Palestinians Try to Lynch Israeli Soldiers Who Accidentally Entered PA Town - Israel Today

Palestinians Try to Lynch Israeli Soldiers Who Accidentally Entered PA Town

Tuesday, February 13, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
Two Israeli soldiers, a male and female, accidentally drove into the Palestinian town of Jenin in northern Samaria on Monday.
They nearly paid for the mistake with their lives.
Just minutes after the marked IDF vehicle entered Jenin, it was surrounded by an angry and violent mob.
The Palestinian rioters smashed the truck's windows with stones and attempted to pull the female soldier out of the vehicle. Failing that, they took her unloaded M16 assault rifle.
Fortunately for the terrified pair, Palestinian Authority police officers quickly arrived at the scene and escorted the Israelis out of town and to the nearest IDF installation.
Palestinian security also later recovered the stolen M16 and returned it to the IDF.
Both soldiers suffered light injuries. Photos of the female soldier with a bloodied face were featured on Tuesday's front pages, infuriating most Israelis.
Writing in Israel's best-selling daily newspaper, Yediot Ahronot, columnist Shlomo Pyutrekovsky accused the government of responding too weakly to such incidents, and thereby putting the lives of our young soldiers at even greater risk. He wrote:
"The Jenin rioters who attacked the soldiers are not afraid of what will happen to them. They don’t really think someone will knock on their door in a day or two and haul them in front of a judge. The IDF is no longer scary and these soldiers paid the price."

Five Christian Athletes On Team USA To Watch In The 2018 Winter Olympics

Feb 12, 2018 by Alyssa Duvall  Hello Christian

As the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea continue, Team USA has no shortage of Christian athletes using the event for God's glory. Here are our top five Christian Olympians to watch:

Kelly Clark

Professional snowboarder Kelly Clark is a veteran Olympian bronze- and gold medalist who identifies herself as a "lover of coffee, god and good times." Clark shared with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in a January interview that she gave her life to Christ in 2004: "My ministry, and what God is doing in my life, is really found in my career in the marketplace."

"I'm in an industry where it's very foreign and it's very counter-cultural," she continued. "I get to love these people really well who would never step foot in a church."

Elana Meyers Taylor

Bronze and silver medalist bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor is an athlete who believes she isn't just representing her country at the Olympics, but "Christ and what He's done through me."

"I have a responsibility to show His love and show others what He's done for me. It's also freed me up," she said in an interview with Christian Sports Journal published in November 2016. "We're talking about the Olympics. We're talking about trying to win the gold medal. All of these things can be overwhelming."

"But regardless of whether I win a gold medal or never compete again," she continued, "I just have to trust that God has a plan for my life and I'm called to be His representative through the sport and outside of the sport."

Nic Taylor

Elana Meyers Taylor's husband, Nic Taylor, is also an Olympic bobsledder and a devout Christian. In fact, the couple met at a bible study. Nic came to know Christ in 2005 when he survived three separate car accidents. "It shouldn't have taken three, but it took three for me to realize I'm not in control of my life," Nic shared with FCA. "There's nothing I could have done to have walked away from three completely totaled cars. It was all God's doing. He had been there with me the entire time."

David Wise

David Wise, who identifies himself as a "Truth follower" on his Twitter profile, made history in 2014 as the first-ever Olympic champion in Men's Skiing Halfpipe at the Sochi, Russia winter games.

Wise explained in a 2014 interview that faith plays a "huge role" in his work. "I don't have to worry about what's happening or the outside influences as much because I feel like I can trust God, and He's going to see me through," Wise said, reported by CBN. "I can look back on my path and realize that God had a pretty significant part in taking care of me. It takes the pressure off and I can enjoy it."

Maame Biney

Short track speed-skater Maame Biney first started skating when she was 6 and qualified for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics before she turned 18.

On her Instagram profile, Biney explains that the "smile on my face doesn't mean my life is perfect. It means I appreciate what I have and what God has blessed me with."

After her qualifying win in Utah last December, Biney thanked God first.

"I am so sure that none of this would have happened if it wasn't for him," she wrote. "If God hadn't given my dad the strength to wake up, and take me to practice, I wouldn't be here today. I also want to thank God for giving me the passion to do this."

WHY GUATEMALA SAID "YES"
TO JERUSALEM

0218 - Guatemala - pastors

By Shira Sorko-Ram
As featured in the February Maoz Israel Report

Guatemala is a little paradise where the weather is always pleasant and the larger cities lie in charming mountain ranges. If that were not enough, this petite nation offers delightful beaches on both the Caribbean side and the Pacific Ocean.

But Guatemala is also a corridor between Honduras and Mexico for drug trafficking. Guatemala's unpatrolled coastline and sparsely-populated jungles have made popular landing points for boats and planes carrying drugs from South America.

Crime and corruption always bring misery to a nation's people and Guatemala has had her share. Events completely beyond Guatemala's control, such as Castro's Marxist revolution in 1959 in nearby Cuba, or a devastating earthquake in 1976, which left more than 20,000 people dead and 1,000,000 homeless, plus the present poverty of over half its 17,000,000 citizens—breeding more crime—have challenged every leader of this nation for more than a century.

