Southern California Time Bomb: The Ground Surrounding The San Andreas Fault Is ‘Rising And Sinking’ - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Pacific Plate And The North American Plate

Posted: 22 Jun 2016  Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

If you reside on the west coast, you are living on borrowed time.  As you will see below, stress has been building up along the San Andreas fault for more than a century, and scientists tell us that southern California is way overdue for a major earthquake.  When that stress is finally released, the U.S. Geological Survey says that we could be looking at hundreds of billions of dollars in damage.

If you follow my work regularly, then you already know that there has been unusual shaking all along the “Ring of Fire” so far in 2016.  But thankfully the west coast of the United States has been spared from a major disaster up to this point.  Unfortunately, scientists assure us that it is only a matter of time before one strikes, and that is why it is so alarming that the ground surrounding the San Andreas fault has been “rising and sinking”.  The following comes from the Los Angeles Times
For the first time, scientists have produced a computer image showing huge sections of California rising and sinking around the San Andreas fault.
The vertical movement is the result of seismic strain that will be ultimately released in a large earthquake.
The California coastline is where two enormous tectonic plates come together.  The Pacific plate and the North American plate are slowly but surely moving against one another, and this creates a tremendous amount of geological stress.  While areas on both sides of the San Andreas fault have been steadily rising and sinking as a result of this stress, there are sections of the fault itself that have remained “locked” for more than 100 years, and other sections that have remained locked for more than 300 years
The region of the San Andreas fault between Monterey County and Imperial County hasn’t moved in a significant way in more than 150 years, and other parts of the fault have been accumulating stress for more than 300 years.
This build up of stress is extremely dangerous, because the more stress that builds up the worse the ultimate release of that stress could turn out to be.

If you look at this map from the U.S. Geological Survey, you can see all of the earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 or greater that have hit California within the past seven days.  As you can see, there has been a whole lot of shaking going on…

California Earthquakes June 2015 - U.S. Geological Survey

And let us not forget that earlier this month a magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near San Diego, and it was followed by more than 800 aftershocks.

Unfortunately, none of these quakes has relieved the stress along the San Andreas fault.  While the San Andreas fault may be the most famous of the faults in southern California, the truth is that there are many others.  And just last year the U.S. Geological Survey admitted that the probability of a “megaquake” along the west coast involving multiple faults at once was significantly greater than they had previously been projecting
A recent report by the U.S. Geological Survey shows the inevitability of just such a quake, which is predicted to hit within the next couple of decades.
“The new likelihoods are due to the inclusion of possible multi-fault ruptures, where earthquakes are no longer confined to separate, individual faults, but can occasionally rupture multiple faults simultaneously,” lead author of the study and USGS scientist, Ned Field says. “This is a significant advancement in terms of representing a broader range of earthquakes throughout California’s complex fault system.”
But of course the San Andreas fault represents an absolutely massive threat to southern California all by itself.

Back in May, the Los Angeles Times quoted the director of the Southern California Earthquake Center as saying that the San Andreas fault is “locked, loaded and ready to roll”…
“The springs on the San Andreas system have been wound very, very tight. And the southern San Andreas fault, in particular, looks like it’s locked, loaded and ready to go,” Jordan said in the opening keynote talk.
Other sections of the San Andreas fault also are far overdue for a big quake. Further southeast of the Cajon Pass, such as in San Bernardino County, the fault has not moved substantially since an earthquake in 1812, and further southeast toward the Salton Sea, it has been relatively quiet since about 1680 to 1690.
Here’s the problem: Scientists have observed that based on the movement of tectonic plates, with the Pacific plate moving northwest of the North American plate, earthquakes should be relieving about 16 feet of accumulated plate movement every 100 years. Yet the San Andreas has not relieved stress that has been building up for more than a century.
A number of years ago, a study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey found that just a magnitude 7.8 earthquake along the southern San Andreas fault would cause more than 1,800 deaths, 50,000 injuries and 200 billion dollars in damage.

