does point out the distractions, and obstacles, that we allow ourselves to be further burdened with, we can be as Paul did and press on, for the joy set before us, and complete the building, the assigned task, we have been given.

Jesus (Yeshua) set His heart and mind, for Jerusalem in His last days on earth, with a purpose to complete His Father given assignment. Let us strive, in a good way, to be as Him, and keep focused on the path we are to walk on. Then we too will finish the "building", and enjoy the eternal reward.

Ahava (love in Hebrew) to my family of friends,

Steve Martin
Founder/President

P.S. The pounding is still going on next door. But now the air pump for the nail gun is running intermittently. At least the TV has been turned off!
