Why It's Prudent to Prepare for the 'Blood Moons Financial Collapse'

Why It's Prudent to Prepare for the 'Blood Moons Financial Collapse'

With the potential for a blood moons financial collapse this fall, you are probably concerned about preparing yourself for it—and preparing your finances in particular. It is quite interesting when we examine the past to see some of the potential outcomes that could occur this year.
Scholars have observed a pattern of economic crashes that have occurred with regularity. Recent financial cycles have worked on a seven-year cycle:
  • It started in 1966 with a 20 percent stock market crash.
  • Seven years later, the market lost another 45 percent (1973-74).
  • Seven years later was the beginning of the "hard recession" (1980).
  • Seven years later was the Black Monday crash of 1987.
  • Seven years later was the bond market crash of 1994.
  • Seven years later was 9/11 and the 2001 tech bubble collapse.
  • Seven years later was the 2008 global financial collapse.
  • 2015: What's next?
These cycles have brought us a wide variety of unique economic events: the Arab oil embargo, the Savings & Loan crisis, Black Monday, the 1994 bond massacre, the 2001 NASDAQ crash and the 2008 financial collapse. But what is similar is that each financial crisis occurred following a seven-year pattern.
Because of these unique seven-year cycles, many have been anticipating that we could face another major economic crash based on the pattern. That brings us to 2015. What could happen?
Seven-Year Market Cycles
In addition to these seven-year cycles, there are extra elements that make this cycle even more extraordinary. This seven-year cycle lines up with the seven- and 49-year cycles of land rest and jubilee debt forgiveness that God commanded the Israelites to follow.
The jubilee year is the year at the end of seven cycles of shmita, which are sabbatical years. This is a special focus on the impact on the ownership and management of land in Israel. Jubilee deals primarily with land, property and property rights. According to Leviticus, slaves and prisoners would be freed, debts would be forgiven, and the mercies of God would manifest.
If this cycle holds true again in 2015, investors could see one of the worst markets they have ever seen—worse than the Great Depression and the financial collapse of 2008.
But even if you don't believe anything about the blood moons financial collapse of 2015, it does present an excellent opportunity to prepare your investment portfolio for greater volatility.
After all, the stock market has been up for seven years in a row now, and at some point, we're likely to see a reversal, maybe even a very serious one.
Turn Your Heart Toward God
When faced with a crisis, the normal response is often fear and worry. However, Scripture teaches us, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Ps. 55:22). Do this each time you feel fearful or worried.
4 Financial Strategies to Prepare for a Blood Moons Collapse
I have put together five financial strategies to help you prepare for a potential collapse. Here are the strategies:
1. Sell your investments and go to cash. Cash is the ultimate safe haven. Though it doesn't pay much in the way of interest these days, it doesn't lose value. During a time when the financial markets are in turmoil and falling relentlessly, simply not losing any money can look like a brilliant investment. And it really is, because the first rule of investing is to not lose any money.
Going to cash is fairly easy to do in a taxable investment account. The biggest complication will be the tax liability that will result from selling winning positions. But since capital gains taxes are limited to 20 percent, the tax liability may look like a small price to pay to avoid a 50 percent decline in stock prices as a result of a major fall.
2. Use inverse ETFs. It's actually possible to make money from a declining market. You can do this using an inverse exchange-traded fund. Also known as a short ETF, it's an ETF that is arranged by including certain derivatives that profit from the decline of the underlying securities or index. This is similar to shorting individual stocks, except that you are spreading the risk among various securities. A big advantage to this type of shorting is that you don't need to open up a margin account in order to do it.
There are various types of inverse ETFs, including some that focus on common indexes, as well as those that are tied to specific market sectors. There are also inverse ETFs that go two or even three times short the market (with your profit greater than the corresponding drop in security values).