So what would a magnitude 8 or worse quake do?

And even though the U.S. Geological Survey does not believe that parts of California will eventually fall into the ocean, it is very open about the fact that Los Angeles and San Francisco will one day “be adjacent to one another” as the Pacific plate and the North American plate slowly slip past each other…
Will California eventually fall into the ocean?
No. The San Andreas Fault System, which crosses California from the Salton Sea in the south to Cape Mendocino in the north, is the boundary between the Pacific Plate and North American Plate. The Pacific Plate is moving northwest with respect to the North American Plate at approximately 46 millimeters per year (the rate your fingernails grow). The strike-slip earthquakes on the San Andreas Fault are a result of this plate motion. The plates are moving horizontally past one another, so California is not going to fall into the ocean. However, Los Angeles and San Francisco will one day be adjacent to one another!
Meanwhile, while we are talking about southern California, I just had to mention the record-breaking heatwave and the horrific wildfires that are plaguing the region this week.  In fact, two massive wildfires that have been raging out of control threaten to combine “into one super fire”
Two new fires raging in California could soon merge, creating one ‘super fire’, as wild blazes continue to consume thousands of acres and have already force massive evacuations.
Throughout the United States, firefighters are battling blazes of varying degrees in nine states, including California, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, Montana, Washington, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.
The most serious of these fires have been week-old blazes in California, New Mexico and Arizona, where scorching triple-digit temperatures have stoked the flames.
Normally we don’t see wildfires of this size and intensity until the late summer or early fall.
As I constantly remind my readers, last year was the worst year for wildfires in all of U.S. history, and so far this year we are more than a million acres ahead of the pace that was set last year.

We live at a time when our planet is becoming increasingly unstable.  Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, wildfires, historic droughts and unusual flooding events all seem to be on the rise globally.

So is there a reason why all of this is happening, or are we just going through a time when we are experiencing an astounding string of truly bizarre coincidences?

End of Days Yellowstone Volcano Prophesied in Zechariah By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - BREAKING NEWS

