Amazing True Story of an Israeli Waiter and a Prayer ✡ "Joy of the Lord is Your Strength"

And he said to them, "Go, eat rich foods and drink sweet drinks and send portions to whoever has nothing prepared, for the day is holy to our Lord, and do not be sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

NEHEMIAH (8:10)

The special obligation to provide for the poor on the festivals is described in the Bible (Deuteronomy 16:11,15) and encouraged here in today's verse from Nehemiah, who spoke to the Children of Israel on the first day of Rosh Hashanah (Nehemiah 8:2). Bring in the new year with a generosity of spirit and bring joy to the poor of Israel! Meir Panim ("lighting up faces") is an Israeli organization providing thousands of meals to the impoverished this holiday, truly fulfilling the command  to "send portions to whoever has nothing prepared."

"Bomb Shelter Capital of the World" is a Lesson in Triumph

The Israeli city of Sderot near the Gaza Strip has an astounding 5,000 bomb shelters. But despite constant threat of rocket attacks, Israelis triumph in the face of adversity and are giving over their bomb shelters to a new purpose.

Four Species Sukkot Set

The Four Species, or "arba'a minim" in Hebrew, are four different plants native to Israel. They are used in an obligatory rite during the Festival of Tabernacles, or Sukkot, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks! The species are held together and shaken in six different directions, east, south, west, north, upward, and downward, in acknowledgment of divine dominion over nature. This year, order your Four Species directly from an Israeli farmer!

