Today's Israel Inspiration

Hashem has many titles in the Bible, one of which is go-aylredeemer. There is no greater redemption story in modern history than the redemption of European Jewry following WWII. The Jews in Europe suffered unimaginable atrocities during the Holocaust in which countless Jewish communities were decimated. Miraculously, the State of Israel was rebirthed just three short years after the Holocaust. The return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel after thousands of years in exile and perpetual persecution is an unprecedented redemption. Join Israel365 for a deeply meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime experience as we journey from Poland to Israel and witness the redemption of the Jewish people. Stand with the Jewish people in celebration of redemption and 70 years of prophecy fulfilled.

Just wanted to share how absolutely moved, blessed, and touched, I am by the level of commitment, passion, and heart, all of you at Israel365 have. Over and over my heart is moved by the thoughtfulness and effort put into your ministry, outreach, and general education, into just what makes Israel and HIS word soo beautiful! Form the perspective of an adopted child, who grew up in a basic Christian home, only to later discover that I was in fact Jewish, and from there sprung a powerful desire to rediscover this God of Avraham, Yitzhak, and Yaakov. In short order, I would learn to read, write, and speak hebrew, soully for the purpose of knowing this great great Father. It has totally moved my world and life! Over and over I'm touched to the point of tears by the level of heart outreach etc, that all of you at ISRAEL365 are doing! Bless you Bless you Bless you! שלום y'all.

The Rules of the Peace Process Just Changed - Ryan Jones ISRAEL TODAY

The Rules of the Peace Process Just Changed

Sunday, December 10, 2017 |  Ryan Jones  ISRAEL TODAY
"The Palestinians need to know: the rules of the game have changed. The ship changed direction. I recommend that they not test Israel's patience with their terror threats."
That was the reaction of Israel Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked to US President Donald Trump's declaration recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
For decades, the Middle East peace process has operated on the formula of pressuring Israel for concessions in hopes of moderating the Palestinians. The thinking was that if Israel would just offer enough, the Palestinians might honor their own commitments.
On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, Trump officially declared that formula had failed.
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas wasn't entirely wrong in declaring that Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital had killed the peace process.
The peace process as we've known it for the past 23 years did die last week. Or, at least, the way it's been implemented thus far died.
The rules of the game until this point have revolved around putting pressure on Israel to meet Arab demands. Those rules have produced nothing but more tension, division and conflict. The news rules, as Trump presented them, appear to revolve around acknowledging historical truth and accepting present reality, and insisting that the Arabs do the same as a baseline for negotiations.

Jerusalem & Friends - O Little Town of Bethlehem. Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Jerusalem & Friends
-          O Little Town of Bethlehem

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting." (Micah 5:2, NKJV)

A short six miles south of Jerusalem in Israel is the town of Bethlehem, or Beit Lechem (House of Bread) as it is properly named in Hebrew. Once a small Jewish town centuries ago, it has now been deemed a town primarily for a majority population of Palestinian Muslims. I have been there several times – first in 1994, before Palestinian rule took over in 1995, and lastly in 2017.

A lot had changed in those decades, and as a result, it isn’t what it once was. The vast majority of Jews and Christians have been forced to leave their once thriving homes in this part of Judea, as the now so-called “West Bank” territorial population rulers do not have the toleration level for others, which is found elsewhere in Israel under the full Jewish government. Let the truth be known.

There no more remain the family shops which once produced the popular olive wood figurines and the like for the vast amount of tourists who used to “flock here” from their international homes. Oh, they still come in numbers, but only under heavy security and other safety precautions that must be taken. After I drove my rented car through Beit Lechem in May, 2017, a Jerusalemite afterward told me that the auto insurance I had would not have covered any damage if it had gotten stoned within the city limits. (If I ever return there by car, I will keep that in mind.)