I Am Raising Up a People of Perseverance by Lana Vawser - Identity Network

I Am Raising Up a People of Perseverance by Lana Vawser

Identity Network

I had a dream recently where the Lord spoke clearly, "I am raising up a people of perseverance."

God is raising up a people of perseverance. Right now God is dealing with the issues of the heart that would hinder perseverance. Those areas of the heart that continue to raise themselves up, that fear links into, that anxiety lives in, where discouragement or disappointment took root, where the weeds have gone deep into the gardens of people's hearts. God is uprooting those things now.

God is strengthening His people. God is refreshing His people. God is healing His people. God is fortifying His people.

Many of you have been battered, many of you have been bruised by what you have walked through. Many of you struggle to hope. Many of you struggle to dream. Many of you are scared to "believe again." Many of you are continually faced with the thoughts of it being "easier to give up" than to keep moving forward.

I prophesy over you right now in the name of Jesus that the Lord is doing a deep work in your heart and He is raising you up as one who embodies perseverance.

You will Encounter the Fire in His Eyes of Love for You

The Lord showed me that for those of you who have really been struggling, feeling weak, feeling sad, feeling discouraged, feeling weary, there are encounters upon you with Jesus where you are going to encounter the fire in His eyes of love for you and it will impart a deeper fire in your belly, His fire.

The enemy has tried to take many of you out. He has tried to steal from you, kill and destroy and through it all, you have continued to stand. You have continued to remain but you have not been feeling as strong as you used to be. Many of you feel the fire has gone. Many of you have been feeling the strength to continue to chase after Him and all He has for you, depleting.

Get ready to get back to your first love. Get ready for your heart to burn for Jesus like never before. Get ready to go back to that place of deep intimacy with Jesus. Your heart is about to burn for Jesus like it never has. Many of you are going to have encounters with Jesus where you will literally be mesmerized by the fire in His eyes. The healing, the revelation, the impartation that is going to be released upon you as you see His loving, burning gaze towards you. The revelation of who Jesus is, is going to be burned in you deeper than ever as you see His eyes!!!!!!!!!!

"He wore many regal crowns, and His eyes were flashing like flames of fire."  Revelation 19:12 (The Passion Translation)

Stolen Vision

Many of you have been living under confusion, many of you have been feeling like you have lost your vision in the battle, but I prophesy in the name of Jesus that in seeing His eyes, being locked into His gaze, these deep encounters, your vision will not only be restored but you will have greater vision than before. The haze will clear as you see Jesus and His loving gaze towards you.

Many of you have been looked down upon over your life. Many of you have been looked down upon recently, and you have been living under a cloud of condemnation, fear of punishment, and lies concerning your identity. These encounters with Jesus, are going to break all of that.

Arise in Perseverance and Power

You are about to arise in perseverance and the power of His Spirit in greater ways. Your seeing Him, is about to change everything within you.

You are going to arise with the fire in your belly that cannot be quenched. You will no longer know weariness, or fear like Elijah that would cause you to want to run and hide. You are coming out and coming out with fire. You are coming out strong. You are coming out empowered by His Spirit. You have been tested and tried but you are coming out now carrying fire, His fire. You will not be silenced. Your vision will no longer be hindered. Giving up is no longer an option.

James 1:2-4, 12 "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.  And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Blessed is the man who remains steadfast (or perseveres) under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."

Where many of you have had your faith shaken by fear and disappointment, get ready to see His goodness, miracles, and amazing testimonies all around that will restore your faith.

I see you chasing after Him with greater vigorous strength and joy! Restored! Refreshed! Replenished! Rejuvenated and strengthened with a deeper fire, conviction and hearts cry of John 6:67-68. "So Jesus said to his twelve, 'And you - do you also want to leave?' Peter spoke up and said, 'But Lord, where would we go? No one but YOU gives us the revelation of eternal life'" (The Passion Translation)

The enemy has tried to chase many of you away from your promise, your destiny, your inheritance, but no more.

He is raising you up in perseverance and power. Strengthening your faith, awakening you to your authority. You are crossing over and taking more ground than you have ever taken, moving into greater fruitfulness than you have known, breakthrough at the heart. Harvest time, and the strength within you to carry it.

King David's Formative Years ✡ "He Is Tending The Flock" - Israel365

“There is still the youngest; he is tending the flock.” And Shmuel said to Yishai, “Send someone to bring him, for we will not sit down to eat until he gets here.”

King David's Formative Years

King David was just one of the great leaders of Israel who worked as a shepherd before stepping into a public  leadership role.  Working as a shepherd in Biblical times, as well as working as a modern-day shepherd pictured above, is a great responsibility. Each individual sheep must be cared for whilst tending to the flock as a whole. Life as a shepherd is the perfect training for leaders who must reign over an entire nation as well as maintain concern and compassion for each individual under their leadership.