Some examples of inverse ETFs include:
  • ProShares Short S&P 500 (SH): This is an inverse ETF designed to go 1 X the opposite of the S&P 500. For example, if the S&P goes down 1 percent, this, in theory, should go up 1 percent.
  • ProShares Ultra Short S&P 500 (SDS): This is an inverse ETF designed to go 2 X the opposite of the S&P 500. For example, if the S&P goes down 1 percent, this in theory should go up 2 percent.
  • Direxion Daily S&P 500 Bear 3X Shares Fund (SPXS): This is an inverse ETF designed to go 3 X the opposite of the S&P 500. For example, if the S&P goes down 1 percent, this in theory should go up 3 percent.
This is a highly risky strategy in the current market, since there is a pronounced upside bias across the board. You don't want to go to inverse ETFs unless we're in an obvious bear market. This would be the kind of market that's being driven lower by pronounced outside forces that are unlikely to relent. The events of the blood moons' prophecy would certainly qualify for this.
3. Buy put options. Another strategy is to buy "put options." A put option is an option where you buy an option contract that gives you the right—but not the obligation—to sell a specific amount of a stock at a certain price in a certain timeframe. The value of the put rises as the price of the underlying stock drops.
As an example, let's say that you buy a put, giving you the right to sell 100 shares of ABC Corp at $50, expiring June 15, at a premium of $5 per share. If the price of the stock falls to $30, you can purchase 100 shares for $3,000, then sell them to the option writer for $50 per share, or $5,000. Your net profit on the transaction will be $2,000, minus the $500 premium paid for the put contract, or a net gain of $1,500.
This can work against you too. In the event that the value of the stock is at $60 by the expiration date, you will simply allow the contract to expire. But in the process, you will forfeit the $5-per-share premium that you paid to purchase the contract. You will be out $500.

4. Buy counter-cyclical investments. This is probably the best strategy if you believe that circumstances will go from bad to worse. Gold, silver and platinum represent a play against the value of the dollar more than anything else. They tend to rise when stability is threatened, which undermines the value of the dollar.
Expect the Worst, Pray for the Best
It is very difficult to predict the precise dates for an economic collapse. However, much of the data suggests we could see this play out in September or October of this year. This doesn't mean a collapse couldn't happen sooner or later; it could be months or years away.
Keep in mind every financial decision involves some element of risk. When considering any strategy, always evaluate your risks. What is the best that could happen? What is the worst that could happen?
Failing to prepare today may increase the magnitude of your suffering in the future. It is better to prepare five years too early than to be even five minutes too late. Draw closer to God, pray hard and make sure you have a solid financial game plan.

How to Prepare for the Holy Spirit's Next Move - J. Lee Grady

Holy Spirit move

Are you ready for the Holy Spirit's next move? (Vitaly Vitorsky)

How to Prepare for the Holy Spirit's Next Move

At the height of the Jesus movement in 1972, tie-dyed hippies gathered in parks and stadiums to celebrate their newfound faith in Christ. But when these young converts went home to visit traditional churches, many were rejected because they had long hair and preferred to worship using drums and guitars instead of pianos and pipe organs.
Even though these kids were full of the Holy Spirit and excited about preaching the gospel in the streets, the church turned them away—because Christians weren't ready for something new.
God desires to bring a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit in every generation. The prophet Isaiah wrote: "Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert" (Is. 43:19). Even when we are in a spiritual drought, God promises to unleash a river of His presence and power.
I am convinced we are standing on the threshold of another wave of the Spirit. But we must face these questions: Are we ready? Will we be aware? Will we embrace the next outpouring of the Spirit when it comes, or will we stick our noses in the air like the traditional denominations of the 1970s did?
If you want to be ready for all that God has for you in this new season, take these steps:
1. Rekindle the Spirit's flame in your heart. You will be ready for revival when revival stirs your own heart. You must be hungry for more of God. Ask the Lord to give you that hunger. Then begin to seek Him with passion. Set aside daily time to pray and read His Word. Ask Him to fill you afresh with the Holy Spirit.
2. Dismantle all dead religious tradition. Jesus warned the Pharisees that they would miss the day of His visitation because of their stale traditions. Many churches today are stuck in a time warp; they sing 1970s songs and enforce a 1950s dress code, so no one from 2015 feels comfortable visiting their church except the people who live in their religious bubble. You will never break out of tradition until you "sing a new song" (see Ps. 98:1; Is. 42:10) and welcome a fresh encounter with God.
3. Be willing to move geographically. The Bible says Naomi moved from Moab to Bethlehem when she heard God was visiting His people (see Ruth 1:6). If she had stayed where things were familiar and comfortable, Naomi would have missed God's best for her and her family. Before the Lord pours out His fresh anointing, He gets His people in position. Make sure you are in the place where He wants you. He may be calling you to relocate to a new city or a new church to prepare you for revival.
4. Align yourself with the right people. Abram had to separate from his nephew Lot before he could inherit all of God's blessings. Sometimes people can keep us from experiencing all that God has for us. If you are enmeshed in toxic relationships that hinder your spiritual growth, break free from their influence and find healthy mentors, friends and spiritual leaders who can encourage and equip you. Sometimes this might mean leaving an unhealthy church to find a healthy one.
5. Allow God to meddle with your sectarian pride. Christians tend to be cliquish. We find a church or denomination we are comfortable with, and then we tend to look down on all other groups as if they are inferior. We think we have the best worship style, the coolest pastors or the soundest doctrine. So if the Holy Spirit shows up at the church down the street, we are smug and suspicious—and quick to criticize what is actually God's work. Don't let pride cause you to oppose what He's doing.
6. Be open to God's surprises. When the Azusa Street revival erupted in Los Angeles in 1906, everyone was shocked when the biblical gift of speaking in tongues was restored to the church. In the charismatic revival of the 1960s, no one expected to see Presbyterians, Catholics, Methodists, Baptists and Mennonites filled with the Holy Spirit—in the same meeting!
The Holy Spirit never violates Scripture, but He loves to open up rivers of anointing to do refreshing new things we have not seen in our generation. He wants an outbreak of miracles. He wants to break racial barriers. He wants to reach immigrants—even those who are illegal. He wants to heal those who struggle with embarrassing addictions, psychological problems and gender confusion. He wants the gifts of the Holy Spirit to break out in churches that have never seen His power. Let's expect the unexpected.