The Church of the Nativity still stands over the most probable place where the Lord, Messiah Yeshua, chose to come as man in the flesh, to fulfill the first of a multitude of prophetic Scripture, long ago prophesied. This is where Jesus’ birth on earth took place. The Jewish prophet Micah had written of it centuries prior. Though it isn’t the same peaceful abode it was back then, when shepherds watched their flocks at night in the hills surrounding, nonetheless, it still remains as a witness to the world that the Savior has come.

In my last visit to Bethlehem, by myself in that rented auto, I took great liberty to mingle among those tourists from India, China, Korea, Europe and the Americas who walked within the large church structure, built over what is believed to be the exact location of Yeshua’s birth. When in your mind you peel away the man-made brick and mortar that covers the simple spot beneath the floors, you realize that in His first coming the Savior of the world came quietly and without fanfare. Those looking for Him would soon enough realize His desire to first come as the Lamb, before His soon coming return as the Lion.

For my Catholic friends, of which traditions I grew up with, the Mass taking place over the church marked spot, though spoken by the Orthodox priest in another language which I knew not, still carried love and respect for this historical site and the Person whom these call upon. I pray they know Him as their Lord and Savior, the Living God of Israel, and not as one from a story taught from religious traditions, stripped of His true Glory. (Photo by Steve Martin: May 2017 Church of the Nativity, Catholic  Mass being said over the believed location of Yeshua's birth.)

To me, it is not so much the exact time when the Savior came during the calendar year, but the fact that He has come. Believing in Jesus’ birth, His very real life on earth, sacrificial death upon the cross and manifested bodily resurrection, all in fulfillment of Torah and Scriptural written prophesy is what matters the most. Those who know Him as Lord will reign with Him once His glorious return back to Jerusalem occurs. I so look forward to that and rest my hopes upon Him.

“O come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel.”

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem – With such high stakes, Christians need to engage in thoughtful, respectful conversations

New post on Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem – With such high stakes, Christians need to engage in thoughtful, respectful conversations with Israelis, Arabs and each other about how to find true and lasting peace. [My new op-ed for Fox News.]