Holy Spirit Shift: Christians and Jews Reunited After 2,000 Years

Holy Spirit Shift: Christians and Jews Reunited After 2,000 Years

Note: This is the first of a two-part series on the reconnection of Jews and Gentiles in the end times.
The winds are blowing and the Holy Spirit is shifting, which we will discuss in this article. But, when it comes to the awakening and ingathering of His spiritual family, we have now had 2,000 years focused on His first-born children Israel and 2,000 years on His children from the Nations.
I would like to point out how equitable God has been with time spent on both groups. For when calling out his first-born children through the patriarchs and establishing His covenants with Israel up until the time of Yeshua/Jesus and the new covenant, there was 2,000 years. Then after His cross and resurrection, His authority in the gospel was taken out to the Nations through His Jewish apostles so the rest of His children could also be grafted into Israel's promises. Through Yeshua/Jesus, they became co-heirs as a Commonwealth of Israel, and the two became intricately linked, establishing The One New Man in the church.
Concerning the Gentile ingathering, there has also been 2,000 years, which at its beginnings was a mystery that had been hidden up until the appointed time for the rest of God's children from the Nations to come into the fold (Col. 1:26-27). But apart from the apostles and the original Jewish followers who helped to establish the church, most of Israel did not understand this mystery in God's awakening to the Gentiles because they had had God to themselves (see John 10:16). There is an interesting analogy here between then and now in how the church is awakening to Israel.
During the time of the Gentiles, the church becomes established, but then breaks away from its Jewish roots and heritage. Through the Roman Emperor Constantine and the Council of Nicaea (A.D. 325), the church became fully Romanized, establishing Christianity as a separate and distinct religion, which it has remained until this time.
In reality, however, it is Jewish and the only true path of God—for salvation is from the Jews through Yeshua/Jesus (Jeremiah 31:31-34; John 4:22), as well as all of the other covenants given to Israel that we are grafted into through Him as believers from the Nations (Romans 4:16; Galatians 3:7, 13).
While the apostles cleared the way for Gentiles to be free of the law and continuing their own associations to it (Acts 21:20-25), there a definite connectedness between Jew and Gentile remained with a Jewish heritage and flavor that was apparent during those days as they laid the foundations for the church. They witnessed everywhere the ingathering of the Gentiles and a good amount of Jews into the faith, and the miracles and power of the Holy Spirit flowed. However, with Rome's intervention, it was now as if the wild olive branch that was grafted into the vine had become the only branch and, from that point, all who wanted entry had no choice but to become like the Gentiles.
Something Significant Was Lost
When we look back into this time in history, what may have appeared to have been an amazing deal for the church in nationalizing the faith with Rome, actually created its first division and split and something hugely significant was lost. I call this The Disconnection, from which all other divisions stem from in the church and if we truly want to heal the division in the body of Messiah/Christ, this is honestly where we should start. It wasn't long thereafter that most of Christianity went into a slumber and sleep and soon after that Islam was born.
However, thankfully God was not finished with His church. Much like Yeshua/Jesus Himself, it must arise; especially in these days (see John 12:24), for G-d has been faithful to His covenants to her, just as He will be to His covenants to Israel to restore her. "For where two or three are assembled in My name, there I am in their midst" (Matthew 18:20).
In a broad stroke, beginning with the Reformation, He began the process of restoration. In the 16th century, He restored the Bible and doctrine of salvation. In the 18th century, He began to restore a desire for holiness. In the 20th century, He restored the gifts and I believe in this time He will restore the fullness of The One New Man between Jew and Gentile.
That is because an awakened Israel cannot be grafted into the wild olive branch of the vine but must be grafted back into its own branch, which was and is essentially Jewish from its beginnings. Secondly, He will prepare and unite us for a Messianic Kingdom upon the earth whose authority will go out from Israel. In this light, we not only need to make room for them to return to faith along with their own expressions, but also to bless them into it.
The Holy Spirit is Shifting
As a result, the Holy Spirit is now shifting His church into this direction and, consequently, this is a major revelation for us to grasp considering our spiritual reconnection to Israel, its re-grafting into the vine and its reconnection to us. How it will transpire and how it is all connected—and I am not talking about going back to the law, but rather for the church to fully bless their Jewish brethren into their own identity and heritage so both groups may co-exist from within the unity of The One New Man—much like they did at the beginning of the church.
That is to facilitate the process of the unbroken branch of Israel once again becoming grafted back into the vine and coming back to life. For there is a great amount of confusion and misunderstanding in our theology here and there are reasons that we should pray to God that we may be willing to face it so that the enemy maybe properly exposed and that the Holy Spirit can prepare us for this time. My second book, The Ezekiel Generation, deals thoroughly with this subject of disconnection and reconnection.
I believe that Israel piece is the final piece that ignites the rest. If we truly understood the significance of this transaction in us, and the heart of the Father for His children as we reconnect as brethren, how we would run to it with all our strength and might because our refocus on Israel and its spiritual awakening is also intricately linked to the last great outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the earth. For what does Scripture tell us—that their restoration will be akin to Resurrection power! (Romans 11:15).
This is a new time and era for the kingdom of God upon the earth. The apostle Paul referred to it, as the fullness of the Gentiles, and so it says all Israel will be saved. Please note well here how in the same sentence these two points are linked together. It is not as if as we enter into this time that God will remove His focus from either Jew or Gentile, but rather He will bring us into its fullness.
A mystery that He exhorted us not to be ignorant about, but one nevertheless that will require adjustment and change on the part of His church. For the times that both the Jew and the Gentile have had God to themselves is over and the Holy Spirit is now transitioning us into a new time of togetherness between Jew and Gentile that we must begin to recognize that will prepare us (His bride) for His coming.
During these days, the church cannot ignore Israel's spiritual awakening and its re-grafting back into its own vine, as its hardening is lifted. This is the second part of Ezekiel's prophecy after the land is restored (see Ezekiel 37:9-11). We also cannot ignore our unique role to aid the Holy Spirit in the fulfillment of God's covenants to breathe spiritual life back into them through intercession and evangelism, which is the church's divine destiny. For just as Israel was used to give life to us, through the Jewish apostles, in turn to complete the family circle that spiritual life would be released back to them from His children from the Nations through the mercy of God that they have received (Romans 11:30).
For we are His chosen vessels, Israel's salvific agent to help bring them to life, a role that we have not properly seen up until this time with fresh insights that are quite different from what we have been taught in all of our books and DVDs about the end times.