Specific Direction is Coming from Heaven by Lana Vawser

Specific Direction is Coming from Heaven

by Lana Vawser

Identity Network

He has gone before you and has prepared the way for you. HE will make your paths straight. Many have been experiencing high levels of anxiety over decisions and direction lately, and I want to encourage you....

He is coming with GREAT DIRECTION! Make sure you are PAYING ATTENTION!

"Your ears will hear a word behind you, 'This is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right or to the left." Isaiah 30:21

No matter what may be attempting to lead you off track, stay close to the Father's heart and lean in, KNOWING that HE is leading you, has gone before you, and you will NOT stumble and fall as you continue to draw closer to Him.

You will see things that are rising up against you, falling to the wayside. You will see things that aren't coming into alignment with heaven's blueprints and plans over your life, will fall to the wayside.

"Trust in the Lord completely, and not on your own opinions, but with all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in all the decisions you make. Become intimate with Him, in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go."  Proverbs 3:5-6 - The Passion Translation

Angelic Visitations

Pay attention to what the Spirit is revealing and leading. I saw angels being released in increase holding COMPASSES in their hands and they were coming to the people of God with specific instructions. When they came to the people of God before the directions were revealed there was an alignment happening.

I saw these angels hold the compasses up to the hearts of the people of God and the arrow would indicate their "true north."  If the arrow was out of alignment of the true north being HIM, those who were feeling lost, bewildered, confused, hurt, broken and had lost their depth of intimacy with Jesus, suddenly the vision changed and Jesus came to these ones and began to dance with them with such love and affection towards them.

There was such a wooing taking place, a deeper invitation into intimacy and as they danced, I watched the arrows come back to true north. His love and kindness was bringing a beautiful alignment to His people and then once the alignment had shifted back to intimacy, these angelic hosts then back to release direction.

For others that were on true north, these angelic hosts were handing them these compasses and these ones were then lead into greater realms of revelation of His Word and who He is, which will then unlock new doors in the natural.

Specific Direction is Coming - Ask for Wisdom

Specific direction is coming from heaven. Lean in. Do not forsake asking the Lord for wisdom. He will freely grant it and the wisdom He releases will bring life to you and all that you touch.

Continue to worship and adore Him and great wisdom will be poured out upon you that will bring breakthrough, and as you walk in His wisdom and integrity there will be refreshment and healing in many bodies. In the encounters with His wisdom in worship, walking close to Him, bodies are being healed.

"For wisdom comes when you adore Him with awe and wonder, and avoid everything that's wrong - for then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit longs for."  Proverbs 3:7 - The Passion Translation

Those who operate in the wisdom of God will see all they place their heads upon turn to gold and will stand out in the world and attract those of great influence which will then see networks and partnerships for happen to bring shifts in atmospheres into the world for the Kingdom and Glory of God.

Trust in the Lord! Trust Him, even when you don't understand. Let Him lead you and guide you and follow His specific direction.

These specific directions are being released now to equip the people of God, to stretch, grow and promote the people of God. Ears must be tune to Him and as you follow His specific instruction, you will see you are being lead into greater realms of breakthrough, revelation and life.

