While most of the country has been focused on the inauguration of Donald Trump, a very real crisis has been brewing behind the scenes. Foreigners are dumping U.S. debt at a faster rate than we have ever seen before, and U.S. Treasury yields have been rising. This is potentially a massive problem, because our entire debt-fueled standard of living is dependent on foreigners lending us gigantic mountains of money at ultra-low interest rates.
If the average rate of interest on U.S. government debt just got back to 5 percent, which would still be below the long-term average, we would be paying out about a trillion dollars a year just in interest on the national debt. If foreigners keep dumping our debt and if Treasury yields keep climbing, a major financial implosion of historic proportions is absolutely guaranteed within the next four years.
One of the most significant aspects of the “Obama legacy” is the appalling mountain of debt that he has left behind. As I write this article, the U.S. national debt is sitting at 19.944 trillion dollars. During Obama’s eight years, a staggering 9.3 trillion dollars was added to the national debt. When you break that number down, it comes to more than a hundred million dollars every single hour of every single day while Obama was living in the White House. In just two terms, Obama added almost as much to the national debt as all of the other presidents before him combined.
What Obama and the members of Congress that cooperated with him have done to future generations of Americans is beyond criminal.
Unfortunately, hardly anyone is talking about this right now, but the consequences are about to start catching up with us in a major way.
The only possible way that our game of “borrow, spend and stick future generations with the bill” can continue is if the rest of the world participates. In other words, we need them to continue to buy our debt.
Unfortunately for us, a major shift is now taking place. According to Zero Hedge, the most recent numbers that we have show foreigners dumping more than 400 million dollars of U.S. debt over the past 12 months…
The wholesale liquidation of US Treasuries continued in November, when according to the just released TIC data, foreign central banks sold another $936 million in US paper in November 2016, which due to an offset of $892 million in buying one year ago, means that for the 12 month period ended November, foreign central banks have now sold a new all time high of $405 million in the past 12 months, up from a record $403 million in LTM sales as of one month ago.
This isn’t a catastrophic emergency just yet, but if we continue down this road we will eventually get there. The only way that the U.S. government can continue on with business as usual is if it can continue to borrow billions upon billions of dollars at ultra-low interest rates. Now that Treasury yields are rising, some people are beginning to get quite nervous…
As we pointed out one month ago, what has become increasingly obvious is that both foreign central banks, sovereign wealth funds, reserve managers, and virtually every other official institution in possession of US paper, is liquidating their holdings at a disturbing pace, something which in light of the recent surge in yields to over 2 year highs, appears to have been a prudent move.
In some cases, like China, this is to offset devaluation pressure; in others such as Saudi Arabia and other petroleum exporting nations, it is to provide the funds needed to offset the drop in the petrodollar, and to backstop the country’s soaring budget deficit. In all cases, it may suggest concerns about a spike in future debt issuance by the US, especially now under the pro-fiscal stimulus Trump administration.
Someday historians are going to look back in horror at what took place during the Obama years.
In a previous article, I explained that government debt greatly stimulates the economy. If we had not borrowed and spent 9.3 trillion dollars over the past eight years, we would be in the worst economic depression in U.S. history right now.
But most people don’t understand this. They don’t get the fact that we are living way, way above our means. And they also don’t get the fact that the only way that Donald Trump can keep the party going is to borrow and spend just like Obama was doing.
And even with all of Obama’s recklessness, he was still the only president in all of U.S. history not to have a single year when U.S. GDP grew by at least three percent. The following comes from the Hill…
Despite the trillions of dollars in government spending pumped into the economy every year under Obama, America has never once enjoyed an annual GDP growth rate at 3 percent or higher, making Obama the least successful president—at least when it comes to economics—in modern history.
A historically sluggish GDP isn’t the only concern worth mentioning. Under Obama’s tenure, average annual food stamp enrollment has risen by more than 15 million (compared to 2008). The home ownership rate is the lowest it has been since 1995, the earliest year provided in the U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent report. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports more than 590,000 Americans say they are not in the labor force because they are discouraged, a figure that’s 26 percent higher than even the worst annual average under George W. Bush. Additionally, the employment-population ratio has been continuously below the 60-percent threshold under Obama; the last time it was this low was 1985.
Now that Donald Trump is president, he is going to have some very hard choices in front of him.
If Donald Trump and the Republicans stop borrowing and spending so much money, the economy will immediately start suffering.
