"A Tamarisk in the Desert" ✡ Plant a Tree in the Holy Land!

For he shall be like a tamarisk in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

JEREMIAH (17:6)

Today's Israel Inspiration

To illustrate the difference between trusting in God and trusting in man, Jeremiah paints a strong contrast between two vivid images. One who relies on man is compared to a small shrub in the barren and rocky desert called the tamarisk. The  Hebrew name for this plant is 'arar' (עַרְעָר), similar to the Hebrew word for childless 'areeree' (עֲרִירִי), invoking feelings of lifelessness and emptiness. Someone who relies on the Lord, however, is likened to a majestic tree with deep roots beside the ever-flowing river, growing tall and whose branches provide shelter from the heat. Israel has two choices: they could trust in God and remain secure in their Land, flourishing like the tree by the river; or cut themselves off from the Divine presence and choose to be exiled to the wilderness of the tamarisk. Now more than ever we must be stalwart in our faith in the Almighty to protect the Land of Israel and to help her flourish. Show your faith and be part of Israel's blossoming by planting a tree today.

Mentioned in I Samuel 30:9-21, Nachal Besor was the resting place for a portion of King David's army during a victorious battle against the Amalekites. The name of the river in Hebrew, "Besor," means "good tidings."

Expert That Correctly Predicted Market Moves In July, August And September Says Stocks Will Crash In November - Michael Snyder

Expert That Correctly Predicted Market Moves In July, August And September Says Stocks Will Crash In November

Posted: 21 Oct 2015  Michael Snyder
Dollars Folded - Public DomainWhen someone is right over and over and over, eventually people start paying attention.  Personally, I have learned to tune out the “forecasts” of most “economic experts” out there.  As an attorney, I was trained to be skeptical, and I have found that most forecasts about what the financial markets are going to do are not worth the paper they are printed on.  However, once in a while something comes along that really gets my attention.  Over the past few days, I have seen a number of references to the remarkable forecasts of Bo Polny of Gold 2020 Forecast.

In recent months he has correctly predicted that U.S. stocks would begin to drop in July, that there would be a huge plunge in August and that that the month of September would be rather uneventful.  Now he is saying that he expects “November to be a complete meltdown on the U.S. and world markets”.  Just because he has been right in the past does not guarantee that he will be correct this time around, but lots of people (like me) are starting to pay attention.

So how does Polny come to his conclusions?  Well, he uses something that most of us hated when we were in school – mathematics.  The following comes from the Daily Sheeple
Cyclical analyst Bo Polny of Gold 2020 Forecast utilizes advanced mathematical formulas and years of cyclical analysis to make forecasts about global stock markets. In late July he noted that U.S. stock markets had hit a top and that investors should prepare for a rapid down-move in the Dow Jones and other indexes. As we now know, that prediction has come to pass.
But while many on Wall Street panicked, Polny noted that the crash was not yet imminent and that the month of September would be relatively calm, with no major moves up or down forecast to occur. Once again, his analysis proved accurate.
I want to stress that I do not know if he will be right this time around.  When trying to forecast the future of the markets, there are thousands of moving pieces, and many of them cannot be accounted for easily.  But without a doubt the markets are perfectly primed for a major crash, so it would not surprise me in the least if he did turn out to be correct.

And as I mentioned above, Polny does have a solid track record of accuracy
*****
Bo’s model appears to have an impressive track record of accurate predictions, including the following:
  • Price of gold reaching $1900 in 2011
  • China’s stock market peak in April 2015
  • Hong Kong market peak on April 29 2015
  • U.S. stock market drop beginning in July 2015
  • Sharp drop in the stop market in August 2015
  • U.S. stock market uneventful in September 2015
*****
If Polny is right again this time, next month will be the most significant month for global financial markets since the crash of 2008.  Here is more from Z3News
*****
In an interview with Future Money Trends on October 17 2015, he made the following comments:
“Now we are expecting the next leg down on the U.S. and world markets on the dollar. What we are forecasting now is the lows of August are all going to break. They could break in the month of October yet, but we believe they will break no problem into November. We expect November to be a complete meltdown on the U.S. and world markets.”
He also posted the following statements on his website:
“If you thought the crash of August 2015 was bad; November 2015 is expected to usher in the START of the US Stock, Dollar, and Treasuries Market MELTDOWN!!!
“The end of this year ushers in the start of an Economic Meltdown that is to last years! The U.S. Dollar, Treasuries, and Stock Market bomb is set to blow in November 2015!”
*****
Polny is projecting that stocks could ultimately fall by as much as 70 percent by the time it is all said and done.  You can watch a full interview where he discusses these things right here.