Do not be anxious, do not stress. Trust Him completely. He has your best interests at heart! He has specific counsel and wisdom, He is about to impart. Just ask! :)

"As Water Reflects a Face" ✡ Children of the Same God

As water reflects a face back to a face, so one's heart is reflected back to him by another.

PROVERBS (27:19)

Today’s Israel Inspiration

Today's verse from Proverbs contains a wonderful tip for improving personal relationships. Our feelings towards another person reflect back to us like a mirror. If we feel love or hate for a person, he or she will feel the same way in return. To improve a relationship, one need only work on exuding positive energy and admiration for the person in mind, and like a mirror, his heart will begin to match ours. "Heart to Heart" is Israel's National Blood Bank, sustaining Israel’s blood supply to help ensure that sick and injured Israelis can get the blood they need in case of emergency.

A Total Heart Cleansing by Yolanda Ballard

A Total Heart Cleansing

by Yolanda Ballard

Identity Network

Come before Me, My children, with fasting and with prayer for I AM your God, and I desire you to walk in true humility and repentance. For this is the time and the hour where I will pour out My power upon you, but you must be ready. You must be a pure vessel to carry My glory and My power.

Too many in this hour have become deceived in thinking that what they are doing is purely of Me and it is not. Too many have taken my Words in vain and twisted them to their own justification of what they are doing. Come before Me with an open and teachable heart, and I will show you the error of your ways in justifying your own works. I AM calling you to true humility, My people. I AM calling you to true repentance.

If you are willing, I will pour out upon you my gifts that will enable you to walk in My perfect will. I will enable you to stand up bold. You do not need to fear man or any other created thing, because I gave you authority over all the power of the enemy. You do not need to hide your convictions any longer. If I AM for you, who can be against you?

Walk With Me

You do not need to compromise your faith. Walk with Me uprightly not hiding your light in any area, but just shine My love and grace upon others. Do not hold back in any area that I am calling you to walk in. Just step out boldly in faith, and I will meet your every need. Be My people and I will be your God.

What is the true motivation of your walk with Me? Are the things you are doing from a pure heart of adoration of Me, or are they from a heart of competing with one another out of jealousy? This is a time to truly examine your heart. Are you making a name and fame for yourself, or are you lifting up My name? You need to truly examine your heart, and be honest even with yourself.

What is motivating most of your actions in ministry? Is it love or pride? What is keeping you from receiving all that I have for you? For My hands are tied when there is willful sin present in your life. Do not suppress that which isn't of Me any longer. Let the truth of your actions rise to the surface so that I can skim it off that you may be clean through and through.

Who Knows the Heart of Man?

You are My people, and I understand what you are going through. I have been tempted to sin in every area, but I had victory over it all that I may come through victorious for you that you may overcome. Pridefulness and deception comes in many different forms for the enemy is so subtle trying to trip you up in it.

There may be deceitfulness in your own heart, and you not even know it. Who knows the heart of man, unless I reveal it to you? That is why I say be open and teachable, and I will show you the error of your ways that you may be humble and broken before Me. Like the alabaster box, unless it is broken open, the fragrance of the perfume cannot come forth.

So I encourage you, My children, if you want to be used in a great way in My end time army, humble yourself before Me that I may clean your heart. Cry out for the baptism of brokenness that I may freely flow through you. This is the time and the hour that I will pour out My power. But only on those who are ready. Open up that I may show you the error of your ways, and show you that of your heart that isn't of Me, for I AM ready to do a total heart cleansing of those of you who are willing. Dying brings forth life. Brokenness brings forth freedom in Me.

DOING GOOD - SIGN by Morris Ruddick

DOING GOOD

(c) Morris Ruddick

"So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith." Gal 6:10

As a Body, we tend to get myopic. That's not something new. It's a plague that has been grappled with since there has been a household of faith. It's why there are so many groupings and divides within those who bear His Name.

This myopia has made its mark following every biblical and post-biblical revival over the centuries. Genuine spiritual renewals have life-cycles in the dynamic of God's manifested presence displacing evil. The reality-of-God imparted is so far beyond human grasp that anything short of the anointing, designed to prolong its potency, just tends to weaken and diminish the results. So over time, the progressive, imperfect blending of the natural and impure short-circuits the supernatural.

Revivals are times when God's manifest presence expands and illuminates our horizons. Revivals create movements that change things. Historically though, movements have digressed into becoming institutionalized. In that process the fire and power fade. This is by no means a swipe at institutions, but rather a call to give focus to what is truly important in this process: knowing Him and being a light to those around us. It's the reason why we need to overcompensate with listening hearts as different segments of the Body interact. No one group has a pure grasp, not to speak of the capacity, for the total picture.