End of Days Yellowstone Volcano Prophesied in Zechariah

“And I will bring the third part through the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name and I will answer them; I will say: ‘It is My people’ and they shall say: ‘Hashem is my God.’” Zechariah 13:9 (The Israel Bible™)
Experts are concerned that recent signs of  increased seismic activity in Yellowstone National Park could be the prelude to a massive eruption that, even by conservative estimates, would have global implications, including nationwide food shortages. A Jerusalem Kabbalist explains how this was prophesied in the Bible to be a painful but necessary part of the Messianic process.
One of Yellowstone Park’s more impressive sights, a 40-mile-wide caldera crater, is a grim reminder of the potential for massive destruction that lies beneath the scenic beauty in the heartland of America. Super-volcanos are so explosive that, rather than leave a normal volcanic cone, they create a massive hole. Yellowstone is a 3,500 square mile crater created 630,000 years ago when 240 cubic miles of debris were blasted into the air, fueled by a pressurized reservoir of magma under the park.
Signs of seismic unrest are beginning to appear. One month ago, the nearby Shoshone River suddenly started boiling. The water changed color and began to emit a sulfuric odor, a sure sign of seismic activity that hasn’t been seen in the river for over 200 years.
This was followed by increased volcanic rumblings, and though small tremors are common, Yellowstone was struck by a series of relatively large tremors. On June 9, a magnitude 3.7 earthquake hit the region, on June 13 there was a magnitude 4.3 earthquake, and on June 15, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0.
Though most people associate seismic calamity with California and the Pacific Crescent of Fire, Yellowstone sits on what scientists consider the single most dangerous volcanic site in the world. A major eruption at Yellowstone would bring on global disaster. The chance of such an eruption happening at one of the major volcanoes within 80 years is put at five to ten per cent by the experts, and Yellowstone could very well be it.
Underneath Yellowstone lies a reservoir of magma more than twice the size previously thought. A US Geological Survey (USGS) study in 2014 discovered that the lava reservoir is enormous: 55 miles by 20 miles on each side and about 6 miles deep. This is as full as it was when it erupted in prehistoric times.
A super-volcano at Yellowstone has the potential to spew more than 240 cubic miles of magma across Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, more than 1,100 times the magma that flowed from Mount Saint Helens in 1980, killing 57 people. Experts estimate that a Yellowstone eruption would kill 87,000 people immediately,
A catastrophic eruption in Yellowstone would immediately threaten people in the heartland of America, but the more devastating effects would be felt across the entire country and perhaps even the world. A layer of ash would cover the entire US and southern Canada, causing damage and preventing air travel. Europe experienced this in 2010, when relatively small eruptions at Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland led to 20 countries closing their airspace to commercial jet traffic, affecting about 10 million travellers.
Find Out What Your Hebrew Name Is Today!
But an eruption at Yellowstone would be more than an inconvenience for vacationers and herds of bison. In a study concluded last year, researchers from the University of Utah called the magma reservoir under Yellowstone National Park, “one of the planet’s biggest time bombs.” They noted that the chances of a catastrophic eruption at this time are small, “but when it does blow, it probably will change the world.” They predicted that the effects of an eruption would dwarf any natural disaster to date, similar to nuclear winter, but on a much greater scale. The study noted that, “these types of events have been known to touch off ice ages”.
“If another large caldera-forming eruption were to occur at Yellowstone, its effects would be worldwide. It would drastically shift the world’s climate,” said researcher Hsin-Hua Huang.
After a rash of earthquakes in April, Rabbi Yitzchak Batzri, a known Kabbalist from Jerusalem, told Breaking Israel News that this was prophesied in Psalms for the end of days.
Who looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke (Psalm 104:32)
“This describes what will happen in the End of Days before the final redemption,” Rabbi Batzri said. “There will be an earthquake in Israel, but it will be beneficial, opening up the Temple Mount, bringing forth living waters, purifying the city to receive the Messiah.”
When asked about the seismic activity in Yellowstone, the rabbi explained that in the book of Zechariah, it is prophesied that two thirds of the world will be destroyed by fire in the end of days.
And I will bring the third part through the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name and I will answer them; I will say: ‘It is My people’ and they shall say: ‘Hashem is my God.’ (Zechariah 13:9)
“The entire world will see earthquakes and eruptions in the end of days,” the rabbi explained. “It will purify Israel, just as a mikveh (pool of water) purifies, but for the rest of the world it will purify by fire, like a crucible.”

Evangelicals Sing a New Tune on Trump: 'Meeting May Be a Tipping Point' - CBN News David Brody

Evangelicals Sing a New Tune on Trump: 'Meeting May Be a Tipping Point'
06-22-2016
CBN News David Brody

NEW YORK -- Donald Trump seemed to help his case after meeting with hundreds of evangelical leaders in Times Square on Tuesday.  He's going to need that crucial voting bloc to have a real shot at winning the presidency.
From mega-church pastors to longtime stalwarts, they heard Trump speak out about defending religious liberty, including his desire to get rid of IRS restrictions that muzzles political talk from the pulpit. Trump said a repeal may be "my biggest contribution to Christianity."

In that room, among the 900 or so evangelical leaders, there were quite a few who were not for Trump going into the meeting. After the meeting some minds seemed to change.

"The ball has moved forward a little bit. And I appreciate Mr. Trump's willingness to reach out to the evangelical community," said Matt Barber, founder and editor-in chief of BarbWire.com.

"After hearing him today, I will prayerfully consider it as a possibility, in light of the alternative," reflected Barber.

That alternative is Hillary Clinton. Trump made clear his Supreme Court picks would make them proud, unlike what Clinton might bring to the table.
Trump also talked about how evangelicals need to band together because their rights and values are under attack.
What pleased some attendees was that Trump didn't appear to make any major mistakes or give reason for pause.