Meanwhile, early signs of the kind of trouble that Polny is warning about continue to pop up.
On Wednesday, the stock price of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world absolutely crashed after a report came out claiming that it was in danger of suffering the same fate as Enron
Hedge fund darling Valeant Pharmaceuticals is getting hammered after short-selling-firm Citron Research published a report comparing it to Enron.
The Canadian drug company’s stock was last down about 25% at around $110. It had fallen as low as $88.50.
The stock has been popular among hedge funds.
It ranked No. 10 on Goldman Sachs’ stocks that “matter most” to hedge funds list for the second quarter. According to Goldman, 32 funds had the stock as one of their top-10 stock holdings.
And this week we learned that construction machinery giant Caterpillar has now reported global sales declines for 34 consecutive months.  The following comes from Zero Hedge
Most cats bounce at least once when they die, but not this one: after CAT posted its first annual drop in retail sales in December of 2012, it has failed to see a rise in retail sales even once.
In fact, since then Caterpillar has seen 34 consecutive months of declining global sales, and 11 consecutive months of double digit declines!
Those that assume that everything is going to be “just fine” now that we have gotten past September are going to be dead wrong.

Whether it happens in November or not, the kind of chaotic financial collapse that Bo Polny is warning about will happen.

And of course factors that he is unable to account for such as war, terror attacks and major natural disasters could greatly accelerate things.

Once again, I don’t know if everything that Bo Polny is saying is going to turn out to be 100% accurate or not.  I am just reporting what he is saying.  But it is true that what he is forecasting fits very well with what I have been warning my readers about for months and months.

A day of reckoning is most definitely coming for global financial markets.

Will it happen in November?

Stay tuned…

Months ago, Donald Trump's answer—or lack thereof—about his favorite Bible verse went viral.
Even Sarah Palin thought the reporter's question was unfair and meant to put the Republican front-runner in a bad light.
But when Duck Dynasty stars were asked the same question, they could easily pick through passages that inspire their lives.

Netanyahu Said What About Muslims and the Holocaust?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provoked controversy on Wednesday, hours before a visit to Germany, by saying the former Muslim elder in Jerusalem convinced Adolf Hitler to exterminate the Jews.
In a speech to the Zionist Congress late on Tuesday, Netanyahu referred to a series of attacks by Muslims against Jews in Palestine during the 1920s that he said were instigated by the then Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini.
Husseini famously flew to visit Hitler in Berlin in 1941, and Netanyahu said that meeting was instrumental in the Nazi leader's decision to launch a campaign to annihilate the Jews.
"Hitler didn't want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jews," Netanyahu said in the speech. "And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, 'If you expel them, they'll all come here.'
"'So what should I do with them?'" Netanyahu said Hitler asked the mufti, who responded: "Burn them."
Netanyahu, whose father was an eminent historian, was quickly harangued by opposition politicians and experts on the Holocaust who said he was distorting the historical record.
Palestinian officials said Netanyahu appeared to be absolving Hitler of the murder of six million Jews in order to lay the blame on Muslims. Twitter was awash with criticism.
"It is a sad day in history when the leader of the Israeli government hates his neighbor so much that he is willing to absolve the most notorious war criminal in history, Adolf Hitler, of the murder of six million Jews," Saeb Erekat, the Palestine Liberation Organisation's secretary general, said.
"Mr Netanyahu should stop using this human tragedy to score points for his political end," said Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator with the Israelis.
Even Netanyahu's defense minister, close ally Moshe Yaalon, said the prime minister had got it wrong.
"It certainly wasn't (Husseini) who invented the Final Solution," Yaalon told Israel's Army Radio. "That was the evil brainchild of Hitler himself."
It is not clear what sources Netanyahu was relying on for his comments. A 1947 book "The Mufti of Jerusalem" and a newspaper report at the time said a former Hitler deputy had testified at the Nuremberg war crimes trials that Husseini had plotted with the Nazi leader to rid Europe of its Jews.
Husseini was sought for war crimes but never appeared at the Nuremberg proceedings and later died in Cairo.
Historical Record
But the point several historians made was that Netanyahu was distorting timelines and drawing false conclusions.
The meeting between Husseini and Hitler in Berlin took place on November 28, 1941. More than two years earlier, in January 1939, Hitler had addressed the Reichstag and talked clearly about his determination to exterminate the Jewish race.
"To say that the mufti was the first to mention to Hitler the idea to kill or burn the Jews is not correct," Dina Porat, a professor at Tel Aviv University and the chief historian of Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust museum, told Israel Radio.
"The idea to rid the world of the Jews was a central theme in Hitler's ideology a long, long time before he met the mufti."
Porat and others pointed out that the murder of the Jews began in June 1941. Even if the mufti wanted the Final Solution to be expanded, he wasn't the one who came up with the idea.
"For somebody who knows something about history and grew up in the house of historian Professor Benzion Netanyahu, he should know well," Porat said of the prime minister. "But in my humble opinion, to say that the mufti gave Hitler the idea is wrong."