Jerusalem Lawyers Launch Citizen’s War on Anti-Semitism

Jerusalem Lawyers Launch Citizen’s War on Anti-Semitism

Wednesday, September 09, 2015 |  David Lazarus  ISRAEL TODAY
“Any place or anytime where there are anti-Semitic activities, we want to be there to fight back.” That is the battle cry of a new initiative of the Jerusalem Institute for Justice (JIJ), which is organizing an international network of lawyers ready to take legal action against all those persecuting Jews anywhere in the world.
Concerned citizens are being asked to rise up in the face of mounting threats and attacks against Jews around the globe, and to report on anti-Semitic activities as they occur through a website set up to coordinate responses.
Citizen reports can include acts of vandalism and violence, hate speech or anti-Jewish propaganda, posters or fliers being distributed, boycotts or anti-Semitic articles in newspapers or on the Internet. Once the incident is confirmed, a team of international litigators can be organized to provide real-time responses.
“We encourage any person who witnesses an anti-Semitic act, be it verbal or written, to immediately submit documentation thereof to our International Advocacy Team,” reads the website.
Michael Decker, a litigation lawyer with the JIJ, provided an example of how the initiative works during an interview Monday on national Israeli television:
“This week, a group of pro-Palestinian activists protested against Israel on a university campus in Poland. Can you believe that in Poland the crowd was chanting ‘Make soap out of the Jews’? A young student organized a counter protest in order to stop the anti-Semitic hate-speech. However, the activists called the police and started legal proceedings against the student. Incredibly, the student was fined for interfering with their anti-Semitic protest.”
Decker said that as soon as the JIJ became aware of the incident, “We contacted a local Polish lawyer who will defend the student in court. JIJ will also cover all of the legal fees connected with the case to defend the brave student.”
When asked how the organization will manage responding to the huge and growing number of anti-Semitic acts around the globe, Decker had this to say:
“JIJ can coordinate between lawyers and litigators around the world according to the specific cases that arise. We can then begin to build legal cases against the anti-Semitic individuals. Of course there will be cases that we cannot win, particularly when the courts in some countries are anti-Semitic themselves. What we can do is make sure that the incidents are reported to the local police and also raise awareness of the growing scourge of anti-Jewish activities around the world.”
Earlier this week it was reported that a Belgian police officer used social networks to express that if he could, he would "kill each and every one of those dirty Jews." Again, the moment the JIJ found out about this, “we filed a complaint against the police officer with the Belgian police department," said Decker. "We are now waiting for the legal process against him to begin.”
Decker admits that not every case reported can be brought to court. “But at least through these efforts international attention will be drawn to the growing threat of anti-Semitism around the world,” he explained.
Citizens who witness anti-Semitic activities can report them here: jij.org/report-anti-semitism
Or by email: contactus@jij.org.il

How to Prepare for the Holy Spirit's Next Move - J. Lee Grady

Holy Spirit move

Are you ready for the Holy Spirit's next move? (Vitaly Vitorsky)

How to Prepare for the Holy Spirit's Next Move

At the height of the Jesus movement in 1972, tie-dyed hippies gathered in parks and stadiums to celebrate their newfound faith in Christ. But when these young converts went home to visit traditional churches, many were rejected because they had long hair and preferred to worship using drums and guitars instead of pianos and pipe organs.
Even though these kids were full of the Holy Spirit and excited about preaching the gospel in the streets, the church turned them away—because Christians weren't ready for something new.
God desires to bring a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit in every generation. The prophet Isaiah wrote: "Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert" (Is. 43:19). Even when we are in a spiritual drought, God promises to unleash a river of His presence and power.
I am convinced we are standing on the threshold of another wave of the Spirit. But we must face these questions: Are we ready? Will we be aware? Will we embrace the next outpouring of the Spirit when it comes, or will we stick our noses in the air like the traditional denominations of the 1970s did?
If you want to be ready for all that God has for you in this new season, take these steps:
1. Rekindle the Spirit's flame in your heart. You will be ready for revival when revival stirs your own heart. You must be hungry for more of God. Ask the Lord to give you that hunger. Then begin to seek Him with passion. Set aside daily time to pray and read His Word. Ask Him to fill you afresh with the Holy Spirit.
2. Dismantle all dead religious tradition. Jesus warned the Pharisees that they would miss the day of His visitation because of their stale traditions. Many churches today are stuck in a time warp; they sing 1970s songs and enforce a 1950s dress code, so no one from 2015 feels comfortable visiting their church except the people who live in their religious bubble. You will never break out of tradition until you "sing a new song" (see Ps. 98:1; Is. 42:10) and welcome a fresh encounter with God.
3. Be willing to move geographically. The Bible says Naomi moved from Moab to Bethlehem when she heard God was visiting His people (see Ruth 1:6). If she had stayed where things were familiar and comfortable, Naomi would have missed God's best for her and her family. Before the Lord pours out His fresh anointing, He gets His people in position. Make sure you are in the place where He wants you. He may be calling you to relocate to a new city or a new church to prepare you for revival.
4. Align yourself with the right people. Abram had to separate from his nephew Lot before he could inherit all of God's blessings. Sometimes people can keep us from experiencing all that God has for us. If you are enmeshed in toxic relationships that hinder your spiritual growth, break free from their influence and find healthy mentors, friends and spiritual leaders who can encourage and equip you. Sometimes this might mean leaving an unhealthy church to find a healthy one.
5. Allow God to meddle with your sectarian pride. Christians tend to be cliquish. We find a church or denomination we are comfortable with, and then we tend to look down on all other groups as if they are inferior. We think we have the best worship style, the coolest pastors or the soundest doctrine. So if the Holy Spirit shows up at the church down the street, we are smug and suspicious—and quick to criticize what is actually God's work. Don't let pride cause you to oppose what He's doing.
6. Be open to God's surprises. When the Azusa Street revival erupted in Los Angeles in 1906, everyone was shocked when the biblical gift of speaking in tongues was restored to the church. In the charismatic revival of the 1960s, no one expected to see Presbyterians, Catholics, Methodists, Baptists and Mennonites filled with the Holy Spirit—in the same meeting!
The Holy Spirit never violates Scripture, but He loves to open up rivers of anointing to do refreshing new things we have not seen in our generation. He wants an outbreak of miracles. He wants to break racial barriers. He wants to reach immigrants—even those who are illegal. He wants to heal those who struggle with embarrassing addictions, psychological problems and gender confusion. He wants the gifts of the Holy Spirit to break out in churches that have never seen His power. Let's expect the unexpected.