"I can't remember any time during the several hours this morning that his answer disappointed or that there was chagrin about it," recalled Gary Bauer, president of American Values.

Trump's senior adviser, Sarah Huckabee, also attended the event.

"He did something that most Republican nominees in the past have refused to do and that's walk into this room and be willing to sit down, take their questions and really interact with them in a very big way," Huckabee told CBN News.

With some evangelicals still wary, the brash outsider will need more outreach, but for now at least, it seems to be working.

"As it pertains to the evangelical vote and the candidacy of Donald J. Trump, today's meeting may very well be a tipping point," predicted Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

A pro-family leader, Rodriguez says he knew plenty of pastors who were skeptical before the meeting, but inside, something changed, he said.

"After hearing his commitment, his very well-defined, articulated commitment to religious liberty and life, the Supreme Court especially, I think you saw a number of the same pastors walk out going, 'that's what I needed to hear," Rodriguez said.

And that's something the Trump campaign needed to hear after a rough few weeks of headlines.
It will be important for them to build on any progress here by getting evangelicals to move beyond words and work actively for Trump among their flocks.

Millennial Missionaries: How this Generation Is Impacting the World - CBN News Caitlin Burke

Millennial Missionaries: How this Generation Is Impacting the World
06-22-16 CBN News Caitlin Burke

AREQUIPA, Peru -- Each new generation gets measured against their parents and grandparents in a number of areas, including faith. The difference for Millennials is they're growing up in an age of non-stop news and social media.
According to research this generation scores low on attending church, praying and making religion a priority; but it's not all doom and gloom.
A Globally Minded Generation
When it comes to Millennials, millions remain deeply committed and active in their faith, it's just they're doing it their own way.
"This generation is the most globally engaged generation that we've seen. They're the most cross culturally prepared generation, many would call them the first "Global's Generation." Two out of three of them have passports already by the time they're university students...They're so globally engaged already they're ready to answer the call to missions and to go," said Tom Lin, director of Urbana 15.
Every three years the Urbana Conference brings together Intervarsity USA and Canada. Students meet and investigate God's call to world evangelization.
Urbana 15 Director Tom Lin sees a growing interest in justice and compassion-related missions.
"Millennials care holistically about communities and so not just bringing the message of the Gospel or message of Christ, but living it out. So it's both word and deed. We're seeing Millennials much more interested in committing to these types of holistic mission," Lin said.
Impacting the People of Peru
In 2014, couples Katie and Jeremy Daggett and Jaclyn and Jake Blair felt called to missions and moved to Peru.

They fit right in the Christian Urban Development Association (CUDA), one of the organizations goals being to overcome cycles of poverty.
"Christian urban development, that Christian word on the front end is really important. We do all of it because we believe what Jesus did 2,000 years ago is what gives us motive and purpose and really hope, in this context where we see wealthy and poor in the same city, where we see someone who is doing really, really well and is very established and then someone who is on the edge of dire poverty. Really that situation presents some unique opportunities and we try and address those with CUDA," said Jeremy.
Jaclyn, Katie and Jake also put their medical backgrounds to work in a local hospital, developing a diabetes program. Jeremy helps teachers improve their reading program success by starting libraries in local schools.
"One of the things that looks like as the kingdom breaks in is that young kids read better and have better opportunities for the rest of their life. That's part of reconciliation for them...that's part of mission work for us," said Jeremy.
As all four use their skills to improve life for the Peruvian people; they individually focus on simply building relationships.
"When you look at Jesus' life and what he did and how he made disciples, he focused on a few guys and he poured a lot into them and from there on they changed the world, just a few guys. So when I think of my call to make disciples, I want to have a quality influence on a few people and then those people can have a quality influence on a few more people and then growth is then exponential," said Jake.
"Sometimes it means walking down the street, going to the market, running errands, going to the center of town and trying to meet people. Sharing some of who I am, starting to learn who they are and eventually moving that forward in terms of sustaining an important relationship," Jeremy added.
Overcoming Challenges
A commitment like this for a young adult brings a number of challenges, from starting over in unfamiliar surroundings to raising children away from family.
"Being here we've had to learn a new language and a new culture and in reality we feel very ill equipped to serve the people here. Really what happens is through our weakness Gods strength is shown and when things happen for His glory we know that it's him and not us," said Jaclyn.
"I think one of the main ones is being away from family. Luckily we have the technology to Face Time or Skype with our family as much as we want and get to see them. Now that we have a child, and that is our parents grandchild we have here in Peru, away from them, that does make it a little harder as well," said Katie.
Despite the challenges, these couples remain passionate and hope to continue their call to missions.
"I feel like God's call for us here could be the call for any Christian in the world and that is to be a part of God's mission of blessing people and bringing people to know him better," said Jaclyn.
"Our prayer is for the kingdom to come and for God's will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Now we find ourselves in Arequipa, Peru, so our prayer specifically is for his kingdom to come and his will to be done here in Arequipa as its being done in heaven," said Katie.