Is Kerry Offering Excuses for Palestinian Terrorists and Blaming Jewish Victims?

Standing With Israel

Do John Kerry (r) and Barack Obama really believe they're striving for peace? Or, are they inciting violence?

Do John Kerry (r) and Barack Obama really believe they're striving for peace? Or, are they inciting violence? (Reutes file photo )

Is Kerry Offering Excuses for Palestinian Terrorists and Blaming Jewish Victims?

Recent remarks by Secretary of State John Kerry give new meaning to the term "Foggy Bottom," a name synonymous with the location of the U.S. State Department. One might say these remarks represent seeing the peace process through foggy glasses, and a new low, or "bottom," of U.S. policy vis-a-vis Israel.
I was shocked to see the plethora of news reports and op-eds in the Jerusalem Post on Friday, October 16. The number of articles and column inches highlighting and bashing Kerry's comments was unprecedented to the best of my recollection about any one subject in one day's newspaper.
The Post's lead editorial, "Kerry and Free Will," led the barrage by quoting Kerry's incendiary remarks, "There's been a massive increase in settlements over the course of the last years and there's an increase in the violence because there's this frustration that's growing."
The editorial continued, "According to Kerry, the building of houses in Judea and Samaria inexorably leads human beings with full control of their cognitive abilities to take to the streets of Jerusalem and Ra'anana and Itamar to hack people to death. If you ask Kerry, humans, or at least Palestinians, simply react (and) are conditioned by factors considered by Kerry to be beyond their control.
"But wait a minute. Could it be that Kerry is missing something in his analysis? Perhaps Palestinians are not simply captives to external stimuli. Perhaps they have control over their actions, just like you and me. Yet they choose time and again—tragically and violently—to embrace an ideology of victimhood and death worship that views the spilling of Jewish blood as a holy duty and self-destruction in pursuit of this goal as the highest form of martyrdom."
Columnist Caroline Glick's "Kerry, Israeli Arabs and the separation delusion" challenged Kerry's statement on the facts, and noted, "Kerry and his spokesmen have alleged that the current Palestinian convulsion of murderous violence is a product of 'a massive increase in settlements.' Yet as Haaretz (Israel's left wing, pro-Arab daily) reported, Israel has built fewer homes for Jews in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria since 2009 ... than it had since 1995."
Another columnist, David Weinberg, penned "Kerry, Stay Home" regarding the possibility that he was planning a trip to Israel. In the end, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Netanyahu in Germany. He wrote, "Kerry and his boss, U.S. President Barack Obama, are responsible for shaping the broader inflammatory context that has spawned the current wave of Palestinian terrorism against Israel. He and Obama are guilty of encouraging Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in the latter's escalating campaign of brazen lies, violent confrontations and diplomatic assault against Israel.
"Kerry has been utterly silent. He has had no comment of any of these Palestinian outrages. When Prime Minister Netanyahu raised concerns about low Jewish and high Arab voter turnout on Israeli election days Obama and Kerry went bananas. They quickly and loudly blasted him (Netanyahu) as a racist. This shows the prejudicial way in which Obama and Kerry approach the Israeli-Palestinian arena."
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach wrote in "Kerry's Broken Moral Compass," that "Kerry's comments about the recent wave of terrorist attacks ... Are contemptable. This is an astonishing justification for cold-blooded murder of Israeli men, women and children. Kerry is offering excuses for the terrorists and blaming the victims with (his) malignant words. This isn't the first time he has made such outrageous comments with regards to Israel and his reasoning and logic reveal how broken his moral compass has become.
"Kerry has again expressed a disturbingly amoral perspective on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and where the blame belongs. Does he really think that settlements are the root cause of cold-blooded killers stabbing women and children? Or that building houses is what causes terrorists to drive their cars into groups of pedestrians, then exit the vehicle and begin hacking to death the injured as they struggle to crawl away?"
It gives me no pride to call out John Kerry like this. I don't mean to be seen as piling on, but his comments are so outrageous, so dangerous, they cannot be left alone. Sadly, it's hard to disagree with any of these remarks, and the twisted perspective they represent.
However, I have a different perspective, a more personal perspective, as to why Kerry is wrong.  Recently we began some renovations at my house. We hired Omar, the Palestinian Arab contractor who supervised building my house a decade ago. Omar has always been friendly, professional, and reliable. He is quick to talk with pride and affection about his five kids. We are about the same age. I have six kids.
But having Palestinian Arabs in our home working with construction tools and my kids around is cause for some stress these days. I trust Omar but don't know his workers, so I hid our kitchen knives. Neighbors are quick to remind me not to be so trusting of Omar, or any of his workers. We live in troubled times.
But when Kerry blames construction in "settlements," it's the homes for Jewish families that he is finding offensive. But nine out of 10 times, they are built by Palestinian Arabs like Omar. Not only are these not an excuse for justifying the terrorism and violence that Kerry has done. The fact is that building our homes provides a point of civil interaction between Arabs and Jews that's not only not in conflict, but provides our Arab neighbors with a good living.
And that's not just the men actually working in our house, but the carpenters, building supply distributors, and others who make a good living. If this were to stop, so would their income.
Over the years, I have hosted diplomats from the American consulate in Jerusalem. Each year, there's someone else in charge of visiting, digesting data, and reporting on life on the ground in Israeli communities like mine, over the "green line." What they call "settlements." Its inefficient to me that by the time a young diplomat just begins to understand the situation, a new person is appointed to replace the old one, as if there were a one year expiration date stamped on their side like a box of breakfast cereal.
I have shared the same assessment with each one. It is the polar opposite from the view that Secretary Kerry has presented. Perhaps the memos from low-level U.S. diplomats with my opinions never made it to Washington. Perhaps they got misplaced. Perhaps this is a case of being in the fog and looking at the trees.
Either way, Kerry is wrong. Dead wrong. And expressing these views not only doesn't prevent death and violence, it encourages it.