Pro-Palestinian Rallies Await Israeli PM in London

Pro-Palestinian Rallies Await Israeli PM in London

JERUSALEM, Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, left for a two-day state visit to England Wednesday, where British Prime Minister David Cameron awaits them, along with pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
Demonstrations are less than what 107,000 signatories of a petition to arrest Netanyahu for alleged war crimes wanted, referring to theIDF's military incursion in the Gaza Strip last summer in response to Palestinian rocket fire and terror tunnels dug under Israel's border.
Earlier Wednesday, terrorists opened fire on an Israeli woman near the Tapuach Junction, not far from Nablus (biblical Shechem).
Miraculously, she was unhurt, though shaken up by the attack and the bullets that penetrated her car. The IDF dispatched soldiers to search for the shooter.
A few days ago, the European Union announced it was putting the finishing touches on its Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) package, the same week the SodaStream factory in Samaria gets ready to close and move to its new location in the Negev.
SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum says BDS supporters just don't get it.
"It's propaganda. It's politics. It's hate. It's anti-Semitism," Birnbaum said. "It's all the bad stuff we don't want to be part of."
Meanwhile, skies remained hazy Wednesday, following Tuesday's massive sandstorm that blanketed Israel from north to south, as well as Syria, in a thick yellow, sand-filled haze. Israeli media reported it was the most massive sandstorm in 15 years.
Environmental Protection Ministry warned people with heart or lung problems to stay indoors. Domestic flights were cancelled and many people held scarves to their faces as they walked the streets.
Sweltering temperatures that accompanied the sandstorm are expected to last through the start of Rosh Hashanah, literally "head of the year," which begins Sunday at sunset.
Meanwhile in Jerusalem, light-rail construction to outlying neighborhoods, along with school and holiday traffic, snarled city streets.
But despite boycotts, sandstorms, terror attacks, traffic jams and anti-Israel protests, there's a pervasive and undeniable optimism as Israelis prepare to celebrate the New Year. Everywhere people wish one another Shana tova u'metuka, a good and sweet New Year.

Should You Do Your Job or Obey Your Conscience?