In further illustrating this myopia, doctrine is the means rather than the end. When we stand before the Lord on that final day, we're not going to be examined on the basis of doctrine, but rather our heart responses to God and those around us and the difference our lives have made. That also is not a swipe against sound doctrine. Rather, it's to recognize the reality of the myopia -- which has a long track record of missing the forest for the trees -- in order to give focus to reaching for what's most important.

Sound doctrine serves the purpose of establishing our identity in Him and the character to walk out the purpose of a life of faith: doing good. That's not the premise of salvation, but rather the result of it.

Jesus punctuated this significant distinction, based not on our limited perceptions of righteousness, but instead on the evidence reflected by the consistency of our practices, as demonstrators of the truth we claim to believe.

"For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed. But he who DOES THE TRUTH comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." John 3:19-21

All of which brings us to the point made by Paul in the opening scripture. In the mandate to "do good," first priority is to be given to the household of faith.

Raising the Bar

Jesus came to raise the bar. Some within the Body have concluded that Jesus came to establish a new religion. Others have digressed into the same trap of elitism that snared the Pharisees, only with a Christian spin to it. Each is equally myopic.

Jesus made it very clear that He came not to destroy the law and the prophets, but to bring fulfillment to that foundation. He went to the degree of saying that whoever broke one of the lesser parts of the law AND taught others to do likewise, that they would be deemed least in the Kingdom. He didn't say they would be expelled, He said their impact would be diminished to where they would be considered among the least.

There's something about these foundations that Jesus never intended to be excluded. It's because truth can be overshadowed by short-sighted precepts. Watering down dilutes. Jesus said: "He who is faithful in what is least, is faithful also in much."

That's why we need to extract ourselves from the myopia and start reaching for the big-picture. Jesus always clarified and gave focus to central issues and the strategic. His response to the Pharisee who asked Him what was most important (Matt 22:39) was to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as your self."

To the rich young ruler's query, Jesus first advised him (Matt 19:17-21) not to murder, commit adultery, steal, or bear false witness -- and to honor his parents and love his neighbors as himself. Self-righteously, the rich young man then asked what he lacked, since he met each of these criteria. Jesus' response, "if he truly wanted to be perfect," was to divest his assets and give it to the poor and then follow Him.

Jesus raised the bar. For each one Jesus called, it involved a step beyond themselves. Doctrines and followings have resulted from focus given to the uniqueness of the criterion for different callings. Yet, it wasn't the same for each. The calling of Peter was very different from the calling of Nathaniel, as it was from the calling of Levi.

For each, it was very personal. The key was in the reorientation, in response to truth. and with that, in the walk that followed.

The significance is in the walk, not the criteria of the calling. For some, like Peter, it took longer than others. But then, perhaps it was because the bar was higher for his calling. Consistently, since His earthly ministry, Jesus has pulled people out of their short-sighted muck and set them on a big-picture course to make a difference. It is a course of "doing good" with a process that has as much significance as the ends.

"If you are presenting your offering at the altar and remember that your brother has something against you, then go, be reconciled to your brother, before presenting your gift." Matt 5:23, 24

The Challenge

Carol and I came to faith during a time of God-birthed revival. We were drawn and greatly impacted by what we saw operating in the walk of certain believers. We saw the reality of God being demonstrated. It was beyond the ordinary. It tied back to a leader who was nurturing God's blueprint for a group of spiritually hungry pilgrims.

Over time, the growth of this man's effort resulted in new leaders being brought in. Their approach was not as far-sighted and innovative as what the founder had established. Division resulted that ultimately scattered the foundational work. The confusion and disarray resulted in many casualties among those who had been in the process of being helped.

Another example took place in a completely different time frame in another part of the world. The founder of a far-sighted work brought much benefit to the entire household of faith in this area. However, a member of his board became offended. Despite public overtures, the result was the offense becoming a seedbed taken up by others in the leadership. Deceit ran rampant and eventually the founder was squeezed out. The short story is that the "ousters" failed in their attempt to replicate what had been established and the entire effort floundered and was shut down.

Many other examples of misuses of authority, presumption, blind-spots and misguided tongues mark short-sighted spiritual conditions that create fleshly responses to and within otherwise God-birthed agendas and movements. Peter advised us to be wary of our adversary the devil. We indeed live in a fallen world.