We've Become Like Sodom and Gomorrah, Laments Israeli Judge - Aviel Schneider

We've Become Like Sodom and Gomorrah, Laments Israeli Judge

Thursday, October 22, 2015 |  Aviel Schneider  ISRAEL TODAY
The daily stabbings in Israel have had a serious impact on the local population. Everywhere, fear is palpable. People are afraid of being stabbed from behind or run over at the bus stop. In Jerusalem, every young Arab or covered Arab woman is seen as a potential threat.
Yes, Israelis are on edge. But that didn’t stop Israelis from doing some shock-induced soul searching after a young man from Eritrea (pictured) was mistakenly identified as a terrorist and lynched by an angry mob.
“This is strictly forbidden,” admonished Rabbi Ratzon Arussi, chief rabbi of the Tel Aviv suburb of Kiryat Ono. “This is not the way of the Torah. Even if our enemy behaves worse than an animal and is himself already dead, we are obligated to honor his body, for he was created in the image of God.”
Israel’s media has been full of heated debate over the Beersheva lynch. “Only because of his skin color,” screamed a front page headline in Yediot Ahronot.
Israeli politicians have been lamenting video footage of the incident.
“It’s just awful what is happening,” said opposition leader Isaac Herzog. “We must be careful not to allow the fear, anger and frustration that these terrorist attacks create to break our soul.”
Ofer Shelah of the centrist Yesh Atid party said he was deeply ashamed by the behavior of those caught on film attacking the innocent African, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to bring to justice all those involved.
In a related case, Tel Aviv district judge Shamai Becker ordered the police to hunt down an Israeli caught on video kicking the head of a suspected female Palestinian terrorist who had already been subdued. “We have become just like Sodom and Gomorrah,” said the judge. “Even if it were a terrorist, it is unacceptable for Israelis to kick that person in the head when she is no longer a threat.”
The Palestinian girl in question had indeed assaulted someone, but was later determined to be mentally ill and not an armed terrorist.
On local WhatsApp groups videos have been shared showing enraged Israelis at the scenes of very real attacks either cursing or beating terrorists who had already been neutralized. The videos also show an overwhelmed police force doing its best to keep the angry crowd away from the subdued or dead terrorists.
The panic and anger currently bubbling up in so many Israelis becomes evident in such situations. But such reactions are rejected and condemned by the majority of Israelis, as is evident in local media coverage in the past several days.