FRANK TUREK  charisma News
Should Christians ever disobey their government? Some say no. But Kim Davis sides with Martin Luther King Jr. and thinks civil disobedience is justified. Mrs. Davis is the Rowan County Kentucky clerk who spent four days in jail for refusing to put her name on same-sex marriage licenses. Claiming to be a new Christian, Ms. Davis is also a longtime Democrat.
"The court cannot condone the willful disobedience of its lawfully issued order," Judge David Bunning told Davis last week in court. "If you give people the opportunity to choose which orders they follow, that's what potentially causes problems."
Judge Bunning is absolutely right. This is the kind of chaos that results when people do not respect the law. But I'm not referring to Kim Davis—I'm referring to the United States Supreme Court. As I've written before, and the multiple dissents state more eloquently, there is no justification in the Constitution for judicially imposing genderless marriage on every state in the union. Five unelected justices simply imposed their own law on 330 million people.
But does that justify civil disobedience? Where do you draw the line?
Certainly, there is a line somewhere. After all, we laud those behind the Underground Railroad who freed slaves and those who protected Jews in Nazi Germany. While bad marriage laws are obviously not as serious, consider a more equivalent scenario: Suppose the Supreme Court decided to drop the age of consent in every state to 12 years old (a position Ruth Bader Ginsberg supported before she became a Supreme Court Justice). Would you think that Kim Davis should be forced to endorse the marriage of a 75-year-old man who brought a 12-year-old girl into her office? I hope you can see that there is a line and it's not far from Kim Davis.
Liberals believe in civil disobedience—when it suits their causes. Despite chanting, "Do your job!" outside Kim Davis's office, liberals were rejoicing when San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom ordered clerks to violate California law and issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in 2004. They certainly were not chanting "Do your job" outside of Attorney General Eric Holder's office when he told the states last year to ignore their own laws that defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman. And liberals were not asking a federal judge to throw President Obama in jail when he refused to do his job by defending the Defense of Marriage Act in Court.
So just 10 minutes ago liberals believed that defying marriage laws was heroic! Now their blatant double standard is all too obvious—they laud civil disobedience when it's used to advance the religion of sex and denounce it when it's used to protect Christian or natural law beliefs.
But on what authority does one defy the government? One man who wanted a same-sex marriage license asked Kim Davis on "what authority" was she not issuing licenses. She cited God.
Yet the question needs to be asked of both sides. By what authority did Newsom, Holder, Obama and other liberal politicians defy the law? They certainly weren't citing God or the Creator cited in our Declaration of Independence who gives us unalienable rights. But without an authority beyond man's law, there is no authority for their actions nor is there any objective standard to ground unalienable rights. Without God, every right claim is merely a human opinion. At least Kim Davis, agree with her or not, is citing an authority beyond herself.
Civil disobedience has rich precedent in the United States. In fact, our country was founded on it largely to secure religious freedom. Civil disobedience also has precedent in the Bible. When Pharaoh ordered Hebrew midwives to murder all Hebrew boys, they disobeyed and even lied to the authorities (Ex. 1). And Daniel and his friends peacefully defied laws that contracted God's commands. Likewise, when the Jewish authorities told John and Peter to stop telling people the good news that Jesus paid for your sins and rose from the dead, they disobeyed, saying that they would obey God rather than men (Acts 4).
Therefore, the principle for Christians is this: Civil disobedience is necessary when a government compels you to sin or prevents you from doing something God commands you to do. You don't disobey the government merely because it permits others to sin—only when it compels you to do so. Kim Davis thinks that line has been crossed.
It's actually not hard to avoid crossing the line. Both parties can be accommodated as Judge Bunning finally figured out when he released Davis yesterday. In North Carolina, we passed a law to allow people like Kim Davis to opt out of endorsing relationships that violated their religious or moral beliefs. Since other government employees are more than happy to issue licenses, no one is inconvenienced or forced to violate conscience. We do this for far more serious issues than weddings. For example, even during a time of war when we draft people to defend the country, we allow for conscientious objectors to opt out. If we can allow exemptions for government employees involved in protecting the very existence of our nation, we can certainly allow exemptions for government employees involved in weddings!
Will the Kentucky legislature act when it returns in January to pass such a law? Unfortunately, I doubt the activists who are always demanding tolerance will tolerate such reasonableness. It seems that some people just can't live and let live. They will not rest until all opposition is crushed and everyone is forced to celebrate what they are doing.
If that's your position, I have a question for you: Why would you want anyone who disagrees with your wedding to have anything to do with it? Go to another clerk, another florist, another photographer. Why force people to violate their conscience when there are so many other people willing to help you and celebrate with you?  After all, isn't this supposed to be a time when "love wins?"
Apparently not. For some liberals, "love wins" as long as everyone agrees with them. Those that disagree will not like the kind of "love" some liberals dish out. Are the same people who are chanting, "Love wins," some of the same people who issued death threats to Kim Davis? It certainly wasn't the Christians.
The truth is Kim Davis and other victims of "tolerance" don't want a holy war. Davis just doesn't want her signature on the license. She suggested other government officials sign, and Judge Bunning finally agreed. But a law needs to be passed to prevent future problems.
North Carolina has led the way. It remains to be seen if liberals in Kentucky will accept that way. If their recent history is a guide, I'm afraid they will demand that every knee bow and every tongue confess the dogma of their secular religion.