But if they do continue down the same path that Obama put us on, it is a recipe for national suicide.
So either we take our medicine now, or we risk completely destroying the bright future that our children and grandchildren were supposed to enjoy.

When I step into cities or nations, the Lord often almost immediately speaks to my heart about what He thinks and feels. Last week, I traveled to our nation's capital to speak at the convocation for POTUS Shield, a council of prophets and other spiritual leaders—including Cindy Jacobs, Rick Joyner, Lou Engle and Lance Wallnau—assembling to raise up a spiritual shield in Washington, D.C. Visionary Frank Amedia, who prophesied Trump's election to president in July 2015, launched the project.
As I sat in the cab passing by the Washington Monument, the Lord began speaking to my heart about this epic city:
Washington, oh Washington, I am doing a work in you. I am working to restore the foundations and return you to your former glory. I am rooting out corruption, and I am calling you back to the integrity that once marked you. I am calling for truth and righteousness. I am calling you back to your roots by rooting out that which has defiled you. I am doing this little by little, but I am doing it. I am raising up Nehemiahs who will repair the breaches and I am raising up Daniels who will interpret the signs. I am raising up those who know My heart and My will for the nation to speak into the heart of America. I am raising them up to expose, to root out, to rebuild and to restore. I am raising them up.
This is encouraging. The corruption in our government goes back decades. Many still ponder a conspiracy behind the murders of John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert. Watergate is yet a distant memory. More recently, Hillary Clinton's Benghazi issues and email scandal have made headlines.
What we need to keep in mind is it's no one man or woman can correct the issues in Washington or the nation. But God does set in place authorities and can work through anyone. POTUS Shield is a strategic movement in this time and season because I believe the Lord has summoned us to intercession, prayers, declarations and decrees of the word of the Lord over our nation and our government.
I believe we can see, as Cindy prophesied, the tables turn in America if the prophetic voice is allowed to permeate the White House and the saints press into intercession to see God's will be done and His kingdom come in America. I believe we're on the precipice of a Third Great Awakening the Lord spoke to my heart about in April 2007.
I believe this because I believe in God's mercy and I believe 2 Chronicles 7:14 is true: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
The four living creatures holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people (Rev. 5:8) will eventually tip over. And I am determined to keep praying until they overflow. Will you join me?

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence's inauguration set a record for the most prayers to God given.
But in his inaugural address, Trump didn't shy away from talking about God, the Bible, and Christian principles of self-governance. If you missed it, you can watch it in the video clip above, or read the full transcript below.
As prepared for delivery:
Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans, and people of the world: thank you.
We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore its promise for all of our people.
Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come.
We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done.
Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent.
Today's ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today we are not merely transferring power from one Administration to another, or from one party to another – but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People.
For too long, a small group in our nation's Capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.
Washington flourished – but the people did not share in its wealth.
Politicians prospered – but the jobs left, and the factories closed.
The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.
Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation's Capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.
That all changes – starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you.
It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America.
This is your day. This is your celebration.
And this, the United States of America, is your country.
What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.
January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.
The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.
Everyone is listening to you now.
You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement the likes of which the world has never seen before.
At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction: that a nation exists to serve its citizens.
Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves.
These are the just and reasonable demands of a righteous public.
But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge; and the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.
This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.
We are one nation – and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams; and their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny.
The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.
For many decades, we've enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry;
Subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military;
We've defended other nation's borders while refusing to defend our own;
And spent trillions of dollars overseas while America's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay.
We've made other countries rich while the wealth, strength, and confidence of our country has disappeared over the horizon.
One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions upon millions of American workers left behind.
The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed across the entire world.
But that is the past. And now we are looking only to the future.
We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power.
From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land.
From this moment on, it's going to be America First.
Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families.
We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.
I will fight for you with every breath in my body – and I will never, ever let you down.
America will start winning again, winning like never before.
We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams.
We will build new roads, and highways, and bridges, and airports, and tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation.
We will get our people off of welfare and back to work – rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor.
We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and Hire American.
We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world – but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.
We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to follow.
We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones – and unite the civilized world against Radical Islamic Terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth.
At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other.
When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.
The Bible tells us, "how good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity."
We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.
When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.
There should be no fear – we are protected, and we will always be protected.
We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement and, most importantly, we are protected by God.
Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger.
In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving.