by joelcrosenberg
(Washington, D.C.) -- Today, FoxNews.com published a new column of mine. While I wouldn't have written the headline quite the way they did, I am grateful they allowed me to lay out my thoughts in an op-ed significantly longer than they usually run.
AFTER TRUMP RECOGNIZES JERUSALEM AS ISRAEL'S CAPITAL, EVANGELICALS WORK FOR PEACE BETWEEN JEWS & ARABS
By Joel C. Rosenberg, December 9, 2017
Many evangelical Christians are rejoicing over President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to begin planning to move the U.S. Embassy there from Tel Aviv.
However, other evangelicals who love Israel and believe Jerusalem is the biblical and historic capital of the Jewish State see the timing of the president’s decision as a mistake. They are concerned the move will cause more tension and violence, not create conditions more conducive to peace.
Most Palestinian and other Arab Christians in Jordan, Egypt and elsewhere are also opposed to the decision for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they worry renewed violence could be directed at them and their children.
As a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, an evangelical and a resident of Jerusalem with my wife and kids, these issues are not just theological or theoretical for me. They’re personal.
I love Jerusalem. And because I love Jesus, I love both Israelis and Palestinians dearly and equally because I believe God does. The last thing I want to see is more division, violence, terror or injustice of any kind.
I long to see peace between the two sides. I pray and work for the day when both peoples can truly live side by side, and among each other, in safety, security, freedom and prosperity.
I long to see peace between the two sides. I pray and work for the day when both peoples can truly live side by side, and among each other, in safety, security, freedom and prosperity.
Toward that end, on Monday at the National Press Club in Washington, I helped launch a new organization called the “Alliance For The Peace of Jerusalem.”
We are a group of evangelicals scholars, pastors, authors and ministry leaders who believe that now more than ever, the Church needs to be faithful to the Psalmist’s command to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6) as well as to “seek peace and pursue it” (Psalm 34:14).
We also believe evangelicals need to be faithful ambassadors of God’s love and compassion to both Jews and Arabs, who find themselves trapped in a cycle of seemingly never-ending conflict. And we believe evangelicals need to be ambassadors of grace toward Christian brothers and sisters who have different (and deeply held) views of how best to achieve peace.
As we approach the 70th anniversary of the rebirth of the State of Israel on May 14, tensions between Israelis and Palestinians will no doubt increase.
For some, this will be a year of thanksgiving to the God of Israel who made ancient promises to the Jewish people and is keeping those promises in modern times. For others, however, the anniversary of the creation of modern-day Israel will be a year of pain, even anger. They call it al Nakba – the Arabic term for “The Catastrophe.”
Presidents and prime ministers, kings and their counselors, have been confounded for decades on how to achieve peace between Israel and its neighbors. It should not be a surprise that pastors, priests and lay leaders are often confounded by how to apply biblical principles to most effectively resolve a conflict with roots going back thousands of years.
The last thing the Church needs is to engage in a snarky political firefight over some of the most contentious issues on the planet. Rather, we need to engage in thoughtful, respectful conversations on what the Bible teaches about Israel and its neighbors, and how we can play a more constructive role as peacemakers.
As the Alliance begins our work, we conducted a comprehensive survey of the attitudes of American evangelicals toward Israel, the Palestinians and the peace process as we enter this historic year. The results were fascinating. Let me draw out three key points.
First, American evangelicals have a remarkably deep love for Israel and the Jewish people.
Our survey confirms that the people of Israel have no better friends in the U.S. than evangelical Christians.
  • Eight in ten evangelicals believe that the Abrahamic Covenant was an unconditional promise God made to the Jewish people for all time – a mere 5 percent disagree.
  • Eight in ten believe the rebirth of the State of Israel was the fulfillment of Bible prophecy – only 20 percent think it was merely an interesting geopolitical event.
  • And nearly eight in ten (76 percent) believe that Christians should support the Jewish people’s right to live in the sovereign State of Israel.
The survey makes clear that evangelical Christians of all ages, ethnicities, incomes and regions of the country overwhelmingly believe that God has made binding promises to Abraham and his descendants: to make them a nation; to give them a land; and to make them a blessing to the rest of the world.
The survey also finds that evangelicals believe that God is in the process of keeping his promises – that he is graciously bringing the Jewish people back to the Land of Israel after 2,000 years of exile, and rebuilding the State of Israel in the heart of the Middle East against all odds.
Second, American evangelicals want to obey Jesus’ command to love Israel’s neighbors.
  • 59 percent believe Christians should do more to love and care for the Palestinian people, and 66 percent of younger evangelicals believe this.
  • 73 percent are concerned for the safety of Christians in areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
  • 41 percent agree with the statement: “Jewish people have a biblical right to the land of Israel, but also have a responsibility to share the land with Palestinian Arabs.” Another 28 percent disagree, while 31 percent say they’re not sure.
Too often, we hear an “either/or” tone when Christian leaders speak about their love for Israel or the Palestinians. But the God of the Bible is not “either/or.” He is “both/and.” He loves Jews and He loves Arabs. So must the Church.
Third, evangelicals aren’t convinced they understand enough about God’s plans for Israel.
In fact, 72 percent of evangelicals say they want to know more about what the Bible teaches about Israel’s future.
So that’s the good news. But there is some challenging news in the data as well, specifically when it comes to younger evangelicals.
Millennials are sending the Church a sobering message. They’re not against Israel. But the survey makes it clear that many of them really don’t understand Israel’s place in the biblical narrative. Thus, their support for Israel is nearly 20 points less than the support voiced by their parents and grandparents.
Extrapolate that going forward. Unless the Church gives younger believers an understanding of God’s love and plan for Israel, evangelical support for the Jewish State could plummet over the next decade as millennials represent an ever-larger percentage of the Church body.
The raging controversy over President Trump’s decision on Jerusalem – and evangelicals’ conflicted views over how best to advocate peace – underscore the need for the new group Alliance for the Peace of Jerusalem.
As we head into the new year, we need educate the Church – particularly millennials – about God’s love and plan for both Israel and its Arab neighbors, and to mobilize them to both pray for and seek peace in a dark and troubled region.