Allen West just proved why common sense is so important in the war on terror - TODAY'S ISRAEL CONNECTION

Islam is very clear on what its plan is. Why aren't we listening? Controlling Muslim immigration is not about racism or prejudice, it's about common sense. For thousands of years dating back to Muhammad himself, Islam has put in place a system of immigration with simple goal of spreading its dominance. We can either ignore this fact in the name of political correctness or stand up and retake control of our future.

Note: This is the first of a two-part series. Stay tuned Wednesday.
We are in a generation of runners. At the point of crisis, God's children tend to run from the battle instead of defeating the very enemy that has them fleeing.
People leave assignments. They quit jobs for the wrong reasons. They break off relationships.
People run from church to church, hoping to leave their past behind them. That never works. Their undefeated enemy, whether it's a spirit of rejection or anger or outright rebellion, shows up the very first day they visit their new church.
Someone visited Revival Church in Detroit a couple of years ago. One of the first things this child of God said to me was, "I've been kicked out of every church I've been in. I'm determined that this won't happen here too!"
That was a great plan, but, unfortunately, she was unwilling to battle the demons of old. Sadly, she didn't last more than several weeks with us.
Freedom
We so crave freedom from whatever bondage we are experiencing that we often demand an immediate yet premature resolution to our captivity.
In Portland, Oregon, a man was scheduled for release from prison in less than a week after 272 days behind bars. He couldn't wait. He escaped with six days left on his sentence!
He was caught just hours later.
Sometimes the quickest route to freedom is not the most direct, or the easiest, or the most obvious. In fact, sometimes it's to back up and entice our enemy to pursue us!
"Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 'Speak to the children of Israel, so that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal Zephon. Opposite it you shall camp by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, "They are confused in the land. The wilderness has shut them in." So I will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that he shall pursue them. And I will be honored because of Pharaoh and because of all his army, so that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so'" (Ex. 14:1-4, MEV).
"They were already on the borders of the desert, and a short march would have placed them beyond the reach of pursuit, as the chariots of Egypt could have made little progress over dry and yielding sand." – Jamieson-Fausset-Brown
The Israelites could have continued in the direction they were heading, and they would have been out of the reach of Pharaoh should he decide to summon his armies and chariots to pursue them.
It surely seemed to be madness for Moses to direct the people to turn back.
Freedom was to be had! It was right in front of them! But, their mandate was to turn back and to face the enemy they fled from.
I propose we embrace leaders like Moses today—those who aren't trying to lead us into the Land of Promise while avoiding the challenges, struggles and pursuing armies that God desires for us to defeat. We need leaders who lead into trouble for the sake of victory!
It is a valid question: Why would God cause freedom to be delayed? Why would he put people he loves in grave danger? Two simple reasons:
1. God will get glory.
2. They shall know God is the Lord.
God is interested in our freedom. He's also interested in His glory.
"I the Lord have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand, and will keep You and appoint You for a covenant of the people, for a light of the nations, to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images" (Is. 42:6-8, MEV).
This is such an important lesson for all of us. God's primary motivation is not to make our lives easier, nor to give us immediate satisfaction as we pursue freedom. As it always has been, and always will be, God is focused on His name being known for the sake of the generations.
We must trust God's wisdom, His truth, if we desire to experience freedom. His truth will very often violate our own wisdom or common sense:
"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, 'If you remain in My word, then you are truly My disciples. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free'" (John 8:31-32, MEV).
Note how 250 years later Gideon had an important point of reference as he dealt with his own issue of captivity:
"Then Gideon said to him, 'O my lord, if the Lord is with us, then why has all this happened to us? Where are all His miracles that our fathers told us about? They said, "Did not the Lord bring us out of Egypt?" Yet now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites'" (Judges 6:13, MEV).
Gideon heard of the of Moses and the Hebrews. That story would not have been the same if God hadn't caused them to turn back and face a fierce enemy.
"But Moses said to the people, 'Fear not! Stand firm! And see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show you today. For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see again. The Lord shall fight for you, while you hold your peace'" (Exo. 14:13-14, MEV).
Instead of taking matters into their own hands, devising plans and strategies and moving according to their own wisdom, God was instructing them to stay put and be silent. How hard this must have been for them! What a lesson in faith this was!
"The Lord said to Moses, 'Why do you cry out to Me? Speak to the children of Israel, so that they go forward. And as for you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it; then the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.  As for Me, surely, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, so that they shall follow them, and I will be honored through Pharaoh, through all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord when I am honored through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen'" (Exodus 14:15-18, MEV).
Quit crying and follow my instructions! Now it was time to advance, in the direction God revealed—right into an impossible sea. What kind of God was leading them? It seemed He was a monster, bent on their sure demise. How could God profess to love anybody if He is pushing people to the limits of their sanity by toying with them as pawns on a great, seemingly demented game board? No wonder they would end up demanding to return to Egypt!
What they needed to understand, and ultimately would, is that freedom isn't found at the place of safety. It's found in God's presence. Where He is, there is freedom, even if that means turning back to face the enemy:
"Now the Lord is the Spirit. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Cor. 3:17, MEV).