We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action – constantly complaining but never doing anything about it.
The time for empty talk is over.
Now arrives the hour of action.
Do not let anyone tell you it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America.
We will not fail. Our country will thrive and prosper again.
We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the Earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow.
A new national pride will stir our souls, lift our sights, and heal our divisions.
It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget: that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots, we all enjoy the same glorious freedoms, and we all salute the same great American Flag.
And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the windswept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they fill their heart with the same dreams, and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty Creator.
So to all Americans, in every city near and far, small and large, from mountain to mountain, and from ocean to ocean, hear these words:
You will never be ignored again.
Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams, will define our American destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.
Together, We Will Make America Strong Again.
We Will Make America Wealthy Again.
We Will Make America Proud Again.
We Will Make America Safe Again.

Following my claim (in my last posting) that the Paris ‘peace conference’ was an answer to prayer, confirmation has come from the report of a small European coalition of fervent intercessors who have proved that the God of Israel is still in charge of world events!
When last month’s UN Security Council vote effectively delegitimized much of Israel, there was grave concern that the Paris summit involving 70 nations would ‘stick the knife in’ – diplomatically-speaking – with further harsh measures in a bid to impose a settlement on the protagonists despite their absence from the meeting.
But the communiqué issued afterwards said little more than what has become standard fare for the past several decades, insisting that the two sides step up their efforts to achieve peace on the basis of a ‘two-state solution’.
Particularly notable was the fact that Britain, who had shamefully voted for the UN resolution, had a change of heart – not only by failing to send its Foreign Secretary to the convocation, but by refusing to sign the motion, believing it would only harden attitudes.
This could well have been linked in part to journalist Melanie Phillips’ open letter to Prime Minister Theresa May accusing the British Government of anti-Semitism in its betrayal of Israel.
But among others who clearly played a part in thus weakening the international threat against the Jews was British author, speaker and veteran Israel supporter Fred Wright who, with a small team of theological students from Holland, Germany and Poland, travelled to the French capital and prayed throughout the conference for God to step in.
“Wow, wow and wow again,” he enthused. “We went in faith against overwhelming odds by sight – and the Lord came through for his land and people!”
Fred said it was something of an untested experience for him, and he had met none of the 13 students before. “It was a bit random on getting updates as to how the conference was proceeding, but we were there and believed that our prayers would be sufficient. As the meeting dragged on, we made a decision to stay until it was over – we didn’t think we could leave until we had the result. It meant we were in danger of missing our flights, but it turned out that it would have happened anyway due to the combination of weather conditions and a traffic accident en route to the airport. However, overnight accommodation and the extra expense of booking new flights at short notice left some of us in financial difficulties. A few of us were even prepared to fly on to New York, if necessary, to help bring this business to an end. But we just had to trust the Lord, and this was one of the most magnificent breakthroughs I have seen for many years.
“We had even symbolically declared the Lord’s triumph at the Arc de Triomphe!”
A prolific author and historian, with works including Father, Forgive Us (Olive Press and Monarch Books), Fred also strives to support Jews from Eastern Europe and elsewhere to make aliyah (immigrate to Israel) in fulfillment of many ancient prophecies about restoration to the land.
Jeremiah 33.3 is sometimes referred to as ‘God’s telephone number’ – 333 – because the verse says: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” And the context is the promise of restoration for God’s beleaguered people – at the time under the cosh of the Babylonians.
The simple truth is that, though not perfect by any means, they are His chosen ones and he is on their side!

As expected, one of US President Donald Trump’s first calls after taking office was to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The two leaders spoke on Sunday about Trump’s intention to break with Obama Administration policy by offering unwavering and unprecedented support to Israel.
That support, said Trump, will include facing down Iran together and advancing peace with the Palestinians in a way that protects Israel’s national interests.
The call ended with Trump inviting Netanyahu to Washington next month.
Two days earlier, the US Justice Department cleared the way for Trump to appoint his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as the White House’s new senior adviser on the Israel-Arab peace process.
Kusher, who is Jewish, is married to Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, who is herself expected to play a major role in her father’s administration.
The Kushner family has in the past donated large sums of money to the Jewish settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria.
In related news, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Monday told Army Radio that he has already had initial conversations with senior US officials about moving the American embassy back to the Israeli capital.
Trump has repeatedly vowed to finally comply with a 1995 congressional act demanding the US Embassy be returned to Jerusalem.