Prophetic Word: Prophetic Clarity Will Carry You Through This Season

ANA WERNER  CHARISMA NEWS
Clarity of Focus Will Carry You Through
We can look at Nehemiah in the Bible as a groundbreaker. In his time, he was a person whom the Lord placed strategically to bring reformation and restoration as well as to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. What Nehemiah carried should be an eye-opener to us prophetic ones, as we are entering into a season of rebuilding, reassignment and swift change. Our prophetic ears and eyes should shift towards Nehemiah as an example and illustration of how we can navigate this season in which we live. We are: contending and begging the Lord for the rebuilding, asking for favor to carry out our assignment and overcoming immense discouragement. Nehemiah kept a clear focus on the goal of rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem, even in the face of great adversity.
Your Prophetic Promises Have an Adversary
Once Nehemiah and his cohort had successfully rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem, the enemies of the Israelites rose up. It's a prophetic picture of opposition that we cannot overlook. As we cross the threshold of the prophetic promises God has placed over our lives in this season, often that advancement will irritate the enemy and cause him to try and strike back. How do we push through the enemy's traps and assaults, to walk fully into our promise from God?
Clarity of Focus
Setting a perfect trap to entice Nehemiah and pull him away from finishing the reconstruction, the Israelites' enemies rose up intending to harm him. "Come, let us meet together at Chephirim in the plain of Ono," they said to Nehemiah. (Neh. 6:2, NASB). Receiving prophetic revelation from the Lord–"they are planning to harm me" (Neh. 6:2)—Nehemiah sends a message back to them. "I am doing a great work and cannot come down" (Neh. 6:3). I believe this is a key mindset for us in this hour!  Nehemiah tuned into what God was saying, and tuned out the adversarial voices.
Clear Focus Will Carry You Through the Testing
Just recently, Holy Spirit woke me up at 4:30 in the morning to speak to me. I love Holy Spirit wake up calls! Through a profound encounter with the Lord, I heard the phrase, "Clarity of focus will carry you in this season."
The following questions were then presented to me by the Lord. "Who are you listening to right now? Is My voice the loudest?" I heard Him ask.
Let us not forget that as Jesus was just baptized and received the blessing and public honor from His Father, He was then led into the desert for a season of testing. Before He would begin to minister, deliver His first sermon and perform His first miracle, there was a time of testing from the enemy.
The devil met Him there in the desert and tempted Him when Jesus was weak from fasting. In our weakened state, the enemy tries to hit us and get us off course from reaching the promises of God for our lives.
What sustained Jesus and helped Him fight off the enemy was the Word of God!  "It is written ..." Jesus quotes Scripture back at the enemy's attacks, and the enemy loses his grip and has to try something else. We cannot overlook this. The power of the written Word of God breaks the enemy's grip and causes him to back away from us.
So when the Lord said to me, "Who are you listening to right now?" and "Is My voice the loudest?"  I felt pressed to get more of the Word of God in me during this season. It's a key to unlocking the promises over our lives.
Refocus, Find Direction and Step Into Your Assignment
"Where are you going right now? What is the assignment I gave you for this season? Refocus and find your direction," I heard the Lord say next.
"Refocus and finish well" was the challenge presented to me that day. What has the Lord assigned to you? Often, as we wait for a promise to come, discouragement steps in and tries to get us distracted and off course. When Nehemiah was so close to finishing the construction of the wall, distraction tried to pull him away. His response is awesome: "I can't come meet you right now. I have to finish what God has given me to do!"
Nehemiah recognized that it was the plan of the enemy to set him off course and also do him harm. When you are close to finishing or walking into the promises of God of your life, do not get distracted by the small assaults of the enemy. Claim this same tenacious spirit that Nehemiah carried, and keep your focus clear.
Lastly, I heard the Lord say "Declare it and declare it again."
Even when we can't see the answers to our prayers, let us pick up our faith and believe that God is a God of the impossible. He is moving, whether we can see it or not. Our prayers move the heart of God.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen" (Eph. 3:20-21).