Misguided Influence

On the other hand, James warned that teachers would be held to a higher standard and judged more strictly. So it is with those in leadership. The tripping point bearing myopic ripples underscoring this warning is with the factor of community influence.

The tendency is to bypass the standard for biblical community and God's blueprint for His followers, by myopically making an idol of the community/ ministry effort rather than it being the platform for nurturing and serving.

God's design for biblical community is as a safe place. It's a place where the diversity of gifts and mantles within its members can flow, grow, give benefit to one another and be a blessing to all exposed to it. Instead, it too often can be a war zone. Far too often, that is how the world sees us as a people of God: for the differences, emnities and division.

Jesus said we would know "them" by their fruits. The fruits from the founders of these two examples above fit the criteria Jesus spoke of in being a light on a hill that could not be hidden. However, the fruit for those whose efforts brought down these works -- are the casualties and those who never got helped by the imperfect, although anointed efforts of the founders.

Whenever the fruit involves a history of casualties created by those whose ends seem to justify short-sighted means, if correction is not prompt, the result will be judgment. It bears on the myopia, the maturity and the maintenance required for those wielding the mantles of leadership. Within the crucible, even among the elite in Jewish circles, is Jacob's corner-cutting iniquity and Ephraim's enmity.

"Ephraim was called as a watchman and prophet to the surrounding nations; but has become a fowler's snare in all his ways. There is enmity, hostility, and persecution in the house of his God." Hos 9:8

Similarly, throughout the household of faith, are the misguided crusaders who would tear down established works for flaws and premature judgments, driven by myopic blind spots, which overshadow the good. Hypocrisy defiles the standard and the process.

Defining the Focus

Jesus said (Mark 9:49): "Everyone will be seasoned with fire and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt."

This statement follows Jesus' comment (v 42) that whoever causes one of these little ones to stumble, it would be better if a millstone was hung around his neck and he was cast into the sea. That's pretty strong.

Matthew has a parallel reference to this truth (Matt 18:6,7). It highlights the OFFENSES of causing ones less mature, under one's influence, to stumble. Jesus' reference to offenses wasn't about hurt feelings. He was talking about short-sighted applications of power and truth. Jesus was pointing to those whose blind-spots or immaturity result in misguided use of their authority and influence, which creates casualties among those under their authority.

The answer is in the application of the truth, in the salting, which preserves and gives flavor and life to the walk and to the work. Jesus' solution doesn't pamper. He says if your hand causes you to sin, then cut it off. If it's your eye, then pluck it out. He was drawing from Isaiah 33:15, a truth which illustrates a standard in which one keeps his hands from taking bribes and his eyes from considering evil. It's about relationships.

It emphasizes the importance and assurance of a trustworthy relational foundation that reflects the seasoning needed to operate in peace toward one another.

"Have salt in yourselves and peace with one another." Mark 9:50

One of the most profound doctrinal statements I've yet to hear is: "God is a good God and the devil is a bad devil." Trust is a mark in the dividing line between good and evil. Jesus raised the bar so that the household of faith would uphold that standard and become that "city set on a hill that cannot be hidden."

The Apostle James strongly emphasizes holding to the standard as DOERS of the word. The admonition is to make it a lifestyle.

"Prove yourselves to be doers of the word and not merely hearers, who deceive themselves." James 1:22

Jesus points to the big-picture with the priority He calls on to be given to the stewardship of preparation and doing.

"Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion in due season?  Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so DOING when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. But the one who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes." Luke 12:42-45

The big picture purpose will become clearer as we get our interim priorities aligned. Then God's judgment against evil will trigger the gates to His glory being manifested within the household of faith.

"Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates, and lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts, You are the King of glory." Psalm 24:6-10.

The world sees beyond the press releases and promotional spins given by the household of faith. The world is looking for the reality of God. The process, as a people -- not the end -- is our witness. That's why revival is so significant. God's presence is a consuming fire. It's the irresistible draw that cuts past the superficial and phony and gives focus to what matters and what is real.

For those awash in the evil and turbulence taking place in the world today, we -- the household of faith -- are the signposts and lifeboats. People will be drawn by what they see operating within our ranks. When we get the "doing good" right, THEN the reality of God is demonstrated, which draws the world like a magnet.

The big picture is in doing good, but getting it right first within the household of faith.
"So, let your light shine before men, that they may see your GOOD WORKS and glorify your Father in heaven."  Matt 5:16