Pope Francis 'Prayer' Video Smacks of 'One World Religion' - JENNIFER LECLAIRE CHARISMA NEWS

Pope Francis waves as he arrives to lead a special Jubilee audience in Saint Peter's square at the Vatican

Pope Francis 'Prayer' Video Smacks of 'One World Religion'

Jennifer LeClaire is now sharing her reflections and revelations through Walking in the Spirit. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Many people think Pope Francis is the Antichrist, or at least the false prophet. Videos like this one don't do him any favors.
Although no reasonable person would argue against living in peace in a world of conflicting religions, the pontiff takes this ideal to a new extreme in a video message illustrating his heartfelt prayer request.
"Most of the planet's inhabitants declare themselves believers. This should lead to a dialogue among religions," he said in Italian. "We should not stop praying for it and collaborating with those who think differently."
Of course, dialogue is one thing. Compromising the tenets of Christianity is altogether different.
The video then shows quick shots of people stating their religious convictions.
A lama declares, "I have confidence in Buddha."
A rabbi confesses, "I believe in God."
A Catholic priest declares, "I believe in Jesus Christ."
An Islamic leader shares, "I believe in God, Allah."
Notably, no evangelicals or Pentecostals were in the mix.
Disturbing video footage shows the pope receiving a demonic statue from a Buddhist and bending down to pray according to Muslim tradition.
"Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting God in different ways," he says. "In this crowd, in this range of religions, there is only one certainty we have for all: We are all children of God."
Here's the problem: You can seek God in many ways, but there's only one way to the Father. There is only one way to meet God, and His name is Jesus Christ. To even hint at anything else causes confusion at best and deceives many at worst.
